Re: Tankys Tips Thanks Johnny Youve made Me :o . Glad the lucky pins working sometimes 120 Newmarket: MR VEGAS has 13lb+ in hand of these on official ratings and looks a shoe in to Me. Stepped up in trip lto from 12f a distance where it won a decent little race to 16f it only found a horse rated 17lb above it (Melrose Avenue) to good for it and that was only by 1l in The Queens Vase @ Royal York. The rest of the field were 3ls and more adrift there including 3 horses who had come into that race on the back of decent wins. That race was run in a very good time over 3 seconds faster than standard. Its rivals Today as I say are poor and with Mr Vegas seemingly able to act on any sort of ground it looks a rock solid banker bet to Me. No excuses, A class above. (Nap) 215 Lingfield: GREAT BELIEF i made a note of this horse when it ran a 2l 4th to Nota Bene on its only start over 6f to date and Todays the day it can fulfil the potential it showed there. That race was full of good sorts with Nota Bene winning its next 3 starts, the 2nd Gimasha hacking up lto and the 6th home babe McCool a 2 time winner since. Great Belief has had excuses in its 2 races since that day. Firstly it never acted when tried on the AW and then on its first start this year it had ground far too soft for it. Conditions look perfect for it Today. It has the prime draw in 11 for this 11 runner race, its back over 6f and with Amir Quinn good value for his 3lb claim it will take some beating. (Win) 230 Newmarket: CONSULAR was an easy winner from Clueless in a Haydock Maiden before being raised in class and finishing 3rd in a decent handicap behind a smart looking sort in Munsef. Consular led there entering the final furlong but the 12f trip seemed just to far for it so the drop back to 10f Today looks ideal. Im so Lucky was a further 2ls behind Consular there but has been out and boosted the form by winning a decent handicap against older horses. (EWay) 700 Carlisle: CELESTIAL PRINCESS has improved with each of its 3 starts so far and has been found a spot kick here that it should take with the minimum of fuss. It was a decent 2nd behind Rising Cross on its penultimate start before running even better when 2nd to a potential top class horse in Nasheej. The rest of a decent looking field were left trailing well behind including Unique Moment who was 5ls behind there and reopposses under the same conditions. That one has the best chance of those with form of worrying the favourite but I doubt it will finish any closer here. The newcomers hardly come from stables renowned for turning out 1st time winners boasting strike rates of 6% & 3% in that department. Mr Vegas looks a cert to start the day and this should be almost as big a cert to finish it for Me. (Nb) Banker Double Mr Vegas & Celestial Princess All the best Tankyman

Re: Tankys Tips Yesterday there looked 2 certs luckily they came good. Today looks harder so for Me will be a day of smaller bets. 120 Newmarket: DANSILI DANCER learned plenty on its debut when bolting up lto from Master Of The Race by an easy 4ls. Dansili is a big horse who never made the course at 2 because it was too immature. It can further reward the patience that they showed by adding to this Handicap to that Maiden win. Phillip Robinson & Clive Cox do well when they team up. There record reads 12/54 (22%) & a lsp of over £40. Its slightly better riding a 3 year old like Todays mount @ 26%. This year they have done even better with 5 winners from just 12 mounts (41%). No easy thing but Dansili should be the one the rest have to beat imo. (Win) 305 Newmarket: SOLDIERS TALE has only had 4 career starts and won 3. Its only defeat was on its debut when narrowly beaten into 2nd place. Its learning curve has been impressive winning a Maiden followed by a handicap and finally a Group 3 in good style. The step up to Group 1 company looks the logical step. This horse has a high cruising speed and a blistering turn of foot. Expect it to be played very late. Noseda & Spencer do well when teamed up. 7/29 (24%) over the last few years. This year they have done even better with 3/8 (37%). Conditions look ideal so there should be no excuses there. (Win) 325 Folkestone: FRONTLINE FINANCIER has some decent performances albeit at a low level over trips upto 14f including a win over that trip @ Wolverhampton where it stayed on strongly. Its always looked an out and out stayer and that impression was confirmed when they upped it to 17f lto and it just ground the opposition into the ground. It looks like it can be a fairly decent player in lower level staying races and this race looks there for the taking. Most of its main rivals Today were more than 2ls behind there and will do well to get any closer despite the slightly amended conditions. A likable sort with an improving profile it can run up a little sequence till the handicapper gets its measure. (Nb) 400 Folkestone: MILLINSKY is worth following here running of a 4lb lower mark than when a 2l winner of an Apprentice race lto. That figure could be construed to be 6lb because jockey Mills who is in the saddle again Today could only take of 5lb in that race yet today can take of his whole claim of 7lb. This cd winner 2 races back can take this before the handicapper gets its revenge. On the handicap its a good thing, I wouldnt go that far but I cant see just who in this field could lower its colours in the form its been showing. (Win) 435 Folkestone: BRONWEN impressed Me last week when it quickened away from previous race winners for an easy 5l win just 6 days ago. Wizard Looking had hacked up previously by 6ls so the fact Bronwen left that for dead by 5ls gives that form a rock solid look. Eddie Ahern who rode it to victory there is again in the saddle and despite a 6lb penalty it can follow up for the inform Jeremy Noseda who is still firing out winners on a regular basis. Todays best bet for Me. (Nap) 915 Doncaster: BANJO PATTERSON this pretty expensive colt by green desert (115,000gns) took plenty of time coming to hand but appears to have blossomed and looks a horse to follow. It made its debut at 2 showing up well before being eased home when its chance had gone. It was then put away for 8 months before being turned out @ Windsor where it showed much improved form. It showed courage to go through a small gap to come with a good run to record a cosy victory. The extra furlong Today looks ideal for it both on its style of running and its breeding and of a mark of 71 it can make a winning handicap debut. Worth waiting till almost the end of racing for this one. (Win) All the best Tankyman

