Re: Bowles' "live" Monthly betting book

ok, 3 bets for me today BET 84 - EPSOM 4.05 SARISKA 10PTS WIN @ 3/1 PADDY POWER (GP) 1ST 9/4 :nana BET 85 EPSOM 2.45 DUNCAN 5PTS WIN @ 11/2 BET365 (BOG) 4TH BET 86 - 3.25 EPSOM LAKE POET 3PTS WIN @ 10/3 BET365 (BOG) 2ND 11/4
Sariska won the Oaks under a reasonable ride from Spencer, maybe he went too soon but Midday came back for more & it was only a shd at the line. Duncan ran well in 4th only beaten nse, nse 0.5L in a thrilling Coronation cup. Lake Poet didnt get the ride down the outside it expected & was carried out wider than i would have liked by the others before snatching 2nd near the line. Of the races i saw, apart from Midday & Sariska who must be followed again, Look Here ran an excellent race in defeat in the Coronation. Re: Bowles' "live" Monthly betting book 1.25 EPSOM - MARCHING TIME (1m2f, Cl2, Gd) Went into my notebook following its 1st time up this season running off 83. It ran well but didnt benefit from a clear run in a muddling race. It also got struck by an oppnents whip which didnt help. Could run up a sequence this horse under this sort of rating. BET 87 - 1.25 EPSOM - MARCHING TIME 4PTS WIN @ 5/2 PP 3.00 EPSOM - CAPTAIN DUNNE (5F, CL2, Gd) Probably mad even having a bet in this race however 2 Middleham horses are running & Captain Dunne for me looks the better of the 2. Perhaps should have won last time out when beaten on the line at Thirsk by Biniou, its now been raised 2lb for that effort but still 4lb lower than its AW rating gained at Southwell. Has won on any ground & is ok if the rain gets in. Draw sometimes plays a paryt here but with a middle to high draw (12 of 20), should be fine. BET 88 - 3.00 EPSOM CAPTAIN DUNNE 4PTS WIN @ 9/1 PP (GP) 3.45 EPSOM - BLACK BEAR ISLAND (1M4F, GRP1, GD) I have previewed the race in full on the Epsom Derby thread & its win in the Dante is the key trial for me coupled with his stats meeting all the trends. the price is ok for EW so will ocver the bet. BET 89 - 3.45 EPSOM - BLACK BEAR ISLAND 5pts EW @ 9/1 Hills may be back for some more once i have reviewed the cards.

Re: Bowles' "live" Monthly betting book My conscience has got the better of me & i must include SIRENS GIFT in the 3.00 race drawn 14, disappointed when well backed last week, has the services of Epsom specialist Frankie Dettori today ! BET 90 - 3.00 EPSOM - SIRENS GIFT 1PT EW @ 11/1 LADBROKES ANOTHER ONE... 2.35 DONCASTER - EMIRATES ROADSHOW (1M, CL2, G/S) Noted when 2nd to Destert Creek at Windsor who has since won a nice race up in class. Gone up 4lb after that effort however ER looked a winner in the making when chasing home the winner. Won a newmarket maiden back end of last season which is always worth considering as these horses embark on a 3yo campaign. BET 91 - 2.35 DONC - EMIRATES ROADSHOW 3PTS WIN @ 5/1 PP

Re: Bowles' "live" Monthly betting book struggling today after Captain Dune was beat on the line & the poor performance of Black bear island in the Derby. Found a couple more today 4.30 PRESS THE BUTTON (1m4f, Cl2, Gd) 1lb less than higher win on turf & it could be nothing but this horse was the subject of a trial run over the Derby course for bbc1 & shown earlier on TV. Not a bad prep if you ask me! Bureaucrat bids for a repeat win 1st time up just like last year. BET 92 - 4.30 Epsom Press the Button 1pt ew 25/1 Bet365 Looking at Sunrise Safari in the last still.....

