Re: French Open 2013

I was tempted to go the other way on this one. Both played well in that Stuttgart match but BMS seemed jaded after a long run that week..and the line was almost covered. Might have a look in-play....starts in about 10 mins.
Yeah, to be honest mate it could go either way. Hard to find any value in the 10'o'clock games.

Re: French Open 2013 My head hurts just looking at the card today. Bartoli and Schiavone just scream 'TRAP' to me........:loon....both are having poor seasons but are playing average players. I'll be surprised if one of them doesn't lose today. Struggling to find much to work with today.

Re: French Open 2013 Spectators just leaving Court #6, looks like Lu really gave it up. I backed him at 12+ too, had no time to examine this nonsense in deep. Now it's clear. @IamGooner - I am considering backing Duque Marino against Bartoli, cos Bartoli was really lucky to get past Govortsova, while Marino just easily steamrolled Pliskova, which is GOOD result. However, Flipkens on clay ... don't be fooled by her win over Pennetta. Flipkens played really bad last week in Bruxelles and Cesca is former FO champion ...

I'm struggling bigtime today aswell.Gonna go for only two picks & hopefully more opportunities in the 3rd round. Tommy Haas vs Jack Sock French Open over 32.5 games [email protected](7/10) As Czechpunter mentioned above this should be a closer game then the odds suggest. Can see Sock at least stealing one set which should take us over the overs. Mikhail Youzhny vs Federico Delbonis over 35.5 games >[email protected](6/10) Again going for the overs in this which I believe are a few points lower than it should. Delbonis usually raises his game vs the top seeds. Destroyed Reister in his 1st round match & been in good form in 2013.Youzhny will win but can see 3 or 4 close sets between these two. Good Luck everyone with your bets :hope

Re: French Open 2013

B. Mattek-Sands (+1.5 Sets) @ 2.22 (Pinnacle) v.s Li Na Li has been unstable in recent matches with a lot of UEs, including her first round match against Garrigues. Although Mattek-Sands lost in straight sets to Li in Stuttgart, she defeated big names like Errani and Lisicki. I think this time it will be a closer match and Mattek-Sands can get one set or even win it.

Good shouts on this guys :clap

Re: French Open 2013 Makes a nice change to get the retirement in your favour, with Tursanov. 1pt N.Davydenko to win 3-1 3.75 Bet365 3pts Over 37.5 games 1.90 Bet365 I had a nice long write-up on this at home thinking it was an evening game and I could copy/paste it tonight so write-up won't be long here. Istomin if I remember rightly has some good form throughout the year minus his previous tournament but could of been worrying about preparation for Roland Garros. He looked good in round 1 beating Mayer in straight sets. He has a 2-0 deficit to Davydenko but only one on clay in which it ended 2-1. I see this one being close so I'm taking the game handicap. prediction is 3-1 Davydenko.

Re: French Open 2013 Wozniacki let me down yesterday but a slight profit. Will do the P/L tonight when I get a bit more time. Taken a few today today, really quick write-ups though so apologies in advance. Stanislas Wawrinka vs Horacio Zeballos- Tie Break in Match- 13/8 Bet365- (3/10) Breaker bet went well for me yesterday so I'll look to back it again today. This match being the first of those I'll back. Stan was cruising against De Bakker in the last round but as he always seems to do in the slams, went missing for a little bit at the end. Zeballos just about pulled through against Pospisil in the first round and should be able to hold his own in this one as he's pretty decent on the clay. I just fancy this to be a lot closer than the odds suggest as Wawrinka isn't the most reliable guy in the slams and with the prospect of at least a couple of tight sets, think we might see a breaker along the way like both of the first round matches involving these two. Benoit Paire vs Lukasz Kubot- Tie Break in Match- 11/10 Bet365- (3/10) Surprised to see the odds this high for a tie break here in all honesty. Both are pretty powerful players with their groundstrokes whilst Kubot has a big serve which keeps him tight in matches. Paire despite his talent still hasn't convinved me enough to suggest he will run away with matches and with Kubot's serve, this should be a tight one and I think we might see a breaker in this one as well. Jack Sock (+7.5 games) vs Tommy Haas- 5/6 Bet365- (3/10) Think the American will have his chances in this one. He's come through the qualifiers for Paris really impressively and beat Garcia-Lopez with ease in the first round so he should be confident. Haas has been in good form as well but whether he's 100% fit I'm still unsure about. He struggled a bit in the first set against Rufin which he shouldn't be doing really, and with Sock's hard hitting, I think he'll keep this close enough the young American.

