  1. Katarina Zavatska (2-0) to beat Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva at 1.85 with William Hill

    Andrezieux-Boutheon ITF

Kasintseva is a 15 years old player who won the 2020 AO Girls' Singles. She has won against Lu Jia-Jing (7-6, 6-4) in her 1st round here but IMO she's still too young to beat Zavatska. The ukranian player has won easily against Gatto-Monticone (6-4, 6-1) in her first round here. I like the fact that Zavatska won easily in the qualy of the AO against Clara Tauson (6-3, 6-3), the player who won the 2019 AO Girls' Single. Tauson is 3 years older than Kasintseva and she's currently so much better player than her. She even has won the Fujairah ITF 2021, beating players like Gasanova or Golubic in the Final. I watched her and the current level of Tauson is really high.

  2. It's not impossible. I have won all the bets I have posted here since I returned, 1 month ago. This one was a trap... I had my doubts, but I finally have been fooled by the bookies. You never can take a player that has been out of the courts that long. The last time he won a match was in 2019... Unfortunately for us, Pouille was in a worse shape than we thought and his opponent was the right one to make us think that this could be his first victory. Bad deal.

  3. Sure, Pouille playing in the 50% of his capacity is enough to destroy him. Horansky best surface is clay, by far... As I said, he has a negative record on this surface and the last time he won a match on this surface was in 2019 (Bratislava challenger). He never has been in the top 150 and the only time he has been in the main draw of an ATP event was 3 years ago (Lyon). I guess if Pouille plays this tournament is because he's in a decent form. Besides, he has won his doubles match... So, considering all I have said, how is Pouille priced at 1.60¿? I find it a little bit strange, but we'll see. I expect Pouille to win this "easily", though.

  4. Paolo Lorenzi (+4.5 Games) to beat Daniel Altmaier at 1.83 with bet365

I'm not agree with these odds. Probably you will remember this player for his incredible run in RG 2020, where he beat Feliciano, Struff and Berrettini, all of them in straight sets... He finally lost against Carreño, also in straight sets. Well, since RG he has played 3 matches: Laaksonen (6-3, 3-6, 6-7), Gerasimov (1-6, 0-6) and Marchenko (4-6, 2-3). This will be his 1st match since October 2020, when he had to retire from his match against Marchenko due to his hip physical problems. I know Lorenzi's best days are gone, but at least he has been active and playing matches unlike the german player.

The single victory is paid at 3.50 with bet365

Be careful, I base this bet mostly on Altmaier's lack of matches and his continued physical problems.

    WTA 500 Gippsland Trophy 31 January - 6 February

WTA 500 Yarra Valley Classic 31 January - 6 February

ATP 250 Great Ocean Road Open 1 - 7 February

    ATP 250 River Murray Open 1 - 7 February

    ATP CUP 2 - 6 February

    WTA 500 Grampians Trophy 3 - 7 February

    AUSTRALIA OPEN 8 - 21 February

    WTA 250 Philip Island Trophy 13 - 19 February

    WTA 500 Adelaide International 22 - 27 February

As you can see, finally a third WTA 500 event has been added. The Grampians Trophy (3 - 7 February) will be for those players who have been in strict quarantine.

Looks like we will have some intense days here from 31 January till the end of the AO ?

@cluelessG the positive from the Dubai flight was a false alarm.

3 positives from the Los Angeles flight (24 players):
    - Edward Elliot (Lauren Davis’ coach), a flight attendant and a journalist (9news)
1 positive from the Abu Dhabi flight (23 players):
    - Sylvain Bruneau (Andreescu’s coach)
1 positive from the Doha flight (25 players):
    - Unknown (not a tennis player)

    72 players in hard quarantine:

    MEN:
Nishikori, Sandgren, Pospisil, Pella, Londero, Cuevas, Santiago González, Marcus Demoliner, Artem Sitak, Nicholas Monroe, Philipp Oswald, Marcus Daniell, Marcelo Arévalo, Rajeev Ram, Rohan Bopanna, Alcaraz, Vilella, Stebe, Alexandre Muller, Federico Ferreira Silva, Karatsev, Stakhovsky, E.Ymer, Halys, Coppejans, Mmoh, Machác, Troicki, Safiullin, van de Zandschulp, Tomic, Laaksonen, Cressy, Dellien, Taro Daniel, Dzumhur, Ivashka, Paire

    WOMEN:
Azarenka, Stephens, Riske, Lauren Davis, McHale, Mattek-Sands, Andreescu, Kerber, Cirstea, Kuznetsova, Bencic, Jabeur, Sakkari, Watson, Kostyuk, Kontaveit, Kudermetova, Yastremska, Rybakina, Badosa, Putintseva, Oksana Kalashnikova, Krejcikova, Strycova, Siniakova, Dabrowski.

I still don't know who are the other 8 players in hard quarantine, anyone knows¿?

