Re: Tankys Tips The last couple of days have been difficult to say the least but Im hoping that Ive had all the bad rides, bad luck and bad judgement on my own behalf and can put it behind Me. A winner & a Nr Yesterday meant a few pennies back but not enough not to be out of pocket. 135 Windsor: BUREAUCRAT could imo easily turn out to be Group class and with improvement almost guarenteed for todays step up in trip to 12f its going to take the world of beating here. Its 1st 3 starts are best ignored because it imo was campaigned over inadequate trips and on unsuitable going. When stepped up to a more suitable trip that its bred for it was punted as if defeat was out the question and it never had to come out of a hack canter to beat South of the Border (Won nto). 3rd there Nanton won its next 2 starts & 4th home Spanish Ridge also won nto to make the form look rock solid. Lto it gave a decent field of 8 a stone and more and still beat them with consumate ease. Its been raised 8lb for that but is still only rated 92. Its already produced one effort that must have been around the 100 mark so I believe it can defy that easily. Rodney Havlin who rode it to victory lto is again in the saddle for the back to form John Gosden stable who have had 7 winners in the last week including 2/2 Yesterday. Im looking forward to seeing this horse fulil its unlimited potential here. (Nb) 215 Haydock: DAVID JUNIOR why connections decided to run this horse over an inadequate trip and on unsuitable going in last weeks Group 1 Sussex Stakes is totally beyond Me as there would be many alternative oppertunities in the future. Today the connections step it back upto 10f the trip its 2 from 2 over by a combined total of 13ls from some decent opponents. In Todays race it looks the class act and it can add this Group 3 race to its 2 Listed race wins. (Win) 235 Windsor: GIMASHA needs to defy a 10lb hike in the handicap after 2 excellent winning performances. Firstly it beat Hewaraat by 7ls. That horse has won since has as the 4th Montilla. It then easily brushed aside a decent sort in Princely Vale by 5ls in a time 0.76 seconds faster than standard. The 3rd there Cree won nto. So both wins have been well supported. Willie Jarvis has had a slow year but with 3 of his last 10 runners winning and the others running well theres signs of a purple patch about to happen. Light weight job jockey Simon Whitworth has a rare ride for Jarvis here. There record together is 2/14 (14%). This should bump it up. (Win) 240 Redcar: COURT OF APPEAL has an excellent record in Claiming races this year (5,1,3,2,1,1) and comes here in search of a quickfire treble in races of this sort. On official ratings its one of only 2 horses in this race with a chance the other being King Flyer. King Flyer has been of the course for 200 days and hasnt won a race on grass for 14 races dating back to July 2003. That makes it easy to cross of the list. It also needs a stiff 2 miles and the 14f trip here will be on the sharp side for it.The rest are rated some 16lb and more inferior on the official ratings. Court of Appeal wont mind the step back upto 14f a distance its won over in the past. Tom Eaves who rode it to win lto and is 4/9 on the horse (44%) is again in the saddle. The tongue strap is again on but the cheek pieces are replaced by the 1st time visor. Solid looking selection that might go of a much bigger proce than expected. (Win) 250 Newmarket: CONFIDENTIAL LADY is worth following still after completing a hat-trick of wins on its last start. Each target its been set its taken in its stride. It hacked up in its Maiden, then a Novice Stakes & lastly it easily landed a Listed race. Nasheej 2ls behind there and Rising Cross 3ls behind both reoppose Today but on 2lb worse terms they should struggle to reverse the placings. Prescott as I have said a few times of late has his team firing and at a course he does well at (8/34, 23%, +£12) she can land another big race here. Blessed with plenty of natural speed and the heart of a lion Confidential Lady can go on and achieve some of the success that her sire Singspiel achieved. (Win) 335 Windsor: ALL THAT AND MORE is 2/2 in its career so far and came back from a big set back to prove that its lost none of its class and promise. Its been given plenty of time to recover and the patience connections have shown is now being rewarded. Its raised 7lb for easily putting Golden Fury in its place with the minimum of fuss but as it still ran green there and was visually very impressive I think it can easily defy that. This son of Unfawain will love the extra furlong it gets today and with Richard Quinn in the saddle it can put the older horses to shame. (Win) 430 Newmarket: BALANCE OF POWER was only narrowly beaten by Clueless (rated 82) on its debut and was over 3ls ahead of Yesterdays winner My Immortal (rated 80). It looked a ready made winner in waiting there. If you give it a rating for that run then 81 would be a fair bit lower than what the handicapper would give it and that rating is well above anything shown by any of its rivals so far. Roger Charltons horses are showing a decent level of form of late and he has won with 4 of the last 14 horses he has sent out (28%). This horse will carry My big bet of the day and it will be a bad day if it gets beaten. Solid. (Nap) All the best Tankyman

Re: Tankys Tips Nap won @ 4/6 plus 8/1 & 6/4 winners. 2 seconds and a 3rd with the others plus one stinker. 730 Ayr: ONLYTIME WILL TELL last time it ran in a Claimer it hacked up with Robert Winston in the saddle. Winston gets back on board for the first time since then. 15lb in hand on the official ratings. Ignore its last run in a much harder race than this and it needed the run. (WIN) 750 Lingfield: PORTMEIRION beat Labelled With Love easily enough lto and should be able to follow up here. Only raised 4lb for that cd win and with conditions perfect again tonight will be a big player. (Win) 820 Lingfield: LABELLED WITH LOVE read above. Acted well on the soft there. Amir Quinn takes of 3lb and is good value for that. (Win) Portmeirion & Labelled With Love should make a tasty each way double

Re: Tankys Tips 3 winners Yesterday with the Nap @ 4/6 plus 8/1 & 6/4. A 7/2 winner at night completed a winning day but still frustrating. 345 Curragh: GEORGE WASHINGTON is 2/2 over this cd and can complete the treble Today. Very highly rated in The OBrien yard it did well to beat stablemate Amigoni in a race that wasnt run to suit and turned into a sprint. Amigini & the 3rd home there namaya who reopposses under the same terms Today have both won since to boost the form. OBrien has big hopes for this one as bore out by its big race entries in the group 2 races The Gimcrack, Royal Lodge & Champagne Stakes for later in the year. It also holds a Group 1 entry in the Middle Park. Amadeus Mozart is also entered by OBrien to ensure that they get taken along at a good pace. OBrien loves winning this race which he did for 6 straight years till Oratorio could only manage 2nd last year. With Fallon who was on fire Yesterday in the saddle Today there should be no excuses. Already one of the favourites for next years 2000 Guineas watch its price tumble if it shows what OBrien thinks its capable of. With its rivals form not amounting to a great deal I think Georgie Boy looks a rock solid bet. (Nap) 350 Leicester: PAPER TALK has been a model of consistency all year and can follow up its win lto @ Newmarkets July course despite being raised 3lb for that effort. The 5th Bolodenka & 6th My Princess have both won since to boost the form. The drop back in trip doesnt worry me because it has winning form over Todays 7f. Kerrin McEvoy replaces Michael Hills having only his 2nd ride for Barry Hills so its a rare booking. McEvoy does ride the course well though having a 5/17 (29%) record here. (Win) 410 Redcar: ALGHARB loves the fast ground and unless the heavens open it will get that here. 3 runs on gf have resulted in form figs of 2,1,1. It looked impressive lto when beating a decent sort in Bird Over. It quickened well there and its profile still looks progressive. Its been raised 7lbs for that but I think thats well within its scope. Trainer Willie haggis has been back amongst the winners of late and when teamed up with Willie Supple this year they have a 50% strike rate (3/6). (Win) 450 Leicester: INCHLOCH is a lightly raced 3 year old having only its 4th career start Today. After 2 decent placed efforts over an inadequate 8f trip it was put over 10f a trip that its bred to show its best colours over. The step up saw it visit the winners enclosure when it beat Colloquial here over cd despite not looking completely happy on the ground. The softer ground Today will be much more to its liking. Fanshawe describes this horse as still backwards and still needing to fill out but with bags of potential It makes its handicap debut Today of a very fare mark of 79. Lots of plus stats, Fanshawe is 18/65, 27%, +£35 here over the last 5 years. Hes doing even better this year with 5/12 (41%). Spencer does well when riding for Fanshawe with 28/84 (28%), that levels also better this year with 3/8 (37%). A big run expected. (Nb) 500 Lingfield: VAGUE STAR rain softened ground and the 1st time blinkers did the trick for this horse lto when it came home over a length ahead of Chilly Cracker over Doncasters 5f course. The blinkers are left on Today and from stall 1 its well drawn to make a bold bid for glory here. Will be prominent and even lead if nothing else is keen and with Todays conditions perfect for it but a big worry for its major rivals it looks the stand out pick to me in this race. Havlin is 1/1 for Roger Ingram this year after winning on this one lto. (Win) All the best Tankyman

