  1. More profit on Tuesday to continue the good 1st month or so of the new season. Most of my bets are usually in the National League, but nothing really stands out as a bet this week, so I have 3 bets at Step 2 and 1 at Step 3. Also Gloucester City v Blyth Spartans Blyth would have gone down last season if the season had of ended and they already look like they will be in a relegation battle this time around as well. I opposed them last week and Telford should have put the game to bed well before they gifted Blyth an equalizer in the 90th minute. They lost in the FA Cup on Wednesday to

  2. Not great on Saturday especially with the way Telford decided to gift Blyth an equalizer in the 90th minute having dominated the game which basically would have meant we would have broke even. At this stage we have no FA Cup prices so for now it is 3 bets in the National League and 1 in the Pitching In Isthmian Premier. Halifax v Yeovil The away side have been disappointing so far this season. I originally thought the opening day 2-2 draw at Kings Lynn was a decent effort, but then when you start working through the form lines of that, the draw at home to Wealdstone and then they wer

  3. It has been a good couple of weeks with plenty of big price winners landed. Hopefully that can continue on Saturday as I have 7 bets across the divisions. Chesterfield v Woking The home side went ahead via a penalty on Tuesday night, but Hartlepool got 2 goals back to give us a winning selection and I am going to oppose Chesterfield again here. Woking have made a really good start to the season winning both games and they are making a similar start to the one they made last season. They deservedly beat Solihull and then put in the perfect away performance when beating Weymouth on Tue

  4. Great to land another big number on Saturday with Eastleigh romping to a 5-1 victory over Barnet. Barnet were the team I wanted to back to go down, but there is still no sign of prices sadly and obviously it would be shorter than it would have been after that defeat. Games are going to come thick and fast now and I have 3 bets in the National League plus one bet in the National League South as the Step 2 get their seasons underway after their FA Cup games on Saturday. Chesterfield v Hartlepool I was keen to oppose Chesterfield on Saturday and I am keen to oppose them again. I think m

  5. Everyone who plays this competition will appreciate the amount of work involved in its running, which BillyHills did, from compiling the results to putting up the weekly posting threads. Just so the Admin team here can get on top of things we are going to pause for a week, which will reduce the period of the first season comp by a week. This happens to coincide with an international break when the betting choices would be affected, so we hope you will bear with us on this. We will update last weeks results as soon as possible.

  6. Decent profit on Saturday so hopefully more of the same of Tuesday night where I have 5 bets across the 4 Pitching In divisions. Grantham v Stafford Going to try Grantham again here despite the loss on Saturday. Stafford have lost both their first two games and are struggling to get going at the start of the season. Obviously it wasn't great that Grantham lost, but it was a late penalty which meant Atherton got the win and they do look stronger than the away side here. Gainsborough v Whitby Warrington were one of the winners on Saturday when they beat Gainsborough, but desp

I understand that last point, but I am pretty certain he would want everyone to carry on as normal. He clearly loved this place and when the rest of us had a conference call earlier I think it properly dawned on us how much he actually did. He was keen for the place to continue to thrive after Paul left us and he would want the same now. He may be gone, but he certainly won't be forgotten. Certainly in the short term I will try and replace him in the horse section so if anyone has any questions etc then don't be afraid to ask.

  9. I've taken a few bets for this weekend. Dorking to beat Braintree @ 2.05 5/5 units Dorking will be fighting for promotion and Braintree look very weak this season. Havant to beat Billericay @ 2.50 2/5 units Dartford to beat Bath @ 2.00 2/5 units Maidstone to beat Hemel @ 1.95 2/5 units Weston Super Mare to beat Wimborne @ 1.90 2/5 units Wingate & Finchley to beat Merstham @ 3.90 2/5units Gloucester look a good bet aswell, did an acca with all these matches @ 242.85 Dorking is a maxbet @ 5/5 units and is my bet best for the weekend. 10. @Fader Hi Fader. Firstly, thanks for taking over running the Naps Comp and Sir Puntalot KO Cup in this time of mourning. I'm sure it's the last thing you want to be doing at this moment in time. Also, i'm sure i speak for a lot of the Punters Lounge family when i say, that trying to carry on picking out naps for the comp and general picks in the daily thread as well as the £20 challenge, has been difficult. I was going to take a break from it all and reflect, but comments about how he would of wanted us to carry on has encouraged me to keep on going. We all know that Graham has left some

  17. To those above, unfortunately the tragic news about BH will sadly be the answer to what I hoped was an innocuous thing 😔 I came back on to post my selections at Wolverhampton this evening - I feel somewhat guilty doing so given the circumstances but the best tribute I suppose we can pay is to maintain and continue to build the community we have here, so I've included these below. 5.20 Wolverhampton - 1pt e/w Bay of Naples @ 8/1 Bet365 5.55 Wolverhampton - 2pts win Whatwouldyouknow @ 11/2 Bet365 6.30 Wolverhampton - 2pts win Running Cloud @ 5/1 7.00 Wolverhampton - 1pt

