Re: Nap Of the Day - Thursday 8th January 2015 Wolverhampton 4.45 Khajaaly (9/1 coral) This fellow appears to be a true all weather and Wolverhampton specialist, having won 6 times all of which have been on the all weather with no less than 5 of those wins being here at Wolverhampton, all his wins were also at 7 furlongs, he ran a good race here last time out finishing second by one and a quarter lengths and won this race last year

Re: Nap Of the Day - Thursday 8th January 2015 15:55 Meydan: AHTOUG @ 7/2 CORAL AHTOUG (1) is the last year's winner of this renewal when beat the re-opposing Hototo by over a length and performed with credit against much better rivals since then. Charlie Appleby's charge is expected to go well back from a 173-day break, particularly he is well treated by the assessor judging on his best form in Group company.

Re: Nap Of the Day - Thursday 8th January 2015 3.00 Leices: Benefique Royale 4/1 PP/SJ Nick Williams horse comes here after a fall at Wincanton which is not ideal but ran with credit that day and looks sure to be able to improve on his current mark of just 105. Lizzie Kelly gets the leg up today and knocks another 7lbs off so leaves him with a terrific chance to open his account over fences.

Re: Nap Of the Day - Thursday 8th January 2015 5.05 Meydan - Singspiel Stakes: This race evolves around True Story. Once thought to be a potential Derby winner, yet his star faded almost as quickly as it emerged last summer. Gelded and fresh after a break, connections must hope he'll find back to his best under the warm Dubai sun. I admit he has a good chance to score tomorrow if the mentioned things rejuvenate him. However he is not a price to get involved in. That says True Story is clearly is talented, and a big performance would be great to see from him. Mushreq is a very good horse, he proved that with a couple of nice performances last season in particular. He was recently beaten over 11f at Abu Dhabi. Drop in trip will suit but he's short enough in the betting and may found one or two too strong in this grade. Be Ready looked very promising as a 2yo but had clearly some bad injury problems last year. Remains to be seen whether he has retained some of his ability. De Kock's Sanshaawes is a very exciting runner if fully wound up after a break. He won a couple of Handicaps here last year and finished a fine runner-up on the Tapeta track in the Group 1 Al Maktoum Challenge Round 3. Two lesser efforts in very hot company may be forgiven and the drop in grade will surly help to see him competitive. He is a very attractive price and my choice in this race. Sanshaawes @ 5/1 VC

Re: Nap Of the Day - Thursday 8th January 2015 2.40 catterick settledoutofcourt takes my eye, as consistent and i feel this trip on this ground can see him run a big race. handicapper gives a chance off a mark of 119 and the jockey, craig nicol, gets on well with the horse and claims 3lb. enough pace to the race to ensure the winner of this will need to stay very well and i think settledoutofcourt is up to it. 1pt win 12/1 stan james bog

Re: Nap Of the Day - Thursday 8th January 2015 2.20 southwell frankthetank @ 8/1 bet365 jockey/trainer combo of 39% at the track. There only combo runner of the day. Selection is proven over cd and has only ever won here. Mark back down to 66 after poor efforts at other all weather tracks. Hoping the break has done him good and should go close.

Re: Nap Of the Day - Thursday 8th January 2015 Union Jack Dycy - WIN @ 16/1 Bet365 Small bet for me on Union Jack Dycy in the Yorkshire National (Catterick 2:40) over 3m6f @ 18/1. Venetia always does well in these big staying handicaps. Trip will be no bother, ran over 4 miles last time out and was a laboured 5th and he has place form over 3m5f. He bolted up at Towcester two runs back and at 18/1 is worth a small bet for me. Very tough race

Fancied him too. Never in it. Terrible run, but on a brighter note I also had Dha Char e/w at 25/1

Re: Nap Of the Day - Thursday 8th January 2015

Leicester 3.30 Lost in Newyork 9/1 e/w horse is carrying 11lb lower than the favourite and next lowest in the weights AND the jockey has a 5lb claimer to assist. Runner up last time out over course and distance so definitely has each way claims.
Ran well below expectations

Re: Nap Of the Day - Thursday 8th January 2015 Winners today so far; Striker 2nd 4/1 EW Luckypants 10/1 Wtrylika 13/8 Gambolaya 4/1 Bluemal 2nd 20/1 EW :clap Still to run;

17:15 Wolverhampton Dutch Rifle 0.5pts e/way 10/1 Boylesports (BOG) Is only 2lbs higher than the last win. Has won 40% (2.5) on the surface and 50% (2/4) and 40% (2/5) on course and distance respectively. Is given the hood for the first time as well. Definitely worth keeping an eye on the market for any move but the Tate/Mulrennan combination is a benefit.
5.15 Wolverhampton Mr Red Clubs could be on a good mark however no record fresh and probably best watched. Mias Boy is on a lengthy losing run, however a fair effort last time out keeping on well over CD, 2lb lower today and now 17lb below last winning mark one to consider for all he doesn’t win very often. Gabrial The Terror caught the eye under this jockey on return to action last time out around here over the extended 1m1f trip. Not fully exposed and should have more to offer especially if stripping fitter however slight concern the drop in trip. Geordan Murphy won a maiden in October on the turf at Windsor before following that effort up in a handicap with a win off a mark of 75 again on turf, not quite so good on polytrack at Kempton off revised mark of 79 but was successful last time out in a claimer at Kempton in good style. Didn’t really need to improve to potentially win that runs off 80 today back in a handicap and does need to step forward again. Miniskirt is the most interesting for me, showed form around here in a 4 runner maiden over CD before bolting up at Southwell in a weak affair. Opening mark doesn’t look over bearing and should continue to improve and looks one to stay on the right side of. 1pt win Miniskirt 13/2 PP
5.40 Meydan - Haatheq @21 PaddyPower
5.45 Wolverhampton - Kindlelight Storm win @ 13/2 PaddyPower Kindlelight Storm is not really in good form at the moment but he does seem to love it at Wolverhampton. He is 4 from 5 over C&D and he is one of only 4 C&D winners in the field. This is the first time he's been back over C&D since finishing 6th off a mark of 71. He is now on a mark of 64 which is 4lbs lower than his last win which came over C&D in a class 5 handicap. Some of his poor recent form can be excused as he has been running away from Wolverhampton, he has been runnning on turf and he has been running at inadequate trips. Despite the possible excuses he is certainly a risk if his poor recent form is anything to go by but with a return to his favourite course off what looks to be lenient mark on past form he could go well.
7.15 Wolverhampton - little choosey ( 1 point win @sp )

Re: Nap Of the Day - Thursday 8th January 2015 W7.15 Citisonsmith 1pt Win 12/1 Ladbrokes This looks like a horse that could leave all previous form behind on its handicap debut for a new stable. Interesting jockey booked as well who does quite well around here and the horse certainly couldn't have a better mark to show improved form, it's getting the best part of a stone or more from most of the field.
