Re: The Saturday Lucky 15 Thread Taunton 110 - Hired Hand - Form in Irish Maidens gives him a decent chance in this if he is none the worse for being pulled up on reaperance - 16/1 Taunton 330 - Ifyouletmefinish - The form of his last two runs have been extremely solid, and whilst he hasnt got much room to play with from the handicapper he could be too good for these - 11/4 Lingfield 210 -Grey Mirage - Course, trip, class and running style should all suit this horse - 7/1 Lingfield 3.20 - Bussa - Again this one ticks all the boxes and looks to be progressive - 5/2

Musselburgh 105 - Lets Get Serious 4/1 - Won really nicely LTO jumping superbly with something in hand. Reading the form through the 2nd place gives him a great chance of defying this mark. Musselburgh 140 - Monetary Fund 9/2 - Another horse with form in higher class races and the form has worked out nicely. Musselburgh 245 - Jet Master 16/1 - My BBOTD - his recent 3rd has worked out very well and even his 2nd at Kelso gives him scope off this mark. If they all win it returns £6317 :hope

Re: The Saturday Lucky 15 Thread 2.35 Lingfield - Piscean - won nicely off a slow pace last time and should be seen to even better effect off likely fast gallop today. 8/1 3.10 Lingfield - Kickingthelilly - form of last race has been boosted by Cut Across winning next time out and open to more progress over todays 1m trip. 4/1. 3.20 Chepstow - Master Overseer - plodder that loves slow ground. Won Midlands National at Uttoxeter and well in after recent Chelto victory. 14/1. League Two Football - Exeter (vs York) - really capable away-day side are Exeter. Alan Gow oozes class and runs the show for them from midfield. Upfront, Jamie Cureton is still knocking the goals in with his walking stick. Think it could be a tight game that could be settled by the odd goal. Dont fancy a fourth horse, so putting this bet in to make up the bet to a Lucky 15. 2/1. Re: The Saturday Lucky 15 Thread Saturdays Lucky 15 3.50 Kempton Forgotten voice - a decent sort from the flat formerly trained by Jeremy Noseda winning the Royal Hunt Cup. Has won 1st 2 starts for Nicky Henderson and hat trick seeking now. Good chance to stay unbeaten. 9/4 2.40 Kempton Black Thunder - full reasoning in the daily jumps thread. Off a good mark and has a handy 5lb claim. 5/1 3.00 WArwick The New One - i like to follow horses from the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham and this one is unbeaten in 3 races since. I expect we will see this horse pushing for a win at the festival and can further enhance its claims tomorrow 10/11 2.15 Wetherby Dunowen Point - very consistent horse and McCain looks to have a good day at wetherby as i think he could rattle up a treble on the day. This looks to be one of his best chances. 13/8 Win L15

Won off this mark on grass. 2.00 Lingfield 5/1 Speak The Truth - won off 2lb higher over C&D twelve months ago and better drawn than last run here. 5/1 3.10 Lingfield Robin Hoods Bay - has been running consistently well on the AW this winter and dropped 1lb from latest fourth here. 9/2 3.40 Lingfield Understory - returned to form with close up second last time. Up 2lb but won off 2lb higher last year so could go well off fair mark. 4/1 50p L15, possible returns £955.

