BBOTD Wednesday 26th February

3.30 - Bangor - Monetary Fund 1pt @ 3/1 BetVictor I was keen on Monetary Fund last time and although he fell, he was still going well and tomorrows race represents a much easier task than he has been used to. He’s been competing some of the most competitive 3m handicaps this season so this class 3, 6 runner race must represent a good opportunity to the 8yo. On the best of his form he looks well in off a mark of 127, having beaten by a head in a better race last year off a mark of 130. He hasn’t won for a while but while Venetia Williams can do no wrong i think he’s worth a bet despite the relatively short price. He’s been well backed in his most recent starts and i expect this to be the case tomorrow too.

Re: BBOTD Wednesday 26th February Kempton 6.20 - Sole Danser 20/1 William Hill EW BOG I would be lying if I said I was hugely confident about backing this horse because its one of those that will either run right up to his best form or finish dead last although I am hoping its the former! If he does run to his best after this lay off he has to be of huge interest in this largely moderate affair. On my ratings he is a few lb clear of the field and its interesting that last year he bounced right back to form on the AW after a shorter lay off. There are a couple of progressive sorts (Dutiful Son could be miles ahead of his mark & Daring Dragon is probably capable of more) and that is why I will go EW. As I mention, he may have his problems now but he is still only a 6yo and he does have conditions to suit tomorrow so if he is right, he shouldnt be too far away.

Re: BBOTD Wednesday 26th February Kempton 6:50 I think Rocky Elsom is an attractive price at around the 11/2 mark with Adam Kirby booked to ride the horse. He is a decent enough hurdler and although this is not his forte, he is down to a very appealing mark of 62. The only other time he ran in a handicap on the flat was over 1m2f here at Kempton off a mark of 75 and although he was 7th that day, he is now 13 pounds lower. He ran over 1m4f at Lingfield when last seen on the flat at the end of January and he ran a cracking race, a close 3rd to Gentlemax, trading as low as 2.22 in-running after going off at a Betfair SP of 11.08. That was also a Class 5 contest so tomorrow represents a drop in class into Class 6 company. So we have a good jockey booking, very attractive mark, decent run in higher grade last time out, lightly raced on the all-weather so I am hopeful. Rocky Elsom WIN @ 11/2 Bet Victor

Re: BBOTD Wednesday 26th February Backing Fav's never works for me soooo not sure why am tipping one, even more so what with the luck i've had in Jan and Feb, my head cant get any closer to the floor, things really have been bad. Anyway, Mr Hannon sends out just the two runners for Kempton, the richest race on the card is the second last with almost £12.000 to the winner, cant say am happy at the short price and taking into account the 4yr old hasn't been seen in 242 days, he's also holds a string of near miss efforts and has been a very frustrating animal to follow, however tonight he has not a bad horseman in the saddle who might just restore my confidence in this crazy sport they call.....Horse Racing. ?19:50 Kempton Pk - Emell. 1pt Win Bet @ 13/8 >Bet365 ''BOG''

Re: BBOTD Wednesday 26th February 2020 kempton 1pt win conry 10/3 bet365 i liked the way this gelding won on saturday, when he came away from the field and was eased down over the last furlong, not that confident that he can transfer to this track, but i quite like following winners who are turned out rather quickly,

Re: BBOTD Wednesday 26th February Wincanton 15.50 2m Class 3 Heavy Ground Fascino Rustico 15/8 Coral BOG Its not an easy race to be honest as 2nd fav Midnight Thunder is on Bottom weight progressive and Heavy ground specialist. But i still think Fascino Rustico has a lot of class, that will carry him trough is big scopy can carry the weight ran in a top class race the best by far 2nd LTO, with Vanituex, SGT Reckless, Amore Alato which is his class quality, but that was a on better ground than today. His last race was on very Heavy Ground in Wincanton and i was satisfied how he got trough it. I think tommorrow is not that heavy and if there would be an uphill it wouldnt be a bet for me. If Fascino Rustico travels that well it will win i feel also vs not 2 bad horses with Kell Haul and Midnight Thunder ( Heavy ground+ but to me more one for uphill Heavy 2m4f+ on looks). Edit: That field was very strong quality today and good i didnt have a bet, paddock observing all horses are capable of winning a Class 3 event in the future. Note this race down for form follow ups for the unplaced horse at good odds next time out. Very strong field.

