    Sheffield United vs Nottingham Forest
The Championship promotion race could take a big turn this Good Friday when Sheffield United host rivals Nottingham Forest in a 12:30pm kick-off at Bramall Lane. The home side are just 3 points behind the automatic promotion places so a win is mandatory to keep up the pressure on Norwich and Leeds.
Sheffield United have started to stumble over the past few league games. Chris Wilder's men have only won 1 of their last 4 league matches. The Blades have still only suffered one defeat in 14 league games but it's now back-to-back draws for the club and it's put a spanner in their promotion hopes.
Nottingham Forest had appeared to be progressing well under Martin O'Neill after his appointment in January. The departure of Aitor Karanka wasn't a popular one with the fans but it seemed O'Neill was doing enough to let them forget about it. Unfortunately, it's now three league defeats in a row for the Tricky Trees and their play-off hopes are in tatters.
As @yossa6133 has said, the value is in a home win. Forest are struggling at the moment and the players are not quite at the races. United still have everything to play for and the home crowd should get behind them enough to push them over the line in this one.

    Napoli vs Arsenal
The next match in line for our previews is the enticing match-up between Serie A side Napoli and Premier League club Arsenal that is set to kick-off at 8pm tonight at the San Paolo Stadium. The English side hold an impressive 2-0 aggregate lead from their home first leg but can they hold onto that superiority?
Napoli have had a decent season by all accounts. Carlo Ancelotti's side are by far and away the second best team in Serie A. It's just unfortunate that Juventus are just on another level at the top of the table. In this competition, they were being touted as one of the favourites but the first leg loss to Arsenal means they have everything to do in this second leg.
Arsenal will be keen to ensure their away form doesn't hamper them here. Unai Emery's men did lay to rest the ghost of the clean sheet issue when they beat Watford 1-0 away earlier in the week. Another such performance would be a stunning result but it feels like if they want to progress then they'll need to score. That would mean Napoli would have to score at least 4 goals to qualify for the next round.
These two clubs have only met once before at Napoli's home ground. It was back in the 2013/14 group stage of the Champions League and it was Napoli that prevailed as 2-0 winners. That score-line would be enough to take this tie to extra-time and you'd have to fancy the Italian side to go on and win it from there. I'm just sceptical Napoli can keep this Arsenal attack at bay for 90 minutes.
The issue for Napoli here is that they don't have a great track record of dealing with first leg deficits. The Italian side have failed to progress on the last 8 occasions that they have lost the first leg of a European competitive knock-out match. The last time they overturned a first leg deficit to progress was back in the 1988/89 UEFA Cup Quarter-Finals when they lost the first leg 2-0 to Juventus but then won the second leg 3-0.
If they're going to upset their recent history of first leg deficits being turned around then they must do it against the King of the Europa League. Emery has won an incredible 25 matches in the knock-out stages of this competition. No other manager in the game comes close to that record. That's why I'm backing Arsenal to get the job done.

    Chelsea vs Slavia Prague
The second legs of the Europa League Quarter-Finals are taking place tonight and we start our previews with the tie between Premier League outfit Chelsea and Czechia side Slavia Prague that is scheduled to kick-off at 8pm in Stamford Bridge with the home side holding a 1-0 aggregate lead from the first leg.
Chelsea obviously have a top four finish firmly on their minds so it could be argued that they will be taking a few precautions in this game with the one goal advantage. Star man Eden Hazard started on the bench in the first leg away so it's hard to see why Maurizio Sarri would risk starting him here when his side are at home and have a one goal lead. They can always call upon him if things aren't going to plan.
Slavia Prague have it all to do and it's no surprise the bookies are already writing them off. Jindrich Trpisovsky's side are 5 points clear at the top of their domestic league so they can afford to ply all their resources into this competition. They need a win against a Chelsea side that are undefeated in their last 14 Europa League matches.
The Czechia club also have a bit of a hoodoo when it comes to English clubs in Europe. Slavia Prague have failed to win their last 8 meetings with English sides in European competition. The last taste of victory against an English club was a win against Leeds in the 1999/2000 UEFA Cup.
The Blues could deliver a slice of English football history in Europe tonight. No club has ever won 11 matches in a single European competitive campaign before. Chelsea currently stand on 10 wins. The only two English clubs to manage that have been Newcastle in 2004/05 and Manchester United in 2002/03 and 2016/17.
Interestingly, Slavia Prague have managed to progress to the next round after overturning a first leg deficit on four occasions when it's happened 12 previous times. Unfortunately, they have gone on to be eliminated on every occasion when they lost the first leg at home.
I have to back a solid Chelsea win here. They've looked very accomplished in the Europa League this season. Sarri will be aware that winning this competition will solve the Champions League qualification issue. Looking at the teams left in the competition, they have to fancy themselves to stand a great chance. The job is 50% done here and I think they'll see it out with a narrow win.

