Not sure what's going on with BetVictor, but they keep sending me "free bets" sometimes just a quid, other times a fiver to bet on their Sports Book. I guess they've noticed I'm not interested in the Casino Games, I'm not that daft that I'd bet against a computer game hell bent on mesmerising me while it picks my pocket.

I guess being a new client, they are trying to profile me. I only opened an account with them to get the 50/1 and the 55/1 that the Wunderers would be relegated, I've not backed on anything else with them.

You'd think that by now they'd have noticed that the three £1 free bets and the £5 free bet have gone on the same bet. I just put the "bonus fiver" on the same bet at 40/1 I can't believe they are still offering anything over 10/1, maybe they know more than I do, but I'd take 2/5 on that bet, I'm itching to break the story, but I'll have to bide my time, hellish though aint it when you have to bite yer tongue, and just keep watching from periscope depth ?

The latest from the Wunderers camp is, Team Manager, Ian Evatt, has just signed Peter Kioso from Luton town, telling the fans that "this 21 year old RB is a flyer", well he didn't do much flying at Luton. IE goes on to say "that he's brought in a Championship player" well he might have travelled on the Team Coach but far as I know he only ever laced his boots up once for Luton, but he has played over 60 games in Non League, scoring once every 800 minutes or so, with a record like that he should fit in real well with the rest of the Wunderers squad. Kioso is also better known for the Yellow Cards he gets than anything else, not something that I'll complain about though on either count...

Evatts says "Peter is another significant signing to strengthen the squad and given time they'll all be household names." I reckon Evatt's is delusional, most of his signings aren't even household names in their own homes.

Bolton Wunderers 1 Oldham Athletic 2

What a game that was, Oldham went for it straight from the kick off, putting in a more "Athletic" performance than the Wunderers. Oldham could have gone at least 2 up in the first 20 or so minutes. The ball finally figured out where it's supposed to go in the 28th minute. I have to give credit where it's due, it was a wake up call for the Wunderers and within 4 minutes it was 1-1, that took the top off my celebratory pint.

They went in at HT still 1-1 both teams had their chances but the closer calls came off the Oldham boots of Rowe and Barrnett.

Second half was end to end stuff, both teams going for it, beggars belief how McAleny's chip shot over Bolton's goalkeeper Crellin didn't go in the net, hitting the INSIDE of the upright and bouncing back out. Less than a minute later McAleny's shot at goal was inches wide. By now it was wave after wave by Oldham, playing with confidence, but Bolton weren't idle either, they had their chances but didn't know what to do with them, squandering more than a few opportunities.

Here's what the Stats say.

Possesion: Bolton 61% no wonder with all that back passing and own half passing.

Shots Bolton 11 Oldham 17.

Shots on Target: Bolton 3 Oldham 3.

Corners: Bolton 2 Oldham 9

That gives you an idea that it was end to end stuff, but, at...

60 minutes 1-1

70 minutes 1-1

80 minutes still 1-1 but Oldham throwing the kitchen sink at the Wunderers, but they had a couple of chances on break aways. Wunderers Gnahoua faced an open goal, but he shoots straight at Oldham's goalie. At this point with both teams committed you could sense there'd be a late goal. So at 85 minutes, not wanting it to go the wrong way I'm reaching for the wife's Rosary Beads, they've conjured up many a last gasp goal for me, and I needed one now...

90 minutes still 1-1 the bloke with the board says 5 minutes left to play, it amazing how many Hail Mary's per minute you can say when you need a goal. I must have been doing something right, it's all Oldham again now, one corner, then another. Oldham knew defending set pieces is the Wunderers Achilles Heel. The Wunderers clear both corners, but the second one falls for Oldham who attack again, like men possessed.

The ball falls for Dearnley, he slaps it straight into the net in the 93rd minute. If I'd been on the field for Oldham I'd have been looking for Row Z every time the ball came near me, but they're going for another goal and damn near made it 3-1.

With a last gasp rescue mission in mind the Wunderers threw all the Mid fielders and Forwards into the fray but that went wrong. Oldham got the ball and went 4 against 2 heading for the penalty box, how they muffed that up gawd only knows.

Moments later the Ref blew the whistle. Can't say I've ever seen a team walk off the pitch looking more dejected than the Wunderers looked, not to mention that their Manager had a longer face than Red Rum, Pas Moi though, I'm "made up".

