Thanks for kicking this off. Certainly a bit of a novelty event but everyone will be gunning for the half-a-million dollar 167 break prize! It all looked a bit bleak this afternoon when all the players were introduced as there were about 10 people in the crowd but apparently, the prelim rounds were very last minute so the real crowd will be in this evening for the proper start of the tournament. The golden ball is going to be in the most difficult position so it would be highly unlikely to see anyone win the bonus but it adds a little spice to the event.

Higgins sure got close with 15 reds/blacks but landed almost touching the yellow else I think he would at least have had a shot at the golden ball!

Cracking match between Selby and Allen going down to the final black. 3 more matches tonight so they'll be finishing about 2 am local time if they're lucky!

Well, they didn't finish until after 3 am but then again they didn't start until almost 2 am!

Ronnie was awesome, did he shave his arms for the tournament as he seemed a lot less hairy than I've seen him before?

He should have beaten Hossein yesterday if he had just dropped the black in to lead by 33 points with only the colours left!

I haven't had the chance to keep up to date with the Snooker in the last month but looking to get back into it after the weekend. I did hear that he lost to Vafaei though. I just think Ronnie hasn't got the determination tbh. If that talent was in another person then maybe they would have achieved so much more.

Well he's lost to Vaffaei before in a minor event so it doesn't surprise me it happened again in another minor event. You can see when he's not interested.
