StevieDay1983 Posted September 20, 2018 Author Share Posted September 20, 2018 Celta Vigo vs Real Valladolid La Liga has been tough to call this season with only Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Athletic Bilbao managing to avoid defeat so far and we're only four games into the new season. However, in this game between Celta Vigo and Real Valladolid in a 3:15pm kick-off on Saturday at the Abanca-Balaidos it's a contradiction of form in these early season matches. Celta Vigo have exceeded early expectations with 2 wins, 1 draw, and 1 defeat seeing them move to 3rd in the La Liga table due to their superior goal difference. The highlight being a shock 2-0 win at home to Atletico Madrid. Diego Simeone's side have been tipped by many to break the power held by Barcelona and Real Madrid at the top of the table this season. Antonio Mohamed is winning fans with every game but it's a long way to go until the end of the season. Real Valladolid are failing to create any impression in their matches so far. Just 2 points gained from their first 4 La Liga matches is proof of a side that is struggling to have the self belief to win games. Two 1-0 defeats at home to Alaves and Barcelona showed a mixed combination of performances. The two 0-0 draws away from home against Getafe and Girona have shown they could prove harder to beat on the road than other sides down the bottom. However, the elephant in the room is the fact that Sergio Gonzalez's side have failed to score a league goal this season. This could certainly be the game that Real Valladolid break their duck. Celta Vigo might be doing well in the league but they're still conceding more than 1 goal per game. Their focus on attack is keeping their necks above water in games. I can see them winning here but I reckon Real Valladolid could cause them some problems.
