Re: Goliath - The Team Challenge (Summary of PL Teams defending our crown) Apparently you can re enter upto Level 6. if you go out after that it is waiting around for the next day. Quite alot of players fell on day 1a. Knew it was going to be brutal but not that brutal!

Re: Goliath - The Team Challenge (Summary of PL Teams defending our crown)

Just looked on the text link thinking I'd catch the end of the day's play and it seems to have finished just after 11.00. I'm a bit confused by this, rules said you couldn't re-enter on the same day. :unsure
They have changed the rules this year. Last year you couldn't reenter on same day. This year you can as senshi says up to level 6 or you can reenter next day. Chip Leader from Day 1a was first eliminated and then reentered.

Re: Goliath - The Team Challenge (Summary of PL Teams defending our crown) Day 1b update, courtesy of GUKPT Goliath Blog:

I joined the action to see a flop the 6d-6c-9d spread on the felt and approximately 4,000 in the pot. Keith Steffens fired out a bet of 2,000, Steve Hall made it 5,000, an unknown player then moved all-in for 20,900 total. Back on Steffens he called the all-in and Hall, after a dwell-up, folded his hand. Steffens: 9s-9h Unknown Player: Kh-6h Ouch, what a cooler! The Qh and 8c completed the board and Steffens dragged an impressive pot.
Bagheira (Steffens) chips up big and somehow avoids taking out AA_Hall at the same time :nana:clap

[h=1]Update courtesy of GUKPTGoliath2012 Blog[/h][h=1] Steffens stacking them up[/h] Posted on by dinocasino
Keith Steffens is one of the early chip leaders having, as he does, a stack of roughly 70,000. In his most recent coup he three-bet a 775 to 2,700 and his lone opponent made the call. The flop fell 6s-10s-2d, Steffens c-bet 4,500, call from his opponent. The 9s hit the turn, “How much have you got left?,” asked Steffens to his opponent, “About 13,000 came the reply,” pretty swiftly Steffens announced that he was all-in and after a couple of looks back at his hand his opponent mucked his cards.

[h=1]Two chips and a chair[/h] Posted on by danafish
Stephen Mcgowan has enjoyed a miracle double up, his A-8 coming up trumps over his opponent’s A-T on an 8-8-J-9-9 board and prompting murmurs of, “Chip and a chair,” around the table. The double up was to a meagre 13,000, begging the question whether it wouldn’t have been better for Mr. Mcgowan to bust out and try again tomorrow – but he seemed happy enough about his tiny stack, and anyway, if his luck continues this way he’ll probably be chip leader by the end of the night.

3x PL through, various teams (as far as I can tell from quick glance, maybe more) + any editor/writer/contributor of WPT Mag is ofc a friend of PL. Have to also say Joe Grech is a legend and a top bloke. Sat next to him in Luton for a while last year, serial GUKPT final tabler with $1m to his name but as easy to talk to as the guy next door.

Embarrassed at missing Staffy (Michael Plant) in the list. :$ Also now spotted Shaun Williams (saxevest) Not sure of PL name for Liam Crawford (friend of Robbiebox)
