This will be De Graafs third Worlds. He has gone out first round in both with averages of 89 and 78.5, the last time, back in 2019. Edhouse has won matches here. Not a great deal, but he has hit 90+ averages and I would be suprised to see it go to 5 sets.

2.5pts Edhouse (-1.5 handicap) to beat De Graaf 4/5 Bet365
    2pts afternoon 4-fold -  Edhouse -1.5, Goto +2.5, Over 3.5 sets Brown vs Krcmar, Wade -1.5 11/2 Bet365

I'm swerving Edhouse. Still remember the collapse against Cameron last year and a repeat wouldn't surprise me. He's not the strongest mentally. Certainly worth considering laying off if he starts well like he did against Cameron.

    Wow, what a performance!

And that from a 82 season avarage?

    Awesome stuff.

How many matches does that average come from though. I've no idea but obviously if it's only a few matches and depending on who he played then it doesn't really mean all that much.

How on earth is Leung 2 sets to nil down. His scoring is really good. The doubling though :\

2 sets down because of unsustainable doubling from Van Veen. Once the doubling from Van Veen dropped off and Leung started to double a bit better, his scoring meant he could mount a comeback. There's hindsight in this statement obviously, but when I looked at this match earlier the first thing I thought of was Barry last year. This is an intimidating stage and if you've not played on it before it can affect your play.

  4. One outright I'll take now is MVG at a boosted price of 5.375 with 365. As @daveg says it's been a relatively quiet season for him, but he still scores with the best and has the advantage of 'been there, done that' when it comes to this tournament. One slight concern is that he's underwhelmed somewhat when reaching recent finals here, but as I can't have Humphries at such a short price and I also can't back Price unless there's no crowd, MVG is who I want to be with at the top of the market. At the very least, he should be making the latter stages at which point his price will look very much like it was worth taking.

  5. I haven't looked at this in much detail yet, but one thing I am sure of is that Humphries is one of the worst prices I've seen in years in any sport. Yes he's in great form, but bearing in mind the rest of the field and the number of matches he has to negotiate there's no way he's a 3 to 1 shot. On top of that, I've not forgotten the match against Lim a few years back. That was an unbelievable collapse and even though it's only one match and he's a better player than he was then, I think horses for courses applies as much in sports as it does in horse racing. What that match told me was that he's not to be trusted on this stage when there's expectation and coming into this tournament the expectation is that he wins the whole thing. I don't see him dealing with that pressure.

India v New Zealand: Kohli and Sharma each to score >0.5 sixes at 5/1 with Hills.

Looks ok to me as a double odds boost, more informed opinion welcome (though my tenner's already down).

That was some boost Harry. I rolled it up with India to win and even with a boost of my own it only came to 5's.

With the best will in the world you're probably better going down the route of the available support for people with a gambling problem rather than coming to a site where, by and large, people enjoy gambling as a responsible hobby. There may be some people here who've gotten into difficulties and can relate more and perhaps provide some useful input but, as I say, there are better routes for you to go down to get the help and support you apparently need.

As it's Safer Gambling week, this would seem a sensible starting point.

Maybe give the helpline a call.

All good advice @harry_rag but personally even if it's just to act as an ear I don't mind someone posting on here. Something less formal than what you suggest might be all someone needs and might make the world of difference.

At these odds, tbh I would rather go against him… Medvedev and Alcaraz can both beat him anytime, maybe also this new version of Sinner can challenge him… yesterday Nole already played a 3 hrs match vs. Rune, it doesn’t look good to me

I can see what you mean @Swami as Djokovic was far from convincing yesterday. However, he tends to find a way - as he did against Rune - and I still think all the other players have bigger negatives right now than he does.

Novak Djokovic to win ATP Finals 2023 at 2.38 with Bet365

With the rest of the field falling away a bit after the US Open, Djokovic stepped on the gas pedal and won the Paris Masters in style, so he should be primed for a win here. Except Alcaraz, everyone seems to have a mental block against him as well, and these aren't the ideal conditions for the Spaniard.

Completely agree. There's question marks over almost everybody else in the field, whilst Djokovic has clearly been aiming himself at this since the US Open. It's a short price, but I can't particularly make a case for any of the other players and so I'll be on Djokovic also.