Re: Tankys Tips Winning Nap Yesterday but the rest were rubbish. Im hopeful of much better Today. 230 Wolverhampton: CAVEWARRIOR has had no luck on its 2 starts so far so it was a very good showing lto when it finished 2nd beaten just over 1l by Shogun Prince. It had to take the wide route there travelling a good few lengths of the rails and the extra distance it travelled there could have cost it victory. Shogun Prince has since run very well in a decent handicap of a mark of 81. A mark of 77 would be reasonable assesment for that run and that would easily be good enough here if repeated. Jeremy Noseda has a 43% strike rate on the all weather this year and is 2/2, 100% in sprints. Shane Kelly is a positive booking and together they have a 15/51, 29% record over the last 5 years. Its 3/6, 50% this year. It can shed its Maiden tag here at the 3rd time of asking now it finally gets a decent draw. (Win) 245 Southwell: ITS DEFINATE was in control for the entire last mile when beating its well regarded stablemate Snoopy Loopy over almost 24f @ Worcester and with conditions again to its likening it can go on to record a quick double despite having to give 6lb all round. Richard Johnson is again in the saddle on the Peter Bowen charge and they have an excellent record together over the last 5 years of, 28/80, 35%, +£45. Its just as good this year with 8/22, 36%. There record with chasers like Its Definate is even more impressive with 17/39, 43%. Will its win well lets hope Its Definate because its one of my strongest selections today. (Nb) 300 Wolverhampton: OUTLOOK is 2/3 round Dunstall Park having won its last 2. It won its Maiden by an easy 3ls before dropping back to 6f to win a decent handicap. The step back in trip to 7f will compensate for its 7lb rise in the weights and will be much more suitable as the 6 looked a bit sharp for it despite the fact it won. Well drawn in 4 Seb Sanders can soon have it handily placed and it will take some catching up the home straight. Sanders & Prescott have a 7/18, 38% strike rate on the all weather this year this should keep that excellent record going. (Win) 630 Thirsk: JUST OBSERVING has the look of a winner in waiting to Me and should be up to taking this with the minimum of fuss. It chased home a decent sort in Flor Y Nata (Winner since) before an unlucky in running 2nd less than a length behind a decent sort in Under My Thumb. That horse has won twice more since of marks of 79 & 85. That level of form is a good stone better than anything its rivals here have produced so far and the newcomers look nothing special on breeding. Its surely going to take the world of beating here for Ed Dunlop who has a decent record here at Thirsk with 5/15, 33% over the last 5 years. Solid. (Nap) 650 Windsor: GOLDEN FURY only found 1 horse too good lto but that horse was a tartar and could prove Listed class at least in All That And More trying to give that horse 4lbs. That was almost an impossible task in hindsight. The fact that All That And More then won just as easily of a 7lb higher mark proves that point. My Princess who was 2ls behind Golden Fury has since won its next race of the same mark. Seb Sanders is in the saddle today and gets on well with this horse. In his 3 rides he has form figures of 2,1 & 2. Golden Fury runs of the same mark as that decent 2nd and with plenty of pace in the race whould get the race run to suit. Dunlop & Sanders also have a decent record together of 25/154, 16% with a lsp of over £30. (Win) All the best Tankyman

Re: Tankys Tips If it had started at 3:00 WFTE it might have won lol..... 200 Newton Abbot: MANTRAS is turned out quickly after running a gallant race behind the well weighted Paul Nicholls favourite Silence Reigns and can go one better here. Dropping it into a Seller is one of Pipes tricks to get a horses confidence back and with a confidence boost this horse could notch a few races throughout the summer jumps season. Its finally starting to show why Pipe brought it over from France and how it won 3 from 5 starts over there. The pick of the weights here to Me. (Win) 215 Bath: BATHWICK EMMA the level of Bathwick Emmas last race is a good stone better than anything its rivals have achieved on the track so far. Theres no doubt that one or two of them are capable of better but to improve that much is expecting a lot and hard to accept. Bathwick Emma only went down by a small margin to Charlton & Nantyglo and there looks nothing of that quality lurking here. David Evans & Jamie Spencer do well together (5/16, 31% this year with the 2 year olds) Spencer also rides Bath well with 2/7, 28% this year. (Nap) 300 Newton Abbot: LONESOME MAN has had just 4 chase starts and after a slow start is starting to fulfil the potential that was expected from it. 2 runs to get its barings have been followed by 2 good victorys @ Stratford & Aintree. On first looks it seems the handicappers been harsh on it for the last of those 2 wins by putting it up 13lbs but basically that just puts it at the level it was rated over hurdles at the start of the season and its old trainer Richard Phillips always said it would make a much better chaser than hurdler. After winning @ Stratford it was move to permit holder Tim Vaughans yard. Vaughan only has 2 horses in training at the moment but this one won first time out for him. Richard Johnson is 2/3 on this horse and keeps the ride Today. (Win) 345 Bath: ATACAMA STAR enjoyed the rock hard ground at Brighton lto when making all to win over 10f. Benny Powell said afterwards that the horse had been crying out for a step up in trip and that He thinks it will be even better over 12f. Todays extended 11f looks ideal. New tactics were employed successfully there of making the running. I hope those tactics are employed again Today because it could get an easy lead here. Richard Quinn rides Bath well with 4/13, 30% & £19 lsp. This can be another winner. (Win) 430 Newton Abbot: FU FIGHTER with Jonjos horses still under a cloud this race looks at the mercy of Fu Fighter. Evan Williams charge is improving fast and can defy another 11lb hike in the weights for easily brushing aside Vivante without coming of the bridle. Vivante endorsed that form by only going down by a head to a decent yardstick in Marathea on its next start of a 1lb higher mark. Evan Williams has improved this horse everytime its run since it was claimed out of Chris Pophams yard and I dont think Hes got to the bottom of it yet. (Nb) 445 Bath: ZIMBALI can reverse the form with Heidis Dash here despite being 1lb worse of at the weights. Last time Heidi got the lucky draw but Today Zimbali gets the plum draw in stall 1. Fran Ferris has a rare ride for Milton Bradley here (1/4 together this year) and if he bounces it out and gets the rail it could all be over after 100 yards. (Win) All the best Tankyman

