That easier passage means probably France in the quarters and Belgium in the Semi. I think I’d sooner win the group and get put out of the pain by Portugal or Germany again.
Why did we only make 2 Subs all night. Starting to think we have players that look very good players playing for Club sides with excellent foreign players but are really average. Not sure why they can’t run though. Sterling lasted 90 minutes, how? Apart from receiving 1 brilliant pass from a novice in the team who stupidly committed to beat a couple of players and pass the ball forward, Sterling has done little to suggest he is a world beater.
Still we could still finish 3rd in the group and enter the lottery to play someone.

Just seen the team, well no specialist Left Back, Tripper in team to take corners and set pieces then, Sterling and Foden both from the left and no Grealish. Croatia at 6/1 suddenly looks appealing with Mings also in the team. Think we may have fallen in to the old trap of square pegs in round holes!

Well Derby Day is here, not taken with any particular selection, only one Aiden O'Brien runner and not at that price for me, having watched Bolshoi’s last race (no pacemaker this time)  I’ve gone for Joseph's Southern Lights (made no inroads on Bolshoi according to someone who writes these comments against horse form). For me watching the replay had no run and may have finished a closing 2nd if not met by 2 horses going backwards and was unable to finish his run, with an extra 2f who knows, downside not sure about low draw, seem to remember you don’t want to be in stalls 1-4 but who knows.
Anyway Sky 5 places or Paddy 4 places (with best odds) 33/1 that will do for me

Kilmarnock v Dundee: Buy Lee Ashcroft's Goal Rush Plus for 4 points at 1 and his goal minutes for 2 points at 2, both with SPIN
Goal Rush Plus awards 25 points for 1 goal, 50 for 2 and 100 for 3 or more so you're getting 24/1 that he scores with a free "topping" of extra points if he gets more than one. Goal minutes is the total time of any goals he scores and (given the average time of a goal is 50 minutes) also equates to around 24/1 although any goal he scores could obviously come in the 1st or 90th minute or anywhere in between. Best anytime price I've seen is 16/1 with 365 and he's 7s or less elsewhere, so I'm certainly backing him on the best available terms.
He's scored 5 times in 25 league games this season, 6 in 32 overall. All 5 League goals have come in his last 12 appearances (including a brace against Alloa). The average time of his league goals has been 65.8 which could be random or could suggest he goes forward more later on in games. I watched a few of the goals on YouTube and they were impressive headers from set pieces, with the commentary snippets suggesting he'd already been a threat from similar situations.
If we assume any significance in this season's stats (his first with Dundee) then even 16/1 would be a massive price. It's quite possible that they've worked on this aspect of his game and are consciously targeting him from set pieces, more than was the case at his previous clubs. If we dismiss it as a one-off blip we're looking at a player who had previously scored 14 times in 228 games which still equates to roughly 16/1 on average.
All in all this is a low risk bet that I believe offers exceptional value.

Halfway through a quick trawl of the line ups to see if anything catches the eye. Two so far.
A Villa v Chelsea: 16 points on Watkins to score at 4.8 on BF
Fulham v Newcastle: 12.5 points on Willock to score at 6/1 with PP (Under "Power Prices"; they had me at the 9/2 shown on Odds Checker so 6/1 feels huge, whether his freak scoring run continues today or not.)
  9. Thanks

Another cracking day on bank holiday Monday with 4 winning bets out of 5. I have two bets for Saturday and they pretty much write themselves.
    Wealdstone v Dagenham & Redbridge
I watched Dagenham's match against Woking and I did get a bit worried in the 2nd half that they might blow it when Woking pulled a goal back, but in the end they added a 3rd and it was a comfortable success. Opposing Wealdstone also paid off on Monday as they lost 4-0 to Stockport. I struggle to see how Dagenham don't cover the -1 handicap yet again here given how many goals they are scoring and how many Wealdstone are conceding. In my view it should be odds on so odds against looks very good.
    Woking v Chesterfield
Not surprisingly I am taking great pleasure in Chesterfield's drop in form and performances. They looked pretty hopeless last Saturday against Hartlepool especially in the first half where they conceded 3 goals. They followed that up with losing 2-0 to Torquay, but those two games are a world away from facing a Woking side who could hardly be further away from two teams fighting it out for the title. Chesterfield are desperate for the 3 points and they really ought to get them. They should be looking to boost their goal difference as well given how tight it is for the final 3 play-off spots so the -1 handicap makes plenty of appeal here as well.
    Dagenham & Redbridge -1 4pts @ 5/4 with Betfair
    Chesterfield -1 2pts @ 15/8 with Bet365, Betfair and Betfred
  11. Thanks

