Re: Lucky 15 Thread - Cheltenham Nov Meet E/W Lucky 15 BetVictor C2.35 Nadiya De La Vega 14/1 - Whilst I'd happily admit that Grand Crus is the horse to beat, the 14/1 on this one against the 9/4 on GC looks to be the obvious e/w choice for a horse that won a 20 runner race on its only attempt over c&d. C3.05 Abnaki 7/1 - Course winner with a recent run and a good 7lb claimer on board U2.05 Sail and Return 12/1 - runs either really well or really badly but its one of only 2 c&d winners and can go close off a decent mark W2.25 Wyck Hill 4/1 - The form pick and should win if fit on its seasonal reappearance

Re: Lucky 15 Thread - Cheltenham Nov Meet EW Lucky 15 Stan James 1245: Mcvicar 8/1 155: Teaforthree 9/1 235: Grands Crus 9/4 305: Abnaki 8/1 The first race i like Mcvicar, has won twice already and has won on soft ground, sure to run his race. Teaforthree has won over 4m here so stamina is guaranteed, 10lb claimer on board gives him a chance at the weights and goes in soft ground. Cant fancy anything at a price against Grands Crus, he is a class act and will be surprised if he doesnt win impressively. Abnaki was 14/1 last night but still looks the one to be on now its gone soft, has no weight and has run well here in the past, looks sure to be placed at least.

Re: Lucky 15 Thread - Cheltenham Nov Meet King Fontaine~ Good run in Scottish national, shorter trip here will suit. Trainer does very well will with his horses at this track. Jumping can be a bit off at times but has gone well fresh in the past on a good mark now should run well at a big price. Divers~ Good run in this last year 6lb less tis time around good jockey (imo) booked, needed run lto decent e/w chance and 20/1 looks generous to me! Kayf Aramis~Long time since a win and handicapper doesnt to the horse a lot of favours but likes the track, decent on his day and trainer a expert at getting them ready for first run back. Kings Destiny~Dont think we seen the best of this horse over hurdles fav on all three runs and beaten in all. Was a good flat horse and you can be sure Trainer has worked hard with the horse over the winter may be a lot better this time around!

Re: Lucky 15 Thread - Cheltenham Nov Meet 1.55 Cheltenham - Viking Blond @ 10/1 (Bet365) Nigel Twiston-Davies' runner has been rock solid in the market which is a plus for a horse of this kind and if he builds on his recent 2nd here over hurdles then he could be well-handicapped today back over the larger obstacles. He lost his way after a promising start to his chasing career last campaign and you can argue he's running off a fair mark today on any of his first three runs over fences - including an impressive debut where he galloped and jumped relentlessly to score at Chepstow. The fact his form tailed off badly has helped his mark come down and it is something he's done before. In the 2010/11 season his first three runs saw him beaten 8l, 3l and 1 1/4l in hot hurdle races. However, after those runs he was beaten 57l, 18l and 73l. It may just be that he's a horse you need to catch early on in a campaign and that's why I'm getting involved today. He was an excellent 2nd of 20 here over hurdles recently, showing a return to form and the blinkers return today. He's a stout stayer who jumps well when he wants to and a positive ride from Sam Twiston-Davies could pay off I fancy in this competitive handicap. 