Re: Tankys Tips 305 York: BATIK is unbeaten so far this year and can continue that run here. Its been going well according to gallop reports at home and withLuca Cumani adept at squeezing every bit of improvement out of his handicappers it can defy a 4lb rise for that last win. Darryl Holland & Cumani do well Together 23/114 (20%) over the last 5 years. Its even better on 4yr olds+ of 15/61 (24%). The rain has arrived just in time for this battler. (Win) 425 Lingfield: HIGH RESERVE is a lightly raced 4 year old having only its 6th start Today. It showed its still improving when making its seasonnal reappearance on its 1st attempt at Todays trip of 10f. It wasnt given the best tactical ride but picked up well and finished a never nearer 2nd behind Boppys Princess. That horse then won on its next start even easier of a 5lb higher mark. The 4th home Dance To My Tune has also won since to further boost the form. Todays rain softened ground will be more to its liking and with Johnny Murtagh retaining the ride after that not so perfect ride last time Im sure He will put in the extra bit of effort that could make the difference. (Nb) 440 Wolverhampton: LADY ALGARHOUD is 3/3 round this course. Twice succesful over 5f before winning a decent Claimer over 6f on its last start in a fairly decent time. Shane Kelly takes the mount and is an ideal partner when He has the tool to do a job. This horse looks the perfect tool here against a field full of out of sorts rivals. Lady Algarhoud will take some pegging back round here. (Win) 715 Chepstow: GOLDEN ACER acheived a much higher level of form imo when dropped back in trip and bolting up over 5f @ Bath from She's Minnie in a good time. That followed a performance full of promise when just failing to stay 6f @ Goodwood. It eventually tied up there but was only beaten 1l behind Sir percy who then went on to win a much better race on its next start. The 2nd Right Again and last home there Zafantage have also boosted the form by winning races since. The form of Supercast looks inferior to me but theres no doubt it can improve but trying to conceed 2lb to Golden Acer is a huge task. (Nap) 730 Chester: PIVOTALS PRINCESS is unbeaten in 3 this year and still has an upwards profil. It has the early pace to be able to sit handily from its prime draw in 1. The rain that has come is ideal and with Graham Gibbons who is 3/3 on this horse again riding it can keep the unbeaten run going. The connections prefered this handicap race ahead of a Listed race here Tomorrow. (Win) All the best Tankyman

Re: Tankys Tips 210 York: CURTAIL was only beaten a neck by Assertive who then followed up on its next start it won a Listed race. The 8th Close To You & 12th Norman Beckett have also won races since and plenty of others from that race have run creditably since. Ed McMahons horses are now running better than at any other time this season and that was emphasised Yesterday when He scored a nice double @ Chester. The ground here should be ideal and Graham Gibbons gets on well with this horse. (Win) 325 Chester: MISS LOVAT a repeat of its 3rd place behind Verite where it finished over 3ls ahead of Yesterdays winner Silver Crest over this cd would easily be good enough to win this race. Well drawn in stall 4 and against some poor rivals it can put that experience to good effect here and come home well in front. (Win) 345 Nottingham: NEVERLETME GO has come good in its last 2 starts. Firstly it beat Molly Marie in fine style. Molly Marie & Juniper Banks who was also behind there have both won since to boost the form. It improved on that effort when only going down by a head to Pivotals Princess in a very fast run race (0.77s faster than standard). Pivotals Princess has won 2 races since of 6lb & 14lb higher marks. The last of them wins came only Yesterday when it won well @ Chester. Neverletme Go is put up 4lb for that improved showing but that shouldnt stop it getting back to winning ways here against some out of form sorts. (Nap) 500 York: ROMANTIC EVENING can complete a course double for Ed McMahon here. An excellent debut 3rd to Godolphins Dickensian beaten less than half a length. If jockey Neil Callan hadnt lost his irons when making a charge its possible it would have won there. The 2nd home Mutawajid has boosted the form with an easy 2l victory since. Graham Gibbons replaces callan Today and thats not a bad decision. (Nb) 510 Chester: LUCID DREAMS has been in excellent form this season with form figures of 1,5,1,1,3. The 3rd in its last race came of the same mark as it runs of Today (65). The slow pace in that race went against it but it still finished well beaten only a length to show that its well upto winning of this mark. The fact that there will be plenty of pace here is perfect. Can come late and take this. (Win) All the best Tankyman

