Re: Tankys Tips Hard day Yesterday but the nap was landed plus another so it wasnt quiet a washout. 220 Ripon: ESCAPE PLAN made an impressive winning debut on soft ground @ Hamilton by 2ls from Glasshoughton. Aspen Falls who was 4th there has won since to boost the form. Escape Plan was then sent to Germany for its 2nd start to take in a Listed race and only went down in a driving finish to a horse called Electric Beat. Its up against some fair sorts Today but none of them are proven on rain softened ground so with conditions here perfect for Escape Plan, Im more than hopeful it can get back to winning ways. The Listed form should stand up now its dropped into Class 5 Novice Company. Other plus's are E.J. ONeill has his team in fine form and He does even better when teamed up with Graham Gibbons. (14/48, 29%, +£49). Most of these winners (11) have come with 2 year olds like this one. ONeill also has a record of 2/3 round here, 1/1 with a 2 year old. (Win) 300 Newton Abbot: CANTGETON will find the conditions of this race a lot easier than the task it was set lto when it tried to conceed weight all round to some highly rated sorts. In hindsight it did well to finish 3rd there. Todays race looks much easier and with the softer ground not looking to be an inconvenience for it on breeding, it can be another winner for The Pipe & Murphy combination. A reproduction of either its last race 3rd or its win @ Worcester earlier would easily be good enough to win here. Solid (Nap) 330 Newton Abbot: MISTER FLINT might have been flattered to have beaten Mr Ed just 3 days back but it was resolute there and jumped better the further the race went. Its a bold front runner but doesnt have to lead. Nazimabad could do that job but whether leading or sitting handy behind that rival Mister Flint looks the one to be on for Me. Richard Johnson has a great tactical brain and can steer home another winner for Phillip Hobbs who has his team in fine form at the moment having had 5 winners from his last 15 runners (33%) over the last fortnight. (Win) 420 Ripon: BAIE DES FLAMANDS made its debut in The Wood Ditton and has been tried in hogh quality Maidens since. Lto it showed that when its sights were lowered it has a decent level of ability by running 2nd behind Takafu. It was rated 74 for that effort which is 32lb superior to those others that have been assessed so far. Theres a couple of new comers in the field representing the big stables of Marks Johnston & Prescott. If one of those is seriously punted Id be slightly worried but would still be surprised if they could produce a run of that mark 1st time out. I think that Johnstons other runner Sea Kestral could turn out to be the biggest danger and thats the horse that I will be sticking in a small sf bet aswell. In this low level race Baie Des Flamands wont get a better chance to get some winning type. (Nb) All the best Tankyman

Re: Tankys Tips Cheers Guys. Acca was only 22/1 but made a few nice bets. Maybe its pushing My luck a bit much Today but Ive unearthed 1 more selection that looks worth a few quid. 750 Carlisle: ANNIBALE CARO holds 9 entries over the next 5 days including this one. It was fancied to win on its 1st start this season when upped in trip from 6 & 7f to 12f. The race was lost there though when it got spooked and fell to the ground on the way down to the start. That ordeal caused it to be a little bit keen in the race and despite travelling well it never quiet lasted home. With that experience under its belt it should be a lot more relaxed Today and I expect it to have the measure of these on its handicap debut. Prescott is 5/13 here (38%) & 4/9 (44%) with 3 year olds like this one. Sanders who rides also rides the course well with 4/16 (25%). He's 40% on the 3 year olds. Tonights best bet to Me. (Win)

Re: Tankys Tips Thx Guys A good day Yesterday with 5/5 so fingers crossed for a bit more. 215 Brighton: THOUGHTSOFSTARDOM is a daughter of the very speedy Mind Games and after learning plenty on its debut it was a very easy winner from Saxon Saint. That horse went on to win nto in a handicap of a mark of 61. The 4th home Bermuda Beauty was also a winner on its next start to give the form a solid look. Of a mark of just 64 here the selection could well have been let in here lightly by the handicapper. Kevin Burke & Franny Norton are 6/29 (20%) together this year and 3/6 together with 2 year olds. A lsp of £45 is also very impressive. (Nap) 300 Catterick: HIGH COMMAND ran a big race when finishing just behind a well rated one of Roger Charltons over 6f and that horse followed that up by just going down in a much better Conditions Stakes. Robustian