ubermonkey1 Posted December 31, 2008 Share Posted December 31, 2008 Re: 32Red $1k + $6k APT Philippines Freeroll - DODGER WINS PACKAGE yeah great win dodger missed this somehow:clap:clap:clap would definately agree about the live experiance if only to get rid of the first time in a live game nerves. heres a couple of tips. never lift your cards ,cup your hands over them and fold them back with your thumb:ok never look at your cards before it your turn to act.you should be watching while the other players check theirs and it will stop you playing out of turn because your focused on the play:ok always at least double the bet when raising(probably the biggest betting mistake live;)) never string bet ,ie say call then raise or put in the chips to call then say raise.best thing to do is say what your going to do then put in your chips:ok and most of all have some fun:nana:nana:nana your easily good enough to do well with some decent luck along the way ,as long as you have belief in what your doing.if not you'll have a lovely holiday and a great experiance as 32 red will no doubt look after you very well:ok Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Just waiting now for my passport...being the first time it takes a bit longer than usual, but all the time frames I have been told by the passport place should leave me with at least a week to spare...hopefully!:hope ...postman just been...passport interview arranged for tomorrow, so things are moving on great! But things have gone astonishingly smoothly. Apart from the initial panic when I couldn't find even my birth certificate, every stage has been passed with time to spare...my daughter provided the initial finances as I had to get new birth certificate, then passport, then book the flights...before expenses were released. Thanks largely to fantastic communications between Nick at 32 Red and myself everything is done and dusted and, short of breaking both legs and both arms and a 7ft snowstorm...I'm off to choose my new bride. :D oops...I mean I'm off to play poker...silly me! :eyes Travel to Manchester Sunday 25th, fly via Singapore 26th (13hr and 3 1/2 hr flights) to arrive in Manila on the 27th. Main event starts 29th...final table 1st Feb. fly back Feb 2nd to arrive home 3rd. {It's 14 1/2 hours back for the 13 hr flight going...do we get out and push half way?...no it's the wind apparently...bloody hell, big difference though!} It has been a hectic couple of weeks and I've been reading a hell of a lot of strategy articles from past magazines and online...spotted a couple of things I didn't realise, but I think I'll just be playing it as it comes. I'm not particularly worried about my apparent lack of live experience as the home / family games we play can get pretty damned competitive. Plans for a game at a casino later this week have fallen through so off to get pissed at Karaoke on Tuesday with my daughter just to try and wind down a bit....there should be time to get a game or two in before the main event anyway so it shouldn't be too big a shock to the system. Well that's about all ready now, just need to pick up currency and have a hair cut on Thursday and then I can start to panic when I finally realise this is actually happening. :loon Have checked the maps and there is the Mersey close to the airport and a massive river through Manila so, as long as we get the right pilot, everything should go just fine. The hotel has internet access in the rooms so should have no problem giving updates along the way...just try and stop me!