Re: Tankys Tips :o 220 Perth: LAHIB THE FIFTH was a very impressive winner of a nhf race at the 1st time of asking and has the scope to go on and be a fairly decent hurdler. This half brother to Bobs Gone (Winner of 4 hurdles races) is said to have taken to hurdles like a duck to water an dI would think that connections would be dissappointed if it wasnt up to making a winning hurdles debut here. (Nb) 230 Stratford: MR ED the old talking horse should easily take this race after a pretty impressive debut over fences. It only made one semblence of a mistake there when it dragged its legs through the water jump. It moved up stylishly then and won the race in a matter of strides. Mr Ed was a good 20lb better than Sweet Diversion over hurdles and has the scope to be even better over the larger obstacles. The fact that it also gets 6lb from its main rival and Tony McCoy again rides are just extra reasons to be confident. Hopefully a few people will want to back Sweet Diversion who is 2/2 here over cd to make the market more attractive. I can only see one outcome here though and thats an easy win for Mr Ed. (Max Bet) 250 Perth: KID Z PLAY has taken well to Novice Chasing winning both its starts to date. Firstly it beat the inform Tribal Dispute easily and then followed that by defeating the highly regarded Dawton by 2.5ls. KidzPlay loves it round here and has a perfect wins to run ratio of 4/4 (2 chase & 2 hurdles) R.McGrath who is 2/2 is again in the saddle. The step up in trip shouldnt be a problem because its won over this trip here over hurdles. I can see KidzPlay getting an uncontested lead here and be up to galloping these into the ground from the front. (Win) 310 Haydock: CERTAIN JUSTICE only went down by a sh to Hazewind lto. That was an even better run due to the fact that it was poorly drawn in that race and met a fair bit of trouble crossing over from one side to another. When it did get racing room there it finished very well and would have won with another yard or two. Stef Liddiard seems to have revitalised this horse that She got from the Paul Cole yard. Its never going to return to the days when it had a rating of 105 but now its back in form it will be a big player here of a mark of just 70. (Win) 320 Perth: BROOKLYN BROWNIE lost nothing in defeat lto when going down by 3ls to Enhancer of level weights. That was a good performance bearing in mind that horse is rated 17lb higher on the official ratings. Graham Lee again takes the ride and will take some catching. Tandava its main market rival faces a big task trying to conceed Brooklyn 6lbs and would be more effective if the rain came. (Nap) All the best Tankyman

Re: Tankys Tips A very poor days racing Today with not much to get excited about.. 215 Ayr: PACIFIC PRIDE ran a good 3rd on its debut behind Mallaad (Won again since) with Triskaidekaphobia a 2 times winner back in 5th. Pacific Pride stepped up on that by coming 2nd in The Group 2 Coventry Stakes on its next start and that level of form just cant be matched here. Short odds but the best chance of a winner on the day. (Nap) 300 Newton Abbot: TOTHEROADYOUVGONE is an improving chaser who seems to be getting better despite being an 11 year old now and looks one to follow through the summer season to me. Its won 3 of its last 4 chase starts and last time out looked better than ever when easily brushing aside Mullensgrove by 6ls. Mullensgrove won nto to boost the form. With Maidestone Monument in the field that horse should set a decent pace and set this up for Totheroadyouvgones finishing speed. (Win) 415 Ayr: GRAND TERRE took 9 turf starts to finally get the hang of winning. It won well of 45 and then looked even better when following up of a mark of 51 on its next start and looked a good few lbs ahead of the handicapper still there. It can defy another penalty here taking it to a mark of 56 in a poor field. Paul Hanagan who won on it last time He rode it is back in the saddle. (Nb) All the best Tankyman

Re: Tankys Tips Thankfully Tomorrow theres some decent racing. The last couple have days have been just about as bad as racing gets. 230 Brighton: SPIRIT OF CHESTER has the form in the book to make this race a formality. Rated 33lb superior to its nearest rival on the official handicap there should be no excuses. It has placed form in a Group 2 and thats something its rivals here can only dream off. Nothings certain in racing but if Mark Johnson cant win with this horse here He may as well call the meat wagon because there will be nowhere left for it to go. (Nap) 245 Beverley: GOODTIME GIRL Tim Easterbys horse appeared to learn plenty on its debut run and was vastly improved on its 2nd start when beaten just over 4ls by a decent sort in Pickett. Pickett almost followed up on its handicap debut of a mark of 79 on its next start. Goodtime Girl led until the 2 pole there before succumbing to the big guns there. It will have come on a lot more for that run and the return to faster ground will suit. Well drawn in 10 here it can sit handy and make a bold attempt to make all from the front. With the favourite badly drawn I reckon it has every chance of succeeding. (EWay) 315 Beverley: HUMBLE OPINION was a good winner lto and looks well worth following for now. The 4th home there Aiguille has won since to boost the form. Humble Opinions still lightly raced and open to more improvement having only its 5th turf start here today and with conditions perfect it should have no trouble defying a 4lb penalty in this race. (Nb) 400 Brighton: LANDUCCI is a old favourite of mine who loves it round this course. Its form figures of 1,1,3,1,1 here bear testiment to that. Last time out it ran a creditable 3rd behind Quantum Leap to prove that its well upto winning of its new revised mark of 81. Michael Hills rides and is 2/2 on this horse round here and has a record second to none at this course with 9 wins from 18 mounts over the last 5 years (50%). A strong finisher in its races its definately worth risking that it will last home with the step back up to 8f Today. (Win) All the best Tankyman