I was wrong about Potapova and I have added Dabrowski to the list. I stopped my research about which players are, I hope we will know in the next days. Some of these players are showing signs of despair. Paire said he is fatigued and just want to go home... Kostyuk said she was having anxiety attacks... and they still have another whole week. I suggest you to take note of these players for the next ATP/WTA events because it's pretty obvious this is affecting them. So, as I said before, if anyone knows the other players please tell.

  7. Marc-Andrea Huesler (-3.5 Games) to beat Facundo Bagnis at 1.83 with Pinnacle

As I said in a previous post, Huesler did really well in 2020. He won a couple of Challengers and reached the Final in Kitzbuhel, beating good players and ending the year with an impressive 31-9. Bagnis is a pure clay courter but it shocked me anyway too see that his match against Zhang (6-4, 6-1) has been his second match on indoors of his whole career...I have watched that match and I have to say that Zhang has played very badly. Huesler has won in his first match here against Istomin (2-6, 6-2, 6-4).

  8. A breaking notice. Finally, there are 2 positive cases involving tennis players (a 30 years old man and a 20 years woman, both from the Abu Dhabi flight). These still could be false positives, so let's see...

Kostyuk is suffering anxiety attacks (she's one of the players under strict quarantine).

Putintseva has found a new rat in her new room. Could it be the same rat she found in her first room? Is that rat chasing her? Who knows...

Probably this was from a few days ago when even the players that were under a normal quarantine were not able to train outside their rooms. The players under a normal quarantine have started to practice on court in the last hours. Be careful about what sources you check because I have read some sites that are completely wrong about which players are in strict quarantine.

    Challenger Istanbul

Marc-Andrea Huesler (2-0) to beat Guido Andreozzi at 1.85 with William Hill

Andreozzi did not play any match in 2020 due to the pandemic. His only match since 2019 has been against Tristan Schoolkate (839) and he lost that match in 2 sets (7-6, 6-4). Huesler's last 6 months of 2020 were impressive (31-9). He reached the SF in Kitzbühel: Balazs (6-4, 6-0), Gunneswaran (6-3, 6-3), Ruusuvuori (3-6, 6-4, 7-6), Fognini (6-1, 6-2) and Feliciano López (6-4, 6-3), losing finally against Kecmanovic in 3 sets. He won the Challengers of Sibiu and Islaming (winning there against good players as Dustin Brown, Schnur, Hoang, Korda,...). He lost in his second match of the qualy of the AO against Elias Ymer in 3 sets.

As you know I rarely post about Challengers. If this one goes as I expect probably I will post some more, let's see....

This match finally won't be played because Andreozzi had contact with Cerundolo

  13. After some research this is what i got:

2 positives from the Los Angeles flight:
    - Edward Elliot (Lauren Davis’ coach) and a flight attendant
Positive from the Abu Dhabi flight:
    - Sylvain Bruneau (Andreescu’s coach)

There are 47 players in quarantine
    MEN:
Nishikori, Sandgren, Pospisil, Pella, Londero, Cuevas, Santiago Gonzalez, Sitak, Oswald, Daniell
    WOMEN:
Azarenka, Stephens, Riske, Lauren Davis, Andreescu, Kerber, Cirstea, Kuznetsova, Bencic, Jabeur, Sakkari, Watson, Cornet, Kostyuk, Yastremska, Rybakina, Badosa, Putintseva, Podoroska

I still don’t know who are the others

  14. I only have watched the Hurkacz-Harrison and Norrie-Korda matches. Hurkacz won in 2 sets playing with the foot off the pedal. Korda played really well but when he was serving for the match (40-15, 5-4), he pooped his pants. Playing against another player probably she would have lost the set, but not against Norrie. The british made a show of his politeness and gifted the next game (2 DF). IMO Hurkacz should win the Final but, as I said, I only have watched 2 matches...

another rutine victory from Savinykh 6-4, 7-5 (easiest 5.00 ever¿?). I have been watching about her and she looks pretty decent. Actually, she looks better than some current top 100 players...Any russian punter who knows more about her?

    @Olymp thanks, mate!

  15. Valeria Savinykh (+5.5 Games) to beat Ysaline Bonaventure at 1.91 with William Hill

The only match from the qualies that I have watched is the Bonaventure-Lottner match. I think I have never watched Savinykh (and if I did, i don't remember) but I'm impressed with her numbers here. She has won against Vikhlyantseva (6-2, 6-4) at 5.5 and Gatto-Monticone (6-4, 7-6) at 3.0. Taking a look at her record career it's clear that she's a hard court player (179-117). Obviously, most of these matches have been against low ranked players but when she has played against top 100 players, she has done well. Bonaventure has won against Kostic (6-3, 6-3) and Lottner (6-1, 6-3). As I said, I have watched that match and Lottner has played with back problems (she was unable to run).

I think the odds are wrong and I think she even can win the whole match. The single victory is paid at 5.00 in some bookies but I will go with the Games handicap.