One bet and one winner again on Saturday to continue the good run of form. Usually the season has finished by now, but we still have another month to go with the season having started late. We have a full fixture list on Bank Holiday Monday to look forward to in the National League with Sutton v Notts County live on BT on Tuesday tea time. I have 4 bets for Monday.
    Boreham Wood v Kings Lynn
I know Boreham Wood love to draw, but the fact they haven't had to play since last Saturday is key for me because Kings Lynn have played two games since then. They only have a small squad and they are feeling the effects of such a busy period. They did draw 0-0 on Saturday, Maidenhead have been leggy in games as well so it is no surprise that was more of a balanced affair. They have been conceding plenty of goals and although Wood haven't scored in 4 games now they do have goals in them and I suspect they will get a few chances to score here. I am going to take them on the -1 at 6/4.
    Dagenham & Redbridge v Woking
Dagenham have really found their form of late and they are playing really well. They have won their last 4 on the bounce now and compared to earlier in the season they are now scoring goals. They have netted 10 in that run and they will surely fancy their chances of adding a few against a Woking side who are desperate for the season to finish. They have picked up just 1 point in their last 9 games and in their 8 losses they have conceded at least twice in 6 of them. I would make them 1/2 chances so even at a shade of odds on I am happy to play. I am also going to cover the -1 handicap.
    Maidenhead v Wrexham
As I mentioned earlier Maidenhead continuing to look very tired in games and they could struggle to hold of a Wrexham side who need the points to stay in the play-offs. I think the Welsh side will have too much for their hosts here and I am happy to play at 6/4
    Stockport v Wealdstone
I don't really need to write too much here as Stockport really should be putting at least 3 or 4 past Wealdstone here. They have been conceding goals for fun and Stockport have been scoring them for fun. Granted they only got 1 on Saturday, but going to Halifax is a very different story from hosting Wealdstone. The -2 handicap looks worthy of a play.
    Boreham Wood -1 2pts @ 6/4 with Betfred
    Dagenham & Redbridge 4pts @ 10//11 with William Hill
    Dagenham & Redbridge -1 1pt @ 13/5 with Betfred
    Wrexham 1pt @ 6/4 with William Hill
    Stockport -2 2pts @ 7/5 with Betfair

Well after last nights result, depending on what Cambridge do away at Newport, Bolton have the chance to be top of the league tonight. Can they beat bottom of the table Grimsby after their sterling performance on Tuesday becoming the first team to win away at Salford this season. After their blip over Easter where they failed to beat Colchester and lost themselves away at Newport, they are in control of their own destiny in regards to promotion. Who would have though that 2 months ago.
Bolton away at Grimsby should win I think, but not sure at the prices and the fact they only seem to score once a game that it’s a bet for me.
In regards with today’s other fixtures after the last attempt with Tranmere, not sure I would like to predict anything, it’s that time of year when players are fighting for their careers. Will try Stevenage at home to Mansfield although they are the draw specialists. May also try Walsall away at Colchester at 5.30, with a new manager and only been beaten 4 times away from home (drawn 13) Colchester are fighting hard at the bottom and are better at home, so no great confidence in either result and may only play the 2nd if the first works out.

Not sure I totally agree, yes it was a better ride, (could hardly have been worse) but still think the jockey got him trapped up the inside rail and did not show him any daylight to get any sort of a run, not sure seemed to get a gap run and stopped because gap had gone again. Seems a tight track with not a lot of space.

No money yet, drifted to 12-1 on bet365. I would have been more confident if a different jockey. What’s the system in France is it 3 runs for a handicap mark as over here, if so with another bad run could be interesting on the 4th run? Looked the possible winner in last race and finished 9th. I’ ve had a couple of quid E/W at 12’s let’s hope the jockey has had some advice!

Hopefully as I have 1/3000th of her. Difficult race to predict. Miranda has run once previously at Sandown finishing 8/8 put was her seasonal reappearance and a race that was a bit one sided. Angus takes off a valuable 7lb and has ridden her twice, a win at Ludlow and 4th at Mussleborough, although another 100yds she probably would have won. Great race last out at Doncaster and been well rested since. So can she compete in this giving weight to several possible ‘handicap blots’. I guess it depends if she can still be close enough coming up the hill, there are several front runners and the money is down for @richard-Westwood selections

    Natural history 9.5  9/2 7/2 no value
One true king  8.4 8/1 16/1 good value
    Rockadenn  8.2 9/1 8/1 no value
So ground has gone a bit softer which might go against Natural History with the flat speed, hopefully a strong pace and Miranda comes up the outside to win by a neck!

PS don’t follow if you don’t want to lose your money, been trying to make a case for her but will be a big ask, anyway Paddy power are 14/1 5 places and I believe still best odds guaranteed, Hills are paying 6 places. So E/W money down and hope Richard is wrong! ?