Re: Tankys Tips Abysmal Yesterday. No excuses pathetic selections. Hoping for much better as long Today and should manage that as long the Albatross doesnt copy my selections. 240 Beverley: LIGHTENING AFFAIR only went down by a neck on its debut run behind the odds on Ed Dunlop runner High Command, there were 5ls and more back to the rest of the field. Mark Johnsons horses usually improve for a run but a repeat of that would be enough here. Johnson had this horse declared in 4 different Maidens over the next 3 days and this looks the easiest target. With his horses coming into form after winning with 4 of his last 7 runners everything looks in place for a big run here. (Nb) 330 Salisbury: PERCYS PEARL did well to win on its debut and repay the patience that connections have shown it. It beat Perfect Blend (Winner since) with a big gap back to the rest. Very well bred by Rainbow Quest this huge horse neevr saw the course as a 2 year old because it just hadnt got the strength to go with its build. It was worth waiting for because it showed qualities to quicken of a slow pace and it will have learned plenty there. It takes this race in instead of a Group 3 race here Tomorrow or a race @ Newbury on Saturday. That can be a wise decision as it continues its education. Elsworth does well here (15%, +£57), Its even better this year with 5/22, 22% strike rate. Egan has a 22% strike rate here too this year and off a fair mark of 79 it can make a winning handicap bow. (Win) 410 Beverley: OBLIQUE has 9 entries pencilled in over the next few days and this is the one chose for now from all them and the 3 it held Today. This Giants Causeway filly improved for the step up in trip from 7 to 9f lto when powering away from a field @ Newcastle. The extra furlong Today can only play further to its strength. Prescott has a good record here with 8/28, 28% and is 1/1 this year. This can keep that record in tact. (Nap) 600 Hamilton: MYSTIC MAN hacked up by 5ls in a similar Claimer @ Ayr just 4 days back and should follow up with the minimum of fuss. The only one that challenges it on the official ratings is Sawwah but that ones taking more backwards steps than a drunk on his way back from the pub. Andrew Mullen takes the ride Today and is usually great value for his 5lb claim, provided he doesnt throw away his whip like he did on Mr Wolf the other day. Mystic man has looked a racehorse reborn since being dropped into Claimers. Its record in 4 claimers is, 2nd behind The Prince before winning, then 4th where it never acted over the Epsom course and finally an easy winner lto. Theres many more wins to come at this level. (Win) 835 Hamilton: ANNIBALE CARO is another from the Prescott stable that holds mass entries 8 in all over the next 4 days and after defying the penalty with a 12l victory @ Ayr it can win again from the same mark. Prescott will probably turn this one out again after this race because its due a big rise in the weights for its improved form. If it doesnt win Today what chance does it have of a higher mark. A penalty kick but hopefully this one will make up a 5 timer. Famous last words, (Win) All the best Tankyman (Watch out for that Albertross)

Re: Tankys Tips This weeks getting no easier. A winning nap at last Yesterday but nothing else. 220 Sandown: BOWNESS was on a bit of a roll after winning a couple of races in the style of an improving sort. A few things conspired against it last time out, the rain softened ground, a slow start and the fact that the race may have come to quick for it after its previous win, it still ran very well to only finish 1l behind Vague Star. Trainer James Givens given it best part of a fortnight to freshen it back up and that should work the oracle and it can get back to winning ways in a average looking field. (Win) 305 Salisbury: COUNCELLOR was unlucky not to finally shed its Maiden lto where it got stuck in a pocket and Richard Hughes left the barging out tactic one stride to late. It finished with a rattle there. The step back upto 7f should be perfect and hopefully Richard Hughes will be more tactically aware with his positioning. This horse travels well through its races and despite being a Maiden after 9 starts I wouldnt say its ungenuine just been unlucky. Todays the day to fix that run of placed efforts. (Win) 350 Beverley: UNIQUE MOMENT has improved for each run this year culminating in a cosy Maiden win lto from Renderoc, that horse itself won nto. Unique Moment makes its handicap debut here but with more improvement to come and with the Johnson yard in form it can give weight and a beating all round. (Nb) 415 Salisbury: LAYMAN has been saved by Godolphin for an Autumn campaign so its absence is nothing to be worried about. Godolphin can get a horse ready first time up so thats not a problem either. Despite this race being a Group 3 its seen as a warm up for much bigger targets. Its a possible for The Juddmonte but if things go well its main target is the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes, both races are Group Ones. Last season it recorded a couple of cosy wins before finishing a close 2nd behind French superhorse Divine Proportions. That was followed by a head 3rd in a Group 1 behind this years Eclipse winner Oratorio. Godolphin are a bit of an enigma this year but signs of a revival are good with the winners starting to come more regularly. Another double Yesterday franked that point. With good gallop reports Layman can come here and show its class. (Nap) All the best Tankyman

Re: Tankys Tips Nice priced NAP there Tanky, surely softens the blows of a tough few days. Hope you got it at SP and not its morning price of 11/4! 9/2 at race time was a bit annoying so I put a bit more on it at this price. Keep them coming Tankyman!

Re: Tankys Tips Thanks Johnny for the support. Its been a tough few days but we must be due a good one soon. In my multiples I got the crap price but on my singles got sp plus also a bit of 6.2 on Betfair. This weeks struggles continue. The Nap won at a tasty 9/2 but 2 close seconds one a poor ride on Bowness made the day a bit less enjoyable. 315 Newbury: EMIRATES SKYLINE was an impressive winner over Doncasters 7f easily beaiting Global Genius who had previously run 2nd in The Chesham (Listed Race). The rest of that field were spread out like a long line of washing. It always travelled well and the style with which it quickened of a slowish pace was visually very impressive. It should have come on for that experience too so its possible that its capable of much better. This well bred sort is a half brother to St Leger winner Mutafaweq and has a big future. Its long range target like a few Godolphin runners is The 2006 Derby, if it wins as well here as I expect it too it could easily be vying for favouritism for that race. With the Godolphin revival underway (4 wins from there last 6 runners) this could be another for the back to form boys in blue. Godolphin have a 28% strike rate over the last 5 years @ Newbury and when teamed up with McEvoy they have a 22% strike rate this year and a lsp of over £33. (Nap) 325 Folkestone: MY GIRL PEARL was well punted in from 14s to 7/1 before landing the gamble with the minimum of fuss by 3ls from Encora Bay. Because it was running from 2lb out the handicap there it only has in effect a 4lb penalty today. Franny Norton who did the steering there again rides and with a high draw here being a big plus it can sit handy before striking for home around the 2 pole. This course doesnt suit all horses but Pearl has run well finishing 3rd on its 2 previous starts here. Today should be 3rd time lucky here. (Win) 350 Newbury: MOSTAQELEH looked a winner in waiting when 3rd behind a couple of experienced runners led home by Mick Channons Silcas Sister over this cd. The forms been endorsed with the 4th Violet Ballerina, 5th Strut & 6th Saabiq all winning on there next start. It ran on well towards the end there and looked like it learned plenty in the final 2 furlongs. Its half sister Muqbil was 3/3 here so the breeding is suited to this course. There should be no excuses here if it just improves a little for that run. (Win) 420 Newbury: SPECIAL LAD enjoyed the drop back in trip from 10f to 7f lto when making all to come home an easy winner from the inform and decent yardstick in Danger Zone. It runs here under just a 6lb penalty but with Nelson De Souza great value for his 3lb claim it can follow up especially now theyve found its right trip. (Nb) 520 Tramore: TINGSHAW RING after a summer on the flat this horse has looked a rejuvenated hurdler. On its 1st hurdle start since January it hacked up over 20f @ Ballinrobe. It followed that up by winning over an inadequate 16f last night. That win was under a fixed 6lb penalty and tonight it will be under a fixed 12lb penalty. Having said that Im not worried because if connections decide to run it then I think that speaks for itself. With conditions perfect and back over its best trip of 20f. I expect this one to win if it runs. If I knew for sure it would be my nap but I cant be sure. Due a huge rise in the weights when reassessed it should run if ok and could also turn out again Tomorrow at Tramore or more likely at Rosscommon on Monday. (Win) All the best Tankyman

