Re: Bowles Flat Racing bets 2006 sums up my day, Strike up the band runs a decent race to get 2nd! & then somehow gets pipped on the line by Kingsgate prince so no return at all, looked in my favour or at least a dht! i am having a bad week!

Re: Bowles Flat Racing bets 2006 what a shocking day, 2 horses that should have been placed but missed out plus a very poor ride on the short fav. hoping for change of luck tomorrow updated totals Bets 71 Wins 18 Staked 710pts Returns 566.62pts P/L -143.38pts loss

Reasoningwon so easily LTO that the hadicapper has raised 10lbs for the 1.25L defeat of Wooly Bully. The runner up that day franked the form with an excellent shd 2nd in a similar contest over the weekend.

Reasoningvery well bred sprinter out of Lochsong. Bred for speed & should improve for age. Only 2 races as a 2yo finishing 2nd on last start (btn a hd) behind ten downing street at Bath when drawn widest of all runners.
Event7.00 Muss

Reasoninghas the early speed to get the rail here & dropped to class 3 should give a good account. It knows the game very well & young nicholls is an excellent jock. LTO run was excellent when he had subsequent winner Green manalishi behind.

Re: Bowles Flat Racing bets 2006 Nothing to do with horses but I know your a QPR fan, you've just signed our centre back Damian Stewart (Bradford City). He'll do well for you next year, solid at centre back, terrible as a right back.

Re: Bowles Flat Racing bets 2006 That horse you fancied the other day From Dawn till Dusk (Hobbs/Johnson) just ran away with the 8.15 Huntingdon. I missed the 6-4 about it but got a decent bet on at evens. It was still on the bridle when others were rowing away, won well again.

Re: Bowles Flat Racing bets 2006 sorry was out last night, so missed it! 2 losers yesterday & 1 NR (on a bit of a losing streak now!) 1 bet today 3.50 Muss REGENTS SECRET 5pts ew @ SP a hamilton specialist so watch out for it there, but comes down in distance for this race as it normally runs over 9f rather than 7f. I tend to follow the time test figures in the RFO & this one is spotlighted as 9pts clear of rivals which makes it a bet for me. Jockey booking is excellent Nicky Mackay is making a name for himself now.

Re: Bowles Flat Racing bets 2006 4.20 Newm BLUE KSAR 10pts win @ 4/1 Sporting odds the question is, will Goldolphin's horses be ready today. Dettori rides this one who had 2 rides in france last year, notably in a Group 3 where it ended up 4th beaten 2.5L. Heard a whisper that this one will be fit today so will with it especially at the price. 5.25 Newm ACHEEKYONE 10pts win @ 3/1 Sporting odds Meehan's horses are still running well & just beaten a hd at Newbury LTO on g/soft ground. Will appreciate the faster ground today & should go close. 2.35 Newm BOOGIE STREET 5pts ew @ 11/1 Sporting odds won 1st time up last year & is a 5f specialist. Notably it has raced over 6f 6 times & never won whereas its record over 5f is 5 wins & 4 places from 16 runs. Jockey Hughes has ridden the horse on all 5 wins also. 2.20 Goodw DEVERON 10pts win @ 15/8 Sporting odds is tackling the distance for the 1st time here today having won here last term under McEvoy. The jockey rides this course really well & understands the way to time your runs here which is essential. 4.15 Thirsk TOP DIRHAM 5pts ew @ 14/1 Paddy power Likes it round here & loves the fast ground. Only btn a short head by Rohaani round here last July & that horse is now listed class. A repeat of that run will see it go close.

Re: Bowles Flat Racing bets 2006

3.50 Newm SWINBROOK 5pts ew @ 14/1 Hills won easily at leicster LTO, trianer was keen to take it up a class for this event. Well drawn in 25 of 29 & should run well.
My strongest bet of the day Bowles, which is ironic as its such a competitive handicap :unsure. When winning last time out, he looked better than the penalty he gets today. High Reach is the danger, i feel.

Re: Bowles Flat Racing bets 2006

1 more today 4.50 Thirsk MINORITY REPORT 10pts win @ 11/4 Corals (see trainer in form thread) Cumani in such good form that you cannot avoid when he only has 1 runner here.
Bowles is on fire now :clap

Re: Bowles Flat Racing bets 2006 Sundays card 1.45 LEVERA had the favoured high draw LTO & made the most of it to run away from OBebrave over C/D. The runner up has since won nicely also. Open to improvement & will need to show that today, easier ground should be ok as same conditions when it beat Aeroplane last season (winner since). 10pts win @ 15/8 Paddy Power 2.50 HARD TOP disappointed in the ST leger last september but that was on heavy ground. Scorpion won that day, but this race over 12f is ideal for Hard top to make a winning start to what promises to be a potential G1 winning campaign this year. Has the french horse to beat. 10pts win @ 3/1 Paddy power 3.30 WAKE UP MAGGIE split both Donna Blini & Flashy wings over 6f last term & shouldnt be the price it is, based on that. Hasnt done anything wrong to date & just needs to stay the mile which on breeding it should do. Wont mind the easier ground. 5pts ew @ 25/1 sporting odds 5.15 IDEALISTIC won 2 amateur races last year for the trainer's daughter. Cumani in such great form just has to be followed at the moment & again this should go close over its favoured distance with Mackay in the saddle. 10pts win @ 10/1 betdirect 3.50 Hamilton ESTRELLE is one of horses to follow in handicaps this year & shaped well on its re-appearance over 16f. Over 1 f shorter today, hopefully it can do itself justice & get into the frame. 10pts win @ 5/1 Bet365

Reasoningonly off a rating of 61 here, a career low! Raced off 61 LTO also & finished under a length behind stable companion Spanish ace. Its last win came last June off a rating of 73. Has a low draw here & if 2005 results are anything to go by, should have the favoured draw as 12 of 15 sprints last year were won from low numbers.

Re: Bowles Flat Racing bets 2006 interesting card at chester as always 1.50 LORD CHARLES 10pts place @ 2.28 Betfair Not taking a chance against the likely winner Cav Okay who has been touted as the fastest 2yo seen this season. hannon over the years has trained some decent ones & he says it's fast then i believe him. Lord Charles though does not know how to give in which is essential on this track & with the no.1 berth should be on the inside throughout & may surprise the favourite a little. Gilded beat it LTO & that horse went in again last week. 2.20 MONT ETOILE 5pts ew @ 12/1 Ladbrokes Won over the distance LTO when a very strong finishing run got it up on the line, didnt have a clear run inside the last 2f, but switched out, i liked the way the horse found more to win the race. Up in class today but haggas's form cannot be ignored. 2.50 CONTACT DANCER 5pts ew @ 11/1 Blue Sq Third in this last year beaten 2.25L by Anak pekan, & 4lb higher now in the weights. Has been campaigned over the hurdles this year with some reasonable efforts in big fields. Fallon takes his only ride on the day & that's good enough for me at one of his favourite tracks for winners. 3.20 DIVINE GIFT 5pts ew @ 6/1 Ladbrokes Cannot see this out of the top 3 here. 2nd last year behind Tiger Tiger (4lb better off for 2.5L defeat). Ran well LTO at Epsom behind All that & more to finish 3rd. Course form counts here & that effort last year puts this & Tiger Tiger in the frame for me but i cant ignore that 4lb pull in Divine Gifts favour. Captain Marvellous in the final race but those odds are too skinny for a 2yo who was slow out of the blocks first time out, so i will avoid that one.
