Newcastle 3:45 : Blue Surf @ 16/1 bet365 e/w thanks Blue Surf.....If its blue that will do for me He's a 6yo that's won four times from 1m 2f to 1m 4f on ground varying from good to firm to heavy so if the rain got in on Friday's racing he's capable of going well if there a bit of give in ground, The Amanda Perrett yard have took there time bring horse out after winter break from October till June as they brought him out 21 days ago for first run of the season at Epsom 1m 4f GF where it took lead and ran on inside final furlong to win by a lengths with Pat Dobbs in saddle, Although he's only been the 2m twice he did find the frame once when 2nd at Goodwood but his last race of last season at Curragh he finished 8th of 21 runners on yeiding ground , I feel the yard have targetted this race in mind with giving him only one race at shorter distance and they know he can do the distance ,

Leg 1: 2.35 Newcastle A tricky 6f sprint to kick off with, trainer Richard Fahey took it last year and he saddles course and distance winner Arctic Feeling. The third twelve months ago Kimberella makes much more appeal after two solid runs recently and looks sure to be thereabouts for Dandy Nicholls. Top weight Demora is back down to his last winning mark and shouldn’t be overlooked while Bushcraft has won four of his last five races and looks the most progressive horse in the line up. Selection: Kimberella 14/1 Skybet

W2.45 Tamasha 6/1 Paddy Power This filly by Sea The Stars is clearly well thought of and was backed off the boards on its second run when running in a Listed race last year havning been backed into 9/4 from 6/1. That gives a clue as to the horses ability and after its seasonal debut, should strip much fitter here so looks sure to go close. The trainer is also in way better form now with 3 winners in the last week.

3.45 NEWC GABRIALS STAR @ 16/1 PADDY POWER Been waiting for this to run since the Chester Cup, came from a mile back that day, beaten less than 5l in the end. Interesting that this one hasn't been seen out since suggesting he has been laid out for this. Ground has softened a little which is in his favour and Hamilton takes the ride. 16/1 is a decent price.

Newmarket 4.35 Master The World (6/1 skybet & william hill) If non runner Chester 3.40 Doctor Bong Master The World Has won 2 races both at 1m, but one was a class 2. And although he hasn’t won at today’s distance, he has only tried it twice, once when 5th of 9 beaten 5.25 lengths on soft ground and once when 3rd of 5 beaten 3.75 lengths on good/soft ground, both times staying on at one pace. Both his wins were on good ground so before deciding that he can’t win beyond 1m, I think he’s worth one more chance today on the faster ground. David Elsworth has booked the services of Richard Hughes, which suggests that a good run is expected

Newm 1.45 - Et Toi - win at 50/1 bog Ladbrokes 2yo mdn Going for Meehan's seeming second string here. He's by the Derby winner Pour Moi and has a 3lb claimer up who's won 2 of his last 3 rides for the trainer Meehan's other runner, John Splendid, is the favourite at short odds and has Hayley Turner up Other likely ones - Charlie Appleby's runner Comicas. His runners have been coming on a bundle for their debut runs and he ran 5th here on debut Charlie Hills runner - Ibn Malik - cost a fortune and hasn't got Hanagan in the saddle who seems to have adopted Spencer's policy on 2 year old debutants of yanking them to the back of the field and running on when the race is over.

Handicap (3YO plus), 1m Plenty of interesting runners. Favourite Hasanour is expected by many to run a big race. He probably will do so but has to overcome a big hike in the mark. Others appeal more to me. I like Ger Lyons's Trinity Force. Reportedly he had a wind op over the winter which seemed to have helped as he looked good over 7f this year. Ground and trip may suit. Bolgers maiden winner is another interesting prospect. But for a price I select Burn The Boats to go well. He has a strong record over this trip and needs fast ground and a fast pace to see him to best effect. He's 2lb above his last winning mark but has shown some fair form this year. He was certainly not advantaged at Dundalk on his penultimate start when he travelled much the best but got a run too late. He wasn't disgraced in Listed company at Navan when seen the last time either. It's a tough race, others might be better handicapped and he heeds things to fall right. But at 20/1 Burn The Boats is certainly a price to have an interest in. If he gets a clear run then I expect him to be bang there when it matters. Burn The Boats @ 20/1 Paddy Power - 5pts Win
