Re: Spooner's Thread Folkestone 12:30 - Spiders Boy (Win) @ 10/3 SJ (bog) Going to take on the odds on jolly Karasakal with the old timer Spiders Boy, he'll give his all in these conditions and could possibly be more suited to the ground than main rival, only three wins for the horse in 62 runs which doesn't read great but has a live chance of picking up a win here in this small field.

Re: Spooner's Thread Well beaten. Southwell 12:50 - Mobaasher (win) @ 1.72 >Paddys (bog) Making chasing debut here and looks a good thing to get off the mark, some good runs behind the likes of Big Buck's and Punchestowns last year the latter getting off the mark at chasing with ultimate ease, assuming he takes the the jumps fine then no reason why Venita Williams' horse can't win here. Lingfield 12:30 - After The Show (Each-Way) @ 8/1 SJ (bog) Went close LTO finishing 4th in a similar race, was slowly into stride that day from stall 7 (same stall today), runs off the same terms here and should be there or thereabouts again. Lingfield 13:00 - Mr Willis (win) @ 2.38 SJ (bog) Been in great form at Lingfield winning his last four races, won again last week and just keeps improving with every run, hard to see the the 3yo being defeated and can rack up win number 5 at Lingfield. Lingfield 14:30 - Lord Deevert (Each-Way) @ 9.00 Ladbrokes This one just finished behind After The Show in a bunched finish LTO and maybe worth another chance here in similar company, has threatened to win a race a couple of times and should go in soon. Lingfield 15:00 - Suzi Spends (Each-Way) @ 10.00 365 (bog) Course and distance winner here, was well beaten LTO at Kempton but willing to forget that run as she was never really in the race, has been a decent handicapper in the last couple of years and can win a race off this mark.

Re: Spooner's Thread Hereford 14:10 - Songe (win) @ 3/1 SJ (bog) I'm sure this one has bundles more ability than he is actually showing, I was slightly disappointed with chasing debut as he has strong hurdling form, will stick with him again here but he'll have to show more.

Re: Spooner's Thread Kempton 19:50 - Blue Lyric (win) @ 1.72 Paddys (bog) Likely to be more improvement from Cumani's filly here after an easy win LTO albeit in a class 6 race. She races over the same 7f distance at Kempton tonight, with just five going to post this should be a quick double for Cumani/Fallon. Kempton 20:50 - Thunderous Mood (win) 15.00 Skybet - Beat The Bell (win) 17.00 Ladbrokes (5pts on each) Thunderous Mood has been well beat on starts in handicaps after winning running well in decent maidens, however he showed signs LTO of getting alot closer over C&D, looks to be in here on a decent mark and can go well. Beat The Bell is another who has not tasted much success lately but creeping down the handicap slowly, has previously gone well over C&D and the first-time cheekpieces may do the trick.

Re: Spooner's Thread Fairyhouse 13:50 - Catch Me @ 2.38 Hills Wondering whether to select this horse this morning after recent fall and also I don't seem to have alot of luck with favourites in Ireland, back over hurdles today which he has some serious form over, a winner of this race last year when seeing off Brave Inca. 5th at Aintree in a top class grade one was also a decent run, sure to be a major player here.

Re: Spooner's Thread Kempton 21:20 - Clerical (Each-Way) @ 8/1 Coral (bog) Run well here two runs ago when 2nd aginst similar opposition, disappointed when sent off a shorter price at Lingfield LTO but Jim Crowley back in the saddle here, also wears a first time visor which may help. 0 wins in 16 runs but this won't take much winning.

Re: Spooner's Thread Just one winner yesterday, Thunderous Mood ran well and my luck continues in Ireland, though can't have many excuses, came there strongly but found very little. Bets - 118 Total Staked - 1184pts Win - 38 Loss - 80 Strike Rate - 32.20% Yield - +22.17 Profit Loss - +262.58

Re: Spooner's Thread Naas 13:50 - Plaisir D'Estruval (Each-way) @ 8/1 365 (bog) This one should be really suited by conditions as Naas this afternoon, ran on heavy ground two runs ago at Listowel when 3rd which was a sound race, won over the 2m 4f at Downpatrick also on heavy, fav looks a short price to me and I like this one's each way chances, hopefully 8 line up.

Re: Spooner's Thread Lingfield 12:30 - Sir Edwin Landseer (win) @ 15/8 Sportingbet If reproducing anything like old form than he'll be hard to beat, much the best of this bunch, slight worry would be no win for nearly four years but then he has not contested in a race as weak as this...faired well in a handicap lto and looks a good price.

Re: Spooner's Thread Lost...runing on towards end if I remember correctly. Bets - 120 Total Staked - 1204pts Win - 39 Loss - 81 Strike Rate - 32.50% Yield - +24.50 Profit Loss - +295.08 No bets lately as I'm recovering from my casino habit and until that's sorted I won't be on here as I piss away the profits. When I do return, I shall be using this thread as I promised. :$ My last bet was overs two weeks ago now, miracle for me. :lol Just popped onto to say happy xmas everyone and well done to ATR for winning the best forum. :clap

Spooner's New Year's Resolution Thread This was pretty obvious but I hope no-one minds me starting another new thread, as most of you know ive had my troubles with gambling none more so than recently. After 3 weeks or so out and with it being the new year it seems a good time to re-enter. I won't go on about it and to be honest with you its not really racing that is the problem. Anyway ive been very impressed with Stevet's 'New Year's Resolution Thread ' so hopefully I can achieve what he has done and keep a level head for 2010 (two thousand and ten not twenty-ten!) This will be my last chance at keeping a level head, I intend to take more 'breaks' ie a couple of days here and there, I feel this is key to refresh your brain. I feel like ive let people down and myself down by starting threads and just letting them drop when they hit a bad spot. I realise I won MVP of the year at the oscars but on a personal level I am not happy. Anyway a new year, new start. The thread will feature all sorts of racing as usual. I also intend to post every bet @ www.sports-punter.com. Will try to win people over as year goes on, fingers crossed. :hope

Re: Spooner's New Year's Resolution Thread Good luck! I believe being on the forum and posting your bets is the best therapy, especially when things aren't going well. You can see what is going wrong, plus there are good people here who can offer support if it's needed. Twenty ten :-) should be a good year!

Re: Spooner's New Year's Resolution Thread Staking @ 10pts win or 5pts e/w. 13:40 - Punchestowns (win) @ 1.57 Paddy Power (bog) Short price to kick things off in the new year but he should do the business here, I followed this one closely over hurdles last season when beating by Big Buck's in the World Hurdle. Gone chasing this season and got off on the right foot when winning with easily enough on debut at Newbury, this is tougher but room for more improvement with Punchestowns and he should see off the other four runners. 14:10 - Chapoturgeon (Each-Way) @ 5.50 Ladbrokes (bog) Another horse who I have followed closely, fancied strongly for the Paddy Power Gold Cup in November when fell, bounced back well LTO before hitting the last fence and taking alot out the horse, wouldn't of got to the winner anyway. If he can sweep through the fences clean then he should take the beating, when jumping fluently the horse has bags of potential but tends to throw a bad jump here and there. Timmy Murphy back in the saddle this afternoon, Jacob done nothing wrong really LTO but Murphy has previous wins on the horse. Winning the Jewson over C&D. Each-way looks a solid punt.
