I would like to say something about the Nadal - PCB match.

It is true that the handicap line is set very high and it seems that PCB should cover it, but keep in mind that the PCB went deep at the US Open, that he literally played a match against Zverev five days ago.
I guess he flew to Rome the next day which means he lost a whole day on the road. He only had three days to prepare for this match. And there are also factors of fatigue, jet lag and in the first place - the factor of changing the surface.
Changing the surface from hard to clay is one of the most difficult and demanding changes in tennis.
On the other hand, it is true that Nadal did not play a competitive match for a long time, but he trained on clay all the time and had excellent preparations for this clay season.

I'm not saying this to "distract" anyone from their picks,but because it should be kept in mind.

A huge percentage of that large assumption must center around how much Brady really believes in herself and play within the freedom of the invisible mode that has brought her this far. Both players really thrive on playing on the front foot and winning most of their points behind the first serve. Therein lies the equal chance for both.. Brady has a very potent serve backed up by the security of heavy balls on both sides of the racket. I really think that she has more chances of winning than has been reflected by the market.. I will not comment on Osaka aside the fact that I feel that she is too short a price from what I can see. Unless she has solely been priced in the hope that Brady might just be overwhelmed by the whole situation. I think not. Just to add an extra thought. I have this feeling that Serena's chances of making number 24 is predicated on a Brady victory. Alternative handicap Brady +5.5 on paddy power @ 4/11 heavy stakes seems the way to go.

Osaka is the best female tennis player right now. Her best > anyone elses achieveable best. I agree that Brady has been playing better this tournament, the assumption is that that will force Osaka to play better and ultimately come through. I do see a lot of value in Brady and the handicap though as its a large assumption. But similiar to how Serena has been struggling each round and then just raises it enough to get through, the market is assuming Osaka will raise her game enough to overcome anything Brady has to throw at her.

Whoever come as a winner from Cornet - Pironkova tie,stand zero chance against Serena.

4pts Maria Sakkari to beat Amanda Anisimova @ 1.91 Betfred
The bookies have this as a pick 'em match, but I give Sakkari a slight edge. She's the more consistent player in this match-up and she has some good wins coming into this, including against Serena recently which will have boosted her confidence. It's a slight concern she's needed three sets in each of her matches here so far, but Anisimova hasn't had it all her own way either - she went a set and a break down against Scott in the last round before making a comeback. Sakkari is significant upgrade on the American youngster and is far more likely to convert if she gets ahead in the match.

Davis is in a very bad form. She has played 3 matches after the pandemic and she has not won a single set (inlcuding a lost against a total unknown player): K.Scott (6-3, 6-4), Linette (6-3, 6-2) and Samsonova (6-4, 6-1). Cornet has played several matches during the pandemic and she left good sensations in Cincinatti, where she won in straight sets against Mcnally and Kenin. I know Cilic is not at his best form but the conditions here are great for him and he's so much better than his opponent.

I expect a pretty routine job for the Tunisian player. Jabeur was solid lately,i think she have a good mentality and game stability. About Kawa i don't know much but this pick is all about Jabeur and i hope she will deliver.

Yes,he struggled with Caruso in first march,but then he was briliant against both Thiem and Fucsovics. He even served for the match against Raonic. Ymer debuts in the main draw of US Open. Swede player lost to Harris last week,and also lost to Krajinovic in Montpellier early this year by 61 61. Like i said..it's not easy to trust Krajinovic,but with this line and odds i'm willing to take risk

So after this Day we´ve got a little Plus here. TeBe Berlin and Under in Chemie Leipzig-Hertha BSC II are Win - Lok Leipzig was void after late Goal from Jena in 92th Minute. Cottbus and Rathenow was lost....

Krajinovic's game was almost flawless until he served for the match. And then he choked..completely choked. Nerves started to do their thing and once again it turned out that Filip does not have a good mentality for this kind of matches..it's a shame becuse he fought and really played good  tennis and he showed that victory over Thiem was not "one match wonder".
Hope that his coach,Janko Tipsarevic,could work on his mental issues as well as on his game..

As for the Raonic. He was nowhere until the end of second set. But from that time on he was on fire. He gave no chance to Filip. My impression is that he improved his bh for a bit,while his fh is like some missile on the fast surface like this one. Still,he have to do much better against Tsitsipas.

 

Novak was given a soft draw. Isner could be a possible problem in R4 and then Tsitsipas in semifinal. Other part of draw is way trickier.
