When you mention following horses I like to follow specific horses but also follow certain horses at certain distances as you will know all about horses opposing each other and should be able to make an informed decision on which is the best horse to suit race conditions etc or what you feel has a chance and is overpriced by the bookies. BLACKBURN :lol Get yourself over to Blackburn, mate, and me & the missus will show you the sights:ok In terms of my handicap betting, I don't have a preference on distance. Basically, I consider all handicaps for all-ages (no interest in 3yo only races) that have 11+ runners. I never put horses 'into the notebook' as it is 'todays' race conditions that dictate whether to bet or not. If not actually written down then a mental note being made of it? You backed it over a certain distance before, in a certain class race with certain ground conditions. If those things are the same tomorrow as a few months back then I see why you'd fancy it and agree if there are different conditions it may be no bet. I'd agree fully about race class because they are handicappers that you're backing so a good class 5 handicapper is going to be a different proposition in a class 2 handicap and vice versa. :) I try pick horses to follow that are progressive and likely to move from maiden - handicap - listed - group class. Ground conditions are really important too so I won't blindly back a horse that needs good to firm and is running on heavy and clearly hates soft ground. I'm trying to keep an eye on your specialist thread and get on your selections as you have proved you can make money from bigger priced selections where most people would prefer to bang loads on short priced horses. :ok Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Bowles must be glad he transferred this horse in when he had the opportunity as it has been his highest scoring selection. :) RussP has the strongest team of horses, so strong they are propping up the rest of the table. :lol;) 5 punters have managed to break the 400pt mark and there are 3 in the 300's not too far behind. Congratulations to Woodie (Jon16) who wins the competition by 32 pts to yours truly. :clap Divot and WoodyTHFC both finished joint 3rd showing that not everything associated with Spurs are unsuccesful. ;) Pete10 takes the last position in the top 5. Not all players transferred in horses which could have cost them and as Bowles found out Dylan Thomas was the horse to have in your team and will probably get horse of the year.