Re: Tankys Tips Hopefully the end of a hard week. A couple of winners Yesterday @ 3/1 & 13/8 for a small but much needed profit. 210 Newbury: STRUT came 5th in one of the hottest 2 year old races of the year that has produced many winners. The winner of that race Silca's Sister hasnt run again yet but the 3rd Mostaqeleh hacked up Yesterday, 4th Violet Ballerina, 5th this one Strut & 6th Saabiq have all won there subsequent start. Connections had this race mapped out before that win and the performance it put up there convinced them to go through with it. Roger Charlton said it wont win any beauty prizes but has a great engine. Unexposed but with plenty of natural speed this horse can take the step up in class here in its stride. Charlton & Drowne have a 25% strike rate this year with 18/72 and this can be another for the combination. (Win) 215 Ripon: FIGJAM is 14lb better of in this race than it would be in a Nursery and I expect connections to exploit that fact here. John Bests team have been going well of late and he recorded a well timed double yesterday to show that his horses are in form. Martin Dwyer doesnt ride often for Best so the booking is eyecatching to say the least. (Nb) 225 Bangor: FAIR ALONG had a lot of these rivals today (Milquista D'or, Sharp N Frosty, First Fought & Tiffin Brown) a distance and more behind it when cruising home here over todays cd. They all reoppose on 7lb better terms but to ask them to turn that round is a big ask. Fair Along has as much chance of improving as the rest of them and will take some stopping here. (Win) 325 Newbury: MAMOOL on a line through Dubai Success there shouldnt be too much between this one and Gamut. When Mamool beat it though it was its first start for over 8 months and Gamut has also disappointed since. Godolphin are hitting the target with plenty of winners now and had another double Yesterday. Mamool can keep that good run going here and further improve the 24% strike race that McEvoy & Godolphin share. (Win) 535 Market Rasen: GREEN PROSPECT is easily the pick of the weights here with a stone and upwards in hand over its nearest rival on official ratings Forbearing and the rest. 2 wins & 2 places from 6 starts all in better class than this show its no back number. Lto it ran a decent 4th over 20f a trip a bit further than it wants for now so the drop back to the extended 17f today should be perfect, especially when you consider its wins were over 17 & 18f. Today it drops from a good Class D Handicap into a very poor Class G Seller. To Me if it jumps round clear its a matter of naming the distance. Martin Pipe excels at picking up races like this to give some decent horses a confidence boost before going onto better things. (NAP) All the best Tankyman

Re: Tankys Tips 3 from 5 Yesterday and just done on the line for a 4th. Hopefully the bad spells over but with the weather changing again there could be further strange results. 230 Bath CARMENERO had decent form in Maidens before struggling slightly in handicap company of its highish mark of 83. It will find the drop into this Maiden Auction Stakes a lot easier. Lto it ran very creditable when finishing only 3ls behind Saxon Saint (won again yesterday of a 4lb higher mark). trying to concede that horse 20lbs (23lbs including Hayley Turners claim). That forms good enough to win this well as is its excellent 4th only 2ls behind the classy Sir Percy (won a Group 2 since). 5f is Carmeneros optimum trip, ground conditions are perfect & its well drawn in stall 2. Willie Muirs done well with his runners here this year with 2/8, 25%. Muir & Dwyer do well when combined 7/43, 16%, +£88.50. Racing Post go 9/4. Thats a tempting price to Me. Id rate it more an 11/8 chance. (Nap) 300 Bath SILENT JO was 8ls ahead of one of Todays main rivals Mina A Salem so looks to have the measure of that one under the same conditions. That leaves Grey Plover as the only serious rival. Its 4th 1l behind Aunt Julie warrants respect but as good as that was it was only judged to have been rated 75. Silent Jo admittedly isnt one to trust, its mark has dropped from 90 to 82 so theoretically its still 7lb better than Grey Plovers best ever run. Although it was disappointing that it wouldnt pass My Immortal that wasnt a bad run and those 2 finished 18ls ahead of the 3rd home. Godolphin dont send many here with just 5 runners spread over the last 5 years. They have had 2 winners though so 40% strike rate isnt bad. Eddie Ahern is a rare jockey booking for the boys in blue. Racing Post go 1/1. Hopefully it will be a bit bigger. (Win) 240 Pontefract: DOUBLE DEPUTY makes its reappearance after 296 days of the course but won well 1st time out at 3 and can repeat that here now a 4 year old. I cant see Godolphin keeping this 4 year old in training unless they thought it had plenty of improvement in it and that is bore out by the fact that they said that they thought it would be a top class handicapper this year and could easily become Listed and even Group class. Having said that it will be a kick in the teeth to them if it cant take this handicap of a mark of just 84. That could look a lenient mark for this Sadlers Wells colt. The fact that its already won on contrasting types of grounds means that any change in going wouldnt be a worry. Godolphins runners here are rare, just 5 over the last 5 years but 3 have won (60%). This year they have had 2/3, 66%. Jamie Spencer is riding at the top of his game at the moment and has a 21% strike rate here after 57 rides. When teamed up with Godolphin they have a 13/51, 25% record. (Nb) 320 Stratford: ABSOLUT POWER appreciated the step up in trip lto and would have beaten the inform Charlies Double but for a costly poor jump at the last over this cd in a race run at a good gallop. That was no mean run trying to give that horse who completed the 3 timer there 13lbs. Its only rated 1lb lower on official ratings behind the frustrating favourite Romany Prince (beaten favourite in 3 of its last 5 races) but gets 7lb from that horse under todays conditions. To me thats more than enough to swing things in Absolut Powers favour. (Win) 350 Stratford: EAST TYCOON is lightly raced due to a few setbacks but is reported to be showing plenty at home and it can start making up for lost time. A decent hurdler rated in the mid 120s it made a winning start to its chase career last August when easily winning from Saspys Lad. Master T who was well beaten in 4th there has won a couple since the last of a mark of 105. Colliers Court who was beaten when it fell in that race has won 4 races since the last of 115. The experience that East Tycoon got there will be invaluable here. It jumped well bar a small mistake at the water and looks a natural over the bigger obstacles. Its won round this course before albeit in a hurdle so it will have fond memories of the course. This is the class act and it could easily be a few levels above todays rivals. Tony McCoy rides and this can be another winner for the champ. (Win) All the best Tankyman

Re: Tankys Tips Hi Tankyman, just to say thanks for yesterday- followed all except for mamool and put the 4 into a 0.5pt yankee. The 3 out of the 4 is paying 18pts. It should also be mentioned that FIGJAM-2nd to Campbelltown lost by a short head-on the nod in fact. 6 inches away from a 85pt return which would've been a 34-1 (I think) accumulator. Thanks again :notworthy :clap

