  1. A very good morning all. Advised winners yesterday at 10/11 and 7/4, and so on to today with two UK meetings from Ludlow and Exeter. The bets for today are again unfortunately mainly just for interest to turn a probable boring day into a possibly interesting one. These are my advised selections for today: Exeter 3.25 SUPER SAINT @ 13/8 (bet365) AL SAYAH @ 11/4 (bet365/hills) Neither of these are bomb proof by any stretch of the imagination but will be shocked if one of them does not get our bets of to a winning start, preference would be for Nicholls Super Saint with Al Sayah (folly to ignore) returning from a fairly lengthy break. Ludlow 4.15 LADY CARO @ 7/2 (bet365) Do think forecast favourite at time of post D Day Arvalenreeva is worth taking on with selection who put in a decent effort last time out beating Character Testing (and giving weight), with the talented Ben Jones retaining the ride. Ludlow 4.48 WALKIN OUT @ 10/3 (hills) This does not look the strongest of hunter chases and prolific point to point winner Walkin Out put in a decent enough effort last time out against Captain Tommy (well beaten second yesterday), to suggest she can possibly play a part again in this contest today. From tomorrow and the start of the big Aintree festival I will now be breaking my posts into two categories for those who wish to follow my selections to be aware of. There will be MAIN selections which will be highlighted and will be what I feel are the STRONGER bets, and there will be VALUE selections which I will NOT highlight but still feel they are worth advising. This might help anyone who follows or wishes to follow differentiate exactly what bets they would prefer to play of mine, if any. Best of luck with your bets today everyone. * There is a sole French jumps bet posted for anyone who is interested.

  2. Lincoln - 3.35 Donc Godwinson at 16/1 bet365 Mainly going off the trainer .... Haggas has won the race 4 times so knows a 'Lincoln Horse' when he has one and this is his only runner. Goes well after a break, likes a bit of soft in the ground, still lightly raced (9 runs, 2 wins) ew double on Naepoint (Spring Mile) and Godwinson (Lincoln)

  4. Morning all. Four selections over the jumps for me today with brief summaries: Southwell 2.35 MARTALMIX'JAC e/w @ 6/1 (bet365) 3 places ** NON RUNNER ** Clonmel 2.42 BALLYBRITTAS @ 11/8 Clonmel 3.42 MACIVER e/w @ 15/2 (888 sport) 4 places (very small rev. f/cst with Bite That) Warwick 4.32 BALLYCAMUS e/w @ 7/1 (bet365) 2 places Summary: 2.35 Good effort latest and entitled to go close again if repeating that. 2.42 Great opportunity to open account over fences with useful 5lb claimer aiding cause. 3.42 VERY competitive race with lots of potential winners, Bite That is on a nice mark BUT has stamina to prove. Selection on a roll at moment with same pilot aboard. 4.32 Could be great each way play at a fair price early this morning. Best of luck with your bets today everyone.

  9. Doncaster 2.25 , Al Shabab Storm 8/1 Kempton 2.05, Golden Rules 11/2, don’t let the long lay off put you off he’s won off a similar break before and looks well handicapped . Kempton 2.50 , Killybegs Warrior 12/1 Kempton 5.35 , Enthused 33/1. Big price for a horse who’s very capable. Has been run over the wrong trip the past two runs. Could be primed for a big run here and we’ll handicapped Uttoxeter 5.05 , Party Business 4/1 small stakes

  12. Morning all. Only one horse each way placed on the flat yesterday so it's back to the jumps for me today to try and get a winner with the mortgage payment due on Tuesday (lol). These will be my plays for today: Ascot 2.45 STAR OF GUITING e/w @ 7/1 (888 sport) 3 places Opened at 12/1 and the money has come fairly heavily since probably as the horse should not be inconvenienced by the probable quick ground it will get today at the course. Did look at BENVOY first but his good ground form so far leaves a bit to be desired, but possibly dangerous to totally discount. Downpatrick 2.55 A MERE BAGATELLE e/w @ 11/2 (skybet) 4 places Very interesting 8 year old for Shark Hanlon who ran a cracker on return to action over a longer trip at Limerick last time out. His son keeps the ride and though this race is a much shorter distance test I still think the horse should run well with ground conditions likely to suit. Ascot 4.30 NORTHERN POET @ 5/2 (generally) Another one down in trip on his last victory and up in class to boot but I think this fella could be up to this tougher test, Credo is the obvious one they all have to beat. Ascot 5.05 COURT CIAN @ 5/2 (bet365/hills) Put in a right stinker at Market Rasen on his penultimate run but back to form latest, and I really do like the 7lb claimer who takes the ride again after winning on it last time out. The trip is a question mark but decent mark for the race and ground shoudl also be in his favour so rates a player for me. Best of luck with your bets today all. * Also put up two jumps selections in France if anyone wants to take a butcher's.