who was 5th there has since won its Maiden. That level of form looks solid enough and to Me far superior to anything else its rivals have produced yet. Ed Dunlop & Jamie Spencer who teamed up with Red Racketeer Yesterday and this can keep the trend going. (Nb) 330 Catterick: COURT OF APPEAL was a ready winner here lto over cd from Chaka Zulu who itself won well on its very next start. Court of Appeal was entitled to win there and couldnt do it any easier. Its again the pick of the weights for this race but this time only by 3lb but thats from the slightly frustrating Yawmi. Its 12lb and upwards superior to the rest of the field and round this course that it goes well at (3,2,2,1,3,1) with conditions perfect and the best of the draw in stall 1 Court of Appeal can again come home in front. (Win) 615 Roscommon: HELENSBURGH comes here on the top of its game and can complete a quick fire treble under just a fixed 5lb penalty for its last win. Pat Hughes & DP McDonogh have a decent record together 3/12 (25%) this year and this horse that appears to go on all sorts of ground and battles with the heart of a lion looks a good bet against some less than resolute rivals. Re: Tankys Tips 2/4 Yesterday but sadly not the nap. 320 Pontefract: MR WOLF proved the other day that its upto winning of this new mark when 3rd over 6f @ Thirsk. It was apprentice ridden that day and the jockey Mullen never aided the cause by dropping his whip when still in front and having to ride a finish without it. Mr Wolf is blessed with plenty of natural speed and from stall 14 of 15 it can back that rail which is always adventagious here. Mr Wolf is 2/2 at this course by adopting those same tactics and Fergal Lynch who is 3/4 on this horse is thankfully back in the saddle Today. Lynch & David Barker have done well together this year with 8/28 (28%) and there record with 4yr olds plus is even better 7/19 (36%). The lsp of £32 also stands out well along with Barkers record of 10/32 (31%) over the last 28 days. (Win) 400 Newcastle: PASSION FRUIT produced a perfectly timed run lto to beat Zhitomir from a position many would have given it no chance of doing so due to the fact that it lost 6ls or more at the start. Zhitomir is 6lb better of Today due to Passion Fruits penalty but the style it picked up there make it look well capable of defying that rise. This horse is temperamental but at this lowish level it has that touch of class. P.Mulrennan takes of a useful 3lb and He looks great value for that. He just needs to hold it up, steer the right path and put the horses head in front in the last 50 yards. (Win) 420 Pontefract: JAMIESON GOLD can make Todays race 3rd time lucky in its quest to shed its Maiden. Both its starts so far have been full of potential. Firstly it ran 2nd behind Mutawajid (the 5th won nto) and then it produced another solid effort behind Playtotheaudience a horse well thought of by connections and entered in The Group 2 Gimcrack Stakes later this year. Barry Hills & Michael have a record of 6/29 (20%) when combined on a 2yr old here and this one against these rivals should boost that a bit more against rivals that have shown very little and newcomers that would have to be potentially rated 90 to lower its colours. (Nb) 430 Newcastle: OBLIQUE expect to see this one make giant strides this year. Its been slow to come to hand @ Prescott towers but over the last fortnight has been beating some decent handicappers of his on the gallops. This Giants Causeway filly like so many out of that breeding seems to be one that will improve with age and the step up in trip. Ridden Today by J.P Guillambert who has a record of 3/7 for Prescott (43%), Prescotts course record is also good 9/46 (20%) and his horses are in fine form atm 10/44 (22%) in the last 28 days. This horse holds many entries in future races over the next 10 days whcih is also a ploy that Prescott employs when he has a potentially lightly weighted prospect. (Nap) 730 Epsom: LANDUCCI might be a Brighton specialist having recorded all 5 of its wins there but on the 2 occassions its ran here at Epsom its proved it handles this difficult course. Thats no surprise really because there are certain similarities between both courses. On a day when they are racing @ Brighton it seems strange that they side step that meeting to run here. Lto over 8f @ Brighton it produced a career best and proved once and for all that it now stays 8f which is Todays trip. I even think 8f could become its optimum trip and more improvement is possible. This is its biggest task to date but at decent odds its worth a play to me. Hopefully by the time this race starts we will have a few quid in the kitty. (Win) All the best Tankyman