Re: Tankys Tips Going in the right direction with 3 more winners Yesterday, 2/1 (from 3/1) the nap, 9/4 & 8/11. The other 2 ran ok finishing close up in 2nd & 3rd. Fingers crossed for Today. 315 Nottingham: MYSTICAL LAND is 10lb clear on official ratings and despite a lengthy absence of 331 day can record another win for the in form John Gosden stable that has sent out a massive 16 winners over the last fortnight. Gosden & todays jockey Jimmy Fortune have enjoyed a purple patch together this month with 9 winners from 21 efforts together, 43%. Mystical Lands best effort was its last one in Group 2 company when it encountered similar conditions to what it will get today. The drop in class to a conditions stakes should be perfect for it to make a winning comeback. (Nap) 330 Brighton: CAYMAN BREEZE loves it round this unique course. 4 starts here have produced form figures of 2,3,1 & 1. That last win was in handicap company so its interesting that its dropped into an average looking claiming stakes. Well drawn in stall 2 it can be another winner for the Ryan Moore & Milton Bradley combination who do well together, 13%, +£29. (Win) 415 Nottingham: TANGIBLE was campaigned over inadequate trips of 7,8 & 9f as a 2 year old so was feasibly well handicapped when making its reappearance over the much more suitable 14f @ Sandown. It won there despite trainer Prescott saying it was very rusty and needed the outing. A full book of future entries made me take that some what with a pinch of salt. Tangible showed great stamina and endurance there and without a doubt despite a 6lb penalty for that win could still be a few steps ahead of the handicapper. This race is one of 6 it was entered for so far this week, 2 are Maidens its no longer entitled to run in but dont be surprised to see it take up at least one more of those entries later in the week for its canny trainer. This Hernando filly wont mind the softer ground and could even improve more for it. Looks another winner for the inform partnership of Seb Sanders & Mark Prescott to Me. (Nb) 500 Brighton: MYTHICAL CHARM has come to form in style over the last few weeks and can continue its hot run before the handicapper gets its measure. The hat-trick looks on despite the 6lb penalty when you think how easily it hacked up lto. Its win coincided with an upturn in form for its trainer J.Bridger who had gone almost 3 months without a winner before it won but has now won 4 from his last 9 runners. Mythical Charm has yet to win round Brighton but its 3 starts here including its head 2nd behind Bracklinn lto prove that this unique track holds no fears to it. 8f at the moment looks its optimum trip, it gets that here, ground conditions are perfect and its in rude health. A big player here Today. (Win) 740 Windsor: MACABRE Godolphins form is peaking now with 9 of there last 21 runners (43%) finding the winners circle. Theres not a lot wrong with its form, 2nd behind the very talented David Junior and 2nd also behind a French raider called Arabian Spell who looked fitter than the butchers dog. Macabre hadnt raced for 10 months before that race so maybe needed it more than first thoughts suggested. The fact it went from cruising to under pressure in a few strides. Regardless of that both them runs have been given provisional ratings of 80 a good 10lb and more better than anything else has shown in this field. The 1st time visor and the slightly better ground will help this Machiavellian colt who cost 280,000 Gns. Itll never win that much prize money but should get some winning type starting Today. (Win) 810 WIndsor: ATACAMA STAR was 3rd lto in a very fast run race (2.59sec faster than standard) over 12f that probably stretched its stamina too far. Its dropped back here to 10f the trip it won its penultimate start over and form thats been boosted by the 4th Atriffic Story & 7th Aggravation winning there next starts. This race looks custom made for Atacama Star with most of its rivals liking to be held up and no other real front runners, so it can get an uncontested easy lead. Richard Quinns no fool and as long as he doesnt let the horse do too much too early should have plenty left to repel any late challenges. The best bet on the nights cards. Re: Tankys Tips After 2 winners from 4 this afternoon here are My revised night selections. 530 Yarmouth: INVESTMENT WINGS looks an interesting runner here. Mark Johnston sends this horse all the way from North Yorkshire to Yarmouth to contest a Maiden handicap. Investment Wings is sent over a longer trip and it could easily be up to the task despite topweight. (Win) 640 Windsor: BONUS on paper this race is a 3 pronged affair between the selection Bonus, Prince Tum Tum & Cornus. These 3 are 11lb and upwards clear of the rest of the field on official ratings and that class level will take some bridging at this level. All 3 of these drop in class into Claiming company Today but where as Tum Tum & Cornus are struggling of there handicap marks Bonus looks well capable of winning of its mark after dropping from 108 to 89. Its last race was here over cd 7 days ago when only 1.5ls behind Presto Shinko in a 0-100 handicap in a time faster than the standard. The fact that it appears to be on a winning handicap mark now makes its entry into this claimer all the more intriguing. Stall 1 could be perfect Today and I expect an aggresive ride from Ryan Moore who is a rare jockey booking (1/6, 16%) for Willie Haggas who is 2/7, 28% here this year. The fitting of a 1st time visor looks the final part of the puzzle and should keep its mind on the job. (Win) 730 Yarmouth: DANGER ZONE has been unlucky to bump into 2 well weighted sorts on its last 2 starts when 2nd behind Spectait (won of 8lb higher) and also 2nd behind Special Lad (Won of 6lb higher mark). Danger Zone comes here in rude health, if it wasnt for them 2 horses would have won both races easily. Its worth a bet hoping that theres no hidden good thing here. (Win) 820 Roscommon: GUNNISON been told that this will WIN. Shop around theres rumours of some 2/1. Will probably go of Even money or shorter. 2.98 on Betfair at the mo to small money. Re: Tankys Tips 3 winners Yesterday including the nap @ 13/8. Others were 3/1 & 11/4. Not great but a small profit. 155 York: DISTINCTION looks the clear form pick and with ground and trip perfect for it today there should be no excuses if it isnt upto the task. A Group 2 winner over this trip @ Goodwood lto this really does look the solid option. It travelled well there and showed good battling qualities to hold on to beat Golden Quest. Millenary was over 8ls behind in 3rd there whilst Lost Soldier Three was 8th beaten over 18ls. Them 2 rivals are 3lb better of here but that shouldnt be anywhere near enough to reverse the placings. (Nap) 210 Hamilton: SARRAF drops into Selling class for the 1st time and that can be enough to get this winning handicapper back to winning ways. Its the pick of the weights by upwards of 6lb and that can prove decisive here. Its 3rd lto behind stablemate Cherished Number was a decent enough showing and shows it acts round here. Trainer Ian Semple has a decent record at this track with 10/51, 19%, +£19. Tom Eaves rides and after winning on his last 2 mounts could complete the treble here. (Nb) 305 York: ZENNO ROB ROY is top class in forigen climbs winning 7 from 16 starts including an easy 3l win in the Japan Cup. Todays trip on breeding looks ideal. Its sires progeny have a 7/24, 29% record over this distance. On todays going its performance on todays ground also reads well with 9/40, 23%. The jockey & Trainer have a 1/2, 50% record together and in a weak looking race for this level of race Zenno can take advantage and will take some stopping. (Win) 445 York: FIRENZE has won 3 of its 5 starts thus far. It was a very easy winner on its penultimate start of a rating of 70 and then defied a rise to 82 despite the race not being run to suit due to a lack of any early pace. It was never going to get beat despite the winning margin being small. Jamie Spencer replaces Johnny Murtagh who cant do the weight. Spencer & Fanshawe have a decent record together of 24/93, 26%. Firenze is improving fast and with plenty of pace in this field will get the race run to suit and can defy another 4lb rise. (Win) All the best Tankyman

