Re: The Punters Lounge 100/1 Challenge - Irish National Nailed (twice)

On the Aintree thread the ones in bold were the ones he was backing but the bold type didn't come across here.
soz, hadnt read the thread and i know Ginge backs multiple horses in some races, its just for clarity where we could name 6 or 7 horses and find the 100/1 winner amongst them. :ok

Re: The Punters Lounge 100/1 Challenge - Irish National Nailed (twice) Two more brilliant winners to add to the rapidly expanding table. Philss has made a good start with his flat thread and banged in Sherman McCoy at 25/1 on Wednesday for his first entry in the charts, and similarly Ginge was getting his name chalked on the board for the first time too. His 70.0 value pick on Orsippus, who stayed on nicely on the far side rail to usurp the leading fancies at Aintree yesterday, means he takes over at the head of affairs. Denman and Joncol might need cut and this could be too quick for them. With the potential of Cooldine having gone backwards since last season, I had a speculative one on Planet Of Sound at 33/1 and 28/1 last night. #8 (permalink) Spooner God Punter Join Date: 10 Jun 2007 Age: 21 Posts: 8,293 Re: Punchestown - Wedsnesday 21st April Good luck guys, I'm with Mileni here. Can see why there is some money for the horse. 17:30 - Planet Of Sound @ 25/1 365 (bog) E-W Good ground at Punchestown today could suit this horse wll, has raced previously on good ground and has decent form in the bag, on starts he has showed he can mix it with the best but is a little inconsistent, step up in trip could suit as his previously showed over a few furlongs horter than he could stay further, could spring a suprise here.

Re: The Punters Lounge 100/1 Challenge - More Aintree Glory Thanks Ted. Mileni and Spooner take on the hype horses today over at Punchestown and land a whopping win on Planet of Sound, whalloped all the way into 14/1 at SP. :clap:clap I guess there was a 15p rule 4 on the prices though, so I better asterisk them, given Joncol was one of the main fancies, around 5/1 - 6/1 at the point of withdrawl. Not sure on the exact deduction those guys had on their prices? 3:05 Sandown: Fairoak Lad 2pts win 15/2 & Church Island 1pt e/w 25/1 both >William Hill This race looks to have been the plan for both of these horses. Philip Hobbs looks to have a decent chance with Monkerhostin and Lacdoudal however stable jockey Richard Johnson prefers Fairoak Lad. He won well at Wincanton on good ground and races on a similar surface here. He goes well right handed and the form of his run at Ascot too in November behind Any currency looks decent, staying on at the finish, so the marathon trip should suit. Church Island was only beaten two and a quarter lengths in this race last year after leading for a long way. Last year he ran in the Irish National less than two weeks previously and that race may just have taken its toll. Church Island has been running over hurdles this time and with his favoured good ground and being a touch fresher he should go close again.

Re: The Punters Lounge 100/1 Challenge - Punchy Gold Cup Nailed

Think Merl1n should be up there Fin with BLUESEA CRACKER probably at 41/1 at the very least 25/1 ok
Yeah, sorry, we dicussed the Betfair issue before and concluded we'd just take peoples word for it unless it was a 100/1+ winner. So ill add him into the table above. However, I hope Merl1n gives a bit more reasoning in future, it was sketchy at best..
With the heavy going this will be a slog and value may be found in the following 3 which I whittled down from my initial 8...
Well done nonetheless. :clap

2000 Guineas: Makfi 1pt e/w 33/1 Stan James Makfi may just spring a surprise at a nice price. He seems to have slipped under the radar as he does not fare well against many of the trends, however this son of Dubawi may have been underestimated. He lines up here unbeaten having won a Group 3 last time out. His sire is Dubawi and he can trace his line back to Dubai Millenium. There is every reason to hope he will stay. Dubawi won the Irish 2000 Guineas and also won on this course. The concern is he has been winning (comfortably) on soft going. However, reading the reports his trainer feels he can improve and with some better ground he just might. Over the past decade a high draw has also been an advantage and Makfi will come out of stall 15. Don't pretend to know much about the trainer - which is probably part of the reason why Makfi is 33/1. If he was still with Marcus Tregoning he would be several points shorter.

Re: The Punters Lounge 100/1 Challenge - Punchy Gold Cup Nailed A couple more to add onto the board, firstly Stevet manages to nail a spectacular 33/1 winner in the 2,000 Guineas with Mafki - clearly he wasnt one of the millions wondering what went wrong with St Nick, superb tipping and its always nice to tip a prestigious winner in a race that matters like a classic :notworthy Ted wouldn't have won many accolades for the abrupt reasoning behind Tabaret later on that evening (I reckon he was legging it down to paddies in time to take in the race!) but his reward came in the shape of a fantastic 40/1 winner - his FIFTH entry in the table so he clearly has the eye for these monster priced winners for sure and with the jumps season now cooling off, he is the bookies favourite to beat other serial bookiebashers Ogii and Mileni who also have plenty of entries on the board. The free bet is still dangling, but in a few months I reckon we'll have our winner.... 335 Swinton Hurdle Perhaps i am missing something here but ERADICATE looks massively overpriced at 25/1 Distance winner Course winner on the flat Favours flat tracks Lightly raced over hurdles Won off 129 (132 tomorrow with a 7lb claimer!) Trainer in form One of the leading conditional jockeys on board Can race prominent which is key here Will handle a bit of cut if ground changes Ok its an open race but 25/1 about a henderson horse is always worth a 2nd look 2.5pts win @ 30.0 >Betfair

Re: The Punters Lounge 100/1 Challenge - Bowles Strikes Again

i wont be happy until i hit a 50/1 winner though Ted :loon good idea this one, great to look back on
Yeah certainly was from young Fin. Even if we didn't get the illusive 100/1 +winner this year I would love it if we had a list of 100 or more by 31st Dec but realistically that is probably beyond us....but you never know.

Re: The Punters Lounge 100/1 Challenge - Bowles Strikes Again i reckon we will have the winner sewn up in a few months, some of the guys on here are banging in winners like they are going out of fashion and everywhere you look we have good yields in the individual threads. Would be great if we could make a ton like ted said, but even if we dont i still think its the sort of thing that looks good on the forum - a showcase of ability. Thanks for your continual input ted, its definately appreciated as my time on here is sporadic nowadays.

Comlplete shot in the dark, but the price is tasty.

The 140 actually didn't get matched I took the rest of my bet at 120. So it's 130 .. 131.45 :D 28424_1434883588513_1125633387_31300065_4175543_n.jpg
