Re: Nap of the day competition Sat 20th december 2014 Ascot 3.00: Ardkilly Witness @ 13/2 betfred thanks Ardkilly Witness.....from the good doctor yard of Dr Richard Newland who is part owner of horse who has won twice over chasing before going on a summer break before reappearing in October at Cheltenham 2m 5f good to soft but only finished 4th, The good doctor sent Ardkilly Witness to Ascot twice in November both races over 3m at start of month it finished 8th in good going and 29 days ago going good to soft when it finished 4th where it made mistake 4 out but recovered and although beat by 4 lengths it was still running on , The good doctor is having the visor on for the first time and could be the answer for another win as it running 3lbs lower in last mark off 136 and Tom Scudamore takes the ride for the first time too

Re: Nap of the day competition Sat 20th december 2014 3.15 Haydock - Red Danaher win @ 6/1 Betfred Red Danaher ran well lto at Wetherby to finish second behind Three Musketeers. He beat the 1/2 favourite who had previously been unbeaten by 6 lengths. He looked like he wanted more of a test so the two extra furlongs and the heavy ground (has gone well enough on soft in the past) should play to his strengths. This is his handicap debut and I think a mark of 120 with a good 7lb claimer on board looks to be very fair. He will probably need the swing in the weights if Araldur is fit and firing as he has run in much better races in the past. However, that is not a certainty, and if Araldur can't find his past form then Red Danaher should have a good chance given the fair mark and the stiffer test

Re: Nap of the day competition Sat 20th december 2014 Ascot 3.30 - Shelford (1pts win, 6/1 Betfred) Two good wins the last twice and the form looks strong Emerging Talent and Aubusson the two horses he beat on those runs have boosted that form with subsequent good efforts. Looks a very progressive horse who could be hard to stop.

Re: Nap of the day competition Sat 20th december 2014 3.30 Ascot: The Ladbroke (2m) Competitive as ever The Ladbroke has 18 runners now that Baradari is out which i fancied a little bit. The favourite is the Harry Fry runner Activial. He's been kept for this and the 4yo gets in with just 10st 10lbs. I wouldn't put anyone off him but looks too short now at around 5/1. Next best is Shelford for the Skeltons who is on a roll at the minute and then we have two Irish challengers in the shape of Clondaw Warrior and Bayan. I don't really think any of them stand enough to warrant a bet and are a little short due to connections. One i like is Goodwood Mirage, i backed him last year for a novice event at the Festival and has finally come good this season at Wetherby, he won that day despite McCoy being unable to ride him close home through injury. He can improve and then only worry is the yards form although they seem to be able to run well in big races when they want to. A saver on Gassin Golf at big odds is worth it as one day he will win a big handicap. Selections: EW Goodwood Mirage 20/1 Stan James

Re: Nap of the day competition Sat 20th december 2014 2.05 HAYDOCK FILL THE POWER @ 6/1 Bet 365 BOG Staying is his real forte, so todays conditions should be right up his street. Only 2lb higher than his last win and ran off 15lb higher in the Scottish Grand National in April so has every chance at the weights. Trainer has been going well with her chasers this month with 5 winners from 18 runners. Has improved with every run this season and should be spot on for today.

Re: Nap of the day competition Sat 20th december 2014 H12.30 Greywell Boy 1pt Win 4/1 Bet365 This horses 3 wins have been on soft or heavy and the horse gets its ground again here. All were over this trip as well and the horse will be fitter after its seasonal debut last time out. Still on a decent mark and there's been some money for it this morning.

Re: Nap of the day competition Sat 20th december 2014 3.40 Lingfield Golly Miss Molly is hard to oppose in the last race at Lingfield today. Scoring easily last time out having previously shown plenty of promise stepping up to this trip and blinkers applied. 8lb rise and more to come from her over this trip. 1pt win Golly Miss Molly 9/4 bet365