2.35 Cheltenham - Grands Crus @ 9/4 (Bet365) Looks to be in off a very good mark here to me and the return to 2m4f around here is a positive in my book as well. Does stay 3 miles but has enough speed and jumping ability to make this trip at a testing track just about his optimum in a competitive heat. Took the scalp of some good horses last year and if it wasn't for his disappointing run at the festival he'd be so much shorter for this. Big chance and although a boring selection, should take some beating. 3.05 Cheltenham - Abnaki @ 8/1 (Bet365) A few of the runners towards the head of the market all competed in a race at Chepstow recently and although my selection here was 4th that day - and behind Buachaill Alainn, he shaped really well and suggested he'd come on for the run. It was extremely testing there as well so it was a good effort for a first run of the season. The better ground should be in his favour today and can build on a good win here over 3 miles back in April. He looks a strong stayer on that evidence so the extra yardage this afternoon can help as well. He is 9lbs higher for that 3l success but I don't think he does a huge amount in front either so it's plausible his effort can be marked up. He was right in contention at the Welsh venue last time until late on to go down by 5 1/4l (unthinkable he'd be unplaced even quite close to the line) and should be spot on for this now given three weeks or so to recover. Track form is a plus and he's in off a featherweight today with the very capable Maurice Linehan continuing to take off 7lbs. 3.40 Cheltenham - 2pts win Ifandbutwhynot 8/1 (Bet365) David O'Meara's charge was a smart horse in bumpers and has suggested he can go the same way over hurdles in two starts over obstacles to date. He is a horse who can flatter to deceive on occasion but this race should really suit him as a large field here are likely to go off pretty hard up front. My selection is a strong traveller who should move through the race well. Sometimes he hasn't found as much off the bridle as expected but the quicker they go, the better for him today, and he'll relish it if he has horses coming back on him. His first run over hurdles was run at a steady pace which saw him loom up before fading - a combination of it being his first run for a while and the fact the race wasn't run to suit being the likely reasons for his disappointment. However, the race he won last time was well and truly franked by the runner-up hacking up yesterday by 18l and the pair were 7l clear of two solid yardsticks. He also took a bit of a hold in the contest so it was a good effort and he knuckled down better at a testing Newcastle track. He's likely going to be able to settle better today and his mark could prove pretty lenient in my opinion. Timmy Murphy is a good jockey booking and I'd be surprised if he wasn't there or thereabouts. E/W with Bet365.

