    Total Stakes  = £22.50

    Back later with look at the handicap racing

    ===================================================================================================

    Only Fancy Man obliged for me with my two Trixies so a loss of £8.  The new balance is £700.69 (£800 Bank)

    My saver bet on Mighty Gurkha only prevailed by a nose so that eased the pain of a complete wipe out.  This meant a loss of £6.50 on the day. The balance c/fwd is now £294.58 (£400 Bank)

    Some class action at York tomorrow so maybe I'm in for a change of fortune ?

  2. One late Trixie today

    5.15 Ham Two Bob Cop 5/4
    6.30 NAb Tequany 2/1
    7.00 NAb JaytrackParkhomes 11/5

    One £1.50 win Trixie = £6 v poss return of £67.73

    Other bets:

    5.15  NAb Polastri 50p win at 8/1

    5.30 NAb I'm Here £1.50 win at 3/1

    7.00 Nab JaytrackParkhomes £1.50 win at 11/5
    7.00 Nab Lord Brian 50p win at 20/1

    = £6 multiples

    = £8.50 on single

    = £14.50 total stakes

    ============================================================================================

    I got two in on my Trixie.  I hate feeble excuses like the one given for JaytrackParkhomes; the horse should not have been running and I feel for all the punters who backed it into 9/4 favouritism and didn't even get a run for their money.  Anyway the double paid £10.13 hence a £4.13 profit on the day .
    The balance C/Fwd is now £708.69 (£800) Bank.

    Only one singles winner for me today for £2 at 2/1.  Therefore £6 returned from £8.50 outlay = - £2.50 loss.  The balance c/fwd is £301.08 (£400 Bank)

    Had I been backing each way with my singles I calculate that my loss on singles would have been -£3.53 = -£1.03 worse off today.

    Looks like @Bathtime For Rupert followers would have been in surplus by 11.40 points by his ew suggestions v 7points had all been backed to win instead.  Hence early days to prove whether each way betting is a mugs game @MCLARKE excluded of course.

    Five race meetings tomorrow and very little class action.  Be prepared for more unreliable horses such as JaytrackParkhomes in class 4 races

    If you bookmark this link and check it out on Saturday you should see something like Sir Puntalot KO cup 2pm deadline come up.  Posted by Graham (BillyHills).  It isn't there yet but will be there in good time for your entries.  Good luck

    Ok people i have been searching round for ko cup rules and how to play for 30 mins and got nowhere seen lots of KO cup stuff but i must be missing something. tiz ok chaps i have found it/them.

    Glad you have found them now and all you have to do is post up your 3 entries next Saturday.  A possible tip for you is to make sure that you include a couple of short priced favourites in your selections to get through to the next round.  I only say this because I know that many of your usual selections are normally at decent odds.  However, please do what you think is best.  The KO cup is fun to play anyway.

  5. Late to the plate today and to be honest some of my selections have already run.

    One Trixie for £1 = £4 = poss £57.68 Return

    3.35 San Arecibo £1 win at 9/4
    5.15 San Arabic Charm £1.50 at 85/40
    6.25 San Moomba £2 win at 15/8

    Other bets:

    3.35 San Recon Mission £1 win at 11/4

    5.15 san Mr Poy 50p win at 9/2

    5.50 San River Dawn £1 win at 9/2
    5.50 San Al Namir 50p at 9/2
    5.50 San Motawaafeq 50p at 11/1

    Total Multiple stakes £4

    Total singles stakes £8

    Total stakes = £12

    =========================================================================================================

    I used to worry when I had a blank day, I don't do that anymore; it's all just part of the ups and downs of racing

    Lost £4 on multiples so the new balance is £705.56 (£800 Bank)

    Lost £8 on my singles bets so the new balance is £303.58 (£400 Bank)

    Not too much class action tomorrow so I may have to look at some class 4 races to make the numbers up

    Each way betting can be very profitable but like everything else you have to be selective, the shape of the betting and the number of runners / places available are key.

    I of course acknowledge that you specialise and are very successful at this by securing extra places with various bookmakers offers.  Indeed, I remember working out that it is possible to make money in this way.  However, I am talking about exposing the myth of each way betting for punters who do not have the ability or time to shop around for such bargains.

    Good to hear from you M; I hope that you are keeping well?

  7. One Trixie today for £1 = £4 poss return £84.25

    2.25 Gd Chairman Of The Board 7/2 £2 win
    2.40 Perth Imperial Eleysian £1.50 win at 6/4
    3.35 Gd Happy Power £2 win at 3/1

    Other Bets

    1.15 Gd Salamanca School £2 win at 5/2

    3.00 Gd Native Tribe £1.50 win at 9/4
    3.00 Gd Its Good To Laugh 50p win at 4/1

    2.40 Perth Native Fighter 50p win at 6/1

    Multiples = £4

    Singles = £10

    I've abandoned ew betting once more and will run win bets alongside theoretical ew bets from next month to prove that ew betting is a turkey shoot

    Poss back later as I haven't really looked at Perth or the short priced favourite in the 4.35 at Yarmouth

    I'm fed up with great expectations of ANY horse winning a race so I will just focus on what I feel is a horse that is assumed to be giving its best shot

    ===================================================================================================

    It's a pity that Chairman Of The Board reared up in the stalls and it cost him the race.  Also Native fighter won Imperial Eleysian's race for which I had a small saver bet.  Anyway, another £4 down the swannee.  The balance c/fwd is now £708.56 (£800 Bank)

    My singles faired better with three winners.  A return of £17.38 v a £10 outlay showed a profit of £7.38.  The balance c/fwd is now £311.58 (£400 Bank)

    Only three meetings tomorrow with about eight race qualifiers for me to look at.  Gosh, I can remember the days when there were loads of meetings on a bank holiday Monday.  Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

  8. One Trixie today for £1 = £4 v poss return of £76.04

    12.20 Nm Commonsensical 11/4
    2.05 Nm Summerghand 15/8 (looks to good to be true, so it will probably get stuffed)
    2.40 Win Desert Encounter 11/4 (loves it at Windsor, should beat Le Don De Vie at this track)

    Other bets:

    4.30 Nm Clem A 50p win at 14/1
    4.30 Nm Lunar Jet 50p win at 14/1

    My Kevin Stott fix

    3.30 Red Exalted Leader £1 ew at 9/2
    4.05 Red Strat Time 50p ew at 12s
    4.40 Red Sambucca Spirit £1 win at 3/1
    6.45 Red Quiteacatch 50p ew at 25/1

    £4 multiples

    £6 Singles

    = £10 staked

    I haven't really worked through the Goodwood card yet but the favourite Subjectivist looks vulnerable in the 3.00

    Maybe back later but all looks like heavy going for us punters today

    Well, first two blew out of my Trixie.  Stupid late run on Summerghand

    2.40 Win Desert Encounter £2 win at 16/5 ( I hate all this interference with traditional odds fractions)

    I made a mistake and laid Pomelo in the 1.50 at Goodwood and made £14.25 (lunch time alcohlic beverage to blame but I'm not complaining)

    =================================================================================================

    Well the day didn't improve for me.  The final insult was Desert Encounter almost stumbling after clipping its heels.  No worries, I have decided to utilise my desired "lay" bets in a relatively small way from September 1st so as to improve profit and to further protect my bank.  All will be revealed soon.

    The multiples lost £4 so the balance c/fwd is now £712.56 (Bank £800)

    All my singles bets flopped so a £6 loss.  The balance now C/Fwd is £304.20 (Bank £400)

    Goodwood and Perth have some good quality races on tomorrow, though we all still have to contend with the vagaries of soft to heavy going.
