Re: NH Novice Watch 2009 Round Up The first at Rasen was a disappointing race as it turned out, just Sergeant Pink and Gwyre made a race of it, the winner battled on well in the home straight and this was a fair effort with a penalty, Gwyre ran ok and might pick up a small race up north. King Fontaine did well to beat off the well backed Tequila Bob, the runner up looked the likely winner coming to the last and might be worth a look next time out. King Fontaine will probably go handicapping now he has a double penalty to haul round. At Leicester Veild looked a smart recruit when taking the 3yo race, always going well and is aiming for the Triumph. Zepnove ran her honest race back in second with the Pipe debutant one paced in third. Dream Risk ran a wierd race and definitely has ability. The later race was very competative and went to the Charlie Egerton runner Dr Livingstone, was well fancied and held off Pearly Steps who must surely win soon. Cheshire Prince ran a cracker with a penalty but Camptho was tailed off after being hampered early on. Rougham won the 3yo race at Wincanton unchallenged, absolutely no idea how to weigh up that race! Spunk trained by Douman will love the ground but hard to weigh up his well beaten 6th in a grade 1 last time. Evening Sunset sets the standard for the home contingent, liked his win last time although he didnt beat much. The Grade 2 race at 2pm looks a fascinating race with 5 runners and wouldnt be that amazed if any of them won. Frascati Park ran well last time before being collared by Reve De Sivola, that was a really good effort, and Like Minded won his debut easily. Manyriverstcross was third behind Inventor and needs to bounce back, heavy ground a worry for me. At Exeter we have one race and it looks wide open with Swincombe Rock likely to improve and Alfie Spinner wont be far away. Re: NH Novice Watch 2009 Round Up The first at Sandown was won by the french horse Spunk but the pace of the race was that slow you cant read anything into it, one thing we do know is that Evening Sunset needs a strong pace and possibly better ground. Manyriverstocross came back to his best to beat Like Minded in the Grade 2 race, he quickened nicely in very soft ground and looks useful, Frascati Park never settled and set the race up for the hold up horses, he's better than this. Alfie Spinner made it a good day for the ratings winning at 6/1 from the fav Swincombe Rock and Humble Ben. Didnt see much of the race because of fog but he seemed to quicken up between the last two and won well, the form looks pretty solid. Re: NH Novice Watch 2009 1210 Weth: 90 Edge Of Town, 88 King O' The Gypsies, 79 Echoes Of Dawn 125 Sand: 88 Sonowyouno, 61 Henry Hook, 54 King Of Leon 1230 Chep: 88 Silver Kate, 87 Victory Parade, 67 Ethiopia 135 Chep: 92 Bally Sands, 87 Strategic Approach, 84 Norwest Preview At Wetherby just the one race and the market dominated by Edge Of Town and King O' The Gypsies, not much between them on form either, I quite liked Edge Of Towns run behind City Theatre, the first four pulled miles clear of the pack that day. The market rival also ran at MRasen when third, he challenged like a winner but found little. Echoes Of Dawn at bigger odds could make the frame. Over at Sandown we have a poor turnout for their novice race and Sonowyouno is the fav and clear form pick, he's won twice but only gets an 8lb penalty such are the conditions of this race so has every chance of defying it. The danger appears to be the Henderson newcomer Master Of The Hall, won a point and placed in a bumper. At Chepstow we have two races, the first looks a straight two horse race between previous winners Silver Kate who was impressive on this ground and Victory Parade who disappointed me last time to be honest in a better race than this. The mare could have the edge in these conditions. The last race is wide open with Bally Sands coming back after a lay off but certainly has the best form, Strategic Approach is steadily improving and should be in the frame but the hat fav is a newcomer from the Nicholls camp, The Begrudger is owned by the Denman connections and is well regarded. Re: NH Novice Watch 2009 Round Up At Sandown the debutant Master Of The Hall beat Sonowyouno in a muddling affair which didnt suit either to be fair, the winner looks useful. Silver Kate was well backed and won easily, loves the heavy