  1. Alexis Galarneau to beat Donald Young at 1.65 with bet365

I've watched Galarneau's last couple of matches. I have to say that I'm impressed at how well he's been playing. The young Canadian possesses many weapons in his arsenal, contrary to his opponent, DY, whose skills are very limited. His ranking is #325 in the world. He reached his career high (#38) almost a decade ago. Their h2h is 1-0 in favor of Galarneau (3-6, 6-3, 6-0). DY got bageled in the deciding set as you can see (on outdoor Hard).

    I add this one.

Olmos (+6.00 Gamest) to beat Podoroska at 1.67 with Pinnacle

I think the line is just to big. Olmos has already played 2 matches here and she beat Sherif in straight sets (Sherif was priced at 1.20). Podoroska did not end well her australian season. She lost easily against Vekic in the 2nd round of the AO (6-2, 6-2) and in the 1st round of the Phililp Island Trophy against Begu (6-3, 6-3). Olmos is better known for doubles but I have seen her and she's not a bad player on singles despite her ranking. Podoroska last match was against Begu and it was 1 month ago. Considering Olmos has already played 2 matches here (including a win in 2 sets against Sherif) I think she can cover this handicap. This match starts in 1 hour.

Thanks an awful lot man. ??✌️✔️

that’s saying Ronnie is going to win because of the difference in quality though, isn’t it?

Look, in my opinion there is a profound difference in quality between the two players... Okay, prior to this match, Lisowski might have had a 5-10 percent chance of pulling off the upset, which isn’t exactly a zero percent chance. In fact, that’s roughly the same odds that it's raining in downtown LA (read this on FiveThirtyEight lol).

yeah, doesn't really work like that though, does it? best player doesn't win everytime.

Didn't say it works like that every single time. I just called it, I was feeling very confident that something like this would happen. And it happened. Like I said, there's an abyss between Ronnie and Lisowski.

  5. Karolína Muchová (+1.5 sets) to beat Ashleigh Barty at 2.2 with bet365

Muchová has proved that her game is much more versatile than we might initially had thought. I didn't expect her to beat Mertens but she did so in straight sets which was quite impressive ?, no matter how much Mertens choked lol. I think she may cause serious problems to Barty, who relies on her slices way too much imo. I'm not saying she's a one-dimensional player of course, I'm not insane, but I just feel that this isn't gonna work every single time. Eventually she'll face a player more determined to exploit the fact that Barty constantly slices the ball due to her weak double handed backhand. I think that player will be Muchová, who's also the only European player remaining in the tournament. Is she capable of winning at least a set today? I think so.

Daniil Medvedev to beat Andrey Rublev at 1.4 with bet365

He's simply way better than Rublev. I can see a straight set victory as well, why not. Medvedev should be considered the #1 favorite to lift the AO trophy imo.

  6. Karolína Muchová to beat Jelena Ostapenko at 1.57 with bet365

Ostapenko has a career-high WTA ranking of No. 5 in the world, but her current ranking is... #47. In general I consider her very inadequate as a player; her weaknesses are just too exploitable I believe. At least certainly by players like Muchová (current ranking #27), who's in decent form and wants to go deep in this AO.

Sam Querrey to beat Lorenzo Sonego at 1.9 with bet365

The Californian big guy is surely not at his best, but there's almost a pattern with him when it comes to his results in Melbourne specifically. He tends to reach the 3rd round very often (2007, 2008, 2013, 2014, 2017, 2020) and I'm pretty sure that he didn't participate in a few AO during last decade. Anyway, I feel he's motivated to do an extra step in 2021, and the first Hard-court slam of the season is a great chance for him to do so. On the other hand, I don't think Sonego is anything special as a player in men's tennis, let alone on hard courts. Sometimes he gives me the impression that he relies on his - annoying- grunting getting the job done (intimidate the opponent) rather than his actual game itself.

    Good luck.

Good shout, I hope you had money on it!

Please, please, PLEASE let Anderson beat Price tomorrow. I don’t remember ever disliking any other sportsperson more than I dislike Gerwyn Price.

Thanks, I had placed a 40€ bet on both guys to win.

I don’t fancy Bunting to beat Price - Bunting versus Chisnall would not be the final the PDC World Champioship deserves - that’s more of a BDO-level final. Two high-scoring bottlers.

I don’t mind Dave Chisnall making the final, but surely not the pair of them!

On the other hand, I would hate it if Gerwyn Price ever won the World Championship, so I’ve not got many satisfactory outcomes available here!

Don't worry, Gary Anderson will lift the trophy ?

  9. Ratajski to beat Bunting at 1.5 with bet365

Anderson to beat Van Duijvenbode at 1.8 with bet365

Gurney to beat Price at 3.00 with bet365

MvG to beat Chisnall at 1.2 with bet365

Gurney is definitely back to his best form so I can see him beating Price today. Ratajski is way better than Bunting so he should come through here. Anderson ? vD hmm obviously both very good players, but in the end I believe Gary will prevail somehow. Not much to say about MvG, he's the clear favorite to win the whole thing, let alone tonight's match against Chisnall.

Wishing everyone a happy new year, health and happiness to all of you guys.

    4pts A.McManus to beat Guodong 6/4 bet365
    4pts M.Stevens to beat D.Gilbert 5/4 paddypower

Stevens to beat Gilbert? A bit odd maybe? I know Gilbert is out of form, but still.. He's much better than Stevens on every aspect of the game. Anyway, good luck of course ? ? McManus was a great pick. ?