Re: French Open 2013 Couple more as well actually. John Isner (-4.5 games) vs Ryan Harrison- 4/5 Bet365- (3/10) I know a few people fancy Harrison here but I'm not so sure myself. I watched a fair bit of Isner's match against Berlocq and he was impressive. Serving bombs, forehand was good and his return of serve was actually impressive as well which was good to see. Harrison has been loitering about on the challenger circuit in the clay season and he's really not beaten anyone of note in that time. The surface doesn't particularly suit him whilst Isner beat him 7-6 6-4 on clay earlier in the year. Should be close in parts but if Isner keeps up his form of the first round, see him winning well here. One Women's match as well. Alize Cornet (-3.5 games) vs Silvia Soler-Espinosa- 4/5 Bet365- (3/10) Cornet looks to have found form just at the right time by winning the event in Strasbourg and then winning her first round match comfortably enough. The same can't be said about her Spanish opponent however, as Espinos's form has been extremely patchy and she's lost to some really average opponents in the past few weeks. Cornet is a far better player, and with the home crowd behind her, I think she'll comfortably take this one in all honesty.

Re: French Open 2013 Back Tommy Robredo to beat Gael Monfils @ 3.10 >Betfair I can't really see why Monfils is such a big favourite for this, as although he has been in good form recently, so has Robredo. They haven't played each other for a number of years, but I think the fact that the h2h on clay is 1-1 points to a close match between the two in this tournament. Another reason why I think Monfils is worth opposing is that there must be a chance of tiredness affecting his game. In the weeks before the French Open started, Monfils won a Challenger in Bordeaux and made the final in Nice, and so far at Roland Garros he has had a match against Berdych that went to five sets and featured 3 tie breaks, and a match against Gulbis that lasted four sets and had two tie breaks. I think it's fair to say that Monfils has had a heavy workload recently, and although Robredo is not exactly renowned for his physical condition, he had a good rest after Madrid and despite being taken to five sets in his last match against Sijsling, his first round match against Zopp was routine and so he should be the fresher of the two. Whichever way you cut it, I just don't see Robredo as this much of an outsider, so I think this is worth a go. Back Sam Querrey to beat Gilles Simon @ 3.00 Betfair This is another match where I'm struggling to see why the favourite is so short, as although Simon is probably the better player on clay, Querrey can play on this surface when the mood takes him. Although the conditions are slower than Querrey would like them to be, his serve can still do plenty of damage and if Simon struggles to break him in this match then he could be in trouble. I say that because although Querrey isn't the greatest on return, Simon is a player who in my opinion is capable of being broken by just about anyone. Something else in Querrey's favour is that he has beaten Simon on clay before, and even though it was a few years ago it suggests that he is capable of troubling the Frenchman in this match. I've also been impressed with what I've seen of Querrey so far in this tournament - he was expected to get a routine win against Lacko in his first match and did, and the way that he beat Hajek so easily in his second match suggests that he is in good shape right now, as Hajek has been playing well recently. Querrey should also have more in reserve for this match than Simon, who played five sets in his first match here against Hewitt and four sets in his last match against Cuevas. I would have priced this match more evenly, and so Querrey looks worth a play. #I also have to echo IAmGooner's comments about fishy25's tie breaks picks - I agree they are very difficult to predict, unless you're fishy25!#