Re: Tankys Tips Thx Guys.. Yesterday went well with 4 winners 3/1 nap, 2/7 nb, 9/2 & 7/2. Just a pity that the last one could only manage 3rd @ 9/1 because that would have bust the bank. Oh well onwards and upwards I hope. 210 Haydock: MR SANDICLIFFE might look a bit suspect with 3 straight 2nd places but the truth of the matter is all 3 runs have been behind decent sorts and it will be very unlucky to find another to good for it under Todays conditions. On its penultimate start it finished just behind Hannons Hot who then went on to win again nto. It was well ahead of the 4th home John Claude & Yasood in 5th both of whom have won well since. Last time out it bumped into a even better horse in the smart Always Hopeful. That horse easily landed the Group 2 Richmond Stakes since. The 3rd home Supercast who was over 2ls behind mr Sandicliffe there trotted up on its next start in a similar race. Mr Sandicliffe has been given a rating of 84 for those performances and it will take a very smart newcomer to achieve that 1st time out. None of them look upto that level yet on breeding and those with form already are way short of that level. Barry Hills has won with 4 of his last 5 Maiden runners this week and this can be another. (Nap) 320 Chepstow: NANTYGLO holds a vast array of high profile entries for later in the season including the Group 1 races The Meon Valley & The Cheveley Park. This daughter of the classy Mark of Esteem learned plenty on its gentle introduction when it bolted up on its 2nd start over Windsors 6f. The 3rd Jeanmarie & 14th Asawir both won nto. The time was good for the conditions and it was visually very pleasing to the eye as it left its rivals for dead. its only been given a rating of 83 for that. Mr Sandicliffe who is still a Maiden is rated higher @ 84 and there will be some very long faces in The Bell yard if this horse cant take this in style. Bell & Murtagh who team up here have a 2/6 (33%) strike rate together. After this race that should be a little higher. (Nb) 340 Haydock: SPECTAIT Prescott made a late start to the season but Hes making hey right now and looks to have found another solid opening for this horse. Its racked up a treble and there looks plenty left to work with. Today will be a bit harder with a 3lb weights rise and a 6lb penalty for its last win but despite that its still on a handy mark of just 84 for Todays race. Prescott doesnt just send runners to Haydock for the sake of it having a good record of 11/39 (28%) here. Its his record with 3 year olds like Todays selection Spectait that stands out. 6 wins from 11 runners (55%). The step up to 10f shouldnt inconvenience this 9 & 11f winner just as long Jimmy Quinn who rides Today doesnt commit to soon. Oblique kept the Prescott stables recent high strike rate up Yesterday and Spectait should be good enough here to keep the run going. (Win) 555 Brighton: DORINGO has run 4 decent races here over this unique cd resulting in finishing positions of 2,2,4 & a unlucky 5th lto. Its only been beaten a combined 4ls in all 4 of them races. The unlucky 5th came just 2 days back when 5th to Edge Fund where it was hampered when about to mount its challenge at the furlong pole. It ran on well when it recovered from that to be beaten only a length. That was a good run from a poor draw in 13 and the draws definately been kinder Today with it coming from stall 7. Mark Savage is a decent jockey in the Apprentice race and with a tiny bit of luck in running it can finally get its head in front where it counts. 13th time lucky Im hoping and against abysmal opposition it will be disappointing if its still a Maiden after this race is run. (Win) 645 Folkestone: DANGER ZONE ran on well to take 2nd from a poor position in running behind the very well handicapped Spectait (won twice since & hopefully 3 times) lto and in a race where it holds all the aces it should get back to winning ways here. Its had 2 runs over this cd resulting in a slightly unlucky 3rd and a cosy win on its penultimate start. The handicappers been a bit kind dropping it 1lb which if He knew what Spectait was about to do I doubt that He would have. Danger Zone who has come out of stall 2 on both its starts here uncannily gets that stall again which is a huge bonus because it again means its very well drawn. Danger Zone is a solid bet here to defy top weight and give a beating to some rather limited opponents. (Win) All the best Tankyman

