lukeleeds91
Re: Sky Bet Championhip > October 3rd - 5th Perhaps a little bit of heart over head here but I think the Leeds vs Sheff Weds game has been priced incorrectly. They have a good away record but we haven't been that bad at home - beaten Middlesbrough, Bolton and Huddersfield to nil, plus we've taken 10 points from the last 15. We're 3-1-1 at home and they're 3-1-1 away, but we've only conceded twice at home - in the same game. I think Leeds are pretty decent value here. I'd expect Blackburn to beat Huddersfield but the bet here has to be on goals, Blackburn games have seen an average of 3.4 GPG, Huddersfields 3.2. Blackburn aren't the most reliable of teams with a home record of 2-2-1, but Huddersfield have lost every Saturday away game so far, and Jordan Rhodes will be out to pile the misery on his former club. Home win + over 2.5 for me. Charlton look good value to beat Birmingham @ just over evens, despite Brum picking up an impressive away win at Millwall on Tuesday. Charlton are unbeaten so far after many predicted them to struggle, Birmingham hanging just above the drop zone. Expected Charlton to be odds-on for i'm taking this. Derby have got to be the banker bet in this division this weekend. Look like they're hitting their stride now, 12 points out of 18 and only 1 defeat all season. Millwall have slumped after a decent start and are 1-1-3 away from home - the 3 defeats coming on their last 3 travels. 1) Leeds to beat Sheffield Wednesday - 19/10 2) Blackburn to beat Huddersfield & Over 2.5 goals - 7/2 3) Charlton to beat Birmingham - 21/20 4) Derby to beat Millwall - 8/15 All odds on Skybet. Accumulator pays a very attractive 40/1.

[/quote'] Have to agree with your call on the Charlton v Birmingham game. Was very surprised to see Charlton at odds against, especially so after their win at Norwich midweek. I think the bookmakers have priced this game up wrong as I make Charlton around the 4/5 or 8/11 mark. Not sure about your call on Leeds, possibly hard ruling head. Looks like a draw to me that one. kevshat
Re: Sky Bet Championhip > October 3rd - 5th Friday preview: 4pts Cardiff to beat Blackpool 13/10 BetVictor It hasn’t been a great start to the season for Cardiff but they’ve only lost one of their last four matches so things are starting to turn for them and given who Blackpool are without in this match this looks a good opportunity for the visitors to pick up another much needed win. They have enough good players in their ranks to win this game and the addition of Ravel Morrison only strengthens that so it is the visitors for me here. kevshat
Re: Sky Bet Championhip > October 3rd - 5th 3pts Sheffield Wednesday to beat Leeds 13/8 Betfred Leeds are still looking for their first goal under Milanic let alone their first win. They may get that goal here but I think they’ll be waiting a bit longer for their first win. Sheffield Wednesday were going along ok until they ran into a Manchester City juggernaut but the draw with Ipswich in midweek was creditable and with Leeds’ new manager still finding his way I think Stuart Gray’s men can leave Elland Road with all 3pts. wisey10
Re: Sky Bet Championhip > October 3rd - 5th Watford +0 (AH) v Brighton @ 1.875 Bet365 (6 Points) Im really not quite sure why Brighton are getting priced up so short here. Watford are unbeaten at home so far, winning 4/5 matches. Admittedly most of those games were against bottom half sides but you can only beat what's in front of you and it's still not an easy task. And more to the point Brighton themselves are currently a bottom half side. The Seagulls don't have a great record on the road with 3 losses from 5 and just 1 win at Leeds. Brighton haven't actually won in the league for 7 games now and goal scoring is a problem for them. They still seem to be getting a lot of respect in the market because they control a lot of possession at times and are creating chances. That is something that should be taken into account but in my opinion too much respect is being given to them. Where do you draw the line? If they haven't won in their last 6 matches and have failed to score in 3 of those games do they really deserve that respect? Watford are still missing Deeney which is a big blow but Vydra looks to be finding his scoring boots now and they have good options. After a turbulent start on the manager front McKinlay has now been appointed permanently and yu would think that would help to add stability to the ranks. It is in fact amazing to look at how well the Hornets have been doing considering the managerial merry go round they have had already. Ultimately, I think Brighton are getting way too much respect here and the handicap is giving them an almost equal chance as the home side. When you take into accounts Watford's excellent home record they look a great bet with the draw no bet cover in place.