Re: The Saturday Lucky 15 Thread Four selections today. Possibly shorter write-ups as it's late and I'm going to Barnsley (hooray!) in the morning. 2.05 Kempton - Niceonefrankie @ 5/1 Presumably going to be hit with a rule 4 here with the top-weight likely to head to Wetherby, but that horse would be a threat so it's still worth a bet on Venetia Williams' runner here in my eyes. The yard are flying at present and this horse appears to have conditions to suit here. Although he hasn't quite been at his best the last twice, there have been excuses. He fell at the first on his seasonal reappearance at Sandown so it's fair to assume that he'll have needed the run on technically his second start back when running adequately over this c&d. He went well at Musselburgh last time but they didn't go much pace and I think he just got outspeeded there when running a close enough 3rd. He usually runs his best races in the second half of the season and had a fruitful time of the year this time in 2012. He's only 6lbs higher than for an eased-down 3 1/2l win at Newbury last season and this type of race should suit so I think he could prove tough to beat. 2.25 Warwick - Holywell @ 6/1 The Package does have an obvious chance but for me is too short in a competitive affair especially at this track as he would prove better on a more testing course. In competition, Jonjo O'Neill's runner looks a rock solid alternative and 6/1 isn't a bad price in my eyes. He's consistent, his form looks solid, and conditions suit. He's never been out of the frame under rules and has finished 2nd the last three times he's encountered the racecourse. His 2nd in May at Uttoxeter may not look anything special really but I thought he showed qualities that will help him here. They went slowly up front and this horse and one other injected some pace just after halfway but eventually he just got outspeeded. I don't think the test was substantial enough and he made a bad error at 2 out which exaggerated the losing margin. He did prove he had the tactical speed for sharp tracks and has subsequently shown he stays well too. He clearly needed further than 2m4f on his staying on seasonal return at Aintree and only found the progressive Trustan Times too good last time out. There were 4 1/2l back to the third in a solid race and the very capable Maurice Linehan negates the 5lb penalty so he's fairly treated and ought to go close again. 2.50 Wetherby - Kent Street @ 14/1 I backed Sue Smith's runner over fences last time but he once again failed to deliver in the jumping department. He's now only completed twice from six starts over the larger obstacles and it makes sense to pop him back over hurdles as he does have an engine at a reasonably lowly level. He shaped well at Carlisle in November over an insufficient trip over fences and if you go back to his previous hurdling runs he'd have a shout here. He won on his hurdling debut and then chased home Cinders And Ashes off level weights (miles clear of 3rd). He was outpaced in 4th entered into a handicap on good ground over 2m off a mark of 120 (was a good 0-145 affair) and then stayed on into a 4l 2nd over the same trip in a novice next time out. Hasn't run over hurdles since but looks like 2m4f would be ideal on track evidence and pedigree so fingers crossed he can go well in a more reasonable affair. Jonathan England takes 7lbs off his back and he has a pretty fair record on the horse (4th, 2nd, 5th which came on seasonal return over fences) so I think he's better than a 16/1 shot. 3.50 Kempton - Turn Over Sivola @ 6/1 You have to respect Forgotten Voice but this will be more testing than small, novice hurdles on good ground and it's plausible if he fails to settle, he will run out of gas late on. Alan King's runner looks a rock solid alternative and I think he's primed to run a cracker here. He was fairly useful in bumpers and his record of 1219 since going over hurdles is strong. The 2nd came to a nice type off the back of a break and the 9th last time was much better than the bare form. He was in 6th going up the hill but faded late on. He seems off a fair mark on his novice exploits and this track should suit. He's a strong-traveller and went as well as most at Cheltenham last time but the combination of the stiff track and heavy ground just found him out. The better ground here and sharper track will play to his strengths - emphasised by the fact he traded at 4, 1.01, 1.62, 2.9 and 2.69 in five of his six career defeats. Will travel around here no problem and should find more when asked than he did last time. The winner made up a large amount of the losing deficit last time as well which exaggerated his performance and I reckon this one will take the beating today. E/W with Bet365.

Re: The Saturday Lucky 15 Thread 14.40 - Kempton - Captain Sunshine @ 12/1 I quite like the chances of Oscara Dara in this but i feel the winner may come from abit further down the handicap. Captain Sunshine was a horse that i backed last time out at Cheltenham and he ran creditably despite only finishing 7th. Like my other selection today, Turn Over Sivola, the ground was probably abit soft for Captain Sunshine last time out and the Cheltenham finish found him out, so back on slightly better ground at a less testing course i expect him to show an improvement. From a handicapping perspective he should be on a workable mark, some of his novice form is very good and he is still unexposed. He does obviously have his quirks having refused to race on his previous appearance but he has got a C&D win to his name and at a decent price i feel he will go well. 3.50 - Kempton - Turn Over Sivola @ 11/2 I think the slightly better ground that Turn Over Sivola will encounter tomorrow will certainly mean that he will go closer than last time out at Cheltenham. That was his handicap debut and he certainly shaped better than his 29L defeat suggests. He travelled well before fading fairly late on and i feel that the slightly better ground and less testing course should play into his favour tomorrow. Considering his unexposed nature his opening mark of 123 doesn't look that harsh, he won a novice hurdle at Plumpton in his previous run in good fashion and some of his other novice/maiden form looks decent. Robert Thornton onboard for Alan King who does well with his hurdlers and hopefully he's got another decent one here in Turn Over Sivola 12.40 - Warwick - Thunder Sheik @ 10/1 Bit of an eye-catcher on his return at Towcester, travelled nicely for a long way. Interesting switch back down in trip to 2m but headgear applied Timmy Murphy a positive jockey booking and he could be on a very handy mark despite having to carry top weight. Still very lightly raced as a 5yo and double figure odds look too big. 3.35 - Warwick - Benheir @ 22/1 I quite fancy Benheir to outrun large odds in the Betfred Chase today. The 7yo got off the mark over fences back in November and went on to take a handicap off a mark of 130 last month at Ffos Las. Although it wasn't the strongest of races the form looks okay with the 2nd horse running creditably in the Sussex National. He was turned out quite quickly and ran a creditable 2nd to Carruthers on Boxing Day. The marathon trip and testing conditions should play right into his favour. Capable claimer takes 7lbs off his weight load and i just feel he looks overpriced at 22/1 EW lucky 15 - BetVictor