ground and is cleary progressing, the newcomer from the Twiston Davies yard was beaten two out. Edge Of Town won his tussle with King o' The Gypsies, ran on really well when pressed and more to come I think. Strategic Approach finally delivered the promise he has shown, the longer trip and soft ground is right up his alley, Bally Sands made a nice comeback and will be sharper next time. Corredor Sun disappointed last time after a fair debut. Jonjo runs a newcomer that is fancied also. The other race there is a real puzzle with a Henderson newcomer heading the market from some fairly ordinary form horses of which Major Harry and Sandynow look the pick of the bunch. At Kelso the first race has only a few runners but doesnt look easy to find the winner, Chasing Clouds was a bit below par last time but does have the form before that, Just Maddy could run well at a bigger price and previous winner Aibrean has done nothing wrong as yet. The 2.50 sees St Killians Run back in action, his run last time was much better than his finishing position and expect more here, the Irish horse Vivaldi could be anything and Red Onion ran well on his debut but needs to have come on for that. Re: NH Novice Watch 2009 Round Up Top three rated in the 12.10 filled the places but fav Screaming Brave was beaten by Corredor Sun after a blunder at the last. One or two better judges than me thought he would have won but for that, but i'm thinking this may be a bridle horse and wont relish a battle, time will tell. You cant blame the ground 100% as without the winner he would have won a distance easing down and then we would be raving about the run, if you think about it the horses he beat at Leicester have been beaten again and the one that beat him at Warwick has been beaten too so maybe the overall form was rated a touch too highly in the first place. Aibrean defied a penalty up at Kelso in fairly good style although the opposition was fairly weak and Hollins was an easy winner of the Maiden hurdle showing improvement from his debut. Sandynow at 13/2 made sure the ratings finished in front again, a nice sort who will no doubt jump a fence in time, not a bad race this and wouldnt be surprised to see one or two in behind come out and run well soon. Re: NH Novice Watch 2009 120 Muss: 99 Amanda Carter, 83 High Ambition, 82, Aggravation 150 Muss: 98 Sunarri, 90 Meridian City, 69 Qollioure Preview In the first race Amanda Carter is clear form pick on her second to Annie May over C/D, a very encourageing run on her debut and should go close. The market is obviously showing support for Dumitas, an irish bumper horse that AP travels up to ride. Of the others High Ambition looks interesting for a place. The second novice race of the day sees winner Meridian City trying to defy a penalty to Sunarri who was really promising at Aintree and then flopped badly in the mud next time, this easier track and better conditions should see him bounce back. Re: NH Novice Watch 2009 Round Up The first race saw Amanda Carter get off the mark, travelled well and took it up approaching the last, drifted into the challenger but didnt make any difference and won by a length or so. The runner up will be more forward next time though. Sinarri was a big disappointment in the other race, after the odds on fav ran out the race was there for the taking but once again found nil when put under pressure, one to avoid but will no doubt pop up at a big price in a handicap somewhere later on when the pace is fast on better ground. The other race looks much more comepetative and a few in with a chance. Fav Ballybach has promised a lot but yet to really deliver although the late progress he made last time was eyecatching in better company. Love Of Tara has a double penalty but is improving and Bangkok Pete has ability to win a weak race. I think Rockandahardplace will like the going and could run well at a bigger price. At Sedgefield the usual low key stuff, Hectors House should win the seller but wont carry any of my money while the other race sees Ballybriggan return after his good second at MRasen, the fourth has come out and won so the form is solid enough. Milans Man looks the main danger and will improve from his debut like most of the stables young horses do. Re: NH Novice Watch 2009 Round Up Disappointing stuff overall, three well backed favs all failing to deliver. Anak fell and