I personally do not believe that MVG wants to play Bunting. It took out of this world Darts for him to get over the line against him last time and the game previous to that, he lost.
He'd have preferred to play Hempel I can't argue with that, but I still think that on this stage Bunting will be found wanting when it comes down to it and I wouldn't be surprised if MVG thinks that as well based on previous meetings. If it gets close I think he falters and even if he's ahead I don't think he'll be able to close out. It's good to get different opinions though and different viewpoints on here.

They asked MVG yesterday, whom he wanted to play next. His answer: "Give me Bunting!"
I think that's genuine from MVG. You always want to play someone you've had the beating of previously.

There's no doubt Bunting is playing really well and if memory serves he did bother MVG at this tournament a few years back, but does he really believe he can win this tournament that's the question. I don't think he does and a mentality like that tends to get found out when the margin between winning and losing gets narrower as it inevitably does when the cream rises to the top as the tournament gets nearer to its conclusion.

yeah, at least he had the most 180s, just about. He is now 8th in the 180 count. Problem is he keeps winning 3-0 lol
He's playing well. The heavier darts he's using really seem to work for him. Let's see if he can produce these performances later in the tournament because I've always had him down as not great under pressure.

that's the 7 hit. Went dry for a period there but 6 perfect darts in set 3 take him to 7 180s. Surely one more in the last set?
You'd like to think so. Fingers crossed.

I'm going with a 170 finish in MVG's match at 8.00. Most likely it'll be MVG who hits it - if it's hit at all - but rather than backing him at a higher price I'll back there to be one in the match which means I've got Veenstra onside in case he hits one. He likes a big checkout so you never know. I'll also try Michael Smith to win 4-2 at 5.50. He's not quite at the level he was last year and his opponent is awkward. Both bets with 365.
-
What's that phrase about cows and banjos Chisnall takes out 100 in the first set but no more big checkouts and hits the lowest amount of 180's he's probably ever hit in a five set match. Clemens can jog on as well. Could barely hit a 180 in the last round and then turns on the burners when behind against Chisnall in the 180's.
-
I'll also take Chisnall to win and most 180's at 2.20

I've just got the 365 boost so far, which is Chisnall to hit 2 or more 100+ checkouts at evens.

Evans bet was looking good - but now it looks like he wins in three sets which means there's not much chance now.

Bookies loving that. No 180 winner so they win on both sides. Bad luck for all of us.

Two for me tonight as well. First off, Searle to win but Goto to hit the most 180's looks good so I'm joining you on that one @Fader and at the same price. Also I like Evans to hit over 5.5 180's against Aspinall. From memory Evans is a decent 180 hitter and as I think the match goes to four sets at least I think Evans can hit a fair few 180's. Worth a go at 5.00.

Just one so far for tonight and it's in the last match. Dobey should have too much for O'Connor, particularly as the Irishman hardly pulled up any trees in the last round against a limited opponent and so I'll back Dobey to win and hit the most 100+ checkouts at 2.87 with 365. I'm looking at a couple of bets in the earlier matches but waiting to see who's throwing first.
Missed by a whisker. O'Connor played a lot better than I expected him to.

Just a couple of 180 bets at 365 for me this evening - Clemens over 6.5 180's at 4.50 and Heta over 6.5 180's at 4.00. I don't expect either player to win without dropping at least a set so that should give these lines a chance of landing.
Heta does the business with a 7th 180 in the final leg of the match. Ensures a decent bit of profit this evening after a tiny profit this afternoon.

agree with these. Especially the first. i think we'll see a good display from Clemens. I hope the asian guy turns up with his scoring so that it's a real battle but either way, Clemens is a big 180 hitter and it has every chance
Not even close unfortunately - even with it going to four sets.

I see what you're saying but ultimately it comes down to W and L. No matter what way it comes about, I don't see Bunting getting over the line. I think you have to have the belief when it comes to the crunch against a player like MVG and I don't think Bunting has that.