Not sure what to make of their next game, away to Barrow on Tuesday. Barrow is the stone the Wunderers Manager crawled out from under before heading to Bolton, so there'll be needle in that match too. If they can't beat lowly Barrow the Bookies might as well start paying up on the Relegation bets.

Their game next Saturday is against Cambridge United, gawd help them in that game, Cambridge are top of League Two, P6 W4 D1 L1 Goals for 15, Goals against 3.

If only Harrogate had seen Bolton off hey, but with 18 points played for and only 4 points in the bag that 50/1 is looking promising.

C'mon Barrow, see 'em off ?

Chances are Michael dint want much for his tea tonight...

I try to leave the individual games alone, I've enough money on the Relegation bet, last thing I want to do is back the opposition and double jeopardy myself, but it's sorely tempted me to back whoever the Wunderers play.

They are already a sinking ship, it's just a matter of time before they take a broadside, off the pitch, when that happens they'll go down faster than Stormy Daniels.

Forget Tuesday nights match with Barrow that could be a bit of a coin toss. Now next Saturday Bolton away to Cambridge. You can get 6/4 with Bet365 currently. With Paddypower you can get 4/1 on -1 handicap or 10/1 on -2 handicap. Cambridge have scored 15 in 6 games and conceded just 3. To say you can get 4/1 on -1 handicap for Barrow who have only scored 4 and conceded 7. I know where my money will go.

Hello Alley Cat, I hear what you say, but I'm up to me rollocks with that 50/1 Relegation bet and being a tad superstitious I fear jinxing myself by betting on whoever the Wunderers play, but that 6/4 {see below} beggars belief, how can they make Cambridge 8/15 at home to Scnuthorpe and anything other than that at home to the Wunderers ???

https://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/league-2/cambridge-v-bolton/winner

At 6/4 with the Goals For 15 Goals against 3, League topping Cambridge would be 2/7 if I HAD to lay them. I wouldn't fancy taking 700 quid to lose 200, and I wouldn't even dream of taking 7 grand to lose 2 grand, so I don't know what's going on in "the Traders" minds, maybe their braces are too tight or the 2/- Corona's are fogging their minds.

As for giving a goal start, I've burned several fingers and a good many £ notes over the years giving goals away only to see my team win 1 bowt, so I steer clear of handicap bets now, but I can't argue with the value that's on offer.

A bit of related news here, it  was beginning to look like Southend would be certain to fill one of the relegation places, they weren't doing well on the pitch and they were being chased up by HMRC for almost £500,000 due at the end of this month, but as they say  "it's never over 'till the fat lady sings" it's looking like the tide is turning for the Shrimpers.

Seems they have sold off some land to a developer that should see them through their debt crisis, if you can call it a crisis compared to the £5 Million or so that Bolton have to find by August 2021, not to mention the £100,000 or so per week in operating costs just to keep the lights on at the stadium.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54177652

It's one thing to sort the debts out, it's another to start getting points in the bag, but it looks like Southend are heading in the right direction with their new signings, including...

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54583228

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54479519

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54418293

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54191258

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54041152

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53851086

At least the Directors of Southend are showing intent, the players above should get them off bottom place, and now that the debt seems to be sorted they don't have a 14 point Admin deduction hanging over their heads the way the Wunderers do.

In fact it's worse than that if the Wunderers go into Admin, they get hit with the standard 14 point deduction plus another 5 points carried over from last year, how many clubs would escape relegation with 19 points deducted from their tally.

The Bookies still have Southend at 4/7 to be relegated, but taking the above into consideration I think the Shrimpers will dodge that bullet, their results seem to be improving since a bad start to the season...

Sept 12: Southend 0 Harrogate 4.

Sept 19: Carlisle 2   Southend  0.

Sept 26: Southend 1 Morecambe 2.

Oct 3rd: Crawley 1 Southend   1.

Oct 10th: Southend 2 Exeter 2.

Oct 17th: Southend 0 Cheltenham 2.

Harrogate are 7th in the League, Carlisle 5th, Morecambe 6th, Crawley 9th, Exeter 12th and Cheltenham are 3rd in the League. Southend haven't played any of the soft touches yet, so their lowly position doesn't tell the whole of the story.