Ballybriggan ran no sort of race at all. Milans Man picked up the pieces and won well, was well backed too. Hectors House managed to win the seller without too much fuss. At Fontwell Ballybach looks one to avoid, again travelled ok until two out and nothing was in the tank, he may be a good ground horse? At Leicester the Henderson horse Ranjobaie ran a blinder on his debut when second to a fair sort at Warwick, the forms look ok, just a question about the ground. At Hexham the first race looks more open but fav Whats Up Woody has a good second at Carlisle to his name which does look the best on offer. Only The Best isnt far behind on form and it looks between the pair. Cunning Clarets looks a cut above anything else in the last race and will be very short but cant be opposed. Re: NH Novice Watch 2009 Round Up Two out of three aint bad so they say but Rojabaie's fall at the last when cruising was very frustrating, the third time its happened in this thread now. Second rated Makhzoon went on to win at 18/1. At Hexham Whats Up Woody look well beat at one stage yet battled back to win from Only The Best and Qbuster. The other race saw Cunning Clarets win quite easily in a workmanlike fashion, might find it hard to defy a penalty in better races. 1240 Leics Rajobaie (1/2 WH), 120 Hex Cunning Clarets(1/3 WH) 3pts Double at Even money: lost Stakes: 970.00pts Returns: 952.01pts Profit : -17.99 pts Yield : -1.85% Top Rated Stakes : 386 pts Returns: 401.50 pts Profit: 15.50pts Yield : 4%

The market is headed by two debutants in The Bonus Ball and Kerada who is another well regarded Henderson horse. Tough race to call. The best race for me is the Class 3 event at 2.20, The Betchworth Kid's debut was eagerly anticipated but for didnt look a natural and the race he won was a very weak affair although a Class 3 which means he carries extra weight here, Tito Bustillo ran well in a much better race at Cheltenham and his win at Chepstow was a good effort, it looks a two horse race. The other race at Taunton looks open with previous winners Jau and Triggerman carrying penalties and Upham Atom having a solid run in the book. Bets; 220 Taun: Tito Bustillo 2pts (13/8 PP Bog)

Re: NH Novice Watch 2009 Round Up Happily the early market got it wrong in Tito Bustillo's race, he went off fav in the end and won gamely from the persistant market rival The Betchworth Kid. The slow pace didnt help either horse and will be suited by better ground too. Other race at Taunton went to the Nichoolls camp also, Valentine Vic led all the way and looks a nice stayer and could defy a penalty. Triggerman and Upham Atom ran well to fill the places. At Huntingdon the Henderson debutant Kerada was most impressive when beating Voramar Two by 7 lengths, she looks a useful mare and could be aimed at the Newbury mares final. Re: NH Novice Watch 2009 1150 Don; 92 Bobby Ewing, 89 Menorah, 84 Jack The Gent 1220 Don: 93 Alazan, 93 Bedarra Boy, 92 Descaro 335 Chel: 101 Cootehill, 89 Imperial Shabra, 88 Hideaway Preview At Cheltenham the novice race is dominated by the debutants, Henderson, King and Nicholls all run newcomers and will be a surprise if at least one of them isnt better than the form of Cootehill who has the best form on offer by some way. At Doncaster the first race is fascinating, we have Menorah who won at Warwick from Rajobaie who has run well since against Bobby Ewing who won on his debut then ran a fair race when stepped up in class, he has a 7lb claimer on board which could make the difference. Just to make it interesting Henderson runs a bumper horse which is being backed so should be an interesting race all round. The 3yo race is quite competative for a change with Alazan being the most experienced, well beaten in a handicap last time but before that had decent form. Bedarra Boy ran well at Ludlow and this ground should suit him while the Irish send over Descaro who has a good run at Punchestown in his book. Peace Corps has a poor debut to forget but expect a better show here and Lucinda Russel saddles a debutant with a good reputation in France so may be worth noting in the market. No Bet