Re: Tankys Tips Glad you picked the right one to back Pete. The others were Donkeys. Well Humble Opinion in My Humble Opinion wasnt given the best ride by the jockey but its history now. 220 Lingfield: BUSTER HYVONEN has been unlucky to have bumped into 2 smart horses in its only 2 races to date and Today it can find that 3rd time should be lucky. On its debut it only went down by a head to Party Boss of level weights. That horse then won its next 5 starts ending up with a win in a Listed race. Lto it was 2nd behind Richard Hannons Prince Samos who then followed up in handicap company by winning of a mark of 79. A repeat showing of either of them pieces of form should be enough to win this well. Drawn in stall 1 it should be able to bag the rail and hopefully the gaps will appear when needed. (Win) 230 Catterick: CREATIVE MIND ran very well on its debut when beaten only half a length by Celestrial Princess. With E.Oneils horses running well and Jamie Spencer taking over in the saddle I expect a bold showing and wouldnt be surprised at all to see this horse turn over the odds on hot pot. (Win) 240 Uttoxeter: ATTIVA has taken to Chasing in good style with back to back 2nd places behind Pebble Bay & then Bertiebanoo in a fast time over 4 seconds faster than standard. Sam Thomas again takes the mount and a repeat showing here will set the rest of a field a task that none of them look up to being able to complete. (Win) 300 Catterick: COURT OF APPEAL deserves another chance Today despite being slightly disappointing lto when only 2nd to Looks The Business @ Wolverhampton despite being rated 8lb superior to that horse and running of levels. That was its 1st attempt on that course and it didnt enjoy it in my opinion. Todays course and distance will be much more to its liking. Its won round here b4 and has won at the trip on a few occassions. Today it also has 33lb in hand of its nearest rival and with a good draw in 2 added to the booking of Rob Winston, I think this horse is definately one to side with Today. (Nb) 310 Uttoxeter: PRINCESS PEA is only a little horse but Martin Pipe's no fool so when He brought it out of a little Claiming Hurdle after its last run from Lucy Wadham He must have seen some potential there. With Pipe's ability to improve horses 2nd to no other He can muster a few races from this horse who at only 5 years old should have better times ahead of it. Its improved with each run to date and Todays race looks almost hand picked for it. This Conditional Jockeys Selling Handicap wont take that much winning and with Tom Malone one of the best Conditionals riding in this race it shouldnt lack from the saddle. I expect it to win here and win well. (Nap) 755 Haydock: BANJO PATTERSON this pretty expensive colt by green desert (115,000gns) took plenty of time coming to hand but appears to have blossomed and looks a horse to follow. It made its debut at 2 showing up well before being eased home when its chance had gone. It was then put away for 8 months before being turned out @ Windsor where it showed much improved form. It showed courage to go through a small gap to come with a good run to record a cosy victory. (Win) All the best Tankyman

Re: Tankys Tips Yes, superb! Well done! clap.gif I was going to ask if you'd noticed that your selections at around 7/2 and above show a much higher rate of return, but I guess the day you get winners at 1/1, 2/1, 11/10, 6/5 and 9/4 is probably not the right time. embarassed.gif

Re: Tankys Tips I just go on what I fancy Slapdash. Id love them all to be bigger prices but I go for a constant trickle rather than a occassional splash. Thanks for the info though its something I hadnt realised. The only one above 7/2 Today was the nap and that pulled up lame after the 4th ruining some great bets.. Yesterday went well with 5 from 6 so feeling much better now. 210 Leicester: COLLOQUIAL stands out in this race to me after seeing the form of its close 2nd to Scriptwriter (13ls back to the 3rd) boosted in style when that horse cosily took a Handicap on its next start of a mark of 83. Tackling the same Trip on almost identical ground Today there should be no excuses in a race where its easy to find holes in the form of all the others. (Nb) 220 Hamilton: PROXENIA has shown plenty in its 2 starts to date to suggest that in this field it will be a major surprise if its not 3rd time lucky in its quest to win a race. It ran a pleasing debut race when a never nearer 3rd behind Forces Sweetheart and improved on that when a running on 2nd behind Mixed Blessing a horse who was only beaten 1l on its next start in a Listed race. La Mottie who was 4th behind Proxenia has since trotted up on its sole start since and further boosted the form. Another eyecatching thing is Richard Hannons runners in Scotland are very rare and this horse is infact the first runner He has sent to Hamilton. I will be very surprised if He heads back from there empty handed. (Nap) 250 Hamilton: VICTORIA PEEK has hit form in the last month and definately has scope for further improvement. It won on its penultimate start @ Catterick of a mark of 52 and followed up with a cosy victory of a mark of 57 in a Apprentice Handicap when ridden by 5lb Claimer Victoria Behan. It runs here Today of 59 but with Adrian Nicholls much more dynamic in a finish that shouldnt be a problem. I expect a bold showing here before it heads to Redcar on Sunday to try and defy the penalty again before its reassessed. (Win) 410 Cartmel: MOORAMARA has shown consistant if not winning form over Hurdles as proven by good 2nd places behind decent yardsticks in Izzykeen, Portavadie & Bishops Bridge. Theres definately no doubt then that it comes here in good form for its Chasing debut. Bred out of Alflora (sired Farmer Jack, Central House, Hand Inn Hand, etc all far better chasres than hurdlers) its odds on that its going to be much better suited by the larger obstacles. Reports about its schooling are that its taken to it very well. The only slight worry is that Trainer Beaumont hasnt hit form yet but in a poor field its worth risking to make a winning start to its chase career in a race where the opposition looks limited at best. (Win) 710 Doncaster: FISOLA was a cosy winner from Secret Night on its debut and saw the form boosted when that horse won well next time out. It wasnt really any surprise to connections because they had there money down and it was punted into 5/1 in a largish field. This horse is still a baby as it was only really 2 in May and its trainer Clive Cox has stated that there is much more to come from it. Smart Cassie was also a winner on debut but the form of that win from Quote Unquote doesnt stand up to inspection with that horse continually frustrating and a well beaten horse in a easier race since. Fisola looks worth waiting for and with Master Tactician Phillip Robinson riding for Cox they can improve there already excellent record together. Robinson has a record of 13/56 for Cox (23%) and a lsp from those rides of +43.93 this year they have done even better together with a 6/14 (42%) strike rate +£24.93 (Win) All the best Tankyman