Re: Bowles' "live" Monthly betting book well that was no good, Press the button didnt run well at all Been looking at the 5.05 again at Epsom Dandy has 5 runners in the field & has to be respected, Something was the one i felt could be worth following. I met the owner when Dhaular Dhar ran at Ascot & they hoped to run it in the same race but Something didnt make it after a small injury, so not sure if i want it over 6f on a fast track? Mac Gille Eion won this last year & is now 3lb lower after not posting a winning effort since. Has won at Bath & Goodwood so likes these types of tracks but does need very fast ground. I will stick with Sunrise Safari whom i am sure will improve after latest run 6th behind Celtic Sultan over 7f, 1st time up it finished 2nd to Tamagin at Newcastle over 6f & that form would out it in with a chance today. Drawn 12 which isnt ideal however chance taken. BET 93 5.05 EPSOM SUNRISE SAFARI (6f, Cl2, Gd) 2pts win @ 12/1 Bet365

Re: Bowles' "live" Monthly betting book with 2 evening cards, feel the need to get involved. Had good news from Paddy power today who refunded my stake on Captain Dunne as it was part of a money back special, so thats another 4pts back in the kitty:clap Dear ROBIN, Congratulations. Our 2nd Chance Saturday 3.00 Epsom has clicked which means we're giving you your money back. That's right, your bet lost but you're not losing out. We just want to be loved and since we can't turn up on your doorstep with a guitar, a badly written love song and a cheap bottle of sparkling wine we're refunding your losing stake instead. Windsor has been good to me this season & :hope it continues! 7.30 WINDSOR - BY COMMAND (1m2f, cl4, G/soft) Good to see 2 course & distance winners in the field By Command & Folio. Folio seems to have slipped down the weights a fair bit now & off 67 must be feared alhtough age not on its side now at 9. Did run up a sequence earlier in the year on the AW, but turf peformances havent been great. By command ran at Sandown 2 weeks ago where i saw it finsh 5th to Mountain pride. The horse set the pace that day & then faded into 5th inside the final furlong which is expected at Sandown. That isnt bad form & he could get a run on the others here if trying same tactics. BET 94 - BY COMMAND 3pts win @ 7/1 Bet365 (BOG) 8.00 WINDSOR - TOP TOWN GIRL (5F, CL4, G/S) Interesting one this horse trained by Ralph Beckett who has hit form in the last few days with 2 winners over the weekend & also the excellent performance iof Look here in the Coronation cup. Notably the horse has only raced over 5f once & it won at Sandown on soft ground. Dropped 3lbs now for recent efforts where not troubling the judge at all however in this small field, may be able to come back to form especially dropping back to 5f & on favoured ground. Big price. BET 95 - TOP TOWN GIRL 1pt ew @ 18/1 Corals 8.30 WINDSOR - STRAVELLA (1m, Cl5, G/s) Won its maiden in reasonable style making all to hold off a field of 13 at Chepstow. heads the weights today off 75 & there may be more to come. Trainer Beckett has hit form & this could be another for seb sanders who is riding really well again. Looks a very competitive handicap however i know Stravella will up there at the head of the field & will hopefully have enough in the tank to hold on. BET 96 - STRAVELLA - 2pts win @ 13/2 Sporting bet

