NAP Of The Day Comp Saturday day 7 3rd October

Recommended Posts

3.45 Asc - Majestic Moon - win at 25/1 bog bet365

Big handicap of the day - 7F at Ascot

My selection is a 7f specialist who's won over CD, appears to act on any going is still generally progressive and wins in big fields.

Drawn in the middle so can go either way if the field splits or can make the running as he has in the past

There's probably something really well handicapped lurking in the field but I reckon my horse might outrun is odds as conditions are perfect for him

4.55 Ascot: Kimberella 18/1 bet365/betvictor

Decent sprinter on his day and has been dropped below the 95 mark so he can get in this grade. Was 2nd to Don't Touch at Ripon in the Great St Wilfrid and that form looks excellent now the winner has won the Ayr Gold Cup. A return to that form would see hi go very close here. Rider claims 5lbs too, she rode him last time for the first time and will hopefully be wiser now, she has ridden a few winners for the yard.

2.35 Ascot: Cumberland Lodge Stakes (Group 3)

This is a pretty poor renewal given that each and every runner faces allot of question marks. It is hard to put much faith into favourite Romsdal, who is on past form the one to beat, but after all has never won over this trip and in fact, despite some high class placings, only won a maiden and an All-Weather listed race anyway. He looks vulnerable.

The only three year old in the race warrants respect, naturally, due to the weight allowance. Star Storm is only a decent handicapper to this date, though, and will need to improve a good deal to win this. He may well do it, but at the given price, I find him hard to fancy.

If one horse stands out in this field it is the filly Queen Of Ice. A multiple listed winner over 1m 4f as a three year old, she has run only twice this year and was a big disappointment in both starts. However she remains generally lightly raced. Tongue tied for the first time today and her low mileage may give her the edge in this race, and at a tasty price, I give her the nod.

R5.50 Pastureyes 18/1 Bet365

The Dixon/B A Curtis combo is often a profitable one to follow and this horse has fallen to its lowest ever handicap mark now. All 3 of the horses career wins have come at this trip on this type of ground and the horse has won off a 3lb higher mark. Big chance under the horses optimal conditions.

Just one to run so far;

Final table up later.

Sorry its so late but

8.30 WOLVES

GROWL @ 25/1 Betvictor

His Group and Listed form earlier in the season give a better than 25/1 chance here.  First time blinkers could just sharpen him up enough to get a position from this wide draw.  Not a certainty by any means but there will be plenty of worse 25/1 shots running today.