AF13
Re: Sky Bet Championhip > October 3rd - 5th BLACKPOOL – CARDIFF Draw at 3.45 @ Marathonbet An interesting game is going to be played today at Blackpool’s field. The host team has collected only three points at its 10 last games for Championship, with the three draws at its last five matches. Cardiff, on the other hand, has combined with draws its last three games for the championship. In addition, a glance at the history of the fixture is showing us that half of the last ten games (5/10) are without a winner. Having cited all this data, it is easy to understand that my choice for this match is a draw, taking also into account the high value of the odd (3.45). Alexc
Re: Sky Bet Championhip > October 3rd - 5th Just a couple of things. Regarding the first poster and his acca, you can't say, imo anyway, that Huddersfield have averaged x amount of goals, as their now coach has only been in charge of two away games. Those games ended 3-0 and 1-3, but still. Also wouldn't do an acca that has four sides in the same division. The way to go with an acca is to pick a absolute maximum of two sides in any one league but even then it's pushing it. Again, that's my personal preference, but I think it is tough enough picking a bunch of results, let alone more than one in any given league. Regards Charlton, their win against Norwich had to be the most undeserved I've seen in a while. Have a look at the Youtube highlights. It looked to me like Charlton crossed the half way line once the entire match, and Norwich should have scored several times. So perhaps that has to be taken in to account. After going 18 games without a win away to Blackpool (1969 to 2002), the Bluebirds are unbeaten in their last five at Bloomfield Road (W2 D3). Blackpool have lost eight and drawn three of their last 11 fixtures in league competition. Defender Matthew Connolly has scored two goals in two appearances against the Seasiders for Cardiff. Kenwyne Jones has netted five league goals in 10 games this season; the same total has his previous three seasons combined. Ishmael Miller's strike against Middlesbrough in midweek was Blackpool's first goal in the first half in seven attempts. Leeds V Sheff Wed Leeds have won four of their last six home fixtures against Sheffield Wednesday (D1 L1). Sheffield Wednesday have scored in each of their last five against Leeds, after scoring just once in their previous six against them. The Whites have kept a clean sheet in each of their last three at Elland Road. They've not kept four home shutouts in a row since April 2009. Leeds have fired in a league-low 27 shots on target so far in 2014/15, three fewer than their tally after 10 games last term. The Owls have yet to concede a goal in the opening 30 minutes this season. Indeed, no side has shipped fewer first half goals (2). Blackburn V Huddersfield Blackburn Rovers have won five and drawn two of their last seven against Huddersfield Town. Huddersfield have failed to find the back of the net in each of their last four trips to Ewood Park. Jordan Rhodes has scored five goals in four appearances against Huddersfield since leaving to join Blackburn. The Terriers have won back to back league games for the first time since December 2013 (a run of three wins). Both teams have scored in each Blackburn's last six games at Ewood Park with 27 goals being netted in the process. Since the start of last season, Craig Conway has provided five more assists than any other player in the division (19 - 16 for Blackburn & 3 for Brighton). Bolton V Bournemouth Bolton have netted exactly twice in each of their last three against Bournemouth (W2 D1). Bournemouth have avoided defeat in their last three trips to Bolton (W1 D2). The Trotters have afforded their opponents 61 shots on target so far this season, nine more than any other team. Bournemouth (7) have scored more times from the penalty spot in 2014 than any other Championship side. The Cherries have kept just one clean sheet in their last eight Championship games. Bolton have gone six games without scoring a first half goal. They also failed to score in the second half in five of those matches. Brentford V Reading Brentford have gone seven games without keeping a clean sheet against Reading (W1 D2 L4). Reading have conceded exactly one goal in each of their last seven games away vs Brentford. No player has attempted more shots without actually scoring this season than Brentford's Alan Judge (23). Reading converted 17.3% of their shots to goals this season, which is considerably higher than their opponents Brentford (10.5%). Reading have failed to score in three of their last