huddersfield are interesting bet and you have to take into consideration there is no pressure on them and are playing at home. they have had nine matches this season where the scoreline was 1-0 for or against them and although they didn't have quite the edge this season to stay up it shows one third of their games were tight. watford are great one minute and awful the next. what can we expect from them on saturday. they will have deeney out serving suspension so i see value on huddersfield nicking this match.
it's been obvious this season that wolverhampton turned up for big games but were lacklustre against lower team. brighton have to regroup and try to be hard to beat this weekend. i can't see them winning this match but a point will solid result for them so i am on double chance brighton and draw

i'm going to try two doubles
i thought eintracht frankfurt was the better team in portugal before they had player sent off. i see them scoring here, rebic and jovic are pretty good pair upfront and hosts can win the match. they leave themselves vulnerable at the back and afterall this is bundesliga where no team is very good defensively so they may concede
napoli was very unlucky not to get on the scoresheet against arsenal in first leg and they always play with attacking intent but also i'm quite aware that unai emery has tremendous record in europa league having led previously sevilla to three titles. arsenal rested couple of players so they are taking this competition seriously but i trust napoli manager ancelotti to find a way to get napoli on the scoresheet. napoli isn't as strong as last year but they will contest this match very closely. they may not go through but i'm willing to say they find a way to edge it something like 2-1 so...
    my selection
eintracht frankfurt and both teams to score
napoli and both teams to score

man city has advantage here as they are hosts and kane will not feature for tottenham but first leg showed tottenham very capable matching the intensity of pep guardiola side but nonetheless man city will win tonight but there will be lots of goals. man city will undoubtedly press tottenham and try to outsource them but tottenham will have to play because if they sit back it's just going to invite man city onto them so we may see open scoring match and possibly 4 or 5 goals.

i like the way sampdoria plays. they are always at it and go for the win and they have a bit of quality too
torino has everything to play for and one win could put them within a chance of securing champions league place
fiorentina are abysmal. i watched them last week and they are average looking team and i didn't sense they have the quality needed to win games. they haven't won many matches this season but they changed manager but whether he can inspire them to win is questionable
juventus is 20 points ahead in the league and after champions league game in midweek i would rather avoid this match in case they have trouble raising their game. spal can score goals and juventus may get caught
napoli is out of form and playing badly so i would avoid this match and they won't be helped by the fact they played on thursday and chased the game most of the match against arsenal
inter milan must win this game and i think they will. i wouldn't read too much into frosinone win over fiorentina last week. icardi is back playing for inter milan and top four finish will be in their minds
i'm really tempted to back parma in some way but i'm not sure if we've seen the best of parma this season. there was time when they managed good wins and scored against top sides. sassuolo are solid on their day but best bet for me again is btts

i'm going to try burnley, everton, southampton treble and the reasons
burnley played their best game of the season last week. it's time to put nail in the coffin of cardiff hopeful. cardiff didn't do enough to stay up this season. there will be good feeling in the burnley camp after their performance last week and another win is more than likely
everton has improved 360 defensively and teams are finding it very difficult to break down. arsenal couldn't do it on monday and everton has won last three without conceding. they should be able to pick this fulham team in same way
wolverhampton will be downspirited after missing out on fa cup final and it comes at right time for southampton to pick them off at home.

    Huesca vs Barcelona
La Liga throws up a very bizarre set of odds this coming weekend when bottom placed and out-of-form Huesca host champions elect Barcelona in this 3:15pm kick-off at El Alcoraz on Saturday afternoon. Even with the expected rotation by the visitors, are the odds too good to be true?
Huesca are propping up the Spanish top flight on just 24 points. It puts Francisco's side 6 points from safety and without a win in 5 league games survival hopes are fading. That being said, the club has shown the form of a mid-table side since the start of 2019 with 4 wins, 4 draws, and 6 defeats in the league.
Barcelona could well throw out their reserve side here. The La Liga title is all but sealed after last weekend's win over rivals Atletico Madrid. The priority will undoubtedly be on wrapping up the Champions League Quarter-Final tie against Manchester United at the Nou Camp in midweek. It's hard to even bet against a back-up Barcelona side though.
The home side have only won 3 of their 15 home league games. The best they can hope for here is a draw but I'm still of the opinion that even the reserve Barcelona players should get the job done and are worth backing at these odds. We could see mistakes, goals, and drama but Barcelona will be ruing a missed opportunity to move a step closer to wrapping up the league if they don't win.