Southend may have a tough season ahead of them, but Scnuthorpe look more likely to be relegated, they have 4 TOUGH games coming up, I'd be surprised if Scnuthorpe get more than 2 points out of the next 12 they play for.

Time will tell...

Barrow 3 Wunderers 3

What a game that was, Barrow scored in the first minute, and went 2-0 up by the fourth minute, just when it looked like the floodgates would open Bolton's latest signing Kioso make it 2-1 in the sixteenth minute. But four minutes later Barrow go 3-1 up, at that point I'm thinking it's Nul Points for the Wunderers, only to see them pull one back just before HT to make it 3-2.

It was end to end stuff in the second half, both teams trying to be worse than the other, it was like two different teams came out to play the second half. Both teams had chances but as the clock ticked on it was looking like Barrow would at least hold on if they didn't score again. At 90 minutes it was 3-2, the boardman seemed to be having trouble with the 3 minute button, I could clearly see him hitting 3, time and again, but it must have been stuck, so with the Ref looking at him more than once he presses 4 !!!

I wouldn't mind but this must distracted the Ref...

91 Minutes 3-2

92 minutes 3-2

93 minutes 3-2

93 minutes and 127 seconds the Wunderers grab a goal from nowhere, GUTTED ?

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54519156

So the Wunderers go home with a point, but the night wasn't a disaster, thanks to Oldham pulling a goal back against Carlisle to draw 1-1 they push the Wunderers down a place from 19th to 20th, I'll take that,

After playing 7 games now the Wunderers have bagged 5 points, if it wasn't for that freak result when they beat Harrogate 2-1 they'd be down at the bottom with Southend.

I can't wait for the next game now, unless the sky falls when they play Cambridge who banged 3 in tonight against Port Vale we should be looking at P8 W1 D2 L5 GF6  GA16.

If that's not relegation form then I don't know what is, it's certainly not a 50/1 shot.

But the second string to our bow also looks promising, I hear the 125 room Whites Hotel owned by FV is lucky to have more than a handful of guests, gawd knows where the money is coming from to keep it going.

If the Hotel drags the Club into Admin there's an automatic 19 point deduction, that would be the end game for the Wunderers in more ways than one...

I suppose FV could sell the Hotel and use the money to prop up the Wunderers, but who wants a £7 Million Hotel anywhere right now, let alone one in Bolton.

Tough times for Football Ventures (known locally as Vanity Ventures), ownership of Football Clubs is a minefield for novices even in the good times.

Wish I'd seen this thread earlier! Still 25/1 with Betvictor though.

Taken some 30/1 with Mark Jarvis.

Welcome to the fray Yossa, it's a pity you didn't see the thread earlier, the 50/1 & the 55/1 are long gone, but 25/1 is a value bet more so the 30/1 odds.

I guess you are up to speed now on what's been said, and Thanks to the Wunderers what's been done, hopefully Cambridge U add to the misery this Saturday, but there's more to the bet than meets the casual eye, that 19 point deduction hanging over their head wouldn't open the trap door into the Vanarama Northern League.

That would drop the Wunderers into oblivion, you can't run a stadium like the "Reebok" {as most locals still call it} off the back of Vanarama attendances.

I wonder if the Bookies have taken that into account ? I'm guessing not...

As mentioned Football Ventures also own the 125 room Whites Hotel, it was part & parcel of deal when FV bought BWFC out of Administration, what a deal that was {not}. The Club and the Hotel were brought out of Administration owing more money then caused it to fall into Admin, does that make ANY sense to you ?

The FV deal went through last August, carrying a £5 Million millstone on FV's back. I guess that the Hotel was doing reasonably well prior to Covid paying us all a visit.

Can you imagine how quick that milk went sour, within a matter of a few months of taking on the Club and the Hotel they get hit with Covid, the turnstiles are locked and the Hotel found itself at Ground Zero, Bolton became the most infected place in the UK !!!

How do you think that affected Bookings, add to that, FV inherited a debt of £2,000 a day, everyday until the end of 2020, a mortgage payment I think it was, where does that money come from ? I know where it WON'T come from, folks aren't keen to throw good money after bad. But unless it comes from somewhere the Club & the Hotel could be back in Administration before you can say Vanity Venture.