I'm not suggesting you change the way you pick 'em: you've obviously got that sussed! wink2.gif According to my calculations (and I may have made the odd error here and there) up to and including yesterday you'd given 201 tips to win in this thread (including naps and nbs, but leaving out the each-way selections). Of these, 36 started at prices of 7/2 and above and made an average profit of a whopping 52.78% at SP! clap.gif

Re: Tankys Tips I wasnt saying anything bad mate I was just saying I go with my strongest feelings. Still another day Today so hoping to do better. I appreciate the input so many thanks. Yesterday was a big dissappointment with 4 of the 5 selections finishing 2nd. Hoping to do much better Today. Theres a glut if racing Today. Afternoons Racing: 210 Carlisle: MAD CAREW has won both the 12f Claiming races that it has run in to date and can complete the hat-trick Today. Lto it put up an improved showing by beating Kuster (Rated 13lb its superior) of level weights by over 2ls. Its now moved to David Evans yard from George Moores after being brought out of that race for 16k. No risks are taken with the eyeshield again on plus a 1st time visor. Robert Winston is also an excellent jockey booking. (Win) 305 Warwick: RIVER OF BABYLON was a very unlucky horse lto @ Doncaster when 4th beaten only 1l behind Langford. It was continually denied a clear run there throughout the final furlong and when the chance eventually appeared it was much to late to recover. That race was run in a good time a second faster than standard. Both its turf wins to date have come over 7f so the drop back to that trip doesnt look a worry. (Win) 325 Southwell: NAZIMABAD made all @ Worcester on Wednesday in a facile manner never once coming of the bridle. It jumped with great fluency and it looks like Evan Williams has finally worked out what this horse needs, which appear to be fast ground and making all. Evan is one of the leading Trainers during this Summer season and is sending out winners on a regular basis. This horse can add to that impressive record. Christian Williams is again in the saddle and the 2 have a great record together this year of 11/39 (28%). There lsp is also a very nice +£16.08. A repeat showing tonight of what it did Wednesday will see this one win well. I expect that. Todays best bet. (Nap) 345 Carlisle: GIFTED FLAME has good course form of 1,6,4,4,1,6,2,1 of which a 2nd & a 1st are over Todays trip of 7f. It was a good 2nd place lto over this cd in a time 2 seconds faster than standard. With Redwood Rocks & Attacca liable to set a blistering pace the race should be run perfectly for Gifted Flame. (Win) 440 Warwick: GIMASHA took 6 races to finally get the winning feeling but when it did it absolutely bolted up by 7ls from Hewaraat. It runs in this handicap of a decent enough mark of 73 and with its confidence boosted by that win I think it can follow up in style. (Win) Night Racing: 705 Pontefract: WITHOUT A TRACE is improving fast and looks worth following till its beaten to me. It won its Maiden by 5ls before beating Velvet Waters on its last start by a cosy 4ls in a Classified race. It carries a 6lb penalty for Todays race but its revised mark of 74 against these rivals looks a mark its well capable of winning of. Martin Dwyer who rode it to victory last time out is again in the saddle today. (Win) 730 Newmarket: FIRENZE is 2/4 in its career so far and there was no doubting that it was very impressive lto when skating up by 4ls from Coconut Squeek a horse who itself won well on its next start. Its raised a rather steep looking 12lbs but I expect it to handle that rise in its stride. After all its a full sister to Frizzante a top class sprinter and the stable have said on more than one occassion in reports that they hope for big things from this horse. That seems to be beared out by the fact that its entered in the Stewards Cup @ Goodwood @ the end of the month. Its 25/1 in most places for that race but that price could crash if it puts up the performance today that the Fanshawe team expect. (Nb) 850 Hamilton: TANNENBERG was given a very tender ride lto when 3rd behind Political Intrigue. All sorts of excuses were given for that run to the Stewards ranging from saying the horse was big and green and needed holding together to its heart was thumping due to a calcium imbalance. It could all be true but to the naked eye it looked suspect. Having only its 6th start Today after seeing that it definately has a race or three in it and where better to start than Today on its handicap debut of a lenient mark of 66. The RP go 13/2 that might not last so Ill be taking the earliest price I can get. (Win) A few clues there hopefully to mix and match a few for those who like to do there multi bets. Ill be doing an each way 8 timer and have me fingers crossed. All the best Tankyman

