StevieDay1983 Posted March 30, 2018 Author Share Posted March 30, 2018 Stuttgart vs Hamburger SV It is another week that has passed without a win for Hamburger SV and the prospect of Bundesliga II football next season becomes ever more real with every passing game. This weekend they travel to the Mercedes-Benz Arena to play an impressive Stuttgart. Will it be another dent in their hopes of survival? The hosts are enjoying a very positive season. Tayfun Korkut's side lie in 8th place and just 6 points off the European qualification spots. It's been a fantastic spell for the new manager after replacing Hannes Wolf back in January. It is now 7 league games unbeaten for his team and they are looking in great form. Things are not so cheery in the Hamburger SV camp. Christian Titz is the club's third manager of this campaign but his solitary game in charge so far has been a defeat. This saw the club sit bottom of the Bundesliga table on 18 points. That means they are now 7 points off safety with just 7 games remaining. Time is running out. A wild card of the new manager adds a degree of unpredictability to this game but after his first game in charge just before the international break there were no real signs that Titz can work miracles. The problem lies with the players. This set of players are not good enough to keep Hamburger SV in the Bundesliga. Stuttgart should be their latest conquerors. The in-form side might even nick it with a tight one-goal victory but I can't see the away side breaking the habit of their awful away form here. The travellers have earned just 5 points on the road this campaign. The fact they have also failed to register a single goal in almost two-thirds of their away matches is also huge cause for concern. I can see them failing to trouble Stuttgart's defence here too. Dark days to be a Hamburger SV fan.
