  1. Do you fancy Peter Gojowczyk to beat Jenson Brooksby in straight sets?

I was impressed with his stats:

Gojowczyk's 1st serve points won vs Mitchell Krueger - 82%

Gojowczyk's 1st serve points won vs Vasek Pospisil - 88(!)%

Grass is Gojowczyk's turf, and he seems to be in good shape, so I'm placing a bet on a straight set victory for the German at 3.65 with Stoiximan (Greek betting company).

Yep. That first set of the Zverev-Fokina match was really bad. Zverev has not been challenged at all during this tournament. He only has faced weak players and players who were not in the best physical conditions. One of the best backhands on tour but if he starts to struggle with his forehand and his second serves as we have seen many times on him there will be no match. Tsitsipas has destroyed Isner, Carreno and his worst nightmare, Medvedev. Tsitsipas is the first ranked player in the Race, the player with more wins on clay this year and he dominates the h2h (5-2). I know Tsitsipas is in a great level in this tournament and I base that on the players he has beat and the way he has beat them but I'm not quite sure in which point is Zverev here. We'll see.

I generally agree with your analysis and your prediction on the outcome of the match. You don't seem to give any credit to Zverev concerning his R4 match against Nishikori though. Kei was more than decent, he appeared very ambitious at the beginning of the match, but Zverev's performance was really outstanding. He was murdering the ball. Ruthless. It's clear to me that he has evolved as a player. Anyway, mental fortitude will be the key on both semis today. Let's see what happens.

A few interesting stats so far:

    Aces: Nadal 23, Djokovic 40

    DFs: Nadal 20, Djokovic 11

    Winners: Nadal 165, Djokovic 192

    UEs: Nadal 134, Djokovic 122

Time spent on court: Nadal 11h 46mins, Djokovic 12h 34mins

    BPs convertion: Nadal 49,3% (33/67), Djokovic 63% (29/46)

    BPs saved: Nadal 50% (11/22), Djokovic 86,4%(!) (19/22)

  4. Amanda Anisimova to beat Veronika Kudermetova at 2.00 with bet365

I think the young American girl has been immensely underestimated here. Yes, she has certainly failed to kick on since her breakthrough in 2019, but a very unfortunate event in her life affected her so much - the shock death of her father and long-time coach Anisimov, who suffered a heart attack just before the 2019 USO. This family tragedy, combined with the fact that we then entered the COVID-19 era stalled her further rise in women's tour. It seems that it's just a matter of time for Amanda to reach new highs and achieve big things in the sport.

Last year she reached the 3R of the FO, losing to Halep (top seed) in straight sets. Recently in Parma, she won her first two matches (1R-Paolini, 2R-Smiedlova) in straight sets before losing to eventual champion Coco Gauff. Kudermetova looks to be in good form as well, as she defeated Mertens and Caroline Garcia before losing to Barty in straight sets in Rome. Veronika has respectable results on clay. She doesn't possess the same firepower on her shots as her opponent but she's solid from the baseline. The sensible thing for her to do will be to stay in the rallies as much as she can, forcing errors from Amanda's racquet. However, I feel that Anisimova will turn up very motivated and thirsty to win today, which might be enough to control the fate of this encounter. Her forehand is so versatile, it allows her to create all the angles she wants from the back of the court. Her recent losses to Sakkari in Madrid and Svitolina in Rome shouldn't disappoint her too much as they both are very strong players. I'm gonna go with Amanda in Paris guys.

  5. Opinions on the mens' Final? I'm leaning Djokovic for a handful of reasons.

    - The guy really loves to play in front of a crowd, let alone an italian crowd.

    - Historically, it's by far Novak's favorite clay court event. Nowhere else does he enjoy the success he's having here in Rome.

    - His overall decline is slightly more gradual than Nadal's.

    - The odds have underestimated him an awful lot. I find the odds quite ridiculous tbh.

    - I believe that Djokovic is superior to Nadal in most crucial aspects of the game (trying to be very objective).

    Better serve: Djokovic

    Better bh: Djokovic

    Better fh: Nadal

    Better returner: Djokovic

    Better overhead smash: Nadal

    Better volleys: Nadal

    Better retrieving skills: Even

Better slice & drop shot: Nadal

    Better footwork/agility: Even

I apologize to Darko, and i hope he didn't read my post.

Today, my double is Nadal and Berrettini.

Reasons for Nadal. I am impressed of what i have seen from him yesterday against Carreno. He absolutely ruined him, playing almost perfect game. Tsitsipas in red hot shape. But today he can't do a lot against the improved Nadal.

Reasons for Berrettini. He is also in red hot form, super powerful game, against the Russian who saved 23 break points - very unusual for any player to achieve something so terrific against Djokovic- however is not every day the lucky day. His lucky day was yesterday, today he will lose to a stronger player.

P.S Nobody holds the keys of truth. I might be proved wrong at the end of the day, but i have self confidence for my predictions

    Lets see.....

Agree with you on the Belgrade final. Totally disagree on the Barcelona final. Wasn't impressed at all with Nadal's performance. I think his level of play remains inadequate and players like Rublev (Monte Carlo) and Tsitsipas are more than capable of beating him on clay these days. Anyway, let's see what happens.

  7. Emil Ruusuvuori to beat Pablo Cuevas at 1.6 with bet365

After dominating the Challenger Tour, the young Finn has showed tremendous potential to become at least a top-30 player in ATP Tour. He has already defeated the likes of Thiem and Zverev (both wins on hard court) which is very impressive. I think this kid is very ambitious. On the other hand, Cuevas honestly looks like a former tennis player. He seldom wins sets these days, let alone grab wins. At 35, Cuevas is inferior to his opponent, and, probably devotes less hours in practice than he used to.

Frances Tiafoe to win a set against Carlos Alcaraz at 1.61 with bet365

Alcaraz is very talented but he's also very immature as a player, which makes sense since he's only 17 years old. In my opinion, he should have been just the slight favorite in this encounter. The odds on Tiafoe are juicy & generous at the moment. Did he travel from the United States to Barcelona with zero ambition? I seriously doubt that. He'll probably try in a way to somehow bully his younger opponent right from the start of the match, otherwise things might quickly get ugly for him. Tiafoe needs to stamp his authority from the start. He certainly has all the weapons to do so (firepower, quality serve, speed, great footwork).

    Good luck. ?

Well, Rublev has done way more that Tsitsipas to get to the finals and that's why he deserves to be the favourite. It's hard to gauge where Tsitsipas is at. If I'd have to bet, it would be Rublev.

Yes, but Rublev has played many grueling 3 set matches and I'm wondering if this has finally taken a toll on him. Also, Tsitsipas is more versatile as a player and clay has always been his favorite surface. These things kind of neutralize the match for me.