  13. Morning all. A more encouraging end to last night with advised 11/2 flat winner KAT'S BOB and an each way placed of the same price (3rd). Almost fed up of saying it as so often now but the jumps is pants today, so in search of a bit of value the turf flat in UK and Ireland along with some synthetic stuff will have to be the play for me today. These are my selections for today with possibly an addition or two for Newcastle later this evening: (Spring Mile) Doncaster 1.50 PRESSURE'S ON e/w @ 13/2 (pp/betfair) 6 places Think this is well handicapped and my only concern for stopping a big run would be it simply not getting the trip, if it does I expect it to be bang there. Doncaster 1.50 ROGUE ENCORE e/w @ 28/1 (bet365) 6 places Wanted something else in the Spring Mile with a bit more juice to it's price. This one may be best over a mile and has gone well after a break, the ground is a big question mark but will chance it at a biggish price. (William Hill Lincoln) * already advised (see ante post selections). Doncaster 3.35 DASHING DARCEY e/w @ 50/1 (hills) 6 places Outlined my thinking on this one in ante post selection thread on Thursday, and encouraging to see it now best price of 25/1 with most firms. Means nothing but looks like there has been at least some each way money for it and win or lose anyone who went in early (as me), is at the very least holding a fairly good value slip at the moment. Kempton 2.40 ANDALEEP e/w @ 25/1 (bet365) 4 places Went in on this one at a slightly bigger price than it is now early yesterday. Have always rated Sly De Sousa as a jockey, and though a 9 year old with it all on his plate his narrow defeat to The Glen Rovers over CD in early November (when giving loads of weight) really caught my eye. Do think it is on a fair enough mark but am concerned a lot about it's 93 day break when last beaten fairly narrowly by Kings Code (again giving weight). His record off that length a break is not good but hoping Sly can work some magic on it for me tomorrow (covered each way). Kempton 5.35 AIMING HIGH e/w @ 17/2 (hills) 3 places Up in class, but a course and distance winner who is on a decent enough mark to be of interest with Hayley Turner retaining the ride. Curragh 2.15 MAGICAL VISION e/w @ 9/1 (bet365) 4 places Very interesting this one who has won and gone well after a break before but not from 342 days off the course! Still, if by chance it is cherry ripe tomorrow I would expect it to go very close with the excellent Chris Hayes back on board from it's last run at the Curragh. Bit more rain due at course tomorrow which is a positive for this one especially if it shakes off the cobwebs. Curragh 5.10 GOLDRUSH KID e/w @ 15/2 (bet365) 4 places Hoping it's a good day for Chris Hayes who rides this one as well, who got his act together on his latest start at this course 13 days ago. Hopefully he can follow up from what to me still looks an attractive handicap mark and ground should not be a problem either as long as any rain that comes is not too excessive. Will update if any of these horses go bigger in price to keep anyone who does wish to follow them abreast of the best price on offer for that selection. If anything really appeals to me later on at Newcastle will post up again separately. Enjoy the start of the turf everyone and best of luck with your bets.

  14. Spring Mile - Donc 1.50 Naepoint 9/1 bet365 has a lot going for him ........ lightly raced 4 year old has won 3 of 8 starts, has already won a class 2 handicap at the end of last season, acts with cut in the ground, is a CD winner, in facrt all 3 of his victories have been on straight mile tracks of course it's a 22 runner handicap full of horses who haven't run since last year so it's a bit pin-sticky