So, what's happening on the pitch is bad enough, the Wunderers have bagged just 5 points from the 21 played for, hopefully that will be 5 from 24 played for by 5pm this Saturday when they play League Toppers, Cambridge United.

Add to that, the BWFC Fans are freaking out about Ian Evatt, before a ball had even been kicked he promised them they'd play like Juventus, turns out they are more Fray Bentos than Juventus, The Fans have little to no faith in Evatt, little if ANY confidence in the team, right down to who gets selected.

If that's not bad enough some Fans who thought Football Ventures known locally as The Punch and Judy "that's NOT the way to do it" Show are beginning to wonder if FV are leading them to the Promised Land or over the cliff to oblivion.

To say that there's dissent and division in the ranks is to put it politely, not that I'm complaining ?

It's hard to say which is in worse shape, the Club or the Hotel, but they say trouble comes in 3's and I'm sure it will, can't say more than that right now, other than to say you've got a decent bet at 25's and 30's.

Punch & Judy must be desperate to pull a stunt like this for the sake of £25, it's not going down well with some of their Fans, check the comments out.

https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/18817521.bolton-wanderers-stream-bradford-game-whites-hotel/

You can't watch the game in the open air of the stadium, that wouldn't be safe, but £25 gets you and 5 of yer mates a table in the bar where you can watch the game, chicken wings or steak pudding an' chips at HT, then drown your sorrows as the goals go in...

Cambridge 1 Wunderers 1

How does that chaos theory go...

"If a butterfly flaps it's wings in Mexico, it kicks off a storm somewhere".

By the time the teams took to the pitch it was hissing down, Bolton must have won the toss as Cambridge started out playing into a strong wind and driving rain, hard to see the posts let alone put ball between them.

The first half was a dour affair, just the odd half chance from either team, then minutes into the second half the Wunderers put the ball into the net, the only explanation for that was they were now playing into a headlong gale, so they couldn't see what they were doing, thankfully the linesman could though, flag up, "Offside", goal disallowed...

25 minutes into the second half Bolton's goalie Crellin went up to punch Iredale's cross but the wind took it over him, bounced off the post and into the net, Crellin awarded the goal ?

I have to give the Wunderers credit, they didn't throw a {much needed} towel in, they dug in just as Cambridge thought they'd done enough, and less than 10 minutes after going 1-0 down the Wunderers made it 1-1 with a great build up to score one of the softest goals you'll ever see ?

What can I say other than matches are won, lost or drawn "on the day" and no thanks to that bl**dy Mexican butterfly and the gale it invoked for Cambridge it's a point gained for the Wunderers. The 6 points that Bolton have right now raises them to 18th of 24 but it's tight down there, four teams behind them are on 5 points, Sc*nthorpe {who put the c*nt in Scun thorpe} are on 4 points with poor old Southend {who I mention in prayer every day} on just 2 points.

The Wunderers next game on Tuesday is at home to Bradford, Newport beat Bradford 3-0 today. Bradford are 15th in the League, 3 points ahead of the Wunderers, so the game is a potential 6 pointer in the Relegation stakes.

I wouldn't want to make a Book on that game, it could easily go one way or the other, let's hope that someone swatted that butterfly, we don't want any more games where the weather plays a bigger role in the game than the players do...

Wunderers 1 Bradford 0

Well that didn't go to plan, more so when Bradford missed a Penalty, well when I say "missed" it was saved by Crellin, he's put more balls into the net than anyone else on the team this season, the fans have been howling for his head for weeks now, no doubt they'll be carrying him about on their shoulders now, but how the **** do you not score from a Penalty. I wouldn't mind if Billy Clarke had put the ball over the bar, but to see Crellin save it / get in the way of it, beggared belief, more so when Bradford got a second stab at it ? It's at times like this you get the feeling that the flux of the universe is running against you, but every dog has its day...

Those 3 points that the Wunderers bagged tonight puts them on 9 points from 9 games, that puts them up to 16th of the 24 in League 2. I can live with that, seeing as 3 teams are on 9 points, another 3 teams on 8 points, and a couple of those teams with a game in hand on Bolton.

We could use a good result on Saturday to take the steam out of the Wunderers valves, they play Leyton Orient, who held (no mugs) Exeter 1 -1 tonight, a win for the O's would derail the Wunderers and put us back on track, 9 points from 10 games works for me.

