Sunday 20th August

Tottenham v Chelsea

Now were to begin with these two....

First up is Tottenham, tremendous team with plenty of energy and surly to good not to be challenging for the title??

Well I don't think any will argue with the tremendous comment but I think the title unfortunately won't be going back to the lane this year, sorry Tottenham fans.

Why not?

Well we have all seen the massive improvement Manchester United have made, Liverpool look stronger this year again and Manchester City will be much more solid this year, and those 3 reasons are why I believe they won't be bring the title back...there is also one more Wembley!!

Wembley is not White Hart Lane and that's were the problem lies. Teams will go there and there performance will show a massive increase, and why wouldn't it when your playing at the national stadium.

Then we have Chelsea....

Defending champions, one of the best players in the world in Hazard within the team and a top class manager in Conte, everything should be nice and rosey, shouldn't it....

It certainly doesn't seem that way from the outside though does it, opening day defeat, players want out and not all seems happy from the gaffer.

Were does that leave us for tomorrow's match up, I see two very good teams who just don't seem to be were they need to be, or want to be.

However I can't ignore the fact that Chelsea would not have wanted to be going to the Lane tomorrow after that defeat versus Burnley but going to Wembley is a total different ball game, look at West Ham last year going to the Olympic stadium.

Tottenham always look dangers whoever they are playing and they will want to get a win under there belts asap at there new home ground, but they could be suspect at the back in these new surroundings, and open to plenty of attacks down the flanks which Chelsea love to use in there play.

This should leave us with a very open and entertaining Sunday match up.....

Summary

1pt BTTS Tottenham v Chelsea 3/4 Betfair

Tottenham were expected to beat Newcastle but this will be their biggest test. Not only are they facing London rivals Chelsea, but Spurs are starting life in their new temporary home, Wembley. Mauricio Pochettino's side have a dreadful recent record at the home of football and it could really undo their title challenge if they fail to adapt.

Chelsea, meanwhile, have started the season dreadfully, but have beaten Tottenham at Wembley as early as April. Antonio Conte's side are in disarray at the moment and it's incredibly difficult to predict how this match will play out considering all the factors at hand.

Top prediction for this match: Draw or Chelsea to WIN (1,73 in bet365)

They failed the last time they played them lol

i give you 1 percent chance and that's all. have you seen the players man city bought in the transfer window. the attacking talent is the best in europe at the moment along with real madrid and barcelona. if you win that bet it's going to be some call.

Man CIty v Everton

Monday night football opens with a bang. A huge fixture, but where is the bet value and the smart money going ?

City look impressive. They have quality in abundance. The bench looks ridiculously strong. However, the bottom line is that you can only put 11 players on the field at once.

Man for man Everton don't match up badly. They need to start believing that they belong with the big boys. Ditch their inferiority complex, play well and hold your own.

You gain respect and you develop your own inner identity and confidence. Rooney was brought in to guide, help confidence, and change the mindset.

Everton have to keep the game tight and be patient. An open game will not help their cause ! They have a more than decent squad, and mentally, they now have to step up and believe. Excellent signings and players have a real opportunity to shine. Do you step up or fold ? What an opportunity, that Ross Barkley must be cursing on missing and not being part of.

Keep the game tight and compact, frustrate City and then see what happens. They need to pile forward on free kicks and set pieces. These will be the best opportunities for goals.

Away Double chance (Win/draw) - Odds 3.6

Monday 21st August

Manchester City v Everton

Apologises for the short summary for this bet.

Manchester City averaged 7.95, 8.16, 8.95, 8.16 and 7.53 corners over the last 5 seasons.

Everton have averaged 4, 4.95, 4.68, 5.63 and 5.84 corner over the last 5 seasons.

Already both have shown all be it after only one match a desire to attack down the flanks with Manchester City having 10 in the first game and Everton having 6.

The quotes of Over 11.5 at slightly odds on is more then acceptable for tonight's match.

Summary

1pt Over 11 Corner Manchester City v Everton 19/20 Victor Chandler

Manchester City looks like a joke now after splashing so much money. But still, only the 2nd matchweek and we shall see how things unfold itself

Will Pep Guardiola once again prove himself that he can only lead ultra-star teams, we shall see for this season.

Even tough my prediction won, I was really not impressed by EVerton. They really showed very little and were dominated by 10 men. How are they not able to pass the ball around ? These are professionals, and the only plan they had was to hoof it down the flanks and hope for the best !

I expected more craft and skill from them...

Pep is overrated. Carried by Messi, Xavi, Iniesta all these years. And even a monkey would win the German league with that Bayern squad. He will never win the EPL. Too much competition. But I'm sure he goes crying to the Arabs "I can't work with these players. I need Hazard, Lukaku, Kane, Kante, Coutinho, Pogba,..."