Re: Tankys Tips Yesterday went well with 5 winners from 8 for a healthy profit but still a case of the ones that got away. 250 Newbury: ACE OF HEARTS comes here in the form of its life and with conditions perfect will take a lot of beating. All its turf victories have come on fast ground and Today the ground will be spot on unless the heavens open. A good if narrow winner of a valuable handicap lto expect to see Ace of Hearts played late but with devastating effect under Johnny Murtagh. (Win) 305 Newmarket: MACAULEY ran an eyecatching debut towards the back end of its 2 year old season on the AW but the experience it got there proved invaluable because when it made its seasonnal reappearance and only its 2nd start it took everything in its stride. It always travelled well through the race, quickened up when asked and soon put the race beyond doubt in a matter of strides to come home by an easy 4ls. The 3rd in that race Aiguille & the 8th Lindbergh have boosted the form by winning races since. Macauley is very well bred and a big future is anticipated for it. It steps upto 8f here but on breeding that looks ideal. I like the look of this horse and will be playing my nap on it. (Nap) 515 Newmarket: EL REY DEL MAMBO won its Maiden well @ the 3rd time of asking from a fair sort in Dr Zalo. It was then upped in trip to 7f where it produced a very eyecatching and much improved showing when 4th to Walkonthewildside beaten just 2ls. Its finishing position is a bit misleading because it had no run what so ever there and the gap didnt appear till far to late. If it had got out earlier Ive no doubt that it would have won there it was travelling that well. With a few in this race who like to force the pace there hopefully shouldnt be the traffic problems and Shane Kelly can steer a clear path. If it reproduces that last run but with no major traffic problems in this field against these rivals this race is as good as won. (Nb) 810 Haydock: SILVERTOWN comes here in decent form and although tackling 16f on the flat for the first time looks a strong contender with conditions perfect and with its rivals having plenty to prove. Paul Hanagan & Lenny Lungo have a decent strike rate together of 9/58 (16%), its slightly better this year with 2/8 (25%). This 10 year old might not be getting any younger but this race should be run to suit it and is worth a small wager. (Win) 910 Haydock: MOUNT HILLABY only went down in a head bobbing finish behind Boo in a race run in a fest time earlier this week. Boo the winner & Anthemion 8th both won Yesterday to make that form look solid. The same trip and same fast conditions make this race look a great chance to get back to winning ways running of the same mark as that last run. A big bonus is that Robert Winston takes over in the saddle and he is riding at the top of his game right now. Its a long wait till 910 but one thats worth waiting for. (Win) All the best Tankyman

Re: Tankys Tips 230 Curragh: AUSSIE RULES impressed Me on its debut and looks capable of going all the way to the top. It was an effortless winner by over 2ls on its debut from Alethia. THe 8th home has won since to give the race credibility. It steps up here into Group 3 company but can take this on its way to its seasonnal target of the Group 2 Gimcrack Stakes @ York in August. Entered in next years Derby the Ballydoyle boys have big hopes for this smartly bred sort and with stablemate Amigoni in the field to ensure that theres no hanging around expect the Aussie to sit handy and the quicken like a good thing when Fallon lets the piece of elastic lose. A very exciting looking horse and should kick the day of in winning style. (Nb) 300 Newton Abbot: DAWTON has its 3rd start as a Chaser Today and it will be either bad luck or bad placing if it comes up against another potential good thing Today. Firstly it was beaten by Perouse (Fav for Todays big race) and then on its last start it bumped into Perth specialist Kidz Play who has won again to give the form a solid look. With course form here albeit it in a hurdle race Dawton can make it 3rd time lucky here. (Win) 340 Stratford: CHARLIES DOUBLE has been in fine form this summer with 3 wins & a 2nd place in its 4 starts since the beginning of May. It won with consumate ease round this cd on its penultimate start and then did well to follow up just 2 days later over a longer trip and under a 7lb penalty. That race probably came too soon for it but it battled well and never looked like losing. Sensibly its been given a months rest to recharge its batteries and that patience can be rewarded here. Conditions should be perfect and with D.Crosse its regular pilot again on board (3/6 on it 50%) it shouldnt lack assistance from the saddle. His 3lb allowance is also an added bonus. (Win) 400 Newton Abbot: LATIN QUEEN is easily the pick on ratings of those with an official rating so far and of the rest its well clear on performance so far. Potentially a class above these it wont be found many easier chances to add to its decent record. It has good course form here when hacking up over 19f. It drops back to 17f Today but that shouldnt be a problem as it has some smart form at that trip against far superior rivals to these. Chris Honour takes of a valuable 5lb and if He steers it round in tact then I cant see anything troubling it. My strongest nap for a while and hopefully a winning one. No excuses here if it doesnt win. (*Nap*) All the best Tankyman