Not the result I'd hoped for tonight, but it's early days yet, a LOT can happen between here and Boxing Day.

Leyton Orient 4 Bolton Wunderers 0

Happy Days hey, what a result that was, I fancied that the O's would beat the Wunderers but noting that the O's hadn't won a game at home this season I kept my powder dry.

Nice to watch the Wunderers warming up, gives you a good idea of what's to come...

One for Jodrell Bank

More chance of Jodrell Bank picking that up than his mate. I hope the lad isn't driving the coach home, hard to live that shot down when it'll be on YT, for the next 30 years.

Anyway, the game kicks off and with just 20 seconds on the clock a sloppy back pass from Baptiste puts Crellin in trouble as Johnson pounces on it only to be brought down in the box by Crellin. Without a second thought the Ref blows for a Penalty, to be honest I'm amazed that Crellin didn't get a straight Red Card.

It looked like a great start to the game, Johnson steps up, takes the shot but it's saved by Crellin, for a moment I'm wondering if I'm in an alternate reality, Crellin let's more in than the back door of a brothel.

I'm told that at HT the Luton Manager asked the Ref why Cellin hadn't been sent off, seems the Ref thought it was a harsher punishment for the Wunderers to leave Crellin on ?

When a game starts that way you begin to wonder if the tide is running against you, but just 7 minutes later Johnson redeemed himself putting Orient 1-0 ahead.

Trouble int Wunderers Camp, the most promising player they have right now is about to be recalled by Luton, add that knock to their Injury list and you'll see why the Wunderers supporters are getting a bit techy, read their comments...

Trouble int Camp

Here's what the Bookies think...

Wunderers v Mansfield

You have to be in Bad shape to be 13/8 against winning on yer own pitch against Mansfield P10 WO D6 L4.

Mansfield would normally be happy with a point against the Wunderers, but they must fancy their chance to grab all 3 on Tuesday night.

The Wunderers game tonight is a vital game, for them, for Mansfield and for us.

A win for the Wunderers would be a nasty knock for us, a draw would be tolerable, but that's not what we are looking for, a WIN for Mansfield would be BRILLIANT. Not only would that have Mansfield leapfrog the Wunderers, but it would push them deeper into the mire.

More so if, and I know it's a long shot if Oldham and Stevenage both win tonight, that would put Bolton 3rd from bottom in League 2, it's asking a lot, but, stranger things have happened.

As long as Mansfield win that'll do for me, the rest of it is in the lap of the Gods.

Wunderers 1 Mansfield 1

Mansfield went 1-0 up in the 57th minute and looked to be in control of the game.

85 minutes 1-0

86 minutes 1-0

87 minutes 1-0

88 minutes 1-0

89 minutes still 1-0

90th f in minute and the Wunderers level it, ARRRGGGHHH, GUTTED!!!

I thought this game was in the bag, finished up like a kick in the bag, but, at least Oldham did the honours, beating Cheltenham 2-1. Relegation rivals Stevenage made a game of it they were 1-0 down against Colchester after just 11 minutes, but levelled it 4 minutes later and were looking good until 42 minutes later when they went 2-1 down, then late in the game Colchester made it 3-1 in the 81st.

The end result for us is, the Wunderers drop from 19th to 20th, that's a move in the right direction ?  with just...

Stevenage, just 3 points behind, I don't see them as relegation fodder.

Mansfield,  also 3 points behind, they'll move up with a new Manager.

Scun thorpe 6 points behind, but 3 games in hand, games cancelled by Wu Flu.

Southend, poor old Southend hey, they're stood firmly on the trap door.

Hopefully Stevenage, Mansfield, and Scun thorpe will drag themselves out the mire, but with a goal difference of -20 and just 2 points on the board looks like they're doomed.

That's becomes a relegation battle between the Wunderers Stevenage, Mansfield & Scun thorpe. It's not bad value having a 50/1 shot in a 4 horse race is it.

November is likely to be a tough month for the Wunderers, their next game is at home to Crewe in the FA Cup, I'd bet money the coach driver and the turnstile men take to the field for that game, I think the Bookies have the odds wrong on that game, Crewe look a good thing to me...

https://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/fa-cup/bolton-v-crewe/winner

If memory serves me well Crewe have already beaten the Wunderers twice this year. That game is followed by an EFL Trophy game against Newcastle U21, no doubt that a high priority game for the Wunderers too {not}.

