gogetta
Bragantino vs Criciuma Hosts come from six consecutive defeats, the latest 2-1 loss away to Goias. It is the first team in the relegation zone. But the team has shown some improvement under the radar, not yet reflected in the results. In the last two matches, 1-0 loss at home to nautico and 2-1 away to Goias, two realistic draws were snatched away by conceding a last-minute goal! The team is strong defensively apart from individual errors. Moreover, in the latest match against Goias, the team displayed offensive reaction after conceding and got chances to have won the match, and missing the draw through a controversial penalty to the home team. Therefore the team comes into this game more resilient and determined to correct the errors of the previous games. Coach Marcelo Veiga has two additions for this game - defender Diego Sacoman and Watson both return from suspension; though he misses striker Leo Jaime for red card in the last game. Criciuma is in form but is severely short-handed for this match; missing two full-backs, a central defender and two key central midfielders. Facing a desperate and highly motivated host and with key absences, I do not expect Criciuma to get a result. gogetta
Criciuma vs Londrina Home side is coming from two straight defeats and has fallen 6 points away from the promotion zone (G4); the latest game was a 2-1 home loss to table-leaders Atletico-Go through a 90-minute goal! Therefore, the hosts seek a reaction and Coach Roberto Cavalo will deploy a 3-man attack (Adalgiso, Niltinho and Roberto); in the absence of another striker Jheimy due to injury. 4th-placed Londrina needs at least a point in this tie, to avoid falling behind to direct G4 competitors Nautico and Bahia - both of whom are playing at home in this round. Coach Claudio Tencati will miss influential central midfielder and captain Germano plus fellow midfielder Anderson (both suspended). Hosts have been recently hampered by ineffective attack and poor defence. For the high-flying visitors, even with the two midfield absences, the squad is well assimilated to the coach's tactical scheme ie mastery of the ball while controlling the opponent. Indeed Coach Tencati's plan is to endure the hosts' early pressure before imposing his own game, organization and seek victory. gogetta
Luverdense vs Criciuma Hosts come from a 1-1 draw away to Oeste, played seven days ago and therefore have had a week to prepare for this home game. In this second phase of the Serie B championship, Luverdense have the best utilization of their home ground - with 100% wins. With 47 points and in 10th spot, Luverdense has already achieved their first priority of evading relegation but their second objective is to end the championship in the top 11; so that their youth teams participate in the Under 17 and Under 20 Brazil cups. Coach Junior Rocha's squad is full, with the return of important central midfielder Ricardo (from suspension) for this round. Hosts need a result here because their next game will be away to Vasco Da Gama. Criciuma played a 1-1 home draw against Londrina on saturday, a result that severely dented their promotion hopes. Although Club Executive Director Paulo Pelaipe has stated that the team will continue to fight for promotion as long as their is still a mathematical possibility, their chances are now less realistic. Saturday's game and the subsequent travel to Lucas do Rio Verde has meant that the team had only one preparatory training session (Monday afternoon). The team's undoing in this second phase of the championship has been ineffective attack (sold their topscorer mid-season) and poor defence. For this match, Coach Roberto Cavalo misses important defender Diego Giaretta (suspension) as well as striker Adalgiso (injury) - another striker Jheimy had been injured earlier. Luverdense is fresher, with no absences and a very good recent home record; while Criciuma coach seeks to revive a depleted team whose promotion hopes were dented in a tough home game last saturday. gogetta
Vila Nova vs Bahia Vila Nova hosts this game certain of survival in the Serie B and ruled out of promotion; hence the remaining goal is to finish the campaign ahead of bitter local rivals Goias. Vila Nova should also be using this final stretch of the campaign to plan for 2017 but this is paralyzed amidst an administrative vacuum and a financial crisis; club president Gutemberg Veronez resigned in October and elections for the new president will be held next wednesday, to be followed by other management changes in the club. Thus playing and coaching staff are unsettled regarding contract negotiations/renewals. Coach Guilherme Alves has already indicated that he will not stay after departure of the former club president; while some players who have performed well this season could be lured away by other clubs. Meanwhile players' salaries for September and