Medici Pearl - Ran Sat 18/4 (1m, Cl2, S) back on soft ground over 7f. Ran Sat 1/5 (1m, Cl2, G/f) & at York (1m) last week - wait for soft & 7f!! Ran 14/5 (1m, Cl1, Gd) 7th btn 6L at York. Still waiting for drop to 7f on easier ground. Fanjura - Ran Sat 18/4 (1m, Cl2, S) back on good ground over 7f. Ran 7/5 (1m2f, Cl2, G/f) btn 4.5L at Chester Sariska - Ran Sat 18/4 (7f, Cl1, S) slowly away, capable of much better. Thurs 13/5 Won at York winning Oaks trial. Will go to the Oaks now. Ran 5/6 - won the Oaks at Epsom Grp 1 (1m4f, Grp 1, Gd). Star Ruby - Ran Fri 24/4 (1m 2f, Cl4, G) won well, front 2 pulled 8L clear Thurs 13/5 2nd to Sariska at York & worth following this season. Hidden Brief - Ran Fri 24/4 (1m 2f, Cl4, G) 2nd to Star ruby. Disappointed at Chester meeting. REMOVED Rackiteer - Ran Fri 24/4 (1m, Cl2, G) won by 6L pulling away. REMOVED Sirens Gift - Ran Tues 28/4 (5f, Cl1, G/F) follow in sprints 5 or 6f. Ran 30/5 & 6/6, needs a drop in class, is on a winning mark but doesnt seem to be able to win. Strike the deal (5f, Cl1, g/f) - looks a 6f horse, ran well latest run over 6f at York on 13/5, could be an interest at Royal Ascot on fast ground over 6f. Won at Lingfield Class 3 conditions contest. Was hoping this would develop into a group peformer this season. Entered in the 2 maor sprints at Ascot. Desert Creek - Ran Mon 4/5 (1m, Cl3, G/f). Can improve again. Won at Haydock (1m, Cl2, Hvy) Worth following again. Emirates Roadshow - Ran Mon 4/5 (1m, Cl3, G/f). chased home Desert Creek, back on good or some cut. RAn 6/6 at Doncaster 3rd btn 3.5L (8f, Cl2, G/s). Wil win back in Class 3. Tawaabb Ran Mon 4/5 (5f, Cl5, g/f) would have won but for greeness.Won at Leicester (cl4, 5f, Gd) won by 3.5l & worth watachig again this season AlanBrooke Ran Fri 15/5 (1m3f, cl4, G/Soft) should have won, btn shd, follow as ground may have been a bit too soft. Ran 6/6 Musselburgh flopped - REMOVED Duncan Ran 10/5 - very impressive, Royal Ascot next. 4th in the Coronation cup at Epsom (1m4f, Grp1, Gd). Ran well only btn 0.5L, can win again this season in group class. Latest noted horses Main Aim - I think the Golden Jubilee may be the target but a G1 may be too tough at this stage Bushman - It led until 2f out & then kept battling away & should win a race at some point this season. Peter Island - Not sure if anyone saw Peter Island streak to the front at Goodwood only to be caught at the 1f pole by the other runners. This was a jump in class from its usual class 4 runs but when back in that company should be kept an eye on IMO, will need to drop a few pounds as highest win rating was 79. Ran off 86 latest. Acquisition - Beaten approx a length into 4th, but was the one making eye catching progress after eventual winner Pictorial under a typical Ryan Moore ride had taken the race up 3f out. Ridden hands & heels this horse would have won with another 50 yards & for its first run on a racecourse over 1m2f, the horse looks to have a good future. It has very decent breeding & will get a mile and a half. Shakalaka - The 2nd to Pictorial should also be good enough to pick up a race. Not sure how many of the above will run at Ascot but i should get some nice prices amongst them

Re: Bowles' "live" Monthly betting book 3.40 HAYDOCK - GLOBAL CITY (6F, cL3, g/f) At Haydock tomorrow in the 3.40 race, godolphin have Global City whose form reads 2 wins & 1 place in 7 races. The 2 wins were both as a 2yo at Yarmouth & Lingfield (AW). The 1st at Yarmouth was only a class 5 maiden after which they did thier usual probably expecting they had a decent one, & ran it in the Molecomb stakes (group 3) at Goodwood, beaten 8.5L into 9th place & outclassed. It then finished 6th in a Nursery at Chester over 5f from a bad draw, & was highest placed of the high drawn horses that day beaten nearly 6L. On its final start as a 2yo won at Lingfiled in a class 4 conditions stakes easily winning by 3.5l. Campaigned this season to date in Class 2 handicaps & put in a good performance 1st time up at Salisbury only beaten 1.5l behind instalment. Its latest race was a 5th place behind impressive winner Bouvardia at Newmarket off 96. Was beaten 2.5L that day & 4th place Proclaim has won since, plenty of winners will come from that race. Ground & trip will be fine & for me this represents an ideal placing for a Godolphin horse with the drop to class 3 company. BET 97 - 3.40 HAYDOCK - GLOBAL CITY 4PTS WIN @ 3/1 Ladbrokes

