  1. Well, I was sweating a bit while watching some of the results, but Ukraine won in the end. New bank = £13.43
  2. Hmm, never thought of doing that. Well, I'll leave it as is now - who knows who'll win? I think UK will probably be in the top 3. I think Norway have to be the crowd favourite, they certainly have some of the most creative outfits!
  3. I'm going to try and start this again. I haven't been betting much over the last few weeks at all, just following random bets on here. Anyway, I'll stick £10 on Ukraine to win Eurovision.
  4. Came 4th - I should have done an EW bet, but it's only after the fact that you think of these things. I did have a free £5 bet with Bet365 and I put my money on place bet for Brunch - who came 2nd!! Thanks to @The Brigadier and @richard-westwood for that tip.
  5. Thanks, Harry. I see his newest post is now available ?.
  6. I got two free £5 bets for both FA cup games this weekend as well. ?
  7. Harry, does Kevin Pullein not have a new bet every week? I just checked his page on the Racing Post website, and it hasn't been updated.
  8. Yeah, I had a look at his other articles, but was none the wiser! The idea of positive numbers for home teams, and negative for away teams makes sense ?. He doesn't convert the ratings into probabilities, but maybe there is a way to do that by using the odds.....? ? FWIW, I think the Elo ratings on the site here are pretty hard to beat. I would like to come up with my own method and use them in conjunction.
  9. I haven't really thought too much about betting systems for football. I would normally look at each teams performance on Flash Score and go from there. I am doing some research and found a site called Since a Win. They have an article about rating games by allocating points to goals in previous games. They also talk about the Elo ratings. The thing that confused me is their talk of a "match rating". What is a match rating and how will it give me an indication on who to put my money on? I thought that individual ratings for each team would be better? I think @StevieDay1983 is a footy ratings expert, maybe? Can you help me? @harry_rag, do you use ratings for footy?
  10. You seem to be off to a great start. Good luck with this ?
  11. You seem to be doing pretty well. Can I ask what your system is based on?
  12. New bank = £10. 29. I'm going to take a break from betting over Easter, will be back in a week and a bit. Thanks for your thoughts @harry_rag. I'm sure there is some kind of angle to be found in these bets, it's just finding it!
  13. I know, that's the unfortunate thing about it. I think that short odds are generally more reliable in football, as opposed to something like horse racing. What do you look for in recent form in footy games?
  14. I've gone for Benfica vs Liverpool, surely there just has to be a least a single goal in this one.
  15. Well my luck has come to an end, with a nil-nil draw. I will start again with £10 because it's been fun watching my bank slowly grow.
  16. I'm just about to head to bed, but I decided to check this game on Bet365, and a goal was scored! It only took 7 shots on target! New bank = £18.29
  17. This one didn't take too long either, there was a goal in the 9th minute. New bank = £16.66
  18. Loads of goals in the Spurs vs Newcastle game. New bank is £16.18