The serious business starts again on the 21st away to Stevenage, if ever there was relegation battle so early in the season this is it, I fancy Stevenage, time will tell.

The following Tuesday they are away to Scun thorpe, back to back relegation battles, another 6 pointer, if Scun thorpe have their act and match fitness together after a 3 match lay off due to Wu Flu they could have Bolton on their knees and set desperation in their ranks...

I don't want to talk about December, it starts with Bolton away to Southend, sigh, hopefully by then some rich Arab or Kim Jung-Un will have bought the club and signed Messi, Ronaldo, Vardi and De Gea, that should do it, with a bit of luck, but we'll jump that fence when we come to it.

As for the Wunderers Fans, well, credit to one of them who after the match phoned in to Bolton FM asking for a dedication for the Team Manager, Ian Evatt, the DJ {taking it seriously} asked him what song he would like, he said...

"The one by the Moody Blues"

DJ "Oh, you mean Knights in White Satin" {seeing as Bolton play in white}?"

"No" the bloke says, "the one from 1965... GO NOW" !!!

At that point you could hear one of them slam the phone down ?

Onwards & Upwards hey...

Would agree Crewe look the wrong price against Bolton in the FA Cup. Normally a good footballing side and would expect them to win by a clear goal or two.

You missed the excitement of Friday 13th, could that be an omen for someone! Live on Sky Sports ‘ Bolton v Salford’ a good looking Manchester derby. Could be an interesting watch. Then come as you say 3 tight games that could define several teams season.

Let’s hope for the right sort of swing.

90th minute heartbreaker!

Aye, well, sometimes that's the way the Universe tests our metal. Relegation battles are more like a roller coaster ride than a one way slide into oblivion, well, unless you're a Southend supporter, looks to me like they'll be the first good cooked before Christmas.

The odd thing is, the Bookies still have the Wunderers at 16/1 or better to be relegated, you'd think they'd be factoring in the chance of the club going into Administration that and the 14+5 point deduction would finish them. I can't see the Wunderers bagging 19 points this side of Boxing Day, but it wouldn't surprise me to see them go bust before the end of this year, or soon after. Time will tell, I'll hand on for the ride, it's the first 50/1 chance that I've ever backed, and the first 50/1 chance that I even looked at seriously.

Other than the above, there's another factor that I'm aware of, but I can't mention in here, but the clock is ticking on that limpet mine too...

Yer right Alley Cat, HOW did I miss that, I guess I was just looking at the Saturday and the Tuesday games. I knew in the back of my mind that the Wunderers were due to play Salford, as you say a Manchester derby game, just a 20 minute drive from one ground to the other along the M61.

I'm looking forward to that game, Friday the 13th, you couldn't make it up could you, the way Salford are playing they'll take the Wunderers apart. The mood at the Reebok is woeful at the moment, the supporters are baying for blood, the Manager Ian Evatt is under seige, Head of Football Management Tobias Phoenix {how's that for a Porn Star name} is probably the most hated man in Bolton right now.

Owners, Football Ventures aka the Punch & Judy / Michael & Sharon seem to be asleep at the helm as their ship sails closer and closer to the rocks. It'll be an historic event, one worth watching, one worth having a bet on, especially if someone is daft enough to lay you 50/1  ?

Damn Bolton get a 95 min equaliser ffs... Oh well, Cambridge on Saturday lol

The bastards did it again last night hey, not to mention how they did the same thing in EXTRA TIME when they grabbed a 3-3 draw at Barrow.

I'm sure they have a Priest on the payroll in the Directors Box !!!

Yeah the next match it could be a 90th minute equaliser the right way. My sister lives in Howich so I know the area pretty well. I'll have to ask her to keep her ear to the ground about anymore rumours!!

"Ear to the ground" well, ears one for you, check out what the Fans are saying...

Speaking of Horwich, I used to run with Horwich Harriers about 300 years ago, well, it feels like that now, it's a LONG time ago. Ran in the Pike Race a couple of times, I guess you know about that brutal Fell race. Had more than the odd pint in the Toll Bar "in the day" fond memories of Horwich.