Re: NH Novice Watch 2009 Round Up Good day with two winners and a BBOTD EW bet on Cootehill. Alazan was most impressive at Doncaster, was backed in from 7/2 and was always travelling well, the Irish horse also put up a solid performance back in second. In the first race the debutant from the Russel stable was disappointing leaving the race between the two previous winners, Bobby Ewing wore down Menorah between the last two flights and ran on well, the claim from the jockey made a difference here and both horses are decent types and could go on and win a better race. Over at Cheltenham the 'big three' dominated the market and it was the Henderson horse General Miller that outpointed the fav from the Nicholls yard Ghizao, no doubt both are very smart, once again the King stable were disappointed with Lidar running poorly. Cootehill battled on well to take third and is a good yard stick for the formbook. Olofi's form here behind Pistolet Noir reads very well, I was there that day and could have finished closer. Sergeant Pink goes from strength to strength and you cant crab his form although this is much tougher. Ultimate won easily at Huntingdon but you cant really get a grip on the form and Bocamix has progressed well and has form with Sergeant Pink. In the 3 miler there we have Tell Massini running, he was very impressive last time and it will take a real good un to lower his colours. The Nicholls camp have The Minak but will need to step up a lot from his debut. At Doncaster the first race is pretty open but Kingsben sets the mark, his win last time is fairly solid form but again the penalty makes it difficult. Possol looks a good thing in the next race, he won at Ascot very easily and the trainer has found another opportunity here before going back over fences. The last race at Donny is a nightmare and wouldnt touch it with a barge pole, Cesare rated in the 120's at one time on the flat tries his hand at jumping, he could be a class act, there are many that have run up to a good level in opposition and if Cesare can win this he will be aimed at the festival. Re: NH Novice Watch 2009 Round Up From a personal point of view the best day so far this season, Olofi won the 3yo race at Cheltenham in good style, the form of his previous race looks good now. Ultimate found this track very different from Huntingdon but still ran well in defeat. The second George Nympton improved a lot and will be winning soon. Tell Massini was impressive in the 3 miler and looks the best around at this trip. At Doncaster Cesare finished third and cant be written off yet but the winner Alasi defied his penalty in game fashion. The first race was battled out by two debutants, Farleigh House winning nicely from Dhular Dhar who will find it tough on any real galloping track, may be ok at places like Musselburgh. Possol won well again although had a fright up the straight from Truckers Hall who seemed to have improved for his debut and should pick up a race quite soon. The first of them looks a two horse race according to the market, Overturn was well backed on his debut but didnt fire and finished behind Sitting Tennant, that was a decent enough race and will surely come on for the run. Nicholls runs Bold Addition who was second to Meridian City at Aintree over 2m4f, steps back in trip and hard to seperate the two. Previous winner San Marino carries the penalty and although that was no fluke its a big ask. No Wonga may run well at a bigger price. The other race is all about the debutant from the Hobbs yard, hot fav at the moment Wishful Thinking is highly regarded and with only modest form in opposition looks to have found a good opportunity. Bramalea is a very price and could run into a place. Thought about backing the two in the first race but the prices are a bit on the short side No Bet

Re: NH Novice Watch 2009 Round Up Good decision to leave the races alone as it turned out, the first went to newcomer Chain Of Command, he travelled well and took it up going to the last, the runner up Bold Addition put a game performance especially has after the race a serious injury was found, his future is in doubt sadly. Overturn was desperately disappointing for the second time and not sure what the answer is there. The other race was won impressively by debutant Wishful Thinking, came through and ran on well and looks a good one, nothing else really caught the eye but there was more than one poor run in behind so maybe the form isnt much good. Re: NH Novice Watch 2009 105 Plum: 91 Westlin Winds, 89 Anak, 87 Peter Grimes 205 Plum: 96 No Principles, 94 Abbevillian, 91 Aldertune, Dawn Choir Preview Nice races for