He won his first two starts over hurdles and finished a very creditable 2nd at Ascot in November. This will be only his fourth start and with further improvement expected I feel he can be a big danger for the odds-on favourite. 15.15 Kempton: Stoney's Treasure @ 4/1 - He was back after a long lay-off at Newbury in late December, that form is to ignore and with this run under his belt he should be now much fitter, in good shape and competitive back in Handicap company. He won two Novice Chases in early 2011 in good style but had only two runs since then, so there might be still more to come. 15.20 Punchestown: Torn Asunder @ 5/2 - Lightly raced gelding owned by Gigginstown who won a maiden hurdle well enough at Down Royal in December. He confirmed the promise he showed in his earlier starts and may improve from that effort now. His opening mark of 116 looks fair enough and all chances are there to win this race here. 15.35 Warwick: Restless Harry @ 7/1 - Tricky horse but locks very well handicapped judged on his hurdling form. He won a decent chace at Newbury in December in great style and therefore should be in cracking form today. He's effective over the big fences as well as long as his jumping goes well and he should really appreciate this stamina test here today.

14.40 - Kempton - Captain Sunshine @ 12/1 I quite like the chances of Oscara Dara in this but i feel the winner may come from abit further down the handicap. Captain Sunshine was a horse that i backed last time out at Cheltenham and he ran creditably despite only finishing 7th. Like my other selection today, Turn Over Sivola, the ground was probably abit soft for Captain Sunshine last time out and the Cheltenham finish found him out, so back on slightly better ground at a less testing course i expect him to show an improvement. From a handicapping perspective he should be on a workable mark, some of his novice form is very good and he is still unexposed. He does obviously have his quirks having refused to race on his previous appearance but he has got a C&D win to his name and at a decent price i feel he will go well. 3.50 - Kempton - Turn Over Sivola @ 11/2 I think the slightly better ground that Turn Over Sivola will encounter tomorrow will certainly mean that he will go closer than last time out at Cheltenham. That was his handicap debut and he certainly shaped better than his 29L defeat suggests. He travelled well before fading fairly late on and i feel that the slightly better ground and less testing course should play into his favour tomorrow. Considering his unexposed nature his opening mark of 123 doesn't look that harsh, he won a novice hurdle at Plumpton in his previous run in good fashion and some of his other novice/maiden form looks decent. Robert Thornton onboard for Alan King who does well with his hurdlers and hopefully he's got another decent one here in Turn Over Sivola 12.40 - Warwick - Thunder Sheik @ 10/1 Bit of an eye-catcher on his return at Towcester, travelled nicely for a long way. Interesting switch back down in trip to 2m but headgear applied Timmy Murphy a positive jockey booking and he could be on a very handy mark despite having to carry top weight. Still very lightly raced as a 5yo and double figure odds look too big. 3.35 - Warwick - Benheir @ 22/1 I quite fancy Benheir to outrun large odds in the Betfred Chase today. The 7yo got off the mark over fences back in November and went on to take a handicap off a mark of 130 last month at Ffos Las. Although it wasn't the strongest of races the form looks okay with the 2nd horse running creditably in the Sussex National. He was turned out quite quickly and ran a creditable 2nd to Carruthers on Boxing Day. The marathon trip and testing conditions should play right into his favour. Capable claimer takes 7lbs off his weight load and i just feel he looks overpriced at 22/1 EW lucky 15 - BetVictor

Saturdays Lucky 15 3.50 Kempton Forgotten voice - a decent sort from the flat formerly trained by Jeremy Noseda winning the Royal Hunt Cup. Has won 1st 2 starts for Nicky Henderson and hat trick seeking now. Good chance to stay unbeaten. 9/4 2.40 Kempton Black Thunder - full reasoning in the daily jumps thread. Off a good mark and has a handy 5lb claim. 5/1 3.00 WArwick The New One - i like to follow horses from the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham and this one is unbeaten in 3 races since. I expect we will see this horse pushing for a win at the festival and can further enhance its claims tomorrow 10/11 2.15 Wetherby Dunowen Point - very consistent horse and McCain looks to have a good day at wetherby as i think he could rattle up a treble on the day. This looks to be one of his best chances. 13/8 Win L15

