2.35 Ayr The Silver Cup over 6f and a wide-open contest as usual. Richard Fahey has been mopping up the Saturday handicaps and will be fancied to go in here with the improving inform George Bowen. He won at Newmarket in August and has followed up at the Curragh since and his 5lb penalty gets him in here. I like the yards other runner Tatlisu who was 8th in this last year and ran well at Ripon recently, he looks sure to be in the shake up in this company along with the likes of Eccleston and Barnet Fair who is due a big run from the Dandy Nicholls stable who does so well in these big sprints. Selection: Tatlisu 20/1 Bet365

N4.25 Duke Cosimo 18/1 William Hill This horse has won 4 of its 16 races including some really competitive big field sprints at Ripon and Doncaster. The latter of those wins was off a mark of 83 and the horse races off 80 here today. All the horses wins have come at todays distance and can bounce back after a poor effort last time out.

Ayr 3.45 - Glory Awaits - win at 40/1 bog wm hill Gold cup - devilish sprint handicap ! My selection was 2nd to Dawn Approach in the 2000 Gns a couple of years ago and has run in Group and Listed races ever since, winning a Listed race at Chester and a group 2 in Turkey It's a bit of a leap of faith to think he might win at 6F having not run over the trip for 3 years since his 2yo days but he's pretty speedily bred and the likely frantic pace here might suit a horse that stays a bit further Even though his career has been disappointing and he seems to have been a lucky plcer in a Classic in hindsight, he obviously has a touch of class

2.15 Newbury: Mill Reef Stakes (Group 2), 6f Wide open renewal, which lacks a real stand-out performer. I feel, though, rapidly improving King Robert is overpriced. He did a lot of good things in his two starts, overcoming all sorts of trouble. On his debut, when checked and short of room, he was brave and tough. He didn't have a smooth run the next at Chester either. But he managed to win both times and found another gear when it mattered most. Whether he is up to Group 2 level is in question We'll find out today. Certainly he'll appreciate the slow ground, as I fear on a faster surface he'd be probably quickly outpaced. But he acts fine on softish ground and seems a rather big price in this field. King Robert @ 8/1 Paddy Power - 5pts Win

Later;

1730 ayr - uriah heep 40/1 b365
5.30 AYR KASHMIR PEAK @ 12/1 Stan James This one ran well after 6 months off last time and that run should put him spot on for today. That was over 1m 4f and he was staying on well. Having won over hurdles this step up to 1m 5f should suit for a stable that does well with its older horses at this time of year.