a wet monday at Plumpton, the 3yo race is fascinating with three winners coming together, the betting has Peter Grimes at the front but the race he won at Bangor was a muddling affair, the second George Nympton has run well in better company since but the stable responsible for that horse does improve them a lot so not going over board about that form. Anak won easily on debut from not much and then fell when long odds on last time so maybe has questions to answer but will go in the ground. Westlin Winds was impressive on his debut, always travelling well and beating Causeway King 10 lengths. The stable remain in good form and will be hard to beat. The other race isnt any easier with at least four that have shown enough to win one of these novice events. Abbevillian has a smart run from last season plus a winning start to this and now carries the penalty. Dawn Choir ran well on his English debut behind Quartano and Aldertune was runner up to the useful Silver Kate which is very solid form. One at a bigger price is No Principles who was second to Larks Lad at Taunton and could improve and recieves the weight. Bets; 205 Plum: Aldertune 1pt (2/1 Betfred)

Re: NH Novice Watch 2009 Round Up The 3yo race pretty much to the way the ratings had it with Westlin Winds leading all the way for a very nice victory, Anak made errors back in second and Peter Grimes was in trouble before two out. Diktalina ran well back in fourth. Abbevillian was made 11/10 fav to win the other race and looked the likely winner for most of the race but Walsh got a response from the hard driven Aldertune up the home straight and mugged the jolly on the run in, good runs by both with the runner up giving away 7lbs. Im not sure about Saveiro's overall form, he was third last time when hot fav and the race he was placed in before that isnt working out at all. Lightening Rod will find this tougher than his win in a weak race last time out. At Folkestone the first race looks very open, Samurai Way ran ok last time after a break and entitled to improve a fair bit and Ashleys Lad can also step up on his third behind two fair sorts last time. Warren Greatrix has another bumper winner making his debut and could be anything. Timons Present steps back in trip alarmingly and Minella Mistake could run well at a decent price. The last race is pretty much a two horse affair with fav Volador having a good third at Ascot under his belt taking on Fabulous Fred who has been placed the last twice and the run behind Watama Bay looks pretty solid. Re: NH Novice Watch 2009 1150 New: 88 Forget It, 78 Nice One Eric 68 Kynsa 1220 New: 94 Veiled, 90 Rougham, 62 Garter Knight 125 New : 99 King Olav, 74 Rock N Roller, 74 Shes A Cracker 310 New : 96 Priors Glen, 94 Candy Creek, 90 Duke Of Lucca 1210 Ban : 87 Black Apache, 79 Black Jack Blues, 70 Rocky Lane 1240 Ban : No Ratings 145 Ban : 79 Flash Harriet, 76 Glebehall Bay, 52 Ruttan Lake Preview 7 races today and caution is the word of the day with nearly all the fav's being debutants from top yards. We kick off at Newbury where Henderson and King go head to head in the first with bumper horses, Forget It may run well at a big price. The 3yo race has two previous winners and hard to weigh up what Rougham actually acheived, he was given a very soft lead last time, Veiled is well thought of by the trainer and is being aimed at the Triumph and won his debut easily at Leicester. McCoy rides a top French horse and Nicholls also has a debutant so it looks a strong race. King Olav ran a blinder behind Invader last time and has by far the best form in the 1.25 race the market leader here is Oscar Whisky a very well regarded bumper winner from the Henderson team. The last race at Newbury is quite competative despite Candy Creek being odds on, obviously the connections are making this a bit short but did win well but Duke Of Lucca and Priors Glen will make a race of it. At Bangor the first race is between Black Jack Blues and Black Apache, the first named ran only 5th on his debut but had won two bumpers and is sure to improve, the latter won a small race well enough but has the penalty to overcome. In the 1240 only Kings Counsel is rated so is best left alone while the last race is best left to the McCain debutant Pedlars Cross who wont have to be anything special to beat those with form. Bets; 1210 Ban: Black Jack Blues 1pt (7/4 PP Bog)