Re: Lucky 15 Thread - Cheltenham Nov Meet *Roger Beantown > Cheltenham 3:40 @ 9/1* Big price for the Ruby Walsh/Paul Nicholls combination for me. Has to improve, but has plenty of scope for improvement, is unexposed, the yard won this race last year and is worth a bet at the price. *Lovcen > Cheltenham 3:05 @ 5/1* Already beat Fingla Bay, who is a very classy animal. King yard has been firing on all cylinders the past few weeks and on it's first outing of the season ran well over course and distance in 5th, although better was expected, but that was very heavy ground, should go a lot closer today. *Poquelin > Cheltenham 2:35 @ 28/1* This price is too big. Is a 5-time course winner, all it's last 5 wins have come here and the last time it ran off 163, it won the December Gold Cup. Harry Derham also takes off 7 pounds, and 33/1 in places looks far too big a price considering the yard. *Carruthers > Cheltenham 1:55 @ 25/1* Won the Henessey last year off only 1 pound lower than this mark, so again looks a huge price if it can run to it's best here. Is a front runner, so if given a soft lead could prove hard to peg back. Trip and ground suit. Has a place chance. £0.50p e/w Lucky 15 with Paddy Power, Guaranteed Prices. Potential Returns: £31696.79

Re: Lucky 15 Thread - Cheltenham Nov Meet My E/W Lucky 15 Cheltenham: 12.45: Roc D'apsis @ 7/1 French bred who makes his hurdling debut on his first ever run in the UK. He won two minor races on the flat in France this year before in good style and could be now in good hands at Tom George's who won this race here last year already. Roc D'apsis could be everything here of course but the fact that he makes it straight into such a hot contest suggests that connections must think he's up to the task. 13.55: Bradley @ 6/1 Probably a bit of a "sexy" selections today as he's fancied by many people. But it's hard to looks elsewhere in this race in my mind as he gave such an impressive seasonal reappearance here at Cheltenham last month when he stayed on in very eye-catching fashion to finish a good fourth to Balthazar King. The race today is over further what will very much in his favour. He stays all the way, he likes the track, he handles the ground, he should be fit - it's hard to see him out of the frame. 14.35: Triolo D'Alene @ 12/1 Barry Geraghty gets down to 10-1 for this race and this horse. According to his block he does these things only if they are worthwhile so that must speak volumes about the chance of the horse I feel. Furthermore Triolo D'Alene is lightly raced won a couple of races in France before moving to Nicky Henderson and promptly won on his Uk debut a decent Novice chase at Ascot in good style. He disappointed at Cheltenham after that in March then but finished the season with a fine effort at Marked Rasen. He should be fit and well today, is open to more improvement and therefore dangerous here today. 15.05: Cross Kennon @ 25/1 He won this race two years ago and established himself as a decent staying hurdler. Ge finished an excellent fourth to Big Bucks in the World Hurdle in 2011 for example. Chasing wasn't his game then and he went back over hurdles where he showed a return to form at Haydock in February this year, finishing 2nd to Restless Harry in a Grade 2 hurdle. He finished well beaten after that and also didn't show much on his seasonal reappearance recently but I expect him to be much better today, back over a distance where is 3 wins from 4 starts

Re: Lucky 15 Thread - Cheltenham Nov Meet Saturday's lucky 15 was a success with three placed horses for me. Could have been even better as Bradley and Cross Kennon were close beaten in 2nd. But still paid some good money. My e/w lucky 15 for Sunday: 13.45 Cheltenham: Fishoutofwater @ 33/1 Won two decent Handicaps over hurdles last year and went on chasing then but wasn't happy over the big fences apparently and is now back over hurdles. That might do the trick and if he can find back his earlier hurdling form he might in with a chance here with a very decent looking apprentice on board who takes valuable 10lb off. 14.05 Fontwell: Double Chocolate @ 6/1 He loves at here around Fontwell, won here in October in almost similar conditions as they are expected tomorrow. Poor effort after that in his most recent run but I'll forgive him this off day and hope he can bounce back. If in the mood of his last win then he has a decent chance to be in the shake up. 14.50 Cheltenham: Dark Lover @ 11/1 Very Lightly raced 7yo gelding who made a very impressive reappearance at the racetrack last month when he won here at Cheltenham a Handicap by four lengths after being off the track for 605 days. He travelled smoothly through the race and quickened well in the closing stages. He should be even better with this run under has belt an should improve allot, he has to do so though as this race tomorrow is more demanding indeed. He should be okay on the testing ground and I expect him to run very well here anyway. 15.25 Cheltenham: According To Trev @ 10/1 Lightly raced and three from three in races under rules. He won last month a Novice Hurdle here at Cheltenham over further than tomorrows distance, following an easy win in a maiden hurdle. The form of his most recent race works out well as the runners-up won a Grade 3 Novice Hurdle at Cork since then. If the drop in trip is not a problem for him then he should be in with a decent enough chance in this race.

Re: Lucky 15 Thread - Every Saturday Good luck all :ok e/w Lucky 15 with William Hill H12.55 River Dragon 33/1 - the softer the better and off bottom weight will be staying on whilst others have given up. H2.00 Dashing George 13/2 - Again will love the conditions and carrying at least 10lb less than the rest of the field. Good jockey who rides the track well. H2.30 American Spin 14/1 - c&d winner just 2 runs back and a reproduction of that run would see it go close here H3.40 Jaunty Journey 12/1 - Should stay all day and is on a decent mark. Brian Hughes is a jockey I like as well

