Re: July 8 - July 14 Back Tommy Robredo to win ATP Bastad for a 1/10 stake at 7.50 with Bet365 The first half of the draw should come down to a contest between Berdych and Robredo and I simply have to fancy the Spaniard in that match-up, especially since Berdych will have to re-adjust to clay very quickly and that is something that I cannot really see him doing. With the second half of the draw filled with strong players, I feel that there is plenty of value in backing the arguably best clay court specialist in its first half. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/atp-bastad-betting-tommy-robredo-could-be-the-value-play-over-in-sweden-20130707 Back Martin Klizan to win ATP Stuttgart for a 0.5/10 stake at 41.00 with BetVictor Back Victor Hanescu to win ATP Stuttgart for a 0.5/10 stake at 34.00 with BetVictor The favourites have never done well in Stuttgart and I wouldn't be surprised by seeing that trend continuing for yet another year, so I am going to go with two long shots with minimal stakes. Both Klizan and Hanescu like faster clay courts and both have enough quality to win over anyone who is not going to try hard enough, so fancy them to go well at these massive odds. Re: July 8 - July 14 ATP Stuttgart R1 Marcel Granollers to bt Ernest Gulbis @2.87 Pinnacle (2/10) IMO odds in this match are severely influenced by the "celebrity" factor. There is absolutely no reason Gulbis should be that big fav, let alone on clay. Granollers in R1 of some obscure 250 clay tournament is no challenge at all for Gulbis, and his motivation to go deep here are IMO none. Without motivation, Gulbis is beatable even by my lame grandmother :-) H2H 2-2, with Marc winning last year's match on Winston Salem's hard court. Gulbis was well involved in grass tournaments (played 5 matches in Halle and Wimbledon), while Marc played only 1 grass match (lost to Gasquet in Wimbledon R1). Therefore I assume that clay back-swing is going to be easier for Marc. Marc played this tournament once two years ago, where he made it to QF (unexpectedly lost to Juan carlos Ferrero). Gulbis did not attend this tournament at all so far.

Re: July 8 - July 14 Loving the name of the tournament :D 2pts T.Robredo to win ATP Bastad 7.50 Bet365 1pts G.Dimitrov to win ATP Bastad 9.00 Bet365 Looking through the draw here I would say Robredo has a great chance too. He should get to the semi-finals no worries atall and would face an out-of-form Berdych who hasn't been playing well on any surface but most of all on the clay. Robredo has beaten all these players in the past and in the final he would face for me Dimitrov who I would hope feels he has something to prove all be it abit of a meaningless tournament. He should get to the quarters where he will face Monaco. If he can beat Monaco he would have the Verdasco/Almagro winner which is also winnable if he can serve well. 2pts G.Monfils to win ATP Stuttgart 9.00 Another who I see the draw opening up for. He can beat Mathieu and would face Mayer and then Kohlschreiber. Kohlschreiber hasn't been in the best of forms though and I think Monfils can move him around the court and beat him. He has beat him in the last 5 times they met. He would then possibly be up against Turusnov or Paire and Id fancy him there too. Nice value.

Re: July 8 - July 14 3 picks for today matches: ATP NEWPORT: PRZYSIESNY-4 GAMES HANDICAP TO DEFEAT KOZLOV @ 1.52 on pinnaclesports Should be an easy win for Michal Przysiesny who is a very good grass court player against a 15 y.o local boy with no results on an ATP level WTA PALERMO: ERRANI-COHEN UNDER 17 GAMES @ 1.5 on pinnaclesports Should be an easy win for the defending champion Errani playing at the tournament where she has always done well CHALLENGER SCHEVENINGEN: GHEM TO DEFEAT JUSKA @ 1.53 on william hill Juska is an indoor specialist and his game is not suited to clay very much. Ghem has been in good form lately.

Loving the name of the tournament :D 1pts G.Dimitrov to win ATP Bastad 9.00 Bet365 Looking through the draw here I would say Robredo has a great chance too. What worries me about Dimitrov is that Monaco is 3-0 in front on the H-2-H between the two. After that he'd play either Almagro,Who has great history here and has won the only meeting between the pair,Or Verdasco,Whom he has never played so I don't know what would happen there.I think not only will he have to work hard this week but he'll also need that extra bit of luck or something fortunate to go his way if he has to beat Monaco and Almagro in back-to-back matches.I was actually going to back Monaco when his price was above Dimi's but now it's dropped down below it slightly. I agree with you about Robredo and Monfils.Monfils big worry may be the first hurdle as Mathieu's had his number before,It should be interesting.

Re: July 8 - July 14 agree on Monaco hence the 1pt stake. Depends what Dimitrov turns up mate but looking at his first round match today, not the right one. He struggled today to beat a nobody really 2-1. Will have to see how that one pans out.

Re: July 8 - July 14 3pts S.Stakhovsky to beat J.L.Struff 2.00 Bet365 Struff, ranked 109th and this his favourite surface, however I don't see him winning here. He has gone out to some pretty average players this year on the clay and I think Stakhovsky's win against Federer on the grass would of done something for his confidence. If he brings that big serve here I think Struff is going to find it hard to break. He will also need to serve well himself and currently this year he has just a 53% first serve on the clay.