  15. The first day of the three day Grand National meeting starts in predicted glorious sunshine and with the ground no doubt heavily watered. 1.45 A good start to the meeting with my pick being Harry Fry's GIDLEIGH PARK who can be backed each way here. He wouldn't want the ground too dry (he has been pulled out before on good ground) but I feel sure the clerk of the course would have instructed plenty of water to be put on for the start of the meeting which is currently good to soft. The pick beat subsequent Cheltenham Festival winner Caldwell Potter at Windsor last time and having missed Cheltenham should be coming here a fresh horse and looks the value each way bet. 1 point each way @ 11/2 Bet365 2.20 Having gone in head first on Luamaba at 6/4 at the six day stage I'm already well behind on the race with that one surprisingly (especially as his trainer Nicky Henderson was telling all he was going for this race last weekend) missing out the race now has an open look about it and at the current prices I'll take a chance with Gordon Elliot's WENDROCK who shaped well in the Fred Winter Juvenile Handicap Hurdle at Cheltenham 23 days ago when 6th (beaten 7 1/2L) to the re-opposing Puturhandstogether. On 6lb better terms he looks each way value to small stakes. Keep an eye on hurdling newcomer Coconut Grove at a monster price also for a shrewd outfit. 1/2 point each way @ 11/1 Bet365 2.55 No stand outs here with the highest rated actually the rank outsider in Djelo who ran so badly at Cheltenham. Grey Dawning is probably the most likely winner having missed Cheltenham and bouncing back to form at Kelso but I'll take a chance with Lucinda Russell's AHOY SENOR who always runs well here with form figures of 113223 including runner up in this race for the last two years. His trainer was actually quite bullish of him running well following a wind operation last time out in the Cheltenham Gold Cup but he crashed out seven from home and back on his happy stomping ground is worth chancing each way with (hopefully) all eight standing their ground. 1 point each way @ 13/2 William Hill 3.30 It will be great for racing if the unbeaten (when completing) under rules Constitution Hill was to win this but watching back his victory in this race two years ago he was hardly spectacular in beating the then 10-y-o Sharjah (OR 157) and Zanayir (159). He may still be too good for these but at odds on he wouldn't be for me and it's a no bet race. 4.05 A maximum field of thirty go to post for the Foxhunters and I'll leave this to our hunter chase expert @Darran who will no doubt have strong opinions on the race. 4.40 The best betting race of the day in my opinion is this fourteen runner 2M handicap chase named after Red Rum. I'm actually pretty sweet on one who finished last of 4 finishers (beaten some 47L) at Chepstow last time out! The horse in question is last year's winner SANS BRUIT who I backed in this race last year when given a peach of a ride from the front by Bryony Frost to win by a cosy 4L. His form has fallen apart since but because of that he finds himself back on the identical handicap mark. Harry Cobden takes over from Frost and as the only real out and out front runner in the race it would be no shock were he to get out in front, grab the rail and whizz around this tight track. He might fall in a heap two out but I'm pretty sure we'll get a good run for our money and although the initial odds are a bit stingy he's worth backing each way. I do fear Primoz who was backed off the boards at Cheltenham only to be inconvenienced by a standing start and looks a big threat. 1 point each way @ 13/2 Hills (4 places) 5.15 Day one finishes with a competitive twenty runner bumper for mares. My shortlist comprises of favourite Seo Linn, Charisma Cat and Jackie Hobbs. All three hold decent chances but its the latter who appeals most (especially as he's currently the biggest price of the trio). Harry Derham's mare is unbeaten in a point to point and two bumpers looking smart when coasting home at Ascot in February. 1 point each way @ 8/1 AK Bets (4 places)

  16. I backed it eway at 11/2 WHill about 8.45 this morning as trainer J&S Quinn are 2/2 with horses at course this season 👎 still running , I think as well as at Kempton 5.05 CAPTAIN TOMMY 5/2 WHill . 2nd 👎 not quite good enough to turn over the 4/6 favourite .

  17. A calculated decision on my part not to play last day . It's been probably the closest run comp for quite a while . Thank you to MC obviously , thank you too for all the 'likes' recieved they are appreciated. March is a tough month with the Cheltenham festival in the forefront so well done to everyone.

  18. A brave effort by @bill dean with a 100/30 winner but @roger2256 took the decision not to select on the final day so ends up winning by less than a point. Well done to both of you. I managed to scrape 3rd place so after many years of trying I have finally won a coveted Punters Lounge mug (the prize that money can't buy)