Re: French Open 2013 Ive already got one active bet on the go with Harrison against Isner but thankfully the big money was landed a shade easier with Benoit Paire today then the day before with Benneateau Milos Raonic to beat Kevin Anderson (4/7 Bet365) *Struggle to see why all the money has come for Anderson (15/8 into 5/4) when to me he looks likely to be biting of more then he can chew against Top serving Raonic. Raonic was a comfortable 3-1 winner over Xavier Malisse in Round One, and he won by the same scoreline in impressive fashion against hometown boy Michael Llodra in Round 2 which would of been no easy task with the crowd all for Llodra. Anderson has also endured a fairly comfortable passage through to Round 3 with a straight sets win over Ilya Marchenko in Round One followed by a 3-1 victory over Evgeny Donskoy in Round 2 (never lost serve once). Anderson has definitely had the easier run through out of the 2 thus far and in the only previous encounter between the 2 players, Raonic won 2 tight sets in a 2012 quarter in San Jose. Raonic won 88% of first serve points, not even facing a break point in the game. Raonic never lost a set at San Jose in 3 years, so maybe that game is a bit misleading going into this and This game is on a different surface, but i just find it hard to see Anderson taking 3 sets off his Canadian opponent despite his decent form so far in the Clay Court season. Raonic is very bullish about his game at the minute, and hopefully his big serve will stand him in good stead.. 4/7 is definitely backable compared to the 2/9 he opened at. Over 30.5 games.. BENNETEAU V FEDERER Evens (bet 365) Benneteau has given Fed a few scares in their 6 clashes and notably it was the Frenchman who won their last encounter with a straight sets win in Rotterdam earlier in the season. Benneteau did the job for me in the last round when he grimly fended off a brave comeback by Kamke, and but for the crowd there, I doubt he would be playing Fed tomorrow. Federer has been impressive in winning his opening 2 games, albeit against weak opposition, but I believe Benneteau might push him all the way. Worth noting last game in a slam between these 2, was at Wimbledon last year, where Benneteau had a 2-0 lead over Fed only for Fed to come back and snatch it 3-2 which proved a decisive win as he went on to win that title. Infact, these 2 players have met here in 2008 in the fourth round where Fed was a 3-0 winner albeit in 3 tight sets (32 games played). Just think that evens about more then 30.5 is very generous.

Re: French Open 2013 Schiavone to bt Flipkens @1.813 Pinnacle (5/10) The odds opened about 1.78, then reached almost evens (I missed that), and now they dropped little bit back. Normally, Cecsa should be huge fav (remember , she is the Champion from 2010 and the Runner-Up from 2011). IMO Flipkens is overrated due to her recent win over Pennetta (that played really poor), and H2H 1-0 with 3-set win on hard Hobart earlier this year. However, Cesca is much better on clay, especially at French Open. Flipkens massively choked last week in her match vs Hampton on her home soil (served for the match at 5-2 in the decider and lost 5 games in a row), how on earth could she have a chance vs Cesca?