four away fixtures, losing twice (W1 D1). Charlton V Birmingham Charlton have won just once in their last six league encounters with Birmingham City (D3 L2). The home side has failed to win any of the last five clashes between Charlton and Birmingham. David Cotterill has scored in consecutive games for the first time since November 2012. The Blues winger has also created 36 goalscoring chances for his teammates this season, three more than any other player in the division. Birmingham City have dropped a league-high 11 points from leading positions this season. Charlton have conceded 78% of their goals in the second half this term, the highest proportion in the league. Derby V Millwall Derby's 5-1 victory over Millwall in September 2013 was their joint-biggest victory against them. Milllwall have failed to score in four of their last five away to Derby, thought they netted in their most recent outing last March (1-0). Derby midfielder Craig Bryson has netted four goals in six appearances versus Millwall, against no side has scored more. Four of the five of the goalscoring chances Johnny Russell has created this season have been converted by his team-mates. Millwall are winless in their last four on the road, losing the last three (D1). Derby County right-back Cyrus Christie has provided more assists than any other defender this season (4). Middlesbrough V Fulham Middlesbrough have failed to score in their last two versus Fulham; they've never gone three without a goal. Fulham are winless in their last 11 away to Middlesbrough, losing eight and drawing three. Since the turn of the year, Middlesbrough (15) have kept more clean sheets than any other Championship team. Fulham defender Tim Hoogland is the Championship's top scoring defender so far this term with four goals. Since the start of last season, Ross McCormack has been directly involved in more Championship goals than any other player, scoring 30 and assisting 10. Norwich V Rotherham Norwich have gone seven games unbeaten against Rotherham United, though five of those have been draws (W2). Rotherham have failed to win any of their last six away to Norwich, losing three (D3). Norwich have recovered a league-high 10 points from trailing positions this season. The Millers have kept just one clean sheet in their last nine away games. The Canaries have scored six times from outside the area in open play in 2014/15, the most in the division. Watford V Brighton Watford have scored in nine of their last 10 league encounters with Brighton. Brighton have bagged just five goals in their last eight away games at Watford and never more than once in this run. Watford have lost only one of their last 15 games at Vicarage Road, winning 11 (D3). In that 15 game run, Troy Deeney has bagged 12 goals, eight more than any other player. There have been five penalties taken in the last five league games involving Watford, with three being awarded to their opponents. Since the start of last season, Brighton (8) have drawn more games nil-nil than any other side (excl. play-offs). Watford have been shown nine red cards in 2014, two more than any other team. Wolves V Wigan Wolves have never kept a clean sheet at home to Wigan. Wigan have won four of their last five matches against Wolves, losing the other. Wolves' midweek defeat to Huddersfield was their first on home soil in 17 games. The Latics have failed to win any of their last six away fixtures (excl. play-offs), losing five. Wolves (6) have conceded as many goals in their last two games as they managed in their previous 996 minutes of league football. Nottm Forest v Ipswich Nottingham Forest have won five and drawn four of their last nine at home to Ipswich Town. The Tractor Boys have failed to find the back of the net in four of their last five trips to the City Ground. Forest have kept a league-high six clean sheets in 2014/15, twice as many as opponents Ipswich (3). Ipswich have conceded in each of their last seven on the road, winning only once (D3 L3). Nottingham Forest have drawn their last three games nil-nil, they've never recorded four goalless draws in a row.
Alexc
Re: Sky Bet Championhip > October 3rd - 5th I would look at taking Rotherham on in some way tomorrow. We (Norwich) have struggled at home so far. We beat Watford 3-0, but they had a man sent off after a few minutes. Also the goals we scored were all brilliant long rangers. Against Blackburn it took an Andy Johnson stunner a few minutes from the end, and are other results are Bournemouth 1-1, Birmingham 2-2 and Charlton 0-1. Hopefully we'll sort the home form out soon, but I think we'll have problems tomorrow.