Re: Tankys Tips 1 winner Yesterday @ 9/4, with 2 close 2nds. The final runner Firanze was coming through to win its race when stopping as if shot. Will be interesting to see if theres any excuse for that one. 140 Worcester: CHARANGO STAR made a winning debut here over cd under rules at the age of 7 but looked a natural in the process and there could be lots more to come from this horse. It beat a fair sort there in Martin Pipes Getoutwhenyoucan form that was boosted when that horse won on its next start easily. This decent point to pointer can make the most of the 6lb it recieves from likely favourite Weston Rock. Richard Johnson keeps the ride after riding it to victory there and he has a great record with its trainer Goldsworthy of 7/22, 31%, +£18. Together the have a 1/2 record this year and this horse can keep the percentages up. (Win) 205 Carlisle: MINEKO Peter Chapple Hyams Nashwan filly has shown much improved form since being stepped up from 7 to 12f on its 3rd start. Its chased home Henry Cecils hotpot Political Intrigue who then went on to win its next start in handicap company of a mark of 80. Its last run was even better imo when it scared the life out of the odds on Balance Of Power a horse its Trainer Roger Charlton thinks has a big future. The rest of the field there were 5ls and more further back. Balance of Powers been given a rating of 84 for that victory. If you rate Minekos run there between 78 & 81 its well up to winning this. The step up another 2f Today should suit this pocket sized battler. Chapple Hyams only ever sent 1 runner on the long trip from Suffolk to Carlisle before which isnt surprising when you think of the distance between the 2 places. Tony Culhane is a rare booking (1/3, 33% for Chapple Hyam) and He rides this course as well if not better than most with 12/89, 13%. (Nb) 250 Worcester: WINDING RIVER this lightly raced 8 year old has only its 5th start today and only its 2nd start over hurdles but easily looks the class act on what it showed in that one start where it finished 3rd in a race that 12 different winners have come from. Its had a few setbacks in its chasing career so thats why Charlie Egertons dropped this one into a Selling Hurdle to give it a confidence boosting win. Egerton has a good record with his occasional selling runners of 2/4, 50%, 2/3, 66% have been this year and he has a 2/8 record with runners at this course. Throw in Tony McCoy riding who has a good record with the trainer of 19/67, 28% and who rides the course better than anyone with 58/223, 26%. Winding River should be another McCoy winner and looks the class act here. (Win) 350 Carlisle: SPECIAL LAD this classified stakes against a load of fully exposed sorts looks the perfect race for the Paul Cole runner to complete the treble. Special Lad has been a revelation since connections worked out that it needed dropping back from middle distances to sprint trips. Since that happened its won easily from Danger Zone of a mark of 57 & then even easier from Rosapenna of 63. Excellent claimer Nelson De Souza who was on board for the 2nd of those wins is again in the saddle today and is one of the best 3lb claimers around right now. The 2lb rise that Special Lad gets for that last win looks nowhere near enough to stop it in this form and it definately looks a few steps ahead of the handicapper to me at the moment. Cole & De Souza do well together with 6/38, 15% this year. De Souza is also 1/1, 100% at this course. This looks a solid bet to Me. (Nap) All the best Tankyman

Re: Tankys Tips 1st horse ran crap, 2nd one got left for dead, 3rd horse was going well and broke a blood vessel probably around the last (came back with a bloody nose) and finished 2nd. The Naps still to go and will be carrying the Tanky big bet. Defeat there will hurt. Oh well. 2 for tonight 535 Epsom: COUNCELLOR still a Maiden after 10 starts but Tonights race is there for the taking and Councellors best run to date was round this unique course. (Win) 640 Nottingham: OUT FOR A STROLL was a very cosy winner 2 days back. Its fancied by connections to follow up and sadly for them I fancy it to follow up also. (Win) Tankyman

Re: Tankys Tips The daytime tips ran ok but no winners. The night time tips did much better with 2/2 @ 7/2 & 11/8, so just about even stevens on the day. 120 York: THREE GRACES smashed the Chester course record when winning well lto and can be another winner for the inform pairing of Godolphin & McEvoy. (Win) 155 York: FLASHY WINGS was an easy winner of the Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes lto to retain its unbeaten run. 4 horses who finished well behind it there have gone on to win since and boost the form. Flashy Wings steps upto 6f Today for the 1st time but being bred out of Zafonic who's optimum trip was 10f there shouldnt be a problem. Connections are hopeful that in time it will stay a mile. Flashy Wings can take this en route to a crack at the Group 1 Cheveley Park in October. (Nb) 215 Chester: PRIVATE BUSINESS looks the stand out horse in this race and it will be disappointing for connections if it cant win here. It was a good Maiden winner on its debut in a race that the 3rd, 6th & 7th have all come out of and won since. On its 2nd start it tried Group 3 company finishing 5th behind Aiden OBriens unbeaten Horatio Nelson. It might have finished closer still but for a tardy start and not getting a clear run in the final furlong. Despite that it was an improved showing so signs are good that its improving. The drop down into a Novice Stakes should prove no more than an exercise and to get some experience before it heads of to its main target this year The Group 1 Dewhurst in October. (Nap) 230 York: CHINEUR is 5/5 this season including wins in G3 & G2 company. This French raider won well over cd lto taking care of Boogie Street, Moss Vale, The Tatling, Fayr Jag, Orientor & Benbaun all who reoppose under the same conditions Today and who really should have a chance of reversing that form. Chineur goes well on all types of ground, has the excellent Christophe Lemaire in the saddle and can keep up trainer M.Delzangles 100% record in the Uk. (Win) 240 Wolverhampton: AFRICANUS Godolphin have a rare runner here only there 2nd ever and I doubt that there sending this Son of Dubai Millenium who is closely related to Dubawi here just for a day out. On its debut it ran well behind the odds on hotpot Maghaz over a trip on the short side for it. The extra furlong & a half today will be much more to its liking. Africanus makes its 1st start on the AW but Godolphin have fantastic AW gallops and it shouldnt lack there. In the last 2 weeks they have also won 7 & been placed in 4 from 14 Maiden races the stable has contested in. The 14 winners in that time shows that theyve hot a purple patch. Africanus can make giant strides and looks a solid bet when all things are taken into concideration. (Win) 250 Chester: CUPIDS GLORY has won 4/8 so far in its career and despite being in need of its seasonnal reappearance it still finished in front of what on paper is its main rival Today Brecon Beacon. Cupids Glory has tasted victory round this unique course before so thats a big plus. The ground some might think could be a concern but its sire Pursuit of Love has won on it and at this level so can Cupids Glory. This is its prep run before having a tilt @ The Group 1 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes later in the year. (Win) All the best Tankyman

Re: Tankys Tips 3/6 Yesterday but the main ones with the Nap & Nb. Not great prices though. 200 Sandown: MACVEL is the one that takes My eye here. A Maiden winner on its 4th start it then showed improved form on its Handicap debut when beating La Mottie by just over a length. This filly is well regarded by Trainer Mark Blanshard and if His big hopes are to be achieved it shouldeasily be up to defying a 6lb penalty here. (Win) 210 Ayr: SOUVENANCE Prescotts 2yr old comes here on the back of a good debut run when just going down through lack of experience to Sunday Smile who was having its 3rd start. There was a lot to like about that effort though and it will have learned plenty. Prescotts better horses usually come on for there 1st outing. It will take a good sort to lower this ones colours now its had that run and it can take this en route to a crack @ the G1 Meon Valley Stakes. (Nb) 220 Chester: PUGILIST with only this horse and maybe Torrens likely to want to make the pace Pugalist can soon get a good position from stall 7 and can take some pulling back. Its finished a head behind paper fav Interim Payment but is 2lb better in Today to make things interesting. It has though run much better since when easily taking care of Borouj. Its progressing quickly and with Brian Meehan booking Eddie Ahern for the 1st time this year you can sense they mean business. Ahern will be full of confidence after riding a treble here Yesterday. (Win) 320 Ayr: DREAM TONIC comes here in search of the hat-trick and I cant see who in this field can stop it. Both them wins were over todays trip of 8f and with only a single 6lb penalty the trebles on against basically exposed or out of form rivals. This can be another winner for old windmill arms Micky Channon. (Win) 440 Chester: YANKEE GEORGE I dont normally associate the bet of the day with a horse drawn 10 at chester but Yankee George has been found a guilt edged chance and connections will be mortified if it can take this against horses rated over 14lbs lower than it. Yankee George has run some big races including when beating Sonny Santino over this trip at Doncaster. Sonny Santino runs in a nice Conditions race @ Sandown today a race that Yankee George was also entered into but Channons decided to come here and give it a confidence boost in lowly Claiming company. Channons runners do well here with 2/8 this year and this really ought to be another one for them. Solid. (Nap) 450 Sandown: DONT DILI DALI now the pennies dropped this filly could be worth following over the next few months. It was well in contril throughout the final furlong when beating Psychic Star and on a line through Sir Percy has every chance of lowering the favourite Right Agains colours Today. Sir Percy beat Dili Dali by just over 1l but beat Right Again by almost 2ls. Right Again looks to have been going backwards of late whilst Dili Dali is improving. Dont Dili Dali is well bred out of a G1 winner and with it getting all the allowances here Id rather back it at 8/1 than Right Again @ 5/4. (Win) All the best Tankyman