Re: French Open 2013 Keeping it rather simple today. Back A.Seppi/N.Almagro - Over 36 games for a 3/10 stake at 2.02 with Pinnacle This seems like a low line for a match that might easily go to the distance. Seppi leads the H2H record 2-0, but he is obviously still a fairly big underdog against Almagro on clay, especially given that the Spaniard did not have any problems in the early rounds. Nevertheless, I fancy the Italian to give Almagro a good run for his money - and the overs should get covered in the process really. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/seppi-vs-almagro-betting-the-clash-of-two-clay-court-specialists-should-not-be-over-very-quickly-20130531 Back Fernando Verdasco to beat Janko Tipsarevic for a 3/10 stake at 1.76 with Pinnacle I am not a big fan of Verdasco and we all know that he can lose matches from dominant positions, but this is a match that he should win really. Tipsarevic has been struggling big time recently and the fact that he has managed to beat Nicolas Mahut cannot convince anyone I guess. On the other hand, Verdasco has found some kind of form recently and, on clay, he should be able to prevail in this particular match-up. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/verdasco-vs-tipsarevic-betting-fernando-verdasco-to-deal-with-janko-tipsarevic-in-paris-20130531 Back Varvara Lepchenko to beat Angelique Kerber for a 3/10 stake at 2.62 with Ladbrokes Going against Kerber once again, as Lepchenko leads the H2H record 4-0 and should be able to get under the German's skin at some point. Both can play well and both can hit reasonably big, but, for me, Lepchenko seems to be the stronger force in this particular match-up due to her consistency and staying power. Re: French Open 2013 1pt R.Harrison to win first set AND lose game 5.50 Bet365 1pt J.Isner to win 3-1 3.50 Bet365 I think Isner will win this one although over the last year they have a 1-1 head-to-head. Both had a good round 1. Both winning in straight sets. I think Harrison can get atleast one set and Id imagine that be the first set whilst he is fresh. 2pts J.Janowicz -5.5 to beat R.Haase 2.00 Bet365 Janowicz has had a really good season and I think he can only improve too. He has played recently in an ATP event in which he beat Giraldo, Tsonga and Gasquet. The former both in straight sets. He has a hell of a serve on him and boasts a 75% first serve points won this year on clay. He also has won 84% of his service games. Haase has a decent serve of his own with 40 aces on clay this year but results this year have not been too consistent. He went out in Round 1 of the ATP Tour to R-Vasselin and then went out of Barcelona in round 1 to Busta, ranked 256th. He improved after this but that was beating players of a low ranking eventually going out to Robredo, Tsonga or Monfils. I think Janowicz 3-0 / 3-1 and I think Janowicz will just about cover this handicap. 1.5pts T.Haas -7.5 games to beat J.Sock 2.10 Bet365 Not too sure what people are seeing in Jack Sock. He has had a good year, rising up in the rankings to 118th, but he has beat noone of any substance. Qualified for Roland Garros by winning all 3 games in straight sets, but to rankings 170-200. Tommy Haas is a different world for Sock. He is 14th in the world and on clay this year has won a munich event. He also beat Djokovic and Simon in straight sets this year. This was on hard surface but hard and clay don't have major differences. 2pts F.Verdasco -1.5 games to beat J.Tipsarevic 1.80 Bet365 1pt F.Verdasco to win 3-1 4.33 Bet365 Tipsarevic has not been playing well this year on clay. He went out of the German event against Pella in his first round. He went out of the ATP tour event in round one to Monaco. Even in munich, after getting a bye and beating Zemlja he went out to Brands in 3 sets. He doesn't come into this in any form atall and Verdasco isn't someone you want to play when you have no form. He normally beats players he "should" beat and looking at his recent events he has beaten Raonic recently in a ATP event. He went out of that event to Tsonga in 3 and most recently to ferrer in 3 at a Rome event. Id edge for Verdasco here, in 4.

Re: French Open 2013 Took a couple yesterday, not sure if lines have moved since. Double: Cilic to beat Troicki X Isner to beat Harrison @ 7/10 (Pinnacle:4pts) Cant see past Cilic in the first match. Marin dominates the head to head and Troicki was playing alot better in the past - he's been quite poor over the last year or so. He beat semi-retired Blake in rd 1 here and a 5 setter over Gimeno Traver. Not been an incredible clay season for Cilic either but he seems in good shape here and I rate him a class or two above Troicki. Same with Isner really. Both him and Harrison havent been at their best in recent months but Harrisons's level does look lower. Isner dismantled Berlocq in rd 1 which is a pretty good result, no close sets there. Harrison will make him work I'm sure but Isner has the weapons to take control of the match. Anderson +3.5 games vs Raonic @ 8/11 (Ladbrokes:3pts) Raonic is the better player here but it is on clay and a battle between 2 massive servers...so I would expect close sets and a few pts here or there making the difference. Anderson is dangerous and is playing some good stuff right now - he's taken some decent scalps over the clay season in Cilic and Monaco...two comfortable wins at Roland Garros so I'd say Anderson is in good shape to put up a fight to Raonic. Can see 4 close sets here, hopefully line gets covered. :hope