Feduloff
Re: Sky Bet Championhip > October 3rd - 5th Blackburn's list of absentees for Huddersfield's visit to Ewood Park on Saturday could include nine players. Midfielder Corry Evans will serve a one-match ban, while David Dunn (knee), Jason Lowe (ankle), Paul Robinson (knee) and Chris Brown (knee) are all out injured. Top scorer Rudy Gestede (hamstring), Tom Cairney (groin) and Alex Baptiste (calf) are all doubtful while full-back Tommy Spurr, who is yet to play this season because of a groin complaint, made his first 45-minute cameo for the Under-21s on Monday. They have won 7 of their last 10 at home, with three draws. Up against a Millwall team that has lost 3 away on the bounce . Home win looks ok ? ANy ideas or offerings accepted here ! I think Derby probably look the most solid, consistent side in the championship Neil and I think they will be promoted this year. They should win this game. But for me personally, a golden rule in the championship is to never take such short odds. It really is a league where anyone can beat anyone and you see short price favourites fail regularly. You just have to look in midweek. There were 2 sides priced around 1.50 which looked bankers. Middlesbrough and Charlton. Boro drew at home to Blackpool and Norwich lost at home to Charlton. Derby may well (and should) win today. But long term if you ate backing sides at these odds in the championship I think you will be a loser. If you are looking to back them why not consider taking them on the Asian handicap? They are -1 which means they need to win by two goals for your bet to win. But if they do win by just the 1 goal you still get your money back. You should get odds close to evens for this. It's not a bet I will be taking personally but if you are looking to back Derby in some way it's an option worth considering. Just my opinion for what it's worth. wisey10
Re: Sky Bet Championhip > October 3rd - 5th Nottm Forest vIpswich +0.5 @ 1.875 Bet365 (4 Points) Ive been backing Forest regularly because I think they have been underestimated slightly in the markets but I have also been keen to have draw cover on them. They are still unbeaten in the league this season and are proving very tough to beat. With this bet I'm taking though, I don't need Ipswich to beat them, just to draw. And Forest are struggling slightly just recently with 3 0-0 draws against bottom half sides. It's the lack of goals which is perhaps the worry. Ipswich however are in fine recent form, winning 4 out of their last 5 and drawing 1. They have lost just 1/5 away matches and really seem to be picking up momentum. The Tractor boys are just 2 points below Forest in the table and I think a +0.5 handicap on them is too generous. Forest should be -0.25 to my mind and as such Ipswich are good value to avoid defeat. I thought that might be your team. No worries and appreciate the reply.
allthethings
Re: Sky Bet Championhip > October 3rd - 5th I think Derby probably look the most solid, consistent side in the championship Neil and I think they will be promoted this year. I don't take low-priced favorites in this league either...all dogs to a favorite of under 2.0 this season are 9-13-27, meaning that the favorite has won 55% of the time so far. The dogs of over 6.0 are 2-3-3 so far...in my six-plus-year database, the dogs of 6.0 and up are 35-50-143 (the favorites win 63% of the time). But in a way, handicap bets are worse. 18 of the 49 matches this season have finished with the favorite winning you money (36%). At -1 you got nine pushes so far, meaning you win 45% of the time (18/40). And by the way, only 1 of the 7 matches with a dog of 6.0 or better would have won you money so far: Nottingham 2, Blackpool 0 in the first week. NoFear
Re: Sky Bet Championhip > October 3rd - 5th Norwich is my team :) Hope you laid off' date=' Blackburn letting you down :([/quote'] I didnt lay it (£500 worth). :cry Its fine though. I normally dont lay unless I am absolutely sure about the lay. I wasnt sure here and the price kept falling in my favor and I decided to ride it. You win some you lose some. Thanks anyways. Much appreciated.

AF13
Re: Sky Bet Championhip > October 3rd - 5th NOTTIGHAM FOREST – IPSWICH Under 2.5 at 1.85 @ Marathonbet An interesting game is that of Nottigham against Ipswich, which closes tha day 11 of this year’s Championship. The host team comes from a series of three draws and wants the victory, in order to retain its hope for immediate promotion to Premier League. Ipswich, on the other hand, is unbeaten at its last six Championship matches, having combined the 5/6 with Under 2.5. I think that we are going to watch a tight and tough game, with a denge at the ball possession and with a few chances for goal. The odd of 1.85 at Under 2.5, that gives Marathonbet, seems to me very attractive, as I have forgotten to refer that the three draws of Forest are all with 0-0 as final score.