Re: Tankys Tips Another almost day Yesterday but the big win keeps evading me. 3/6 with winners @ 11/4, 9/4 & 5/4. Still a profits a profit. 150 Sandown: MUSICANNA steps up into Listed racing but can take it in its stride getting ideal soft ground which is basically against all its opponents here. It needed its debut run but still ran well to finish 2nd on unsuitable ground and its won all 3 of its starts since. The 2 most impressive were on sort & heavy ground. Todays ground will be somewhere between both. Johnny Murtagh who rode it to its last easy win form thats been boosted by 4th placed Everest & 6th home Granston again takes the ride. (Win) 205 Chester: MASAFI Prescott is 1/1 with runners here this year and this horse can maintain that 100% record. It was in need of its 1st run this year when 7/20. It was only lack of fitness that saw it drop away in the last furlong. It came on plenty for that race and was only beaten 1l by the well weighted hat-trick seeking Ouninpohja. It should be spot on Today and of an attractive weight of just 8-12 it looks the one here to me for the inform combo of Mark Prescott & Seb Sanders. (Win) 215 Beverley: PASSION FRUIT since being fitted with the blinkers passion Fruit has had a new lease of life winning 4 races from its last 6 starts. The 2 it lost it ran well but the unsuitable gf ground was against it. On rain softened ground its been impressive no more so than lto when it was a ready winner from Wigwam Willie. Paul Mulrennan is 2/2 on this horse and is very good value for his 3lb claim. Its also very well drawn in stall 14 and will be a big player here. (Win) 220 Sandown: CLOSE TO YOU goes on any type of ground but maybe its best run to date was lto when hacking up by 5ls on soft ground @ Newbury. It left many well regarded sorts spread out like a line of washing there. Its upped into Group 3 company today but so are 4 of the other 6 runners in this race. The 2 with group race experience have both flopped on soft ground before so Close To You is a confident pick. (Nb) 335 Newton Abbot: EAST TYCOON came back from an 11 month sabatical with an impressive win from Billie John of a mark of 125. This horse is expected to be a serious tool as a chaser and will take a lot of stopping here. Its 2/2 in chases so far and has jumped like a pro in both them starts. It travels well and has a turn of speed. Tony McCoy who has ridden this horse in both those wins stays loyal to it which is testement to its chances when you think he could have rode one of Pipeys 4 or even Mr Ed for the inform Peter Bowen. East Tycoon left a big impression on me with that last win and can dish out more punishment to this big field. Confident pick for Me. (Nap) 340 Chester: LEAGUE CHAMPION has been running well enough in Group races this year and the drop into this average looking conditions stakes can see it get back to winning ways. Easily the highest rated in the field Darryl Holland can pop it out and grab the advantagious rail position and ride his rivals too sleep. Holland is the only worry as he's not having the best of seasons but after a dry spell he got a confidence boosting win at Wolverhampton that will hopefully spur him on. League Champion is the class act here and there should be no excuses if it cant win under todays conditions. (Win) All the best Tankyman

Re: Tankys Tips A winning nap @ 4/5 plus a 5/2 winner from the 3 runners for another small profit on the day. 215 Hamilton: DARK CHARM heads the weights here in a Claimer that only 3 on paper have a realistic chance of wining. Its course record is 1/1 and with The Fahey team in good form I think it has the scope to deal with its main rivals Sawwah & Cherished Number who are weighted to finish close to each other again Today. The cheek pieces that were left of last time are put back on Today. Well drawn in stall 2 it can be another winner for Fahey who has a record of 4/26, 15%, +£26.50 (Win) 230 Leicester: CANTABRIA only went down by a neck to Jean Marie who had had the benefit of a previous run on its debut. That horse has since run a good 2nd place in a pretty decent Conditions Stakes finishing ahead of 3 horses rated in the mid 80s. That performance was given a provisional rating by the grader of 85 which puts it in this race with form way above anything shown by anything else so far. The run there was definately eyecatching and the way it quickened away from all the other horses that were drawn low that day some 6ls and more behind it. The 5th home there Indian Lady who was 9ls behind the selection there has since won a fair Maiden. Cantabria is well thought of by Stoute and holds an entry in The Meon Valley Fillies Mile. Whether thats a bit optimistic only time will tell but with that first race experience under its belt it can go one better here. Stoute does well here including with his 2 year olds (16/65, 25%) (NAP) 415 Hamilton: REGENTS SECRET goes very well round this course and its last 6 outings here have resulted in form figures of 1,1,2,2,1,2. Lto it tried to defy a 6lb penalty for beating Toshi here but the lack of early pace meant the race wasnt really run to suit it when a fast finishing head 2nd behind Oulan Bator. Regents Secret is 2lb lower in the weights for Todays race. Fergal Lynch rides and his record on the horse is 2/4. Lynch has a decent enough record here with 5/28, 17%, +£11. Combined with Todays trainer Jom Goldie it reads 4/20, 20%, +£11. A big player here IMO. (Win) 540 Wolverhampton: OUTLOOK has been found a guilt edged chance to bounce back to winning form in a race its rated 23lb higher superior to the next best in here. The reason for that is Prescott drops it into Claiming company and if it cant win here theres no hope for it back in handicap company. Its 2/4 at this course including a win over cd. Prescott & Sanders have a 24% sr Together this year, Sanders rides the course well, 21% sr. The class act at this level. (Nb) 555 Windsor: SOHGOL with Luca Cumanis team in good form this could be another winner for the yard. A winner lto form thats been boosted by the 5th Bon Bon, 7th Along The Nile & 10th Tanforan all winning since. A.Hamblett who rode it to victory there retains the ride and is doing well so far with 3 winners from 12 rides (25% & +£30) for Cumani this year. Hes also 1/3 here at Windsor. Sohgols only raised 2lb for that victory and this lightly raced sort can follow up here. (Win) All the best Tankyman

