Re: France - Ligue 1 - 14-15 January

Sport Football (France)
Event PSG - Toulouse
Selection PSG
Strength 10/10
Date 14/01/2012
Bookmaker/Price Bwin @ 1.62
Reasoning League leaders PSG have new coach this year and the name is more than known - Carlo Ancelotti, who won a lot of titles with Milan over the years. Actually this is his second official game for him (2:1 against Saint-Colomban in the cup), but this will be his debut at "Parc des Princes" and everything else expect a victory will be a bad result. PSG is leader in Ligue 1, three points clear of Montpelier. The team have two defeats at home so far this season and both were in Ligue 1 (11-1-2). Carlo Ancelotti can't use Sakho (10 games), Chantome (9 games) and Matuidi (12 games) for this home game on Saturday. Toulouse is doing really well in Ligue 1 so far and the team is currently on seventh position at the table. But the team is counting mainly on their home games (6-3-1), while away from home they have only two wins so far (2-4-3). Toulouse started the season good as visitors too, but their program was really nice. Now in the last five away games the team managed to win only two points (0-2-3) and in the second half of the season they have to play as visitors against PSG, Marseille, Lille and Rennes. Tabanou (18 games), Riviere (8 games) and Akpa-Akpro (10 games) are all out for the game at "Parc des Princes". New owners of PSG make the team a title candidate in no time. They don't hesitate to spend money on new players and this increased the quality of the team a lot. And now with a manager like Carlo Ancelotti PSG have great chance to fulfil their first goal, which is winning the Ligue 1 for the first time in a lot of years. PSG have won the last four games against Toulouse in a row and on Saturday I expect another win for one of the favorites for the crown this season.

Re: France - Ligue 1 - 14-15 January PSG - Toulouse .. 1 (1.55) PSG are unbeaten in 6 games in all competitions, winning 5 of them. They head into 2012 with a new coach with former Chelsea, Juventus and AC Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti having taken over from the dismissed Antoine Kombouaré. Toulouse have not won any of their last 7 away games in all competitions, losing 4 of them. TFC's goalkeeper Yohann Pelé is out injured while defenders Aymen Abdennour, Mohamed Fofana and Cheikh M'Bengue are all at the Africa Cup of Nations.

The PSG with the new coach Carlo Ancelotti and a team made up of players worldwide can easily win the match against Toulouse and defend the primacy of good in the standings. The Tolosa is doing very well the Ligue 1 team playing very well at home while away from home suggests some more difficulties. :hope:hope:hope

Re: France - Ligue 1 - 14-15 January Caen - Rennes: Rennes @ 2.50 (Ladbrokes) 10/10 Even though Rennes will be missing players to the Copa Africa, I think they are the better team and the odds offered are a worthwhile bet. Rennes is in 5th place and just 3 points out of European cup places. At 5-0-5 Rennes has the 4th best away record. Caen has gone 1-2-5 in its last 8 matches and has the 2nd worst home record (3-1-5). Rennes has the better quality, even with its missing Copa Africa players, and should be able to defeat an out of form Caen side. Nancy - Lorient: Draw @ 3.14 (Titanbet) 10/10 There isn't anything that really recommends a win for either side. Nancy has the 4th worst home record (2-5-3) and Lorient has the 4th worst away record (1-2-6). Nancy needs the points more to get out of relegation, but the home record diminishes one's confidence in Nancy's ability at home. Although weak away, Lorient is probably a little better as a team and can get a point against a weak home team like Nancy.

Re: France - Ligue 1 - 14-15 January St Etienne-Sochaux - St Etienne have scored more than two goals only once in their last 9 home games, whereas Sochaux haven't scored in their last 3 away outings, so an underish match seems to be on the cards. With three players missing for the ACN St Etienne will be even more cautious. Recommended bet Under 2.0/2.5 AH Ladbrokes @1.98.

Re: France - Ligue 1 - 14-15 January Hmm, Marseille vs. Lille looks as a goal fest game to me. Since 2010 on, these teams produced 3 or more goals every time they met. Also, last 8 games Marseille played 7 games over 2 goals while Lille on last 8 games was involved in 4 over 2 goals, 2 with 2 goals. I'm expecting goals to be seen today so I'll be jumping on the goal market here. Over 2 Goals @ 1,60 [3 Units] with Bet365

Not to put you off your bet but I'd just be a little cautious over the African nations players going and also the Marseille defence is pretty tight at home. Best of luck though!

Re: France - Ligue 1 - 14-15 January Sport Football (France) Event Marseille - Lille Selection Over 3.5 goals Strength 5/10 Date 15/01/2012 Bookmaker/Price Nordicbet @ 4.10 Reasoning Marseille will be missing the Ayew brother because of the African Nations Cup. At the same time center defender Diawara will also be out. It's a game between 2 title contenders, and usually when these 2 teams meet it's a highly entertaining game with a lot of goals in it. For example last season Lille won here 2-1, while Marseille won 3-1 at Lille. They also met this season already twice. In the Super Cup it was a cracking game, ended in a 5-4 win for Marseille while Lille got their revenge at home in a 3-2 win. Actually, the last 7 games between these 2 teams have all produced at least 3 goals, so it's not really that much to ask for 4 at odds as big as 4.10.

Re: France - Ligue 1 - 14-15 January Marseille v Lille Sunday 20.00 Is there not value with Lille at odds of up to 4.5? Lille are 3rd and Marseille are 7th Marseille at home this season: 5/4/1 14/5 Lille away this season: 4/5/0 13/7 http://www.soccerway.com/national/france/ligue-1/2011-2012/regular-season/ Looking at this, I can't see why Lille should be as long as 4.5 Also, according to conelly's post above, Lille are missing one player for the African Nations Cup, but Marseille are missing four. The preview at the bottom of this page reminds that Marseille's recent form is better than Lille's - http://soccernet.espn.go.com/preview/_/id/320200?cc=5739 But this still doesn't justify the disparity in the odds, imho. So I think Lille are good value - Lille Draw No Bet 3.0 with Bet365 or 3.1 with Betfair

Result: Marseille 2 Lille 0 I saw most of this game. Very good to watch, I thought it was a good advert for French football. Marseille dominated and for the most part were stronger in defence and showed more desire to get the win. Lille only really started playing after going 2 goals down on the 80th minute. I thought Marseille deserved to win here. Marseille's striker, Remy, stood out in attack, and I was impressed with both defences and both goalkeepers. Was the Lille DNB bet good value? Yes, given their records. It's harder to forecast who will show greater desire on the night - and I think that was what made the difference here.