Re: French Open 2013 Cheers for the words guys. Still waiting on a couple of results but those which were completed yesterday came through so hopefully Sock and Isner can complete the job. Still got those pending but I am taking a few today. Going to do them in two posts though because the first match starts at 10 UK time so will get that up first. Richard Gasquet (-9.5 games) vs Michal Przysiezny- 4/5 Bet365- (3/10) Thought a fair bit about this one but in the end I've decided to bite. I wouldn't go near the unders with Gasquet as I don't trust him completely to do that as he is liable to take some time to find his feet, but when he does, he should romp to victory here. He beat Stakhovsky really comfortably in the first round and that bodes well for the Frenchman. Przysiezny will be delighted to have made the second round here after an extremely favourable first round draw but I don't see where he'll get too much joy today. He's been venturing on the challenger circuit mostly this year and when he has tried for the main events, he has failed to win a set before Paris. He hasn't actually played much on the clay this year either, whilst he was hammered to Bagnis a few weeks back. He might have the potential to keep a set close if Gasquet struggles early doors, but with the crowd behind him, I'd expect a couple of really comfortable sets for the Frenchman which should bode well for the handicap.

Re: French Open 2013 2pts K.Anderson to beat M.Raonic 2.20 Bet365 1pt K.Anderson to win 3-1 5.50 Bet365 I have not been impressed with Raonic atall on clay. In round 1 he looked OK against Malisse winning in 4, but he should of beat Llodra much easier then he did. He went out of an ATP Rome event in Round 1 to Kohlschreiber and further back went out of Madrid to Verdasco after struggling through against Davydenko. He relys too much on his serve so when he isn't there on a given day he struggles. He had a good Barcelona event where he beat Roger-Vasselin and Gulbis in straight sets but I think Anderson's recent form outshine him completlely. In his recent events he got to the final of Casablanca where he lost in 3 to Robredo. In Monte Carlo he beat Janowicz in straight sets before losing to Cilic. He then overcome Cilic in Rome only to go out at L16 stage to Berdych. He has really come on with his game and people forget he can serve himself. 90 aces this year on clay! Raonic 79!

Re: French Open 2013 And the rest of them for me. Andreas Seppi vs Nicolas Almagro- Tie Break in Match- 11/10 Bet365- (3/10) Let's try this bet again then. Was going to edge towards the overs but the price is slightly better on the tie break and I think both will come through in all honesty. Seppi has troubled Almagro in the past, winning both matches in fact but neither match was on clay which is the difference you will when Almagro most likely comes through today. Seppi has struggled in his first two matches whereas the Spaniard has cruised somewhat but this is the kind of game where you expect it to last a while with some tight sets along the way. Seppi has already been involved in 4 tie breaks in the past few days and given how close I expect this to be, I do think we'll see a 7-6 set somewhere along the line. Sam Querrey (+4.5 games) vs Gilles Simon- Evens Bet365- (3/10) Going against Simon again here as I'm still not entirely convinced by him. I backed the overs in his last match which came through after he dropped the first set, and he's already dropped 2 sets against Hewitt as well which says to me he is not backable in the slightest right now. Querrey hasn't had any problems thus far in beating Lacko and Hajek in straight sets and he will get chances in this one as well. He has a decent record against Simon, winning their only previous meeting on clay, whilst although Simon has won the other 2 games, they have both gone to 3 sets so Querrey won't fear Simon here. Obviously the crowd will be rooting for the Frenchman and that might just about see him through, but the American should be able to hold his own here and keep it close. If Simon goes missing for a bit like he can do, Querrey should be able to capitalise so the handicap looks good to me here on Sam. Gael Monfils vs Tommy Robredo- Over 38.5 games- 5/6 Bet365- (3/10) This could be another thriller like Monfils' previous two games and there's no way I don't see this being really close to be honest. Monfils is playing some really good stuff at the minute, albeit a slight bit lucky that Gulbis checked out towards the latter stages of his previous match. Robredo did will to come back from 2 sets down to beat Sijsling in his previous match and he's also been in really good form in the clay season since returning. I actually can't pick a winner between these two which would suggest that the value is with Robredo but this match should be really physical and grueling and it wouldn't surprise me if it went the distance. The minimum I expect though is 4 sets and if all goes to plan, that should see the overs through. And a couple for the women. Roberta Vinci (-3.5 games) vs Petra Cetkovska- 4/5 Bet365- (3/10) Handicap looks a little low for the Italian here. Cetkovska has only played 3 matches all season and they have come in the past few weeks so she's come into Paris massively undercooked. She did beat Pavlyuchenkova in the last round but Pav is wildly inconsistent these days so I wouldn't read too much into that result. Vinci hasn't been outstanding in recent weeks but she is still a few levels about Cetkovska given the Czech's injury woes this year so I'd back her to come through this one with a bit to spare. Bojana Jovanovski vs Svetlana Kuznetsova- Over 20.5 games- Evens Bet365- (3/10) This line against looks on the low side to me. I wrongly went against Jovanovski in her game against Wozniacki but she was pretty impressive in that game despite her recent bad form. The thing with the Serb is when she gets confident and high on momentum, she usually carries that through and plays well so she should run Kuzzy close today by my reckoning. The Russian isn't playing her best tennis either at the minute shown by her dropping the first set against Rybarikova in horrible fashion. Jovanovski should be able to hit through Kuzzy a bit you feel and with both players playing inconsistently at the minute, I think this might be a close one between the two.