I'm not sure I'm an expert but I have tried the absolute hell out of it & can speak from experience I guess (there are some in this forum that know the industry inside out so can probably speak on this in way more depth than me). I guess the reason it's not discussed on PL is because this place is for punters in essence... arbing isn't punting I don't think (more trading really), probably more suitable forums about, though happy to give a few brief thoughts (apologies if all very basic & well understood by all anyway). My experience is purely from a punter-trying-to-beat-the-bookie perspective, I've never worked at/ traded for a bookie. In short: punters need to represent value to the bookie, if you can't do this, you're not worth having around. Every account is assigned a score, if you heat that score up by placing bets beyond the market all the time the time you'll show up pretty quickly & they'll jump on you. Long-story-short, if you try to beat the bookie through arbing, as in going for it to the max daily , race after race, as a punter, this will be seen within days, sometimes sooner, & your account will be shuttered because you are taking value from the bookie, i.e. you are doing what they do. Personal view, speaking from experience here, it's not actually worth it as a punter to get shuttered by the big firms coz they give the best prices & freebies tbh. Could probably get away with the odd big arb on a big football match (so there's plenty of liquidity on the exchanges) where there's been a clear misprice but you need to be quick with the lay (as there are plenty in the market trying this & the likes of Oddsmonkey have the tech to show the gaps as soon as events are priced up by the bookies) & have plenty of capital on hand.... not worth the effort as you have to be hitting the sh1t out of every gap to make anything half-decent so it's a drain on your time too. Honestly, as a punter, you are better off opening many many bookie accounts (something I was late to myself) & taking all the bet boosts & free bets on offer.

  21. Morning all. A good day yesterday with three advised winners (one in UK and two in France) at 11/2, 7/2 and 15/8 and so to today. Would emphasise that my selections today I am NOT HIGHLIGHTING as it is an "INTEREST" in the day bet only and none of the bets are strong. All the selections today need to prove their stamina to the yard so none of them are guaranteed to stay their respective trips. I will however put the bet up today in case anyone wants to take a chance with a small tinkle on it for fun. These are my interest plays today: Wincanton 2.15 JACK THE SAVAGE e/w @ 13/2 (unibet) 2 places Decent effort latest at Huntingdon when giving weight to Tramuntana over a shorter trip. Well weighted, and maybe a bit further will be a help rather than a hinderance? Off To A Flyer has been off the track for a good while so has fitness to prove. Newcastle 4.00 CONISTON GEORGE @ 7/4 (generally) Really like the jockey Danny Mack and won well latest at Carlisle so a follow up is definitely not out of the question. Stylish Recruit is also well handicapped but has pulled up last twice so definite fitness doubts there to possibly answer. Newcastle 5.00 WILLIE SHAKE HANDS @ 11/4 (bet365, hills, unibet) Must have a squeak IF repeating latest effort at Newcastle, in all fairness race is not overly strong so current price at time of posting is probably fair enough. Best of luck with your bets today all.

  28. I made just over 11 pts profit yesterday; mainly because I had Destinado which I placed at 16/1. I called Bet365 once again to complain they didn't settle the bet at BOG 22/1. After a lot of hanging on all I was told was that they had made adjustments to my account and BOG along with other offers was not available to me. I checked back through my records and saw that when I opened my account in March 20 I received a £100 enticement to join. In Nov 20 I received a notification that Bet365 had reviewed my account and BOG along with other promotions was no longer available to me. They offered no explanation. All I could see was a wining double for about £30 around that time. They must be desperate. I just wonder if anyone on the platform has had their accounts restricted in this way following a £100 inducement. I told Bet 365 I will be using Betfred more in future as they always honour the BOG price when it is in my favour.

  29. 4.20 Leopardstown, Glen To Glen 10/1 The form of his last run where he won got franked yesterday with runner up winning. That was over 6f . He had two previous runs before that over 1m where he didn’t really show a lot . I did back one earlier today at 33/1 (now 25's) 6 places a small each way and i 'll let the race go, So its SEAN for me has been running in Meydan back here on what i think is a fair looking mark would have liked Saffie to been on top but she is riding at Kempton . It's much the same for me in the Spring mile just the one a small e/w on am ex O'Brien horse 10/1 6places if it drifts when bog kicks in i may have another little bit e/w Oceans Of Dream is the horse with Hollie Doyle on top. 35. I think it's possible to over-think things ..... I sometimes look at a 6 runner race for an hour and end up thinking all of them are going to win ..... then because I've spent an hour on it I reckon I have to do something so I stick the favourite up in Nap of the Day and don't have a bet ,........ Sometimes it's best just to have one angle in mind and quickly flick through several races looking for a horse that meets that particular angle One of mine is ........ a horse who's got closer to winning over it's last 2 runs and has dropped in class today. Very simple, quick, logical !. Don't need to think too much about it !

