Kuala Lumpur tomorrow: Bhambri - Ferrer line 18.5 games looks like a real gift. Anyone knows anything about this Indian guy Bhambnri?
He's a graduate of the Nick Bollettieri academy and won the Junior Australian Open last year. Since then, however, he's done very little of note. I've never seen him play so couldn't judge his strengths and weaknesses but I do know he's regarded highly in Bradenton and is expected to go on to good things. Only 18-years-old. Ferrer was average against Tomic today but will probably improve for the match now that he's got a grip with conditions. He was serving poorly, however. Worth factoring in.

Re: Tennis - 27 September - 3 October Well the key factor here might be motivation. I seriously think that Ferrer does not care whether he wins 6-4 6-4 or 6-1 6-1. Bhambri, on the other hand, will find for every single point, because it is one of the highs of his career so far. And the courts here seem quick enough.

Hm...Gulbis was -4 today' date=' showed nothing...and is -4.5 against GGL? Am I missing something here or do you all believe that he will step up the next match? If he plays like he played today, GGL can even win I think.[/quote'] Gulbis tonked him 6-0 6-2 on indoor hard two years ago in their only previous meeting. I'd hope Gulbis would improve after today's match. Garcia-Lopez has talent but is very inconsistent on serve - a better player than Serra would've eaten him up today. -4.5 games does seem a bit high, but at the same time I wouldn't rush to back Garcia-Lopez on the plus either.

I would'nt be surprised if Gulbis brings his A game and demolish GGL.

Obviously I understand that, but he is that kind of player that can play either very well or prety poorly, like today. He played so many easy shots so badly. Certainly, he may win this 6-2 6-2, but I can see this getting tight about as many times.

Re: Tennis - 27 September - 3 October Thursday's selections. No WTA this time :D 1) Tomas Berdych vs Denis Istomin. Over 22 games. 1.97 @ Pinnacle (7/10) Remember these two playing in Wimbledon few months ago. There were very few breaks and first 3 sets were decided in tie-breaks. Berdych despite having tons of opportunities could do very little against Istomin in the first par of the match. Berdych won the match in 5 sets and I certainly can't imagine any other result than overs here. 22 games is just a little bit short. 2) Robin Soderling -5.5 AH vs Edouard Roger-Vasselin. 1.84 @ Pinnacle (8/10) I think Vasselin will be humiliated today. Big time. Soderling made 1/2 finals here last year losing to the eventual champ Davydenko. The Swede should do better this time around. Indoors is his favorite surface even now after he has learnt to play on clay, too. Upon last year in Bastad he had won titles only in indoors. Vasselin lucky with the 1st round draw playing Cermak who never plays singles as he's doubles specialist. I think Soda will have this one pretty comfortably. 3) Rafael Nadal -6 AH vs Ruben Bemelmans. 2.01 @ Pinnacle (7/10) This is a joke! I mean how on earth Bemelmans can be rated @ 6 games against world number one? The Belgian will wet his pants before the match and will be crushed for sure. It doesn't really matter that Rafa has not played in awhile. Bemelmans should not have been in the 2nd round of ATP 250 tournament. He got a lucky draw and still was poor in the first round against another crap player Nielsen. The Dane had 8 break points. He converted just one. I mean, that's not good enough for Bemelmans. Rafa will be all over him not only mentally but physically as well. Unders for consideration, too. However I most of the time prefer handicaps, which I'm taking today. Really can't imagine Bemelmans winning more than 5 games against Rafa. 4) Viktor Troicki -3.5 AH vs Jarkko Nieminen. 1.87 @ 188bet (5/10) Nieminen won his opening round match against part-timer Udomchoke 6-3, 6-2, but was far from impressive. He didn't need to be, but will have to be against Troicki, who crushed Chiudinelli. The Serbian player was very impressive on his first serve and I reckon he will be just too strong for Nieminen today. They have played once before with Troicki winning 7-5, 6-3 in New Haven.

Re: Tennis - 27 September - 3 October Nadal Vs Bemelmans U19 games 1.775 at Pinnacle (9/10) Here is an easy reasoning: the world number one player is known for fighting for every single point of every single game in every match. He is mentally one of the best (if not the best) players and won´t give any free points against a player that shouldn´t be allowed to play in the same court than Rafa... I can see something like 6/2 6/2 or similar so taking unders is very safe IMO Going for the under and not the handicap cause if Rafa is in a very bad day, something like 6/3 6/3 wolud still make it :hope

Re: Tennis - 27 September - 3 October

anyone having a small punt on Vandeweghe Coco against azarenka? coco's last 4 matchs her odds were : 2,80 - 2,50 - 2,10 - 2,90 , and she won all of them 2-0 !!!! so i am thinking to take her to win a set @3 opinions?
Azarenka is the highest ranked player of Cocos opponents. Ranked top 10 and Azarenka plays for a spot in Doha where the WTA tour finish every year. I think it could happen but at same time Azarenka is back from injury and she's been playing great.

Re: Tennis - 27 September - 3 October

damn kanepi in her 3rd and 4th serving game she had a total of 7 points on her serve to win the game' date=' she wasted the 7 of them before getting broken in both games... oh my god :puke[/quote'] after that the ***** thought it would be funny to waste 2 set points for the 1st set and to then actually lose the set, congrats :cow:clap:clap

Re: Tennis - 27 September - 3 October These are days that remind you that gambling sometimes doesnt pay, NIEMINEN just beat Troicki and Becker leads Vedasco:loon Anderson was always a gamble against golubev, but for once Im glad the tournament is in asia because I woke up late after the games had already started.Must be a good sign!!!;)

any opinion on the dementieva - zvonareva game ? personally like vera' date=' on form purely, but havent seen dementieva in a while ? is she ageing ? or playing as solid from baseline ?[/quote'] she is winning:loon convincingly.Thought about Vera, better player, in decent form but the way Dementieva dispatched her last opponent made me stay away and after losing the first set looks like Vera is having her usual blow outs. bad day all round, makes you want to think hard for the remaining matches

Handicap on Soderling and Nadal really was a gift from the bookies.