Re: French Open 2013 2pts S.Querrey to beat G.Simon 3.00 Bet365 Querrey has been in good form recently. Everytime I go against him he seems to win. Simon I don't think is playing all that great right now he struggled with Hewitt and lost the first set to unknown Cuevas. He has the crowd but Querrey has the form. 3pts V.Lepchenko to beat A.Kerber 2.37 Bet365 Good value for this. Lepchenko seems to winning everytime I see her right now. Kerber sailed through Cepelova losing only 2 games and also managed to overcome Barthel in straight sets but Lepchenko will be a different test for her. Lepchenko holds a 4-0 head to head and 2 of which were on clay.

Re: French Open 2013 Wow, Fishy mate you have the Midas Touch this week mate....:clap....was gonna follow on Kuzzie overs but didnt...checked the scoreboard and the bet looked dead....check again and she gets broken serving for the match and the bet is covered......:lol........keep em coming, I'm following you for the week! I just cant get a run going this week at all.....got Anderson right but was let down by retarded Cilic who couldnt convert break points or multiple 0-30 situations. The conditions must be heavy and slow, serve not working....only way I can assume he'd lose in straights to 2013 Troicki. But I should be shot for putting him in a double.

Re: French Open 2013 Nearly 10 pts down for the event after Seppi, Lepchenko, and Verdasco all messed up at some point today :(. At least the rest of the thread seems to be doing well, with fishy25 hitting plenty of full-houses :ok. Taking these three for tomorrow. Back Jelena Jankovic to beat Samantha Stosur for a 3/10 stake at 2.20 with Pinnacle Don't know what everyone is seeing in Stosur in all fairness. She is a great clay court player, of course, but she has a very poor record against Jankovic and it seems to me that she will be in for a very tough match on Saturday. At odds against, I think that Jankovic is to be backed here. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/jankovic-vs-stosur-betting-jelena-jankovic-looks-value-against-samantha-stosur-20130531 Back Jamie Hampton to beat Petra Kvitova for a 3/10 stake at 3.25 with Ladbrokes I have seen both of Kvitova's matches and I have not been impressed by either of her performances. She is still very inconsistent, she is still unable to build on her serve, and there have even been some rumors about her arm not being quite alright. On the other hand, Jamie Hampton seems to be on the rise right now and should be able to get under Kvitova's skin at some point of the match. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/hampton-vs-kvitova-betting-jamie-hampton-can-upset-the-czech-number-one-in-paris-today-20130531 Back Novak Djokovic to win the French Open 2013 for a 4/10 stake at 3.25 with Bet365 I had one eye on this bet before the event, but the loss against Berdych put me off in all fairness. However, Djokovic has recovered well, while Rafael Nadal has looked a bit jaded recently, even complaining about the scheduling and stuff like that. Is that a sign of more struggles ahead? I am not completely sure about that, but the odds for Djokovic look a touch high given the recent developments. Re: French Open 2013 Going to make a reappearance. Some cracking calls this week so far gents. Keep them coming :ok - BENOIT PAIRE to beat Kei Nishikori @ 1.78 with 188bet It's not often I plump for bet below 1.8, but I feel Paire should be a bigger favourite in this one. He's playing confident, aggressive tennis right now and is feeding off the home crowd's positive energy. He was very, very good against a potentially dangerous opponent in Lukasz Kubot in R2 and he showed focus and determination to see the Pole off. Nishikori will offer a different type of test. The Japanese has got lovely feel round the court and is dangerous off both wings, but he has offered up too many weak service games against Jesse