Re: Lucky 15 Thread - Every Saturday all win lucky 15 with skybet 2:10 Ascot – Amlin 1965 Chase FINIAN’S RAINBOW has a fantastic record fresh, winning first time out for the last four seasons and is fancied to make it five. He had a great season in 2011/12, winning three of his four starts and the form of his defeat has been boosted recently by the victory of Al Ferof last weekend. He showed a really good attitude to win the Champion Chase and then looked a class above the opposition when winning at Aintree over two miles four furlongs. Now he is proven at the trip, he is hard to fault, especially as it has been reported that he has done well over the summer. He faces some tough opponents, so it is not straight forward and trying to give Captain Chris ten pounds will require his A-game, but he is up to it. Although Captain Chris has his favoured right-handed track, I am a little concerned that he may not run to form, as his stable has not being firing in as many winners as usual, but his chances are respected. 10/11 2:45 Ascot – Coral Hurdle OSCAR WHISKY is the best two and a half mile hurdler around and should win. So far he has won five of his six starts at that trip, with his only defeat occurring in this race last year, when he fell at the last, when in with every chance; despite giving eight pounds to the very talented Overturn. He is a class act and has the beating of Get Me Out of Here, based on his defeat of him at Cheltenham last season, on eight pounds worse terms than he meets him in this. He handles most going and comes from a yard in form and although he has to concede weight to two opponents, he comes out on top on ratings and crucially he is proven at the trip, something that neither Brampour nor Raya Star are. 8/11 3:05 Haydock – Betfair Chase This is a fascinating renewal and many will fancy their chances. It looks set to be very testing though, which will not suit all and whilst not ideal for LONG RUN, he has good form on soft ground and the race is likely to become more of a stamina test than expected, which will suit him. He is a class act and it seems that many people have forgotten what he is capable of on his day. He is still just seven, so could be improving and with it being reported that he has strengthened up over the summer, I am expecting a big run from him. He has never been out of the first three in 22 starts over jumps, which shows his consistency and when you also consider he is the highest rated horse in the race, it is easy to make a strong case for him. 13/8 3:20 Ascot – Carey Group Handicap Chase TOUBAB had a mixed year over fences, but as a result looks well handicapped on a mark of 143. He looked a horse going places when winning at Sandown in February and was running a big race when he was brought down in the Grand Annual at Cheltenham. He bounced back from that though as on his final start he ran a credible race behind Sprinter Sacre at Aintree. It has been reported that he has done well over the summer and is ready to run. The Nicholls team is in great form at the moment and Daryl Jacob is a very able deputy to Ruby Walsh, so with him receiving weight from most of the field, I can see him being hard to beat. 4/1 gl everyone

Re: Lucky 15 Thread - Every Saturday I'm really strapped for time at the moment, but feel like this thread deserves a bit more support. ill post up my selections with a view to adding my reasoning later this afternoon (if possible)... Selections 12:55 Haydock - Double Ross 14:30 Haydock - Katkeau 15:05 Haydock - Weird Al 15:20 Ascot - Champion Court i don't have time to check prices so will settle for SPs if fortunate enough to find any winners. Good luck all.

Re: Lucky 15 Thread - Every Saturday Been told i need to do better? lets try these then; EW Lucky Stan James 1255 H: Crowning Jewel 7/1 ~ Third last time behind two subsequent winners, well handicapped. 200 H: Dashing George 5/1 ~ Second last time after a break, should be spot on, stays well in ground. 230 H: Sivola De Sivola 5/1 ~ Stays 3m well and stable in fine form, looks well handicapped on some of his form. 1235 A: Ubak 8/1 ~ Receives weight from most, placed twice and the yard does well here at Ascot. Gl all:ok

Re: Lucky 15 Thread - Every Saturday Lastkingofscotland > Lingfield 1:20 @ 11/2 Course winner 5 times, three of those over course and distance. Good 2nd here last time out behind Aldermoor in Class 5. This is a drop in grade, must have a big chance despite draw. Kahsabelle > Ascot 1:40 @ 14/1 Looks overpriced as the run last time out was not all that bad, 2nd of 18 with an amateur rider on board. Now with Coleman on board on gound it loves, trip is fine, for stable in form, 14/1 looks too big to me. Barafundle > Haydock 2:30 @ 7/1 Was 2nd in this race two years ago. Has had a long absence so fitness is taken on trust, but there has been nibbles or it in the market which we would not see if it was not ready to run in my opinion. Hacked up two runs back at Newbury before disappointing in the Pertemps at Cheltenham. Lucky Mark > Lingfield 3:35 @ 5/1 Yet to run at Lingfield, and is proving an expensive horse to follow, but has been placed at Wolverhampton twice recently, done at 1.05 in running on one occasion. Clearly has the ability to win a Class 6 race at Lingers. £0.50p e/w Lucky 15 with Bet Victor