Re: Tankys Tips After an abysmal selection of donkeys this afternoon Ive had My head back in the form books and hope to right a few wrongs tonight. Small bets... 555 Brighton: 17:55 Brighton DORINGO @ 4 from >Bet365 has run 4 decent races here over this unique cd resulting in finishing positions of 2,2,4 & a unlucky 5th lto. Its only been beaten a combined 4ls in all 4 of them races. The unlucky 5th came just 2 days back when 5th to Edge Fund where it was hampered when about to mount its challenge at the furlong pole. (Win) 645 Folkestone: 18:45 Folkestone DANGER ZONE @ 3 from >VC Bet Bet ran on well to take 2nd from a poor position in running behind the very well handicapped Spectait (won twice since & hopefully 3 times) lto and in a race where it holds all the aces it should get back to winning ways here. Its had 2 runs over this cd resulting in a slightly unlucky 3rd and a cosy win on its penultimate start. (Win) 725 Brighton: 19:25 Brighton CLOONAVERY @ 3.5 from >Sporting Odds needed its seasonnal bow but has come along well for it according to gallop reports. With that in mind its strange that Osbourne drops it into a Claimer. With 8lbs in hand on official ratings and with the paint scraper Eddie Ahern in the saddle it should win here and get a confidence boost at the same time. (Win) 825 Brighton: 20:25 Brighton REGAL DREAM @ 4.34 from >Coral has produced all its best form round tight courses like Bath, Epsom & thankfully Brighton. Form figs on them 3 tracks reads 3,3,1,1 far better than on galloping tracks. Another horse that gets Ahern in the saddle. He is 1/2 on it including 1/1 round here. (Win) Lets hope that they do a dam site better than those earlier. All the best Tankyman

Re: Tankys Tips Yesterday was grim fare with just a 10/3 winner reducing the outlay. Today Im on a recovery mission..... 140 Lingfield: MY IMMORTAL is improving with racing and can finally make its mark Today. On its debut it finished 7ls behind Clueless but on its 3rd and final start that gap was down to 3ls. Its interesting that now it has a handicap mark Gosden has chosen this Maiden as its target from a choice of 3 declarations. Gosdens team are coming into form (5/24 last fortnight 20%). Teamed up with Jimmy Fortune they have a 22% strike rate this year. Gosden is also 2/6 (33%) here this year. In a poor Maiden it will be disappointing if it cant get its head in front. (Win) 400 Sedgefield: LAHIB THE FIFTH is 2/2 in its career so far. It started with an easy nhf victory before making its debut over hurdles and beating a fair yardstick in the shape of the 105 rated Summer Special of level weights. Lahib admittedly didnt win as well as expected but its jumping improved as it went on, it travelled well enough and it showed battling qualities to come home first. It will have come on plenty for that effort and with these rivals rated 99 at best Lahib can maintain its winning run. (Nb) 430 Sedgefield: NOW THEN SID is a 102 rated hurdler who has been slow to get to grips with chasing which had seen its chase rating drop to just 75 before the penny dropped and it beat Swallow Magic by 7ls over this cd lto. The rest of the field were 30ls and more further behind. It carries a 7lb higher mark Today but 82 still looks lenient now that things have clicked. Swallow Magic, Taleban & York Rite all reoppose on better terms Today but Sids capable of better where as they seem to have no secrets. P.Buchanan is 1/1 on the horse and can keep that perfect record going Today. (Win) 500 Sedgefield: BEAUGENCY has won its last 3 starts easily (1 chase & 2 hurdles) and against basically awful opposition theres absolutely no reason that it shouldnt complete the 4 timer with the minimum of fuss. Its a cd winner here on its only start at this track and is the only progressive horse in this field. Larry McGrath takes over in the saddle and He is as good a 3lb Claimer as Ive seen in a long time. No excuses a clear round and I cant see any dangers Today. (Nap) 510 Lingfield: SERRAMANNA won Yesterday and can complete a quick double despite the 6lb penalty. It only got up in the last strides to beat daydream Dancer Yesterday but was ridden for the distance (12f) and those 2 pulled well clear of the rest. Less than a year ago this horse was with Henry Cecil and rated 76 but after a ill fated move to The Bridger yard its been moved to Dr Naylor and the good Dr has sweetened it up again. Naylor tested the water by running it from out the handicap when 3rd @ 66/1 behind Maystock. It was then in hindsight very well weighted Yesterday when it won of just 41 bearing in mind that fact. Today it runs of 47 including its penalty. Its dropped back to 10f but will be ridden closer to the pace. Arthur Daly is again in the saddle and the dodgy dealer can steer it home for the second time in 24 hours. (Win) All the best Tankyman