Levine and Grega Zemlja in previous rounds and that could be his undoing here. Clay is not his best surface - in fact, I'd argue it's his worst - and up against the home favourite, on his best surface, I think he may find it too tough to get through. Paire can be unpredictable and this has the potential to go four or five sets, but ultimately, I think this match is Paire's to lose and if he performs to his recent levels, he'll have too much in his locker for the Japanese. - JANKO TIPSAREVIC to beat Mikhail Youzhny @ 2.10 with 188bet I was quite surprised to see Janko as the dog here. Youzhny has probably had his poorest year for some time now and although he's made it to R3 at Roland Garros, I feel the bookies have overestimated him a tad in this match. Tipsarevic might just be coming on to a game right now. His win over Fernando Verdasco was hard-earned in R2, but the fact he battled through that suggests he's up for a run in Paris and has gotten over his injury woes of the spring. The H2H is fairly close - no recent clay court clues - but I just feel Tipsarevic is likely to cough up less errors and be the aggressor more in this encounter. Youzhny was very charitable against Federico Del Bonis in the previous round in terms of offering up chances and a better player would have taken them. The Serb could be the man to do so. I would not have him has the underdog. :hope

Re: French Open 2013 Back John Isner to beat Tommy Haas @ 3.75 >Betfair I think Haas probably deserves to be the favourite in this match, but not by this big of a margin. Isner's serve alone should mean that he can keep this close, and although he had a bit of a struggle getting past Harrison in his last match, I'm more interested in his win over Berlocq in his first match. Berlocq is a more than competent clay court player, and so a win in straight sets for Isner suggests that he is in a good place right now. Although Haas has won both his matches in straight sets, I don't think he has been pulling up any trees with his performances so far, and I wonder if he is over whatever it was that caused him to withdraw from the Power Horse Cup the week before this tournament. When you also consider that Isner was able to push Nadal to five sets at the French Open a few years ago, and even though Haas has been in good form so far this season, I don't see why Isner can't get the better of the veteran German. Back V. Hanescu to beat Philipp Kohlschreiber @ 3.40 >Betfair I think Hanescu has been in good form so far this season, making the quarter-finals in Romania and Portugal, and that he has carried his good form into this tournament. Even though he has benefited from two retirements so far against Tomic and Tursunov, in each match he was well placed to win. Conversely, I'm not sure what to make of Kohlschreiber at the moment, and I think his game has been a little off since he lost in the final of the BMW Open. He withdrew ahead of his third round match in Rome, and then lost his first match at the Power Horse Cup. He didn't look too convincing against Vesely in his first match here, and he got a walkover in his second match against Lu. I think Kohlschreiber needed another match to try and find some extra form, and that in this case a rest day might not have been the best thing. Hanescu is not a spectacular player by any means, but if Kohlschreiber doesn't play well then I think the Romanian can make the next round.

Re: French Open 2013 Janowicz + 5.5 games vs Wawrinka @ 5/6 (Stan James:4pts) Wawrinka is in good form no doubt but he's a sloppy player, has periods where he's making loads of errors which can happen when you play his style of tennis. He narrowly covered this line against average De Bakker and Zeballos, Janowicz is playing some decent stuff on the tour this year...has some weapons. Dont think he will beat Stan but can see him being very competitive...making a few sets tight. :hope