  41. Morning all. Just another fun bet for me today as no concrete bets to be had and though there is little value in it this is mine for today: Fakenham 4.20 BUSY BEING BUSY @ 10/11 (bet365/betfred) Significant step up in class for this 5 year old but could be the proverbial "thrown in" at the weights if handling the better company. Kempton 4.30 LIONS PEAK @ 6/4 (generally) Drop in trip a question mark and there are other dangers in the race among them being Thank You Blue so price not good to me. Kempton 5.05 VIROFLAY @ 7/4 (hills) CAPTAIN TOMMY @ 9/4 (bet365/skybet) IF the bet is lucky enough to get this far then both horses should be covered in the Kempton finale to land a treble at either just over 11/1 or 14/1. Again, not a great day for a bet on the jumps, Best of luck with your bets today all.

Hello all. Just two advised bets for me on the Auteuil card today with prices short but hoping for good runs from both. If anyone is interested in the bets remember that Bet365 will be BOG from 8 o'clock in the morning if you feel it is worth waiting: (Sunday 30 March) Auteuil 2.15 NEW PRESIDENT @ 7/4 An obvious contender at price which is ridiculously short given 16 runners set to contest the handicap hurdle. Lady Coeur is on a fair mark but will probably struggle if ground is any worse than soft. Auteuil 4.00 GOLIATH DU RHEU @ 7/2 Beaten last time raced over fences but won well over the smaller obstacles latest, very interesting if in same vein of form now back over fences. The double pays just over 11/1 with Bet365 at time of posting and would also recommend a win single on Goliath Du Rheu.

  45. No excuses for the poor runs from all the Thursday selections which were just nowhere near good enough on the day and so on we go. Posting up early as probably going out Friday, so to save time will put up the two jump selections now that I will be playing for my "sticks" interest with brief summaries: Wetherby 3.00 HAREL DU MARAIS @ 13/8 Fontwell 3.45 ZESTFUL HOPE e/w @ 8/1 (bet365) 4 places * win double on both pays just over 22/1 with Bet365. Summary: 3.00 Looks possible match race with Hold Onto The Line, but this looks another good chance for Sean Bowen to register another winning ride. 3.45 TRICKY race indeed and selection may well be much better price on race day in which I will top up a few more quid on the win single bet. Best of luck everyone else with your bets. * Sole French selection up for anyone who wants a look.

They have won 4 of their 5 games since then and the other draw was a 3-3 one against Ebbsfleet last week, but Aldershot should have won. Rochdale haven't won in 4 now and an away win looks a big price here. Only Barnet have got more points than them in the last 10 games. Chorely v Spennymoor Another team in very good form are Spennymoor who have won 4 on the bounce, have only lost twice in their last 10 and are 3rd in the last 10 games form table. Chorley have only won 3 times in their last 9 games and 1 of those was against Farsley. Chorley are 5th, but Spennymoor are giving themselves a real good chance of getting into the play-offs. They look over priced to me for this. Gosport v Wimborne The 3rd team are also in top form at the moment and that is Wimborne. They haven't lost in 9 games and are setting themselves up nicely for next season. Apart from a win over Dorchester, Gosport have not won in their last 6. They lost 4-0 against Bracknell last week and they haven't been in great form themselves. I would make Wimborne favs for this game. Prices from Friday 6pm Aldershot 1pt @ 100/30 with Paddy Power and Betfair (365 are 7/2 and take up to 9/4) Spennymoor 1pt @ 15/8 with Betfred, Skybet and BetVictor (Hills are 2/1 and take up to 6/4) Wimborne 1pt @ 9/5 with Betfred (take up to 11/8)

  48. 5.37 Lingfield - TADREEB 6/1 eway bet365 , 👎 consistent type , thought would be shorter . 4th , broke slowly & had no chance of adding to the already 5 CD wins , handicapper probably has it's number . Looking forward to watching Donny tomorrow , wonder if the heavens will open in South Yorkshire ?

  50. I'll go against @MCLARKE in the 4.42 at Hereford with EVERYONESACRITIC 2nd in what turned into a chase / bumper race with lots of fences omitted ( punters should get the chance to cash out full stake if this happens , it ruins NH Racing though I get the welfare issue ) who's looking to make it a hat trick of wins 7/2 Paddy Power & then later in the evening in the big race on the all weather MOUNT ATHOS 4/1 1st 👍 3 in a row Paddy Power is on the drift but won this race in 2023 & 24 after returning from a break similar to today's renewal .