Re: Lucky 15 Thread - Every Saturday My e/w lucky 15 for today with bet365: 12.55 Haydock: Poole Master @ 14/1 Was a very good Novice hurdler last season winning three on the bounce. Was disappointing at Cheltenham and Aintree subsequently then but that were strong races so he'll find this here today easier on his seasonal reappearance I suppose. He has done pretty well fresh through his career so I think he should be fit and well to run a big race here today in conditions to suit. 13.40 Ascot: Grassfinch @ 16/1 Showed an excellent performance from the front at Uttoxeter lto when pulling clear eight lengths of the second while demolishing the rest of the field. Handicapper was not too harsh on him, raised his mark by only 6lb. Grassfinch still doesn't has that many races under the belt and may improve again and should be in the mix here with soft ground very likely to suit. 14.00 Haydock: Quincy Des Pictons @ 16/1 Produced a fine hat-trick in December last year, improving his mark by 43 pounds last season. Ran poorly at Cheltenham in a Listed Novice Handicap chase (won by Hunt Bell) then though in his last race of the season, but ground might have been a reason for the poor showing as soft conditions are important for him to be seen at his best. He'll find this sort of ground at Haydock today and if fit for his first start in this new season he should go close I feel. 14.30 Haydock: Holywell @ 11/1 Holywell is very lightly raced and has done nothing wrong in his career so far. He showed a couple of good performances earlier the year but was really impressive at Aintree lto after a break of 176 days. He stayed on very well in the closing stages, suggesting he really wants to go over further. Just found front-runner too good who was never to catch. This is a step up in grade here today obviously but the step up in distance should be really in his favour.

Re: Lucky 15 Thread - Every Saturday

12.55 hay Poole master 11/1 2.00 hay battle group 12/1 2.30 hay knight pass 15/2 3.20 asc tanks for that 6/1 Reasoning to come on these but 3 of pipes at hay dock and one of hendersons at ascot Ew lucky 15
3.20 Ascot Tanks for that, runs well 1st time up and although seems to prefer Cheltenham, it is interesting he has come to this easier flatter track for the 1st spin of the season when it could have ran last weekend at Cheltenham, perhaps they will protect its mark this season for another tilt at the grand annual next march but certainly capable of a place today 12.55 Hayd, Poole Master, wont mind the ground likes the distance and is consistent. Handicap debut this season and i would expect long term target would be the Coral hurdle at the Festival so in the notebook for that one. 2.00 Hayd, Battle group is often a horse that people write off but always seems to be in the placings or thereabouts. Out of 32 runs, has been in the 1st 3 15 times but also managed 4 4th places in that also. There is improvement to come and i rate it around 138-140, so off 135 today has a chance. 2.30 hayd, Knights pass, formerly with Warren Greaterex and touted as a decent novice, now moved onto Pipe. Steps up to 3m now and will be good to see if Pipe can rejuvenate the horse which has obvious ability. Bookies not giving much away today Good luck all

Re: Lucky 15 Thread - Every Saturday 2.00 HAY~BATTLE GROUP~From top yard who are in good form. This horse has quirks but is decent on its day. 2.30 HAY~ KATENKA~French import having first run for shrewd female trainer All five wins have been on bad ground which is likely here. 3.40 HAY~NENUPHAR COLLONGES~Class horse at best been off for over two years been given a good mark in this and is overpriced imo. 6.50 WOLVES~JOHNSTOWN LAD~Slipped to a very low mark will bounce back at some stage.
