RussP
Re: RussP's Specialisation - Big Field Handicaps (Flat) Christelfordwigan - I do have something for today, mate. I will always post them on here, mate, so don't worry but there won't be picks every day. And remember, the losing runs do happen:ok So, onto today, and 1 from the televised meeting: 2.15 Ascot With 3 runners taken out due to the soft ground, we have a field of 11 for this Class 2 handicap over 12f: Group Captain (11/1 Betfred) - I really am not convinced that this is a strong race. A few lto winners but they have all been raised either steeply in mark or in class. Therefore, I'm happy to concentrate on one near the top of the handicap, who will be well suited by conditions. This horse fits the bill, trained by the very much in form Roger Charlton. Steps back to handicap company for the first time this season, after been highly tried in Group and Listed class. Has a first rate chance on its handicap form of last term, finishing 3rd, 2nd and 1st in its last 3 runs all in this grade, all races carrying a big pot. Likes Ascot, 2 2nds from 3 runs, and has 3 wins and 2 places from just 6 runs in the month of July. Cut in the ground is ideal too, and over best trip today. If the drop to handicaps is what's needed, I find it very difficult to discount this very capable animal. Great E/W price of 11/1.

I used to bet on a few per day because I fancied them a bit but i'm more selective now. I like to stick with certain horses i'll follow too and back them when they are turned out if they seem to have a real chance. One of them is Man Of Vision which we discussed after Wolverhampton and it runs this week at Goodwood. You don't need to be backing horses every day with that profit, just keep popping up with those big priced winners. :ok