Re: Tankys Tips Close Yesterday with 3/4 Nap 4/9, Nb 4/9 & a 3/1. If Regent Secret could have got out 1 stride earlier it would have been 4/4. Oh well. 230 Brighton: FIVEOCLOCK EXPRESS is 3 from 4 round this unique course and has found another guilt edged change to add to that record in a Selling Stakes. Even with weight adjustments its still 9lb and upwards superior to the rest of these. Johnny Egan rides and Hes 2/3 on this horse. It ran well lto in handicap company and this is much easier. (NAP) 400 Brighton: OUT FOR A STROLL comes here in the form of its life and the hat-tricks definately on. It won of 54 @ Yarmouth before defying the 6lb penalty @ Nottingham. It can again defy that same penalty today for trainer Stuart Williams who does well here 6/37, 16%. Chris Catlin rides and together and they do well when combined this year with 5/23, 21% (Win) 415 Yarmouth: LE PERSIANNA can give weight and a beating all round here to build on its last race win in Listed company from Bon Nuit in a race run in a pretty quick time. Willie Jarvis has his team back firing winning with 4 of his last 14 runners. He is 3/9, 33%. here this year. When teamed up with Alan Munro who is riding with supreme confidence of late they also do well with 6/33, 18%. (Win) 445 Yarmouth: TARABUT finally showed what trainer Ed Dunlops known for a while when it bounded away to win unchallenged by 5ls here over 14f lto. That was of a mark of 66 the same mark it runs of here due to the fact that race was an Apprentice handicap. The further it went there the better it looked so todays extra 2f looks perfect and can produce even more improvement. Dunlop has been back amongst the winners over the last few days and has done well here this year with 2/7, 28%. (NB) My Evening race fancies: 615 Perth: FOOL ON THE HILL i might look a fool taking on Kidz Play who is 5/5 here but to me its the weights that hold the secret to this race. If this were a handicap Fool on the Hill would have to give Kidz Play 7lbs so the fact that it gets 6lb here means theres a 13lb swing that favours the selection. Phillip Hobbs has his team running well and after its pipe opener for the season it should be ready to show its true colours. Paddy Brennan rides and is 2/4 on this horse. Hobbs has a 19% sr here abd teamed up Hobbs & Brennan have a 19% sr also with an lsp of +£23. (Win) 645 Perth: OVERSTRAND stands out like a sore thumb in this race. On the official ratings it has 29lb in hand and even with weight adjustments has a full 20lb in hand of its closest rival. Overstrand has been racing at high levels of late with its last 3 starts coming in good class B handicaps. The drop into this poor on paper Class F Claimer should see it get back to winning ways with the minimum of fuss. If it cant gain a confidence boosting win here they may as well put it out in the fields. (Win) 730 Worcester: TOUCH CLOSER is 2/3 in its fledgling chase career including wins in its last 2 starts over 20f which connections reckon is plenty short enough for it. The step up to 24f Today is expected to bring about plenty of improvement not that Im sure it even needs to improve to win here. Peter Bowen does well here with 7/33, 21% this year. Bown and todays jockey Little Dickie Johnson have struck up a great partnership with 12/30, 40%, +£23 together this year. Long term its similar with 32/88, 36%, +£51. Johnson also rides well round here with 12/52, 23%, +£20. All in all it adds up to a good looking bet. The best bet of the night meetings to me. (Win) All the best Tankyman

Re: Tankys Tips 5 winners from 7 Yesterday. The 1st and last races took the gloss of the day. Winning prices were 2/1, 2/1, 7/4, 11/8 & 8/15. A nice profit for the day all the same. 320 Perth: MUSIC TO MY EARS has got its act together as a chaser after winning its last 2 starts very easily. It can continue that progress here by defying the 7lb penalty for that last win. Brian Harding who has a 10% sr here rides for Jonjo Oneill who has a good record here over the last 5 years of 17/65, 26%. (Win) 340 Brighton: PEARLS A SINGER cd winner here of a mark of 63 from Mpenzi who boosted the form by winning over cd Yesterday. The 6th home there Gaelic Roulette has also won since to boost the form. McEldowney looks a big danger but that horse had to be ridden very hard just 2 days ago to beat Dune Raider @ Hamilton. This sharp course isnt guaranteed to suit its style. (Win) 440 Brighton: OUT FOR A STROLL completed the treble with an effortless win in a Class 4 Handicap here Yesterday. That was the 2nd time its defied the 6lb penalty and against lesser rivals in this Class 5 handicap it can complete the 4 timer. Its dropped back to 7f but its twice won at this trip and was in control at the furlong pole Yesterday. Stuart Williams the trainer was on ATR Yesterday and said hes not worried by the drop back in trip and aslong as the rain stays away and it eats up tonight then it will take its place here and take all the beating. Lovely little Hayley Turner climbs back on board. Shes 1/1 on this horse and 2/3 for Williams. She also rides the course aswell as any with 8/51, 15%, +£45. She takes of a very useful 3lbs. (Nb) 450 Perth: RAJAM has been transformed by the fitting of the cheekpieces winning both its starts in them. Firstly by 6ls from Va Vavoom of 99 and then defying a 13lb rise in the weights yet still won easily from Given A Chance by 4ls. William Kennedy is in the saddle and is 2/2 round here. His record for trainer Harker is 3/4, 75%. Harker himself has a good record here with 4/10, 40%, +£19 over the last 5 years. Hes 2/6 this year. It runs here of the same mark of 112 again Today and with Kennedy taking of a useful 5lbs it should take some beating. (NAP) All the best Tankyman

Re: Tankys Tips Tanky I have been reading your tips for a while now, some great write ups and tips, I was wondering if you had a list of winners/runners, profit/loss, nap wins or level stake profit/loss? I've read post #117 regarding your staking, you must be on a heathly profit. Thanks :hope

Re: Tankys Tips Thanks Mr Shrewdie. Due to My differing staking its hard for me to say what the profit or loss on here is. Maybe Johnny will do an update when He's bored and see how much Ive lost since the last check he did. On a personnal note this years going nicely. Nothing spectacular but steady profits. Sorry that I cant be more help. Im pretty sure but not certain though that the good days out weigh the bad ones.

Re: Tankys Tips Thanks Guys. Oh and Pete its just a lucky pin.. A hard day Yesterday with just 1 from 4. The main one did win though with the Nap winning @ 9/4. 2.20 Lingfield - SILVER BLUE cd winner here by 8ls even with a slipped saddle. Ran well since in the Listed Acomb Stakes. The Hannon stable is firing winners at an average of 1 a day over the last fortnight. Hannons record here is 11/59, 18%. its even better with his 2 yr olds with 5/13, 38% Ryan Moore takes the ride. (Win) 2.30 Musselburgh - CHAKA ZULU Comes here in fine form this season with figures of 3,2,1,2,1. Stayed on well today to beat todays rival Rare Coincidence by 2ls. A step up from 12f to 14f is enough to offset the 3lb rise. T.Eaves is one of the better apprentices riding in this race with plenty of experience. (Win) 3.30 Musselburgh -THOUGHTSOFSTARDOM had no luck in running when a close 4th behind Saxon Saint @ Brighton lto. That horse has boosted the form by winning twice since of 4lb and 9lb higher marks. Shermeen who was 3rd and Carmenero who was 5th have also boosted the form by also winning since. The selection had previously beated Saxon Saint and it wasnt the rising weights that stopped it, just bad luck in running. Lightly raced and unexposed it can get back to winning ways at this more convential course. (Win) 3.40 Bangor - SPECULAR the handicapper has reassessed this horse since last season and dropped it from 142 to just 115 and that was despite it winning 2 of its 3 chase starts. This Australian import has taken time to acclimatise after been brought over from there after it won 9 of its 11 starts and came with a big reputation. On its debut in this country it finished only 17ls behind the very classy Rooster Booster in a Champion Hurdle trial. The handicapper could have underestimated this one now and it certainly looks of a very attractive mark for this race. Any rain wouldnt detract from its chance. (NB) 4.30 Tralee RED DAMSON Mark Prescott sent this one over for a race at Bellewstown last week where it trotted up by 14ls. That was its prep for this, the main reason it was brought over to Ireland. P.Fahey who rode it there is again in the saddle. This young up and coming stayer should have no problems with todays 17f and looks the class act here. (Nap) 6.00 Tralee NAPLES comes in here in form having won an NHF race prior to making a winning debut over hurdles at Roscommon over 16 furlongs. That trip was on the short side for this horse and up to a more suitable 22f today it should be able to follow up with a minimum of fuss. Paul Carberry is 1/1 on the horse and retains the ride.