Re: Tankys Tips Cheers Pete: 245 Ayr: CURTAIL might still be a Maiden after 4 starts but theres no doubt in My mind that it has the ability to take this race. Its best performance to date was on its penultimate start when having its first run over 6f it only failed by a neck to turn over Assertive. Assertive won nto in a Listed race, the 3rd home Johnny The Fish has bolted up since, 8th placed Close To You is 2/2 since and looks impressive & the 8th home Norman Beckett has also won a little egg and spoon race since. All boosting the form and making it look rock solid. They thought they could get away with dropping Curtail back to 5f @ York but it met a horse that hit its peak that day in Triskaidekaphobia. The 5th home there Skhilling Spirit has trotted up by 5ls since. With the Ed McMahon yard firing on all cylinders now after a slow start (had a double on Saturday) with 6 winners in the last 14 days combined with the step back upto 6f Curtail looks a rock solid bet to Me. (Nb) 415 Ayr: IMPERIAL STRIDE is a decent sort who has taken on a new lease of life since its been stepped upto Middle distances. It easily accounted for Mullins Bay a horse that then took apart the John Smiths Cup field on its next start from a poor draw. Helm Bank who was well behind has also won a race since to boost form. Imperial Stride then annihilated a small select field in a Listed race by 17ls from a fair yard stick in Albinus despite being eased down a long way from home. With another small field against it Today it should again have things all its own way. Its other 3 rivals have questions over there form to answer and with Imperial Stride having an upwards profile its a confident pick as My bet of the day. (Nap) 805 Beverley: DICKENSIAN impressed Me with its battling qualities when getting the better of a tight 3 way finish from Mutawajiid & Romantic Evening both easy winners since. It was a long way back to the rest there and all 3 look potentially smart. Godolphin have had a stop start season so far but there are signs that they are about to hit top gear once more. They have had 3 winners & 4 placed horses from there last 10 runners. Kerrin McEvoy a potential champion jockey in the future again rides and His record for the boys in blue is admirable with 11/53 (20%) & a lsp of +£31 so far this year. Dickensian is bound to have learned plenty from that race and can take the step up in class here in its stride. I dont even think its a step up in quality of opponents myself as Arabian Sea has yet to prove itself. Admittedly it was 6th in The Chesham but the form of that race so far counts for nothing as every horse to have run since from that race have been well beaten. Dickensian can keep the Godolphin bandwagon rolling here. (Win) 825 Windsor: PONT NEUF had no real chance at the weights when 3rd to Rocket Force 11 days ago but did show enough there to suggest that its well up to winning a tin pot Seller like this in style. The horses it faces Today are rated between 8 & 33lbs inferior on official ratings and also come here struggling for form. Pont Neuf has cd winning form here and with David Evans & Jamie Spencer both amongst the winners regularly it wont lack from either department here. Spencer & Evans have a good record together over the last 5 years of 11/62 (17%) +£34. This season its been a s good as ever with 9/46 (19%) and a lsp of over £27. (Win) Lets hope that they bring home a nice return. All the best Tankyman

