Same month I had 150pts for the DHRC as well . Good idea Alex, it takes a bit of staying power & the secret is to just copy & paste into PL threads just in case you win as they double up the prize. Billyhills mentioned that the winners normally pick lots of selections at odds on or evens. that makes Russ's finishing place even better as he had an average price of over 9/1. I see you are not allowed to have two selections in one match of say football but are in racing. Have I got that right? Also, do we have to post our tips in two different places? Just looking if I can fit the way I bet in to the competition. Don't know if I can sqeeze my staking plan in to the stakes either. Seems a bit biased towards short priced horses and almost forced in to each way betting at 5/1 or bigger. Potentially winning more over all for an each way bet than a win bet at the same price. That is not meant as a critercism, it is a great idea. I suppose the way I bet is a little different than the norm and no staking will appeal to everybody. They also wnat you to post in PL as well & will pay double the prize money if the selections are on both sites. You only need to keep posting in your thread & to make it easier you can post a link in Sports punter to your PL thread. The rules changed a few years back to stop people putting up 50/1 winners so the staking was chnaged to ensure that any high odds winner was only at a minimal stake. I thought that was to the detriment of anyone finding a 50/1 winner which a few of us have through hard work only to not get the reward it deserved but rules are rules i suppose. You can post up 2 selections in a horse race therefore i would imagine you need to select the best 2 of your final list to go in there? I won June's comp and was 2nd in July, after a cracking summer. Frisky setting the pace following his 33/1 place. PL Crewman already has 110 bets after just 9 days !! His yield is only -3% so hopefully will be in profit soon. I have made my usual terrible start laying a 2/1 winner which returned 5/4! I had a winner today to make up for it. RussP has yet to show his card for 2008. Thi smakes it difficult for me to get some posts on there as it depends on the racing & my work comitments. Oh well, i suppose i have to abide by the rules.