October are yet to be paid. The hosts come from a 1-0 loss away to relegation strugglers Tupi, a result that extinguished any promotion hopes. Coach Guilherme Alves was also dismissed for offending the fourth official and is suspended for this clash; team will be led by his assistant, Leandro Silva. Team will also miss key central midfielder Geovani due to suspension (third yellow card), while striker Johnny is still out injured. Vila Nova has generally had an irregular performance; among the three worst teams at home but with better results away from home, using the speed of their forwards to score on the counter-attack. The visitors (Bahia) are chasing promotion, in 5th spot with 53 points, and are on momentum - four games unbeaten (three wins and a draw). They come from a 3-1 home win over Ceara; in which Bahia was shocked to concede a goal first but rallied in the second half and scored three goals. But the team has been disappointing away from home; with only two wins, six draws and eight losses. Nevertheless, they have improved defensively and Coach Guto Ferreira seeks an away win to maintain their promotion momentum. In preparatory training, Guto Ferreira applied a strong defence versus attack sessions. He has a full squad, with return of both midfielder Luiz Antonio and striker Misael from suspension, and no injuries. Vila Nova have been poor at home all season. They are assured of survival and have no real competitive motive for this game, while facing off-field distractions. But they face a fully motivated, promotion-chasing Bahia team that seeks all three points. Away win.

gogetta
Oeste vs Avai Hosts are walking a relegation tight-rope, being first out of the relegation zone and three points away from the team below. Oeste has under-performed in this second phase of the championship but Coach Fernando Diniz has stuck to his style and set out a team that has not been winning of recent - but hard to beat with five straight draws now. While staving off relegation, Diniz is also building the team for next season, especially the Sao Paulo State championship (where he was runner-up this season). Promotion-chasing Avai comes into this game after an important 1-0 home win against Parana and gaining 3rd spot in the table; and is now paying particular attention to the next home game against direct promotion rival Nautico. To this end, Captain and key attacking midfielder Marquinhos has been saved from this game against Oeste; while the game-plan is also tailored to reduce physical wear, possible injury and risk of cards or suspension - ahead of that important game. With a 4-point cushion over Nautico, the key objective for Avai is to avoid defeat against Oeste. With both teams keen to avoid defeat in this encounter, Oeste Coach Diniz is likely to deploy his favored 3-4-3 formation to stifle the opponent. Avai Coach Claudine Oliveira will likely deploy an ultra-conservative scheme to foil the hosts, while conserving his players for the next game. Under 1.5 goals. Nautico vs Goias Promotion-chasing Nautico is coming from a disappointing 0-1 away loss to CRB, and is seeking an immediate reaction to recover points in this home tie. Hosts have a full squad with the return from suspension of three key players ie Left-back Gaston Filgeira, Midfielder Rodrigo Souza and striker Bergson. Goias is coming from a disastrous 4-2 derby loss to Atletico-Go; in which they got three players injured and another two suspended for this game. gogetta
2 hours ago, Teodore said: Guys what about Vasco and CRB wins ? any news? Not checked player availability yet but my initial thoughts: CRB vs Paysandu - Hosts definitely need the points to keep their promotion hopes alive, they are in better form and have head-to-head edge in this fixture. The visitors appear to be safe from relegation and could be tempted to relax and begin planning for next season by trying out some other players - but they've remained competitive in recent games especially defensive consistency. CRB themselves tend to play conservative at home. I feel Under 2.5 goals could be safer and offers a better return. Bragantino vs Vasco Da Gama - From the league table, this tie may look straight-forward but it is a potential banana skin! With only a couple of rounds left to the end of the season, Bragantino are fighting for their lives in this division, are difficult to beat at the moment and their hopes are pinned on getting maximum points from the remaining home games. The two teams appear to be on similar form, both picking five points from their respective five games recently. My concerns are - Vasco's form has recently declined and players appear to be growing more anxious as the team has slid from top of the table, they are struggling to score while conceding away from home, and they've not really dominated this fixture in the past. So, anything can happen in this game.
