I thought that you needed 11/2 for it to count as a winner if it got placed.  Are you hoping for it to win and/or drift and win?  Good luck anyway

Ooh it’s like Schrödinger’s cat! Is a bet that breaks even a winner or a loser? I’d say that you’ve won your stake back. If you view it as binary then a bet that returns less than you put on is a loser and everything else is a winner.

Given that it finished 3rd and went off at 5/1 we get to sit back and await the Solomon like judgement of @MCLARKE.

Maybe he’ll think outside the box (that the cat’s in) and count it as 0.5 of a winner! :)

A little while ago when we were debating whether odds on shots should be excluded from the naps comp I feel quite sure that @Alastair made a comment along the lines of we haven't mentioned each way bets, if one selects an 11/2 chance then the profit is only 5p.  This is why I queried this with Alastair.  If a profit has not been made then I don't see how it can count as a winner.

Well we’ll find out soon enough whether it’s counted as a winner or not but, regardless of that, there’s no reason such a pick cannot be selected. If it places and drifts it would be a winner, if it places but goes off no bigger than 5s it’s still a bet added to the tally that returned its stake even if not added to the winners tally.
