I've decided to go for Trixies rather than the 6 doubles, 4 trebles and a 4 fold.  Using Trixies means that I can stoop to evens to cover my stakes on a winning double whereas I need a minimum price of 5/2 to do the same for the multiple.  I'm not so keen on the singles bets as they waste money that I could use on more multiples.  I have enough profit this month to see how not backing singles play out.

2.25 War Ragamufin 5/4 @The Brigadier

3.27 Bev Aklam Express 5/2 @The Brigadier (my PL Nap and tipped by the Big 3 so that may put the kiss of death on it)

3.35 War Vision Des Flos 7/4 @The Brigadier

1 0.50 Trixie = 2 pts poss return of 22.65

----------------------------------------------------

3.00 War Une De La Seniere 9/2

3.35 War Fat Sam 9/4

4.37 Bev Tollard Royal 11/4

1 x 0.5 win Trixie =2 pts poss return of 58.84

---------------------------------------------------------

3.00 War Solstalla 4/1 @The Brigadier

4.10 War Little Bruce 5/2 (money horse)

4.37 Bev Autumn Festival 7/2 @The Brigadier

1 x 0.5 win Trixie = 2 pts poss return of 67.23

------------------------------------------------------------

Total stakes = 6 points

RESULTS UPDATE

@The Brigadierto the rescue again.  I was quite worried when I saw Solstalla drift in the market as it did which is why I also backed Une De La Seniere in a different Trixie.  The horse won at 6/1 SP which just goes to show that drifters do win.  Autumn Festival beat Tollard Royal another choice of mine which meant that I had a double returned for 11.25 pts making a 5.25 pts profit on the day courtesy of @The Brigadier's selections.  Many thanks.  My MTD is now +92.74 and YTD is -203.83.  It's going down now so let's hope I can keep it doing so.

Five UK meetings tomorrow including Goodwood so I hope that there is something to look forward to

Good luck with this approach @The Equaliser, with your pricing ( I can stoop to evens )  you have not factored in that you are betting 2 in a race. At best only 1 can win, and this means that the other losing selection makes 3 out of 4 bets in the 'other trixie' lose. I'm just advising caution backing 2 in a race in seperate trixies.

Many thanks and pleased to hear from you.  I agree, I should only have one selection in each race for a Trixie.  I used to do an insurance bet for a "danger" horse. Maybe I will revert back to that for a singles cover bet.  I do hope that you are keeping well and many thanks for your thoughts