Re: BBOTD Wednesday 26th February Kempton 7.50 - Emell (1pts win, 13/8 Bet365) A good little conditions stakes race at Kempton with the five runners all seemingly in with some chance but I've sided with Richard Hannon's Emell to land the spoils here. Emell had a strong season in 2013 finishing runner up in four races at listed level form that looks pretty strong here. Still only a four year old with scope for improvement and a repeat of those efforts from last year would give him a great chance here.

Re: BBOTD Wednesday 26th February 4.20 Wincanton - Gizzit 1pt win @ 14/1 Boylesports This horse has been running poorly of late but the majority of those runs have come over fences. Today he is back over hurdles and back on a winning mark of 92. That win actually came this time last year on soft ground at Warwick so I think a return to softer ground will help him a little as he has been running on good ground. Andrew Thornton isn't a jockey I particularly like but he has ridden this horse plenty of times in the past. Dorry K is very short here and I think the race is much more open than the betting would suggest.

Re: BBOTD Wednesday 26th February Lingfield 14:10 - Theredballoon 0.5 pts E/W @ 12/1 Pretty much 2 years since the last run and runs for a new yard but that is a typical pattern of David Elsworth who has a good record here. There are a lot of negatives for him for me, I don't normally bet on a horse out for so long, I don't normally bet on a horse wearing blinkers for the first time but this gelding had promise and has decent form over it's career. I think it's very likely to place so fingers crossed this is the start of the end oft bad run

Re: BBOTD Wednesday 26th February 350 Wincanton: Fascino Rustico 5/4 bet365 Was on this one last time when falling at the last when about to hack up, he seemed to jump ok but stumbled after the hurdle. His novice form is very good despite still being a maiden and this has left the handicapper with a problem and he gets in here off a mark of 126. i had him noted for a race at the weekend actually but this looks easier than that so have to follow him here.

Re: BBOTD Wednesday 26th February 5.20 KEMPTON BUSATTO @ 12/1 Betfred BOG .5ew Least exposed in the race and making hcap debut today. Won his maiden when upped to this trip so we may see further improvement today. Stable a little out of form but usually does well with this type of horse. Ran well at the track on debut and has improved with each race to date so could go close. Little worried about the price drift so will go ew.