2 winners 5/2 and 10/11 shame i went with Black thunder in the end as it was a toss up between the winner and black thunder

Four selections today. Possibly shorter write-ups as it's late and I'm going to Barnsley (hooray!) in the morning. 2.05 Kempton - Niceonefrankie @ 5/1 Presumably going to be hit with a rule 4 here with the top-weight likely to head to Wetherby, but that horse would be a threat so it's still worth a bet on Venetia Williams' runner here in my eyes. The yard are flying at present and this horse appears to have conditions to suit here. Although he hasn't quite been at his best the last twice, there have been excuses. He fell at the first on his seasonal reappearance at Sandown so it's fair to assume that he'll have needed the run on technically his second start back when running adequately over this c&d. He went well at Musselburgh last time but they didn't go much pace and I think he just got outspeeded there when running a close enough 3rd. He usually runs his best races in the second half of the season and had a fruitful time of the year this time in 2012. He's only 6lbs higher than for an eased-down 3 1/2l win at Newbury last season and this type of race should suit so I think he could prove tough to beat. 2.25 Warwick - Holywell @ 6/1 The Package does have an obvious chance but for me is too short in a competitive affair especially at this track as he would prove better on a more testing course. In competition, Jonjo O'Neill's runner looks a rock solid alternative and 6/1 isn't a bad price in my eyes. He's consistent, his form looks solid, and conditions suit. He's never been out of the frame under rules and has finished 2nd the last three times he's encountered the racecourse. His 2nd in May at Uttoxeter may not look anything special really but I thought he showed qualities that will help him here. They went slowly up front and this horse and one other injected some pace just after halfway but eventually he just got outspeeded. I don't think the test was substantial enough and he made a bad error at 2 out which exaggerated the losing margin. He did prove he had the tactical speed for sharp tracks and has subsequently shown he stays well too. He clearly needed further than 2m4f on his staying on seasonal return at Aintree and only found the progressive Trustan Times too good last time out. There were 4 1/2l back to the third in a solid race and the very capable Maurice Linehan negates the 5lb penalty so he's fairly treated and ought to go close again. 2.50 Wetherby - Kent Street @ 14/1 I backed Sue Smith's runner over fences last time but he once again failed to deliver in the jumping department. He's now only completed twice from six starts over the larger obstacles and it makes sense to pop him back over hurdles as he does have an engine at a reasonably lowly level. He shaped well at Carlisle in November over an insufficient trip over fences and if you go back to his previous hurdling runs he'd have a shout here. He won on his hurdling debut and then chased home Cinders And Ashes off level weights (miles clear of 3rd). He was outpaced in 4th entered into a handicap on good ground over 2m off a mark of 120 (was a good 0-145 affair) and then stayed on into a 4l 2nd over the same trip in a novice next time out. Hasn't run over hurdles since but looks like 2m4f would be ideal on track evidence and pedigree so fingers crossed he can go well in a more reasonable affair. Jonathan England takes 7lbs off his back and he has a pretty fair record on the horse (4th, 2nd, 5th which came on seasonal return over fences) so I think he's better than a 16/1 shot. 3.50 Kempton - Turn Over Sivola @ 6/1 You have to respect Forgotten Voice but this will be more testing than small, novice hurdles on good ground and it's plausible if he fails to settle, he will run out of gas late on. Alan King's runner looks a rock solid alternative and I think he's primed to run a cracker here. He was fairly useful in bumpers and his record of 1219 since going over hurdles is strong. The 2nd came to a nice type off the back of a break and the 9th last time was much better than the bare form. He was in 6th going up the hill but faded late on. He seems off a fair mark on his novice exploits and this track should suit. He's a strong-traveller and went as well as most at Cheltenham last time but the combination of the stiff track and heavy ground just found him out. The better ground here and sharper track will play to his strengths - emphasised by the fact he traded at 4, 1.01, 1.62, 2.9 and 2.69 in five of his six career defeats. Will travel around here no problem and should find more when asked than he did last time. The winner made up a large amount of the losing deficit last time as well which exaggerated his performance and I reckon this one will take the beating today. E/W with Bet365.