Re: July 8 - July 14 3pts V.Troicki to beat J.Souza 2-0 1.80 Bet365 I was expecting this to be around 1.57/1.66 so definite value for me. Troicki has been in some good form doing well in the French Open and also Wimbledon. He is easily good enough to dispatch Souza with little fuss. 2pts Garcia Lopez to beat J.Hajek 2-0 2.50 Bet365 Could be a close one. They have a 1-1 head to head and Hajek won this tie last year but looking at the score it could of been different [0-6 6-4 7-6] and I think this along with the recent form of both I really see Lopez winning this. I don't see any value in the outright win, so I will go for the 2-0 scoreline.

Re: July 8 - July 14 Back Andreas Vinciguerra Total Games - Over 7 for a 2/10 stake at 1.99 with Pinnacle Swedes have always done well in Bastad and this looks like a line that Vinciguerra could cover with his big serve and big hitting. Verdasco had a superb run in Wimbledon, but he might cool down a little bit now that it is over and I just cannot trust him to cover big handicaps right after the change of surfaces, especially since he will be up against a very determined opponent. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/vinciguerra-vs-verdasco-betting-the-local-hero-could-give-the-spaniard-a-good-run-for-his-money-20130709 Back Marcel Granollers to beat Ernests Gulbis for a 2/10 stake at 2.80 with BetVictor Much has already been said about Stuttgart and how often the big favourites lose over there, so I am more than happy to back Granollers at this price. He has what it takes to beat the Latvian on a clay court and there is the added bonus of Gulbis perhaps not being in the most focused frame of mind, so this price looks worth taking in my opinion. Re: July 8 - July 14 Prakash Amritraj to beat Flavio Cipolla @ 1.64 (Unibet) Since his comeback at the end of last year, Amritraj has had a couple of decent runs on the challenger circuit. Although he has had a couple of poor losses on the grass recently, he will have good memories of playing in Newport, having reached the quarter-final in 2007 and the final in 2008. However, this is as much a bet against Flavio Cipolla as it is one for Amritraj. The Italian has never gone past the 2nd round of a grass court tournament in his career and has only ever beaten one top 100 player on the surface - Potito Starace, who is as much at sea on grass as Cipolla. Cipolla has also only just arrived in the United States, having played in Germany on Sunday, so he can only have arrived yesterday at the very earliest, meaning fatigue and jetlag are likely to be a problem as well. While Amritraj is certainly not a great player, I am happy to take him to beat Cipolla here...

Re: July 8 - July 14 All 3 outrights look to be through to round 2. Stakhovsky was dire. Quite embarrassing how bad he was. Troicki and Garcia-Lopez though both win 2-0 and a decent start of +2.40pts

Re: July 8 - July 14 3pts I.Karlovic to beat R.Vasselin 3.00 Bet365 1pt I.Karlovic to win 2-0 5.00 Bet365 Karlovic will really be up for this. He tried to get into Wimbledon but they would not give him entry into it after he has had an injury and all he will want to do is start in winning ways. Vasselin is on some poor grass form and Karlovic's big serve I'm going to side with the 6ft 10 guy over the 6ft 2.

Re: July 8 - July 14 2pts L.Hewitt to beat M.Ebden -4.5 2.00 Bet365 I don't see this as much of a contest on the grass Hewitt has done more than enough to warrant winning this comfortable. I don't have time to look properly in to this but the price looks decent so I'm taking it

Re: July 8 - July 14 much like before no time to go too in depth but also liking Mahut here. 3.40pts N.Mahut -4.5 games 1.72 Bet365 Rankings mean nothing here. Mahut is far better grass player here and should win this 2-0. Most of the matches he does win are pretty straight forward and has beaten the likes of Malisse and Wawrinka in straight sets. So he doesn't tend to lose to weaker opposition.

Re: July 8 - July 14 @Fader. Love your posts man! I am wondering if the rain delay is going to affect Mahut at all? Up for the day but lost with Querrey, even though I should have known better, I am now a little weary on Mahut as I have him ML as the last leg of a parlay.... would love your thoughts!

Re: July 8 - July 14 I think Mahut will still win here 2-0 personally. These kind of games are normally very tight in set 1 and then the second set alittle easier for the stronger player. These 2 played only last month and the game ended "6-3 6-2" Mahut is the stronger player, on grass. I wouldn't go heavy on it though.

Re: July 8 - July 14 handicap covered and a winner. thread +16.85 Previews for tomorrow : 2.5pts T.Robredo to beat A.Ramos 2-0 1.80 Bet365 Both prefer the clay but Robredo is a much stronger player. The head-2-head reads 1-0 to Robredo, on clay, where he won in straight sets in 2011. He got to the QF of the French Open where he beat some top players such as Monfils, Sijsling & Almagro. Where as Ramos's recent work on the clay is going out to lowly ranked players. 2.5pts Under 19.5 games [H.Laaksonen Vs J.Monaco] 1.72 Bet365 I can't see Laaksonen testing Monaco on the clay. I went against Monaco at Wimbledon purely because on the grass he can be abit hit/miss on his returning but on the clay he is a much better player and will have more then enough against Laaksonen. Laaksonen isn't a bad player, he has done well in the Challenger events but this is beating players of a lower standard and for me Monaco who won Dusseldorf and has had some decent results under his belt on the clay will come through no worse than 6-4 / 6-3
