Re: Nap of the day competition saturday 5th september G Force 3.50pm Haydock - 1pt WIN - 11-1 BetVictor (BOG) I saw this horse win at York earlier this season and was taken by how well the horse picked up at the end of the race to win going away, displaying a turn of foot to demolish decent opposition, albeit in a class 3 race. He disappointed at Sandown but then ran well again at York to finish 2nd to Take Cover. Disappointed again at Goodwood but I can forgive a horse a bad run there or at Epsom and looked back to form last time out at York. Although the run of Sole Power was stunning and amazed race fans you couldn't help but feel for Danny Tudhope who was trying to follow Sole Power through a gap but got hampered late on and ended up 6th. It would have been interesting to see if they had got out together whether G Force would have had the turn of foot to give Sole Power a race. He has finished races well over 5f, looking strong and Sole Power has yet to win over 6f. G Force is only 3 years old but only gets 2lb from Sole Power despite a 7lb difference in the ratings. Music Master is a huge danger and improving no end too but I'll take G Force here at a nice price.

Re: Nap of the day competition saturday 5th september 14.20 Kempton: September Stakes (Group 3) - Against common belief, the renewal of the September Stakes clearly proved that All-Weather racing can be exciting. An excellent field of seven runners are going to post on Saturday to fight for a decent pot of money on Kempton's Polytrack surface. Godolphin has naturally a very strong hand in this race. They won it last year with Prince Bishop and the seven year old gelding will try to defend his crown, after a very fruitful time in Meydan earlier this year, which resulted in two impressive Group successes. On that evidence he has a very fine chance here, though he has to give an awful lot of weight away to his rivals, which makes this a difficult task. Trainer Saeed bin Suroor has another strong chance in the line-up with last years Cumberland Lodge Stakes winner Secret Number. The Raven's Pass son improved nicely throughout 2013, however had a setback earlier this year and for that reason has been off the track for almost a year now. Will he be sharp enough for this tough test on his seasonal reappearance? Globetrotter Red Cadeaux is never to be underestimated. His performance in the Geoffrey Freer Stakes at Newbury last month was impressive, and he is a consistent Group performer. He hasn't won for almost two years now and isn't getting any younger. It remains to be seen if this race is run to suit him. Fellow globetrotter Dandino is hitting a bit of form finally this season, as his recent runner-up effort in the American St. Leger clearly proved. He won the September Stakes back in 2012 and must enter calculations for sure. The William Haggas trained Batallion seemed to have lost his form completely since he made a winning seasonal debut. It's hard to see him being good enough to have a realistic chance in this excellent field. Winter Derby winner Robin Hoods Bay has a nice turn of foot and is a real All-Weather specialist, he might not be entirely suited by the 12f trip. Arguably the strongest form to offer has the third Godolphin runner, Cat O'mountain. He ran out a fine 3rd in the Dubai World Cup, following on a couple of excellent efforts over there. He clearly seems to relish syntchetic surfaces, as he has done equally well at Kempton as he did in Meydan. Unbeaten in four starts on the polytrack, he rates a big chance to land the September Stakes. According to trainer Charlie Appleby, this race was the target for Cat O'mountain for quite a while. So it would be easy to assume that the four year old will be primed on his first start back in Europe after the successful campaign in Dubai. The only real question mark to find about Cat O'mountain is concerning his ability to stay the trip. He won over trips up to 11f, but did only have one start over further up until now - a fine 3rd place in a Newmarket Handicap when he tired late after using loads of energy throughout the race before. On pedigree he can get the trip, but it is not entirely likely. On balance though, with his excellent All-Weather record in mind, he should have every chance to run a big race here and that makes him potentially the horse to beat. Verdict: Plenty of interesting horses in the line-up. The last two September Stakes winners have to enter calculations, while Robin Hoods Bay really loves the All-weather. Godolphin's Secret Number is potentially a class act if fit after a long break, but it is Charlie Appleby's Cat O'mountain who gets the nod. He has to prove his ability to stay the trip, but on form as well as his preference for synthetic surfaces he must have a very big chance to land the spoils. --- Cat O'mountain @ 3/1 Bet365

Re: Nap of the day competition saturday 5th september 2.40 Haydock Emell ew 11/1 corals Only 2 places up for grabs but like this one to get 2nd at least. Held captain cat by a nk lto by finishing 2nd in a grp2 off level weights and carries 3lbs less today , first run in grp company and raised in OR by 9lbs so looks like the handicapper saw some promise. 4yos won 4 of last 6 renewals.

Re: Nap of the day competition saturday 5th september Haydock 3.50 - Pearl Secret (1pts win, 28/1 Coral) Comes here off the back of a win at Bevereley on ground that was probably as fast as she would want (good/firm) and won well in the end but needs to up her game further here she has placed at Group 1 Level but it would require her best to come out on top, I was quite taken with her effort lto which could signal a return to form albeit in an easier Listed event is drawn in 18 which is a plus imo as I prefer the higher numbers over at Haydock in the big fields.

Re: Nap of the day competition saturday 5th september Haydock 3:50 - Betfred Sprint Cup(Group 1) (1) 6f The Henry Candy trained Music Master is a horse to be taken very seriously here on the back of a neck win in a Group 3 at Newbury last time out. He will probably have to improve a bit to win at this level but the horse is certainly going the right way at the moment. He finished 4th in the Diamond Jubilee at Ascot in June which is form that would put him right in the mix here tomorrow. I think Sole Power's victory last time out was absolutely breath-taking, he looked well beat at one stage as it looked like he could not find a gap through. Once Richard Hughes got a gap, he made up incredible ground in the final strides to get up. His speed is out of this world and he can notch up another Group 1 win. Sole Power WIN @ 10/3 Bet Victor

Re: Nap of the day competition saturday 5th september Kemp 2.20 - Prince Bishop - win at 8/1 bog bet365 Group 3 September Stakes Group one winner in Meydan who has come over to Kempton twice and won both times in a group 3 and Listed races, including this race last year Won this race last year after a similar 6 month break and goes particularly well fresh Does have a group one penalty which means giving weight to the field but he's the class horse Dandino and Red Cadeaux look past their prime, Cat O'Mountain is 4-4 at the track but they were handicaps, Secret Number hasn't run for a year but is a group 3 winner and might prove most dangerous The other 2 look outclassed

Re: Nap of the day competition saturday 5th september 350 Haydock Fancy the 3yo's to run well in the >Betfred Sprint at Haydock. G Force (D.O’Meara) Leading 3yo in the line up. Yet to make his mark in group company but ran well last time behind Sole Power to finish 6th in the Nunthorpe Stakes. Could be a lively outsider. Needs cut in the ground to show his best and drawn 17 of 17. Best price 18/1Coral Selections: EW G Force 10/1 >BetVictor

Re: Nap of the day competition saturday 5th september 3.30 Ascot - 1pt win Battersea @ 8/1 (Bet365) Has a wide draw to overcome but has rock solid form in the book and hopefully if he can get a decent sit can win again. Ran well in all three maidens when looking like there'd be more to come - especially over further. Was subsequently jumped up in trip when just failing to beat the thriving Maid In Rio (at the start of its purple patch) and that form is very good. Stayed on strongly to win over c&d last time out and with still potential for more, 6lbs doesn't seem restrictive for a comfortable success and under conditions that we know are favourable for him.