Re: Bowles' "live" Monthly betting book 1 bet again on Thursday 2.40 APPLE CHARLOTTE (1m 2f, Class 1, G/F) Henry Cecil is simply having a great season to date & will look forward to a number of decent horses winning some nice prizes this year especially horses like Midday who came so close to winning the Oaks. At Newbury, in the days big race, he saddles Apple Charlotte unbeaten in 3 races so far. Won a maiden with 17 runners on debut at Newmarket on only 2yo start. Then came out in April to win 1st time up winning easily off a mark of 78 in a conditions race. Stepped up last time out to win here at Newbury over this trip in listed company again winning fairly comfortably. Goup class horse in a listed race should go very close. Could have ran in the Oaks but sidestepped for this race. BET 98 - 2.40 NEWBURY - APPLE CHARLOTTE 6PTS WIN @ 13/8 Paddy Power (GP)

Beaten short head by Splashdown, i personally felt it maybe should have won & nearly got up on the line. Started SP 5/4 Friday at Sandown 4.25 Sandown - SHAMALI (1m, Cl3, Gd) Watched this horse run here the other week, it drifted in the ring from 5's to 8's & ran well for a long time before fading into 8th inside the final furlong only beaten 3.5L behind the leader Dunno. Stepped up in trip by another 2f & well worth considering back on this track & ground. BET 99 - 4.25 SANDOWN - SHAMALI - 3PTS WIN

Triple aspect looks a very decent horse & won here on debut over 5f. Unbeaten last season & a good effort 1st time up at Newbury could be enough to win this. I would still prefer some juice in the ground for Medici Pearl & the drying out to officially good ground may prove its undoing again. Still looks a bit high in the weights as well but there is a race in this horse at some point this season. Fanjura impressed me when 5th to Extraterrestial in the Newbury Spring cup beaten 2L off todays ratng. Todays race is very similar & should give a good account on ground & trip today. The form of the stable is a worry & is a stake reduction factor for me today. Arostic for in form Cumani deserves to be favourite & could be worth following based on its previous performances. Re: Bowles' "live" Monthly betting book decided not to play in Mastercraftsman race although i think it will win, odds on is too short for me, so i have 3 other bets in 2 races. 2.30 Main Aim/Alexandros (1m, Grp1, G/F) I am going to swerve the Godolphin favourite for this race. I am mulling over the recent form of Main Aim who steps up yet again & also in trip this time. Stoute & Godolphin seem to have this race between them over the years sharing 7 of the last 10 winners of the race. Alexandros was unlucky last time in the Lockinge & perhaps would have won but for frankie losing the whip. Bth are backable at reasonable prices. Re: Bowles' "live" Monthly betting book Day 2 Ascot 2.30 ASHRAM (7f, Grp3, G/F) plenty of contenders here & i really liked Ashram at Sandown last time out when 2nd to Border Patrol in a listed race over a mile. Came with every chance to win that day & when it hit the front, was passed by the fast finishing winner. With Godolphn suffering today is it worth a chance they can win this? The horse was beaten a long way in the 2000 Guineas but does have the potential. Gosden's, Meehans, Tate's & Hills' horses all have a chnace as well making this race a difficult one to stake too much. Bet 108 - Ashram 10/1 >Bet365 1pt ew 4.20 ELLEMUJIE/DUNN'O (1m, Cl2, G/F) The hunt cup, for me revolves round 2 trend selections for me, Ellemujie & Dunn'o, i dont understand why Ellemujie is available at 50's. It was beaten 4.5L by Dunn'o at Sandown & is 9lb better off for that defeat, so i have them much closer together for this race. Dunn'o won again at Sandown beating weekend winner Kavachi 1.5L & race off same terms again. Kavachi did well at the weekend but this race may come too soon for the 4th placed horse last year. Axiom is better off at the weights with both but has a middle draw of 18/33 which may not be ideal. Bet 109 - Ellemujie 50/1 >Bet365 2pts ew 1st 5 paid Bet 110 - Dunn'o 16/1 Bet365 3pts ew 1st 5 paid

