    2.55 Chelm Woven 10/3 (£2 win at 4.5 = £6.86 Betfair

    =======================================================================================================

    Only one winner in my Trixie (wish I'd been brave enough to include Soghan my saver bet).  Hence £4 loss and balance C/Fwd £680.69 (£800 Bank)

    Only my saver bet won and returned £9.60 hence a profit of £4.40 on the day.  The balance C/Fwd is now £287.10 (£400 Bank)

    Only 5 class 4 races and one class 3 race tomorrow in the UK from 4 meetings; pretty grim fodder for us punters I say

    Two more favourites let me down for my Trixie.  Hence a £4 loss.  The balance C/Fwd is now £684.69 (£800 Bank)

    With the singles I was just having some fun with Jockey bookings today.  I had two winners and the return was £5.00 This meant a loss of £8.70 on the day.  The balance C/Fwd is now £282.70 (£400 Bank) Can't laugh that off.

    From tomorrow I will be back to some sort of normal, however, all my bets, multiples or singles will be on selections where I can obtain a minimum price of 7/2.

    3.45 Doncaster - 1pt e/w Hypothetical @ 10/1 Bet365

    I do love your write ups as this helps me to think about reasons for bad runs by horses and then possibly excuse them and consider backing them. Great work by you and many thanks.

    No Singles winners today so a £3.50 loss.  The new balance c/fwd is £295.90 (Bank £400)

    Plenty of class action at Doncaster tomorrow.  a few good races at Uttoxeter too

  10. One Trixie today

    3.20 Leic Sansevero 4/1
    4.30 Win Spoof 4/1
    4.55 Leic Bright Smart 5/2

    £1 win Trixie = £4 v poss return of £147.50

    Focussing on "lay" bets for September so not so much time for win bets

    ============================================================================================================

    Only one winner today.  Sansevero ran an awful race and Bright Smart was not so smart after all finishing second.  A loss of £4.  The balance C/Fwd is £690.69 on the multiples (£800 Bank).  The singles balance remains the same at £299.40 (£400 Bank)

    I was focussing on my "lay" betting criteria today.  I looked at the lower class races at Lingfield.  Had I laid my selections I would have had to endured two 4/1 and one 3/1 winner.  Not a good start .  Funny enough I am beginning to think that I need to concentrate more fully on the shorter priced favourites, even those in the higher grade races, and especially the ones where according to the sporting press seem to have the best chance of winning.

    I think your over complicating things and why is it Timeform's responsibility to give you that sort of information??

    They are not working for the punter, just selling a product, if anyone it should be likes of the BHA.

    Anyway the size of a horse makes little difference, you get small chasers and big sprinters.

    I don't see why you say I am complicating things.  I wouldn't try and drive a Rolls Royce Silver Shadow around Silverstone just as I wouldn't want to put my money on a big long striding horse around Chester.

    The product that Timeform sells is supposed to be to help punters find winners using the information that they provide.  There is so much drivel about the horse's breeding and imo not enough about the attributes of the horse itself which could help punters in trying to make a profit on their bets.

    The physical abilities of a horse and how it is affected by its size and attributes, to me, is very important.  The data is out there but as I have said, it does not seem to be available to us armchair punters.

    Swings & Roundabouts.

    I'm very lucky because Kirtling WON by a nose , he's about 17 hands & his rival 15 , massive size difference & the bob won it ?

    Very interesting that you have knowledge of the size of Kirtling.  Is there a website that shows these details?  I have always felt that Timeform let's us armchair punters down by not giving such information and as to whether the horse has the type of action for fast ground or that it is a big striding horse that is suited to galloping tracks etc.  Also, I feel that they should update these sort of details about a horse as it matures and gets older.  Would be great to find a website that could give me that kind of information.

  13. One Trixie today for £1.50 = £6 v poss £61.36

    1.00 Yk Mamba Wamba 5/4
    2.00 Yk Dakota Gold 11/4 (£2 at 4.6 um at 4.2)

    2.45 Font Talking about You 50p win at 9/1

    Total multiples = £6

    Total singles stakes = £10.50

    Total stakes = £16.50

    ======================================================================================================

    Only one winner in my Trixie today.  That Starman who beat Dakota Gold looks something special.  Awful run by Orchestral Rain.  from tomorrow I will revert to higher priced horses for my multiples and drop the stake down to a £1 Trixie.  I don't feel any benefit from backing the disappointing shorter priced animals.  A £6 loss and the balance c/fwd is now £694.69 (£800 bank)

    Frankenstella obliged at 100/30 (should have included that one in my Trixie instead.  Talking About You was returned at 12/1 so a priofit on the day of £4.82.  The balance C/Fwd is now £299.40 (Bank £400)

    Small bits of class action tomorrow but I will probably need to look at class 4 races if I wish to bet on a Trixie.

    I really want to start "laying" horses  for about £21 per transaction very soon.  I will be looking at class 5/6 handicaps and at odds between even money and up to 5/1.  The worst scenario will be a £100 loss on a 5/1 shot.  I feel that I have to do this and this is the only way I can make some real money in the future