    Portsmouth vs Rochdale
The League One issues at both ends of the table need to be resolved and they are both in play here when promotion-chasing Portsmouth host relegation-threatened Rochdale in a 3pm kick-off on Saturday at Fratton Park. Will the form book dictate the winner or will we see an upset?
Portsmouth are only 3 points behind the automatic promotion spots in 4th place in the table. Kenny Jackett's side also have a game in hand on 3rd place Barnsley but unfortunately that one match advantage is not the same for 2nd placed Sunderland. Pompey have won four league games on the bounce scoring 10 goals in the process. They only have the 6th best home record in the division but have still only lost 3 matches on home turf in the league.
Rochdale are arguably punching above their weight in 19th place with many tipping them for relegation before the season started. Brian Barry-Murphy has replaced Keith Hill as manager at the start of this month and the result has been a hard-fought 2-1 loss at home to Sunderland followed by a gritty win away to Accrington. It's left the Dale 2 points above the drop zone and with a fighting chance of survival.
The bookies clearly fancy Portsmouth to win this and it's easy to see why. I don't think Rochdale will make it easy for them here and will likely set up for the draw. This is a Pompey team that are frightening on the attack right now though and if Rochdale think they can batten down the hatches for a point then they'll be on a hiding to nothing. Home win and even more Portsmouth goals being scored!

    Aston Villa vs Bristol City
The pick of the matches in the Championship this coming weekend is the battle of the in-form sides at Villa Park when Aston Villa host Bristol City in a 3pm kick-off this Saturday. Both sides are vying for the play-offs but at least one side will drop points here. Who will it be?
Aston Villa are on the run of their season with the winning streak now stretching to 7 straight league games. This rich vein of form has seen Dean Smith's side rise to 5th in the table. The automatic promotion spots are all but an impossibility. However, a strong seeding in the play-offs is now the aim. Just 5 league games left and they're only 5 points inside the play-off positions.
Bristol City are also on one of their hot runs of results at the moment. We've spoken before about Lee Johnson's side blowing hot and cold for periods all season. The Robins are now 5 league games unbeaten and it's helped to move them up to 6th in the table. They're 4 points ahead of 7th placed Middlesbrough but they also have a game in hand on the Teesiders.
Villa boast the superior record in the recent head-to-head matches between these two sides. City have only won 1 of the last 7 meetings between the clubs and that came back on 27th August, 2016. The last time City won a league game at Villa's place was back on 25th August, 1979.
It won't be any easier reading for City fans when they see that Villa have only lost 3 times in their 20 home league games this season. It's also just 1 home league defeat in the last 8 matches played at Villa Park. You fast get the feeling that City could be on a hiding to nothing here.

Fancy Southampton to beat Wolves and at odds of 2.7 (betvictor) i'm more than happy at that price.
The main reasoning being Southampton's form has picked up, only losing to Man U and Liverpool in the last 5.  They were competitive in both those games as well.  Saints still need another win or two to be assured of safety so have plenty of motivation to get a result here.
Wolves are great against the top 6, but not so good against the rest and after the cup defeat they must be deflated, especially the way they lost it.  I just don't see Wolves turning up for this one and I think Southampton will get the win.

    Swansea vs Brentford
The extended Championship thread throws us one last preview this week with the focus being on mid-table duo Swansea and Brentford in this 7:45pm kick-off at the Liberty Stadium tonight. Promotion and relegation now appear out of the question for both sides but there's still pride and progress contributing towards next season to play for.
Swansea fans will no doubt have mixed feelings about this season. It could have been a far more positive season with off-field turmoil leaving a dark cloud over the club but things certainly could have been a lot worse. Graham Potter has worked miracles with a skeleton squad and it has to be asked what could have been if the Swans board had actually backed their manager with a transfer kitty in January. The club is in 15th place so the rebuild begins now.
Brentford continue to show glimpses of evolution under Thomas Frank but consistency is still the problem. It's now three league games without a win and no goals scored in those three matches. The Bees are just a couple of places above Swansea in 13th place but only the most optimistic of fans will feel they can make a late push for the play-offs with the club 9 points off the pace.
The Swans have won their last six matches against Brentford across all competitions. Brentford have also lost 5 of their last 6 away matches against Swansea. The hope for Brentford fans is that Swansea are currently on their worst run of four straight defeats in all competitions since May 2018 when they suffered five losses in a row as they dropped out of the Premier League.
I think this is a game where Swansea could turn that losing streak around. Brentford are awful on the road with just 2 wins from their 19 away league games this season. Swansea are unbeaten at home in the league since 28th December, 2018. I'm backing the home win.

marseille seems like way to go. they are playing at home and win would keep them within a shot of champions league. i can't see them slipping up at this stage of the season
caen are completely out of their depth monaco gotta win. with the return of jardim he has actually got them back on form and win is very important for them.
i don't think nantes has got enough quality to win against lille. lille has been exciting in front of goal this season. i can see them scoring two goals and taking the win

parma on handicap is well worth a go. they are quite free scoring sides and i expect goals as well since atalanta has a knack for scoring as well
inter milan without a doubt spalletti is constantly under pressure and anything but a win and he will be out of job. i don't like how lazio plays this season. they are nowhere near as effective or clinical as last season. home win
fiorentina my pick also. torino lost last time to bologna and to me suggests poor form.
