  1. I was watching the race on ITV and Jason Weaver said something along the lines of ........ 'there have been approximately half a million throroughbreds born since Frankel and Baaeed is the first one that might equal his acheivements'

Well obviously the fact that he missed the Classics will count against him when they come to place him in the Pantheon but he still has to win five or six group one races this season, including at 10 furlongs, before he's at Frankel's level

Let's see how the season pans out ...... he was mighty impressive today though!

I’ve slowly got out of the habit of going ew now. Win only . I do like to have more than one selection though depending on how many are running and what the ratings are like . Obviously you’re backing a loser guaranteed and if the other wins, it’s eating into your profit . I totally understand why some people only go with one selection and it’s possibly more profitable to go with one.

I guess it's a toss up between winning more often (which you'd hope for with two runners) or winning bigger when you do win but less often !

personally I hate long losing runs and would settle for a higher strike rate at lower returns

I think the only dumb thing with picking two is to pick an odds on shot as one of them because you still lose if it wins

  3. I quite like the idea of backing two horses in a race instead of one horse EW ....... you still get two chances to win but neither of them is a fifth odds

    so here's a few handicaps ......... (all prices bet365)

    Bev 3.51 - Al Qaasim 5/2 and Strangerontheshore 12/1
Wind 3.26 - Majeski Man 10/3 and Silent Flame 11/2
Wind 4.01 - Excel Power 11/10 and Free Solo 8/1
Wind 5.10 - Eton Blue 9/4 and New Heights 10/1

Obviously you're hoping that one or two of the bigger priced ones win !