Re: Tankys Tips 200 Yarmouth: NEW ART made an interesting debut @ Sandown over 5f when 6th to Cape of Luck. Its final position didnt reflect the promise that it showed there after it missed the start from the worst of the draw in stall 1. It was given a lesson in racing that day by Ted Durcan who learned it plenty there passing a few horses before letting it come home in its own time when it was apparent that there was to much ground to make up. With the Noseda horses still showing good form it can show up a lot better Today. Place prospects at worst. (Ew) 330 Yarmouth: BANJO PATTERSON geoff huffer claims that this is the best horse that it has in training at the moment. Given an eye opener on its debut it then improved by a proverbial mile when a ready winner from bens Georgie. That improvement was just a fore taste for even better on its next start when it wiped the floor of level weights with horses rated between 7 & 9lb its superior. There was no fluke about that and it did it in the style of a rapidly improving horse. It enters handicap company Today but of a mark of just 77 (including its penalty) that mark looks very lenient and when reassessed its new mark will be more like 87 to 90. The step up in trip to 7f on breeding is also very much in its favour. (Nb) 400 Yarmouth: SQUAW DANCE is unopposable here after coming back to form lto. This Listed race winner beat The Lupe winner Something Exciting but took a bit of time to come to hand this year albeit in top class company. Lto it finished a 1l 3rd behind a good yard stick in Bon Nuit form that would win this race easily. Rated 102 on the official ratings it meets its rivals here with between 17 & 34lb in hand. It wont be a huge price but there was some 1.5 available on Betfair and for Me this will be a big big wager. (Super Nap time) 445 Ayr: NEVERLETME GO finished well to get the better of Bonne De Fleur over 5f lto and can confirm placings despite being 2lb worse of with the step up to 6f looking ideal for it. Neverletme Go has an upwards profile and the Wragg team come here in fine form with 3 winners & 2 places from there 5 runners over the last fortnight. Steve Drowne takes the ride and has a decent record for Wragg of 8/49 (16%) over the last 5 years. The lsp of +£25 is also very nice. Both can be improved here. (Win) 515 Ayr: ARNIPRIOR now its finally got its head in front in its 7th start which was also its first start over 8f there could be plenty more to come from this horse with that confidence boost. It has a slight tendency to hang left but being drawn in 10 Joe Fanning should be able to either get cover or bag the rail. Fanning took the ride for the 1st time lto when it won and retains the ride today. With the horse appearing to learn plenty there I think it can follow up of its low mark. Re: Tankys Tips lol at Gaz Good luck Guys: Last few weeks have been like a roller coaster ride on the betting front... 210 Worcester: ROMANY PRINCE is the one horse in this race that comes here at the top of its game. It produced its best showing to date lto when easily brushing aside Stagecoach Diamond by 8ls over 22f. It always travelled well in that race and the result was never in doubt. From its 8 starts to date Romany Prince has won 2 & been placed 4 times so is consistant. Wins at 17 & 22f show also that this intermediate trip of 20f should be ideal. Tom Scudamore who won on it lto is again in the saddle. With ifs and buts about the race Romany Prince looks upto giving weight and a beating to its rivals here. (Win) 320 Catterick: WICKED UNCLE without a doubt its best performance came on its only ever start here when a very easy 4l winner in a fast time of a mark of 73 from Brigadier Monty. Its fair to say that its struggled since then to show up of its higher mark of 84 but the handicapper has now started to cut it some slack dropping its handicap mark to 75 (Its won of 78 before). Well drawn Today in 2 and with Rob Winston reunited with it for the 1st time since 2001. Winston did well in the past with form figures of 1,3 & 2 on it from his 3 rides. With the visor put back on to sharpen it up after being left of for its last 2 starts this one has the look of a horse thats been prepared for a certain task. Quoted at 7/1 in the RP Im hoping that Today is the target they have in mind. (EWay) 350 Catterick: RUDI'S PET might be 11 but showed lto in handicap company of a mark of 74 that there are a few more races to be won with it. The drop into Claiming company Today gives it a guilt edged chance to follow up in a race that only a couple should be big players under Todays conditions and weights. The out of form Absent Friends is actually the pick of the weights but needs to show more before it could be backed confidently. Its poor draw completely put s me off that one. Rudis Pet on the other hand is well drawn here. If theres pace to the race it will sit handy and if there is none it will be equally as comfortable making the running. Whatever happens early Rudis Pet will be there at the furlong pole and will take a lot of pegging back. I dont think on Todays terms that any of these can. This looks like another sprint winner for the Dandy Nicholls yard and on a hard looking day will carry my largest bet. (Nap) 430 Lingfield: SIR MONTY has been improving gradually with racing and lto produced its best performance to date when 4th of 20 from a very poor draw behind the decent Oakley Absolute. If it hadnt had to work so hard to get to the front from its draw out in the car park it could have easily produced a better finish than it did. The form has been boosted with the 2nd Nanton, 6th Mickehaha, 7th Germanicus & 11th home Irish Ballad all winning nto. Many others have come out that hot race and run creditably without quiet getting there heads in front. The handicapper for once has been kind and actually dropped this horse 2lb for that showing. With a small field here Sir Monty can trap out and will take some pulling back by some average looking opponents. (Nb) All the best Tankyman

Re: Tankys Tips My night fancies to very small stakes: 625 Leicester: FIGJAM ran its best race to date lto when beating Tin & Lint by a head. There looked every chance there that there was more to come from this one. Blue Minx who was 4th there has finished a close 2nd since. It reopposes under the same conditions though and should struggle to revise places. John Best has been amongst the winners lately and Tom Queally keep the ride after winning on it lto. (Win) 745 Sandown: WORLD SERIES despite not having the easiest of passageways lto it still came through to win cosily from a couple of decent looking rivals in Arous & Danger Zone in a fast time. Danger Zone has in fact already won on its next start to boost the form. Jamie Spencer & Phil Mitchell are a rare partnership. 1/3 in 5 years. The fact that He again gets the leg up on this horse is a big plus. (Win) 815 Sandown: MARIAS MAGIC could easily get the run of the race here and appeals to Me most despite it tackling 14f for the 1st time. Kevin Darley can dictate from the front and against these rivals take some passing for the in form Mark Johnson yard. (Win) All the best Tankyman

Re: Tankys Tips Cheers Guys.. 315 Sandown: VAGUE ran on well to take 2nd place behind stablemate La Chunga in the Group 3 Albany Stakes over 6f. Trainer Jeremy Noseda said that it would need 7f to show its true colours so it was no surprise that Vague was taken of its feet early on there in such a fast run race. As the race progressed though Vague started to show its true colours and picked up well in the later stages to finish in eyecatching style. Stepped upto 7f Today this horse will take some stopping with Mick Kinaine again in the saddle. (Nb) 500 Sandown: MACABRE comes here with the best form of any with experience after finishing a close 2nd behind David Junior despite looking in need of the race. A repeat showing of that would easily take this imo. David Junior went on to run in the 2000 Guineas and has since won 2 Listed races. Dart Along who was well behind in last place has also won its Maiden since. Macarbe has been doing plenty on the gallops and it will be a big shock to the boys in blue if its not another winner for the gradually coming back to form Godolphin team. (Nap) 510 Bath: MICHAELS PRIDE is back against its own age group Today after just failing to see out 11f against older horses. Michaels Pride looks a 10f specialist to me and has form figures to back that up of 2,1,3,1,1. Thats impressive but when you realise that the 2 defeats could have been victories but for the lack of a stronger jockey in the saddle. Greg Fairley (5lb claimer) rode the 2 defeats at this distance. Darley twice and Dettori have helped the horse get its head in front with there stronger tactics. Darley rides again Today, trip, draw, going all ideal and can get back to winning ways Today.
