I need to have a rethink over some of my decisions recently as i have not been happy with the results. Having the Derby winner was a welcome boost but too many losers over the past 10 days. (only 3 winners from last 29 selections!) I have also been studying hard on the WORLD CUP & intend to have a right go at Sports Punter this month with an array of football bets. Cheers Guys. A lot of the runners in this race have been raised quite a few lbs because of lto wins. In a race this competitive, I think the weight will prove their undoing. I'll be looking for some types that have been running well in good company without a big rise in their mark. Should be ok with trip & ground. Wont take a lot of winning. 8.45 Warwick Idealistic 10pts win @ 4/1 Totesport Ignore last 2 runs on ground unsuitable. Trainer pulled this out of the ladies race on saturday & eyes this valuable prize. Only has mango mischief to beat IMO. 9.05 Winds Pagan Crest 10pts win @ 4/1 Bet365 beat Frattn park last week (who has subsequently won at the weekend) & should again go close tonight. I've put it as my main horse and remember you backing it earlier in season at Ponty on a friday night. I was at that meeting and backed Always Fruitful instead but was well impressed with Hellvelyn. It travelled really well, albeit at a steady pace but I read the trainer comments and he is very positive: I have had some good two-year-olds, Monsieur Bond, Misu Bond and Sir Xaar - they were high-class horses, rated in the 100s - and it is early days, but on his homework this is the best two-year-old I have trained. He has done things you would only dream about - he is just awesome at home and he has to work with older horses as he goes so well with the two-year-olds. He will go straight for the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot. I havent lost any confidence in the horse & expect it to run a big race. There is pace on both sides & i hope my old favourite Celtic Mill runs a decent race of those drawn high, but my selection should be in 1st 4 & the value is the large early price. 4.55 SHAMAYOUN 5pts ew @ 14/1 Ladbrokes won at the cheltenham festival on fast ground when running away from its field. has no flat experience but i wouldnt be surprised if Egerton has got it ready on the ground it loves. The bookies are taking no chances with this one. Nicky mackay rides also which is a big plus. Hasnt got any weight which isnt the best stat here but should stay the distance easy enough.