Re: Bowles' "live" Monthly betting book

Hoping Royal Ascot will trun this thread on its head as now showing a minus which is disappointing, a run of 10 losers on the bounce didnt help. So far my team for the week is: Enroller (if soft) Mastercraftsman Star Ruby Strike the deal Desert Creek Duncan Tawaabb Espiritu also got Hunt cup & Wokingham to sort out
Day 2 Ascot Bet 108 - Ashram 10/1 >Bet365 1pt ew 3rd 8/1:ok Bet 109 - Ellemujie 50/1 >Bet365 2pts ew 1st 5 paid unpl Bet 110 - Dunn'o 16/1 Bet365 3pts ew 1st 5 paid unpl

Re: Bowles' "live" Monthly betting book 2.30 TAWAABB (5f, Cl1, G/F) Ok, this horse hasnt done what Monsieur Chevalier has done however it is lightly raced & the night i saw it run at Windsor, it ran so green, it nearly ended in the river! It came out & duly won once shaken up at Yarmouth in an easy race. Its a massive step up in class tomorrow but Channon has won these 2yo events before & I expect a big run. At 14/1 its more value i feel than taking 6/4 on the jolly which won well at Sandown last time out but may find this 5f a bit too quick. BET 111 - TAWAABB 1.5PTS EW @ 14/1 vc BET 4.20 DESERT CREEK (1M, CL2, G/F) Stoute horse takes another step up to go for the hat trick of 1m wins this season. Was impressive at Windsor & then again at Haydock (hvy ground). Stays the trip well & will have to overcome a high draw to win. its a hot race & a difficult one to win. BET 112 - DESERT CREEK 10PTS WIN @ 6/1 PADDY POWER 4.20 ESPIRITU (1M. CL2, G/F) Finally lost its maiden tag on fast ground at Beverley last week & comes into the race with a 5lb penalty. Showed some promise as a juvenile in decent events (4th behind Kite Wood). Should have no problem with the trip & is a lively outsider for me BET 113 - ESPIRITU 1.5PTS EW @ 33/1 LADBROKES OF THE OTHER RACES, I THINK IT COULD BE A FAVOURITES DAY WITH FREEMNATLE, LEOCORNO BOTH WINNING

BET 111 - TAWAABB 1.5PTS EW @ 14/1 vc BET 3rd 7/1 :ok BET 112 - DESERT CREEK 10PTS WIN @ 6/1 PADDY POWER BET 113 - ESPIRITU 1.5PTS EW @ 33/1 LADBROKES 4TH 20/1 :ok
disappointed with Desert Creek as i made it one of my naps of the week, however the 2 ew's were both placed at much bigger odds so pleased with those. Espiritu was only caught near the line. 16pts staked 17.95pts returned slight profit on another difficult day :ok

Re: Bowles' "live" Monthly betting book no return from the 5.30 race today -10pts Just putting up a quick price for tomorrow which i think is too big to miss. Wokingham handicap 6f 4.25 Ascot (cl 2, G/F) ASSET trained by Saeed Suroor ridden by Frankie Dettori is drawn 27 so :hope for a change in fortune for the higher numbers, however most of the pace seems to be in the middle so depends on where they track across to, i would hope Frankie follows from his wide stall. This is a class 1 performer & its run behind Main Aim last time out (grp 3) was worth a second look, over 7f, held up & then made good progress late on the take 4th place 3.5L behind the impressive winner who stepped up to Group 1 class this week. Prior to that race, Asset won a listed race at Leicester over 7f on fast ground beating regal Parade 0.75L. The horse had 3 runs in Dubai all over 6f over the winter winning one of those (recent scorer Judd st in 3rd). Last seaosn the horse only ran twice in the uk coming 2nd at Great Leighs & also 2nd at Goodwodd behind Lessons in Humility who sidesteps this race for a crack at the Grp 1 sprint tomorrow. 2 seasons ago, Asset was only beaten 3.75L in the Betfred Sprint cup Group1 behind red clubs. That season the horse was 3rd in the Group 1 Golden Jubilee at R Ascot behind soldiers tale which must be its best performance only 1/2L behind Takeover Target in 2nd. That race is what i am basing this selection on as i feel the horse has all the capabilities still of winning a decent sprint race. In 2007, it also won the Abernant stakes in April. I just cant quite believe this is a 33/1 chance with bet365 BET 116 - ASSET 2pts EW @ 33/1 Bet365