Re: BBOTD Wednesday 26th February 6.20 kempton Dutiful Son 5/4 coral Ryan Moore comes to Kempton for three rides tonight. I think this is his best chance of a winner. This horse was last seen beating two subsequent winners. Travelled nicely in that race and lost a bit of momentum at a crucial point when had to be angled out to come home strongly. The horse still won by over a length but was value for a bit more than that. Of all the jockeys on show, Moore has the highest winning rides percentage at this track with a 22% success rate over the past 2 years and a 26% strike rate when riding for J. Noseda. Over the past 2 years Noseda has an 18% strike rate with runners at this track, more than any other trainer in the race. The yard looks to be in decent form this month. 11 runners of which 5 have won and 5 have placed. Anyway, getting back to the race, I really liked the way Dutiful Son won last time. I do like horses that finish races with a turn of foot that is different class. He beat Ex Ex off level weights, who then went on to beat Daring Dragon by 3L off level weights so Daring Dragon looks held, as it only gets a pound from Dutiful Son tonight. Rigoletto is an interesting horse and does rate a danger, along with Bajan Bear. Both are tightly matched on paper and are old rivals, having raced against each other 4 times. Rigoletto won on 3 of those occasions and won the most recent races they had in January 2014, however there was hardly anything in those races and there is a slight weight pull so it would be no surprise to see Bajan Bear overturn the form. I would expect these two to be within 2L of each other at the end of the race. I still think Dutiful Son holds them both though. Rigoletto had the run of the race last time, made all and dictated the race while Dutiful son had to check his run last time and Dutiful son still finished his race in a slightly quicker time. Both races were over C&D. It's worth mentioning that Rigoletto has a 7 pound claimer on board in Jack Garrity, who is probably value for his claim but if you look at his record at this track, in the past 2 years he has had only 10 rides at this track. No wins. Only one placed. He is up against extremely experienced jockeys here who know when to time it right at this track. I'm a big believer in jockeys winning and losing races. So with Dutiful Son holding his three main market rivals I look to the outsiders and assess their chances and they all look suspect, which makes Dutiful Son my selection today. 7.20 kempton - born in bombay 10/11 coral I'm not as confident about this horse winning as I am about Dutiful Son but I still think it rates as a decent bet. I'm taking a chance on this one. The horse ran green on debut last time and took a while to get the hang of things. Once Probert straightened the horse out and let the horse know what to do, it absolutely powered home and would have won the race in a few more strides. That was over 7f and it looks like this mile will suit. The Oval course has a nice 2 and a half furlong run in which will be more than enough time for Probert to get the maximum effort out of the horse and I feel this will be enough. The reasons I have slight reservations is that we have some potential improvers in the race but they looked all one paced in their last race, although they are largely lightly raced and are open to improvement. I am willing to take a chance on this one though because I really liked how it finished and I think a similar effort, without the greenness, will make this one difficult to beat today. Trainer is in decent form also. There is a newcomer here from the Hannon yard that looks a bit ominous but I'm still staying with my selection.

Re: BBOTD Wednesday 26th February 2.50 Wincanton - Prasina Russata - 1pt win 5/2 Ladbrokes BOG Not a lot on show today and I quite like David Pipe's runner in the 2.50. The gelding ran here at Wincanton two starts ago and still looked a bit green. Judging by that race the step up in trip should help and the appliance of a hood may encourage some improvement. The opening handicap mark of 102 may prove to be decent and there's not a lot of quality in this particular race for me. Pipe and Scudamore won this race last year as well.

Re: BBOTD Wednesday 26th February 5.00 Bangor - Fearless Tunes win 5/1 betvic 6L behind the last samurai in a ptp , both subsequently bought by McCain.last samurai placed in a bumper then won 3 over hurdles so looks a decent level of ptp. As mentioned cost 30,000 and had 9months with the yard so should be fit at home , McCain 9/44 in nhf here Sent from my Radar C110e using Tapatalk

Re: BBOTD Wednesday 26th February 6:20 Kempton: Stun Gun (12/1 Bet 365) 1pt Win All 3 career starts on the fibresand, winning the second run in a maiden. Then was slightly disappointing when sent off favourite last time out but didn't get the run of the race by any means and has been dropped one lb on the back of that performance. Has shaped is if a mile is possibly more suitable than the 7 furlongs he won over and goes back up to the mile trip tonight. Dale Swift (who was onboard for the win) is also back aboard tonight. Has to be a tad overpriced at 12s as he could prove to have a bit in hand of the handicapper.

Re: BBOTD Wednesday 26th February 20.20 Kempton: Hill Of Dreams, 8/1 Bet365, win Hill Of Dreams' last win was over c&d back in June last year. He has shown nothing since until lto. He finished a 1¾L fourth over c&d. He has been dropped another pound after that run and is now four pounds lower than his last win. Trainer Dean Ivory has a decent record at Kempton. The in form Robert Winston is in the saddle.

Re: BBOTD Wednesday 26th February Kemp 7.20 - Radebe - ew at 20/1 bog bet365 Fancy this one to put up a much better performance tonight on his 2nd start First run = green, got outpaced That was a decent maiden and the ones ahead of him who have run since have franked the form Up in trip tonight and the trainer is in form I think he might leave his debut run behind in a field with a few newcomers, a few no hopes and not many with a realistic chance