  18. Small loss to start the season last week thanks to two of the selections conceding two penalties each. This week I have 5 bets across the 4 divisions. Grantham v Atherton Collieries I opposed the away side last week which paid off and I think Grantham can beat them again here. Grantham did well to come from a goal down against Morpeth last Saturday especially as they had gone down to ten men. They backed that up with a win via a penalty shootout against Rushall in the FA Cup. Both those sides are better than Atherton and odds against quotes look too big. Warrington v Gainsboroug

  20. 4/4 winning bets on Saturday to continue the superb start to the season. It was a very comfortable afternoon as well with all 4 bets landing with ease. Things are rarely that easy, but it is great when it does go that smoothly. So far I have staked 52.5pts and the profit is currently at 57pts. Only 2 leagues have full fixtures planned (although some are off due to Covid and FA Cup reasons) so options are limited. There are 4 teams that make some appeal though with 3 odds on and 1 just about odds against. Because of that I am going to stick them all in an acca which isn't something I would usua

  22. 2-30 Ascot WONDERFUL TONIGHT This three-year-old daughter of Le Havre is extremely lightly raced. She has talent in abundance though and a fortnight ago, she made just about all to win the Qatar Prix De Royallieu at Paris Longchamp in testing conditions. She looks all set to encounter similar ground here this afternoon and with trainer David Menusier in excellent form she commands utmost respect. Will Buick takes over in the saddle and given that she has won over longer trips, he will likely make the most of her proven stamina. Wonderful Tonight is set to receive seven pounds from her mal

  27. At this stage we don't have any prices for the FA Cup matches which sees the Step 2 sides make their seasonal return so at the moment the focus is on the opening day of the National League season and I have one bet at Step 3. Barnet v Eastleigh There is been huge changes at Barnet since they lost to Notts County in the play-offs in July. There has been a change in manager as well as big changes in the squad. Peter Beadle is the new manager which was a surprising choice. I know he used to play for them, but he hasn't managed since Hereford sacked him a couple of years ago and it does

Tsvetana Pironkova to beat Barbora Krejcikova at 1.88 with Pinnacle Pironkova might not be at her best on clay, but she's competent enough and this just looks like an overreaction to me. Krejcikova has done nothing of note apart from beating Strycova lately, but Strycova is poor these days and it was a derby as well. Pironkova, with a day off for training, should have every chance to beat the doubles-bound Krejcikova here.

    Tipster's Tips

Reasoning: There are some really good tipsters out there. They know the sport inside out and they have time on their hands to do the research. Method: If I follow 10+ tipsters, who would most likely tip 4-5 selections, I'd probably end up with 30+ different picks. Based on the previews, and available value, I will narrow this down and choose 3 or 4 bets. Aim: First and foremost, to make a profit! Also I hope to become more disciplined when placing my own bets. My staking can be up and down, and I tend to throw money at silly longshots. So hopefully this thread will encourage me to ke

  33. Saturday could well be the best ever day's racing in Australia given we have The Everest at Randwick and the Caulfield Cup, which features plenty of European interest. I have done a runner-by-runner guide for both races. Nature Strip - The world's best sprinter has been disappointing in both starts so far this prep, but there have been excuses. He has a shocking record 1st up so it wasn't a huge surprise that he was beaten by Gytrash. 2nd up he went back to his very keen ways which he looked to be over and it wasn't a big shock he faded badly. That was explained though by the fact he was

Two UK-raiders are Dundalk bound on Friday It costs a pretty penny to bring these horses across the water and they aren’t travelling over for the fun of it. muker The horse is sent on a 642-mile round trip from his base in North Yorkshire. I thought he ran really well 1st up and stepping up to this trip is ideal. He has an e/w chance as does Aristia who won the VRC Oaks a couple of years ago. She has some decent form at a higher level than this and I think 2000m will suit better than the shorter trips she has been running over. Last time she ran well enough in a G2 over 1600m and I like the 3rd the time before. She is a 16/1 chance. Plein Ciel and Polly G

He then said for the benefit of tennis he would preferably love to see Tsitsipas play any of the top 2 in the final. This simply cant be true. I was wondering why no updates in the tables and was worried only to find out Graham passed. So gutted. He was a gentleman and always helpful, not only to me, but to every one at PL. My deepest condolences to Suzy and the rest of the family. I have a suggestion that all prize money this month goes to Suzy and the rest of Grahams family in support and honor of all the hard work Graham put in on the site.

St Ives v Lowestoft ( Southern Premier Central) Adding Lowestoft to the bets after being alerted to the fact that the St Ives manager has tested positive for Covid and that at least 6 players are showing symptoms and have taken tests although wont find out the results until Wednesday. At this stage the league are forcing St Ives to play the game, which quite frankly is crazy in my view, although I guess they might see sense tomorrow and call the game off. Anyway if it does go ahead clearly St Ives are going to be pretty weak and I guess hey might even struggle to get a whole team out, but
